Xander Harris
Who have your favorite teachers been through the years, and why? My favorite would have to be our high school history teacher. He is retiring this year, and won Wal-Mart's teacher of the year competition. He is funny and friendly, and always tries to relate the lessons to something relevant. He has really done a lot for our school not just in the athletic department (he's been the Athletic Director for years) but also for the school in general, by modeling a good attitude and a contagious love for life. xmystic_silverx
Oh yay! Favorite teachers, lets see. I would have to say my Science teacher. He's replacing someone this year and he is really funny! He is just starting the teaching business and he is only, 28 or so. I think the reason why other students like him so much is that when he tells jokes, they're not the old people jokes, the ones where they make no sense and you just fake laugh to act like you get the joke. He makes the class fun, and I guess that is what makes a good teacher. We shot little rockets off this year and he has his "Box-o-Candy" and thats where he puts all of his candy, and if anyone gets an A on their test, they get some candy!
Ariadyne
Mr. Fillier (my English and "AP Literature and Composition" teacher) is definetly THE best teacher I've ever had. He majored in History, European History, and English. Possibly the most learned person I've ever met, EV-ER. Besides the fact that he goes off topic every five minutes and could go on and on talking about completely random stuff, we've all learnt a good lesson in his classes: everything, everywhere has to do with the darkness and lust for power existing deep without the heart of humanity that has been corrupting mankind for centuries, and will continue to do so, forever. It may seem harsh, but it was funny how every piece of work we reviewed in class had some dark meaning hidden deep within. Even the people who hate school shut up and listen in his classes because it's actually quite interesting *lol*
Guest Spike88
Favorite teacher huh. I like my High school history teacher too. Ive had him 2 years in a row and I think he's pretty kool. He is layed back and let's us do what we want and well yet somehow he is able to talk us into working. He's dull yet his jokes are alwyas kind of korny even though they seem to make you smile becasue they are coming from someone so dull. Anyways he get's my vote for my favorite teacher. NeoNabishen
My Drama Teacher! She just got married and she wont is back next year, but she has been the best teacher I have ever had. She made me see that acting is an art form, and that I can be an artist. I will miss her very much next year. :(
Luminaire
Of all teachers I have had in the years, I would have to say my English techer this year is my favorite. She is funny and she plays tricks and she wanted us to go see Troy for our class. She can be a tough teacher, but that could be a good thing. She is fun to just talk to and we sometimes talk about very random things in class. She asks us for advice sometimes, like about whether or not she should let her daughter watch Friends or something. I really enjoy my English class. ~Lumi ^_^
NorykoAngelcry
I have a few favorite teachers, but the best one I have ever had would be my JROTC teacher, First Sgt. Quarterman. He passed away this year, and I am sorry to lose such a good teacher and a good friend. I really enjoyed him as a teacher. He was a great guy, and an excellent educator. I think he was probaly better then most of the other teachers I have ever had. I mean, he challenged us, no matter what the situation. If we came to class late, he made us do a 5 minute speech about whatever random word that he would think about. . I think I probably got more comfortable speaking in front of crowds from his class then with any other class that had me make speeches. His exams, for an elective class, were much more difficult then any of the other classes I took. He didn't give the all-to-easy multiple choice tests that other classes gave. He gave essay tests, or short answer tests. . It was difficult, but all the better. . I will truly miss him, both as a mentor, and a personal friend. Many of my brothers have had classes with him, and quite a few close friends also. . We all hold him in high regards, and the school and community suffered a great loss. . ChibiHorsewoman
I really really hated school, but i did have some pretty cool teachers that made me not want to jump out the 3rd story window. Third Grade Ms. Rosica- She had us raise ducks in class. Told stories about how she used to get into fights when she was younger. Let one of us do the religion class for the beginning of the day. Plus we also got to do all sorts of fun thinks like two recesses and better school projects. She was the first teacher I actually liked. US History-11th Grade- Mr.HOwlet-He was the track coach for the school, but never showed favor to the jocks over everyone else. I did pretty well in the class. Most memorable moment in class tho was our last day before Winter Break (Christmas break ect) we were watching teh Wizard of OZ to demonstrate the Gold standard and this kid starts being goofy so Mr. Howlet picked him up and spun him over his head. My brother had him as well. His friend Will was in the class too and I guess on the first day Mr. Howlet said: 'You can ask me anything you want' and Will asks. 'Do you like men.' He replies: 'Not the same way you do Will. Next.' Chemistry/Biology 11th and 12th grade- Mr.Mislovechec AKA Mr.M-I sucked in Chemistry and I also had him for summer school. He demonstrated acetone by taking my nail polish remover, pouring it on a dollar bill and setting it on fire to show that the $1.00 wouldn't burn. Then he gave me the $1.00 in replacement for my nail polish remover. Not bad I think I made a bit of a profit that day because the nail polish remover was only $.89 plus tax. Biology. He had stories about his part time job as a animal control guy and liked to tell his students about how he fell off the roof of someone's house, missed the driveway by 1/2 an inch and was in a coma for 3 days. In both classes he managed to electrocute himself atleast once a quarter. It was funny.
Minako
Favorite teachers huh? Mine, at the moment, would have to be my Traditional Lit. teacher this year. He was soo funny because he applied the stories to his own life. (He also told us the story about how he almost got killed and how he got kicked out of Walmart! *teehee*) He's just an all-around great guy. I will share the funniest thing that happened..umm *thinks* last Friday. We're watchign this movie, Iron Will and it's dead quiet. (The 'hero' is on the ground, struggling.) Then, this little kid says, "Get up!" My teacher nearly fell out the door laughing so hard! This, in turn, made the class laugh their heads off. It was just funny how he acts, and his facial expressions are priceless! *sigh* That's why he's my favorite teacher.
Celia
My favorite teachers in middle school are really... cool, I should say? For example, my Math teacher- Ms. Casserly, she's really understanding, and she explains what we don't understand all in class. But if you still don't get it, she'll spend extra time with you either during lunch or afterschool. My other favorite ones would have to be Ms. Ho and Ms. Webb. Ms. Ho's sense of humor brightens up the class instantly. She teases you about boy/girlfriends, but she totally understand what we're going through and such. Ms. Webb's really strict, but you learn lots of things in her class, and she talks about personal experience relating to the less as well. I'm really satisfied with my combination of teachers, they're awesome! ^_^
Thanatos
My favorite is probably my current history teacher. He's really good at getting people to feel enthusiastic towards the work. Plus, hes also a excellent guitarist and sometimes does a great solo at the end-of-term assemblies. He never sems to lose his temper either. I also like our physics teacher, hes funny and somehow gets the students to like physics. He also plays the harmonica and again does solos sometimes. Although his hair does give our class a strong susupician that he might actually be jesus... Well, we asked him and he didnt exactly deny it. Ashton
My favorite teachers were from my AP english and AP algebra II. My english teacher was a real...well anyway, because she was so harsh on us, she made the want for me to bug her stronger. ^________^ Let's just say that our class was so bad she occasionally left the room. I'm going to miss her... :smirk: My algebra II teacher was completely awesome. Loved her class because she let us do WHATEVER we wanted in there: eat, sleep, drink, talk on our cells, leave for a few minutes, read...some of the many things we could do. Though her class was completely hard........I wonder why? I practically did everything. Except leave.
Deedlit
My geometry teacher Mr. Martin, hands down. You should see him. He has black hair, an almost-unibrow, big round glasses, a goatee, but that's not the funniest part. He loves to dress like a nerdy teacher! :glasses: He'll wear a wool vest, suspenders, and a bow tie, and act crazy in class. Then around exam time he'll give us a break and we'll just play games like Mafia. Heh. Good times, good times.... Not only that, but the dude is a complete Veggie-Tales fan. When he does wear a normal tie, it'll have characters from the show on it, and on his filing cabinet he has an action figure of Bob the Tomato and Larry-Boy. lol And sometimes when it's raining he'll start grinning and lock the door just as someone's about to come in, and then he'll cackle evilly and jump up and down. Of course he only lets them stand out there for a few seconds (and there's a small porch outside the door), so they don't get too wet. ^__^ And apart from that, he teaches geometry well and simplifies all of those accursed postulates and theorems so that we can understand them. Nehszriah
*thinks* I guess it would be a tie between my fifth grade homeroom teacher, my old Algebra teacher, a sub I had last year and my current Physical Science teacher. Mrs. Sinda, 5th grade: Was this old hyperactive nutcase. I went to a Catholic school until 7th grade, so she kept on telling us to do stuff (pray, sing in church, ect...) with ENTHUSIASIM! (*arms go up in air* *little 5th graders moan in boredom*) She has retired and moved since and I miss her very much. :( Mr. Kopas, 8th grade Algebra: If you got him going about the pond in his backyard, he would go on FOREVER! :smirk: All his work was easy and he was really funny. He passed me only because I can teach myself math (for some odd reason) and he went along to all our fieldtrips, taking pictures everywhere and turned it into a CD that he gave every kid in the 8th a copy. Mr. Smitka, 8th grade Science sub: He made Darwin and geneology fun. (Yay Smitka! :D )We were never bored in that class and I passed it higher than I ever did with my previous teacher that year. ... and finally... Mr. Lavender, 9th grade Physical Science: He is a shaved-bald hippie vampire, people. My friend Tsuki and I created the vampire thing earlier this year and it has sort of stuck. He will bare his "fangs" at us ( ) and joke about his being a vampire. Next Halloween though, I shall invade his new P.S. class with a piece of wood, yell "DIE SPAWN OF ENKIL AND AKASHA!!", toss the wood out the window and run away, laughing hysterically. Yep. That's it out of the teacher I've had. My school is bursting with colorful teachers that shall make you laugh, love school and just worry about their sanity level.
