shahi
Two swords glow slightly from a building over looking the streets."So a war has begun in this city...and to think it was so peaceful before." Charnique rolled her eyes thinking about what she had learned earlier from a wounded goblin now dead thanks to her short temper. She watched the battle rage, having been told to report back to her teacher with what she learned if possible."I still don't see the purpose of this... what he said." though about what had happened only a hour earlier. ~flash back~ "Its so quiet." walking through the streets that night Charnique noticed the strange silence that hovered around. A couple of goblins would hurry across the street every now and then. but, other than that the barking of dogs there was almost complete silence, If you didn't count the sounds that humans made through out the night. Street lights light the side walk giving it a whitish appearance. The streets near her house were always crowded mainly with gangs of goblins. But, at that moment they where empty. She decided to head home. It was already late when she got through the door. Feeling that some thing wasn't right she crept to her room and slightly opened the door. Cautiously holding one of her daggers in her right hand. She swung open the door. Her eyes a blazing purple, a shade darker than her skin. Now a light fuzzy purple streaked with a shiny silverish white markings. She glanced around the hall and then to the room. Not bothering to turn on the light she stepped in to the room. A thick smell of blood lingered."Goblins where here....you must have slaughtered them." She muttered under her breathe. Because of the stench she though slaughtered was more appropriate than killed."Shakus...you must leave now....there?s a war going on tonight, its your choice stay hidden like these pathetic creatures or..." she knew the voice of her teacher well."or" She headed towards her closet." "pick up arms and fight." She pulled out two shiny black swords the color of blood shining in the light. "What is my reason for fighting? I will kill if I have a reason." She turned slightly to her teacher. "You are getting to...human like...fight to bring honor back to our clan." His words stuck with her."Human like...." She muttered headed to the window, earlier broken and jumped on to the fire escape." I don't act human" She turned slightly around." I do what I need to survive....and if that means not killing everything in sight. So be it" She said quickly taking her leave. She headed up to the buildings roof and quickly jumped the building making sure she was not spotted by a near by helicopter. ~end of flashback~ "What the hell did he mean....to human and who am I supose to bring honor to the clan died out a long time ago, the old man seems to be losing his mind" It didn't stay on her mind for long. She watched the stream of bullets and the werewolves fighting back ferociously. looking up she noticed some others like her watching what goes on below."where only few..." She thinks looking at a crumbling building."we should not be so isolated from our own kind." She sighed and realized the building she was standing on started to shake."****....run!" She shouted out to some of the others on the buildings out of instinct. She jumped the buildings collapsing catching a glimpse of some of her kind fall below. When the buildings stopped falling she decided it wouldn't be safe anywhere."the citiy is now a battle ground..." She though climbing down a half-broken fire escape and landing lightly on her feet. Smoke rose from the fallen buildings. Bodies could be seen scattered across the area.
Revelation
Lightly taking in small sips of her drink, Alandra looked around at Maxwell's office. Quaint, large, yet mysterious. Filled with weaponry of all types and with ancient artifacts. She then looked to Maxwell, her eyes began to shift and act as a mechanical eye. Something about him was...strange. He covered his scent well, but there was something that made her believe he wasn't just human. Maxwell sat in his chair and leaned back, gently placing his fingertips together and crossing his legs. Alandra sat adjacent to him and he spoke to her, once more. "Since you've had a drink, may I ask again, why you are here to see me?" Alandra eyed him carefully, yet made it seem like she was studying everything in his room. Her gaze fell upon him quickly with one sharp turn of her neck. "I'll be real quick and blunt. I need a job that lets me use all of my skills and practice." "Hmm. All of your skills and practice? And what might be your skills and practice?" Maxwell seemed disinterested, yet he managed to look quite amused. Alandra stood and walked to the window that was curtained, she opened them and looked down below. She then turned to Draco, who seemed to wonder why she was standing before the window. Alandra smirked and opened it. She stepped out and as she did, Maxwell walked to the window as well. "What is the meaning of this?" Alandra scaled the building across from Draco's, then she scaled the height from where she was standing and to the sidewalk. A very long leap, which Alandra took. Draco stuck his head out and looked to see what she was doing and saw that it looked as if she was gliding on air. She gently touched the ground before with a great jump, grabbed ahold of the fire safety ladder and pulled herself back up. This was getting quite interesting now, to Draco. "Alright, you can jump and leap from tall buildings. What else?" "Do you know what a Shadow Hunter is?" Maxwell's eyebrow raised in question. Alandra nodded. "I thought so. I am one of the rarest and fewest that come from a long line of Shadow Hunters. A Shadow Hunter is a job, not a race. We hunt Shadowkind who are out of line and have become...how should I put this?...Psychotic. We also hunt those who disagree with our morals and disagree with our ways. I hunt just out of spite of hatred for most Shadowkind, as well as wanting to feed off of their power. I am a Shadow Hunter who is able to take energy, soul energy, from Shadowkind and use it to my own use. I am also a Sorceress, the only Shadow Hunter who uses magic." Draco still had his eyebrow raised in question. "Let me rephrase that for you. I am a Shadow Hunter who uses magic and hunts to kill Shadowkind. I take soul energy and use it as my own. Any questions?" With a small breath of air, Draco walked back to his chair. "Sorceress, you say?"
Guest Midnight Rush
He looked at her, his mind racing, "Well Alandra, perhaps I do have a job for you. My Operations Officer will send you details within a few hours, until then, don't get killed. Also, go and ask Miss Nakamura who to see about compensation and benefits. I have other business to attend to, thank you for stopping by." She nodded curtly and left. Maxwell Draco entered his private elevator and wnet up to the roof. It was the only place in the building large enough for him to comfortably transform. When he reached the roof, he loosened his tie, and began to shake... violently. He screamed loudly as his body exploded in size, the muscles becoming as large as bicycles... His face became angular and pointed, like a wolf's... And a deep black fur began to fill out all over his body. His already intense green eyes seem to have caught fire. He was HUGE... and very very dangerous. His fangs became so long they protruded from his mouth... they dripped with lust for blood. He roared... LOUD. The ground shook at the sound, and the fighting stopped for a moment as this juggernaut of destruction leapt from the building, causing a crater were he landed below. "Colonel Madsen!" His voice caused weaker windows to break at its sheer magnitude. "You called for my assistance?" He didn't even wait for an answer, he just began the slaughter. His huge fisted paws rained down blows upon the lesser creatures below him. His enemies swarmed him mercilessly, but he shook them off and killed them with great pleasure.... The guns began to fire again, and the Shadow Walker's blades were doing their work.
Swordsaint
Raynor sat up straight when he had heard that martial law ha been imposed on the city. He sprinted over to the television turning on the news. His eyes widened in horror of the flickering images he saw: "This is karen ... of channel 9 NYC news! We are...above the scene...of a massive firefight between a susp... ...roist cell, and an -named task force. Sever...et gangs, and civilia... have been cau... in the crossfire below." A large pack of were-wolves fought hard to flee the mass of heavily armed humans, explosions surrounded both sides. A large flaming hole gapped in the empire state building. The were wolves behind him bristled in anger. The reporter's face contorted from calm and composed to that of sheer terror. "Oh my god! we...hit! AAAUGH!..."The t.v. went temporarily static, before switching to a technical difficulties screen. Raynor snagged his coat from the coat hanger alongside the wall, scrawling a note on a sheet of paper as he went. He stopped in front of the hung-over dwarf gaurding the door. He shoved the scribbled note into his fumbling hands. "If an elf named Uila comes here, give him this."Raynor was out the door before the confused dwarf could speak. He hopped onto his bike, speeding off as fast as he could, most of the traffic had stopped, or cleared the streets, with martial law imposed. Raynor knew he didn't have long, he knew the military would keep the promise and shoot on sight. God damn it! what in the ********** hell is going on! This is going to be to big for me to handle on my own... He crouched lower t ohis bike, decreasing the wind resistance, giving a good boost in speed. He swereved right, dodging an empty cabbie, a few astonished face looked out to see the madman still out in the street. A little further on, groups of people were looting stores, he would have dealt with them but bigger fish were in a dire need of frying. He heard the explosions and gun fire, long before he arived at the battle. he hid his bike behind a dumpster a block away. Drawing his sword, he charged it with his holy strength, rushing down the alleyway, the clamor of the fight was building to a familiar crescendo. He burst from the alleway, in front of several figures, all riding motorbikes like his, they wield swords axes, carried guns of all kinds. What was worse, was Raynor felt the sickening aura of undead from all of them. They were vampires, he was certain that they sensed what he was to, for the raised their weapons, hooting and ululating their war cries. Raynor readied his sword, crouching low, waiting to strike. The vampires closed the distance rapidly, Raynor sprang from his stance, landing a solid kick to the creatures jaw. He flew from his bike, oly to be crushed by the tires of his fellows. Raynor landed on the back, punching hard on the gas to keep pace with the undead fiends. One of the creatures strayed to close, Raynor swung his blade, severing the front tire entirely from the steering column(sp?) He stomped on the brakes as two vampires aimed their guns at him, they fired as they pased him completly, silver bullets sinking into their cold flesh. Raynor's acquired bike, was smashed by another vampires bike as he slowed to a crawl. He was thrown violently, along with the vampire, landing hard on the pavement. Raynor rose quickly, before the vampire could recover. He jammed his sword into its unbeating heart. It Roared in pain, the un-earthly roar always made raynor shake. It slowly disintigrated to ash. He heard to of the biker vampires turn round, their bikes were closing fast. Two streaks of red and black were hurtling towards raynor, the vampire he had kicked earlier was charging from behind. Raynor dove of to the side (a la morphieus) slicing into the vampires bike as he went racing by, he felt the katana almost flew from his hands as he struck metal, flesh, and bone. He drew his glock, fireing three shots into the bike, one of the bullets found home on the gas tank, creating a fiery explosion the threw the other biker from his vehicle. Raynor took aim at the fallen beast, fireing several silver rounds into his chest. The last chargin vampire, threw down his weapon, thinking that running would prolong his undead life. He fell victim to the teeth of snarling werewolves. they were chargin up the road to join their bretheren in glorius battle. Raynor, too, turned to join the fray. Lord give me the strength to see this one through... ooc: Okay we went from were-wolf prophecy, to full scale warefare between humans, an efreet (Maxwell Draco), and werewolves. Cyriel
OOC: ...wow, talk about chaotic. It was mindblowing reading all that. IC: Black blood stained the midnight blue robes. The dark blade could barely be seen by the naked eye; it was moving too quickly - or it was buried in some creature's flesh. Cries and screams carried around her, and Furie concentrated only on the Shadowkind. She lost sight of the Crimson Pack leader, but didn't let it trouble her. We'll meet...in good time. Her katana was held in her left hand; her right hand was still injured from her punishment from Shade. No need to mention that her back was aching, and it clearly affected her fighting. She was a bit more...wary, even though she was surrounded by Shadowkind. However, Furie had not forgotten Shade's words. Indeed, she moved from group to group between the Walkers, always checking on their situation and progress. She was forced to - she was too injured to go solo again. So...Shade is victorious once again... And he forced me to be their keepers. It was a cold, calculated guess, but it was the right one. But no matter - as long as they lived, and these fell creatures did not, she would accept whatever judgement Shade passed on her, and whatever punishment he laid on her. It was the only way she knew how to survive. The Walkers were a deadly force, and they cut a wide swathe in the enemy's lines. That is...until they saw the huge beast falling from the sky, which ripped a gaping hole in the forces of the Shadowkind. That's when they faltered, but Furie called back their attentions, nearly missing getting her head swiped off by a goblin. But he hadn't reached far enough, and so just her hair went, sliced neatly off by the sickle until it was chin-length. She turned, shoving her katana in a quick fixation, and the goblin fell. "Walkers! Hunt!" They obeyed, their faces set in grim lines as they turned back to the battle before them. Furie then turned to the massive beast that was being set upon by all creatures. She had never seen something of this magnitude, this...horrific magnificence. Another Shadowkind... Time to bring down its head as well. She leapt off the ground, quickly covering the distance that separated the two. Her blade was ready to attack - SSHHIIINNNNGGG!! Looking up, Furie found her katana blocked by a blade of white bone. Immediately she stopped. "No, Furie," Shade said, looking at the monstrous beast. They sank back to the battle, fighting back to back. Their blades were a quick dance, a swirl of dark and light as they laid death everywhere they touched. "Shade, that thing is Shadowkind." "As are some of our allies. And that thing is our ally...for now." That told Furie more than enough, and she was satisfied. It would fall...in time, and join Darius's head in the fires. She spoke again, "Who is it?" Shade's reply surprised her slightly, "Draco Maxwell." She had known that he was Shadowkind...but she hadn't expected his true form to be this. Again, she nodded. Suddenly, Shade cocked his head, and there was a pause in the movement of his blade, "...I hear something calling you. A wolf's howl, perhaps?" A cold smile lit his lips. "I suppose...that it's Darius's successor, no? How ironic - both heirs are to the battle, just as Darius and I once were. You shouldn't keep him waiting." Furie was stunned. Heir? Heir to what? She understood that Mothias was Darius's heir...but she... But as she too heard a faint howl over the clash of battle, she wiped it from her mind. Leaping up, she cut her way swiftly through, leaving Shade's side and the other Walkers. She knew that this time he would not protest. Her injured right hand traveled to her pocket, touching the gleaming fang that lay there. Then she met Mothias's eyes once again, and he snarled. She smiled faintly, and whipped out her blade, the blood falling from it in smooth glimmers. And prepared herself to attack... OOC: Let's go ReFlux.
Guest Midnight Rush
Alandra waited somberly in the office of Vivian Loh. Vivian was to give her the details of the assignment, but she was late. She began to doubt her new employer, and was going to leave when Vivian came into the room. The young Shanghainese woman was dressed in blue, and was all business. "Sorry for the delay. My car was hit with a missile and I had to walk from Brooklyn." "Er.. sure. No problem." "This is a report detailing the Shadowkind you are to kill. His name is Mothias, and he is the leader of the Crimson Pack." "I must go into the maelstrohm of death out there and find him I suppose?" "There is 40 Million dollars for you if you do." "See you in a few hours." ________________________________________________________ The shock over the sheer size and might of Maxwell Draco was wearing off now, and the ranks of the shadowkind sought desperately to avoid him in their fight with the Walkers adn Security Forces. Aside from the area where Maxwell Draco fought, the Crimson Pack and her allies pushed their foes down. The Security Forces were not trained to deal with supernatural enemies, and it cost them dearly. Many of them were dead, and the reinforcements from the Asia Division fared no better. However, a small elite force that Maxwell Draco had personally trained rode into the battlefield in a pure black and silent helicopter. This force silently evaded the chaos and hunted down Furie, who was their target. They had been sent by Amadeus Wolfe, and they never failed. They found her as she was valiantly fighting the lord of the werewolves.
Xander Harris
"Skirmish between two dozen giants and eighteen vampires reported near Queens, agent presence required at once." Uila hurled himself across another rooftop, stopping to snap pictures of a group of dead goblins in an alley-way, then blasted off toward Queens. Every muscle in his body ached, his head was throbbing from shrapnel wounds. Uila could remember the feeling he had now from another time, from his dreams... The battle was almost over when he arrived. The vampires, being impervious to most of the giant weapons, had won fairly easily. The elf scanned the situation with his computer, which quickly catalogued the images of each of the participants. All over the city, other agents were cataloging all other participants in the urban war. The seers could sort things out later, and determine the identity of the Human Gate. Uila heard another instruction in his earpiece: "Agent Uila, report to briefing room at once." Briefing room? Now!?! Not one to disobey orders, he flew off toward a small park in the center of town, where Department 7 and the CIA shared a complex. He swung past his apartment on the way to pick up some pieces of evidence he had picked up earlier to show to the others. Standing at his door was Loki, looking very nervous. "What are you doing here? It isn't safe!" "Nowhere is safe. There's people dying everywhere!" "Get inside my apartment, and stay there until I tell you to come out. There's food in my fridge." "What are you going to do about all this?" "Right now, I have a business meeting." Uila grabbed a suitcase filled with broken weapons and magic stones, locked the door to his apartment and activated the defense charms, then leapt out the nearest window. ************************************************************************ Eight individuals, including Jonathon Eirogo, the Department head, sat around a circular table, looking over their notes on laptop computers. Uila and the other three field agents were covered in dried blood, dust and shrapnel, but the other five were dressed in pressed suits and ties. Jonathon got up and lowered a projector screen. President Bush appeared on it. "I am here to inform the American people that our nation is under attack. Terrorists have infiltrated New York City, and have become engaged with private soldiers. I have ordered the marines to surround the city to contain the fighting, and they will deploy into the city proper within the hour. New York has withstood the wrath of these thugs before, and I know the people of this city will rise to the occasion again. Stay within your homes, and do not interfere with the terrorists or..." "All right, gentleman. That's the spin the president is putting on this in public. In private, he's mad as hell at us. We were supposed to prevent things like this from happening, but we let it occur for a very good reason. Once the Vessel is in U.S. control, our national security can be assured forever. The lives that are lost today are not lost in vain. Don't forget that." Uila was glad that the plan was coming to fruitation. But in the back of his mind, he couldn't forget the image of little Loki, terrified and trembling, knowing death was stalking her. Or of Furie, that elegant warrior, in more danger than she had ever been before. On his way here, the elf had seen a little half-elf boy, only ten years old, that Uila had saved first from vampires, and then from the Shadow Walkers, lying dead in the street, his corpse desecrated by drunken ogres. Uila knew what the plan was. He knew it's importance, and in the front of his mind he was utterly dedicated to seeing it fulfilled. So why, in the back of his mind, did these images keep playing, and why did he feel the fast food he had for dinner earlier trying to come back up the way it came? "Now, the reason I summoned you here in the middle of this crisis, is that we have an opportunity to accomplish something else during all the fighting as well. Something which I know will make the president very glad." A new image replaced Bush's face on the screen. "It appears that Maxwell Draco has decided to... let his hair down... and enjoy the chaos. He is outside of his protective screen of spells and bodyguards, running wild through the streets in wolf form. This is our opportunity to take him out, to capture him, question him, and take down all of the Dark Wing Industries Conglomerate once and for all! I need each of you to authorize this operation, and Agent Uila, you will lead the op." Each of the agents gave their signatures within seconds, including the elf. If this war meant that Draco would pay for his many sins, than maybe it was worth it. In the back of his mind, Loki trembled, children screamed then died, and soldiers were slain. ******************************************************************* Twenty minutes later, Uila was perched on top of the Empire State Building, watching a giant wolf slaughter the last few unfortunates in his vicinity. Calmly, the agent withdrew a gleaming dagger from within his coat. "Agents in place, Firebird" a voice came over his earphone. "Copy that, Nightstalker." Uila took aim, and hurled the dagger. To anyone watching, it seemed like foolishness. The wolf was blocks away. There was no way a mere dagger could hit it. And yet, as the blade spun through the air, energy seemed to grow around it. It traveled faster and faster, and the glow of power grew larger and larger. The dagger impacted upon the wolf with the force of a dozen comets. The wolf slammed to the ground, unconscious, a gashing wound in it's side. Slowly at first, then faster, the wolf shrank, then reverted to human form. Uila leapt off his perch and manipulated the wind to set him down next to his prey. Agents swarmed out of a nearby truck, tended to Maxwell's wounds, then trussed him up, sedated him (so he couldn't revert back to wolf form), and put him in the truck. Uila's eyes flashed a bright green. He turned, and facing him on the other side of the street was a strongly built women who radiated power. "What do ya think you're doing with my new boss?" She drew her weapon and glared at Uila menacingly. Uila pulled out his gun, and began to walk toward her. The van drove off at top speed. "I don't know who you are, women. But you just made the biggest mistake of your life."
Revelation
Alandra stood with her ninja blade, smirking as she watched an agent of Dept. 7 watch her. She despised cops and all cops, and she was going to show it. She looked to Maxwell and knew that it was time for her to act. She smirked once more and faded into the shadows. The agent watched her every move, until she disappeared deep into it. There was no sign of her. Alandra emerged onto the roof of the truck and slashed the top of the roof. She tore it open, but was nearly hit by the bullets coming from a standardized pistol. With a low growl, Alandra leaped from the high roof, doing a back flip in the air before landing. She came around the truck and looked to the agent. She put her blade away and took out her silver Desert Eagles that had been modified to shoot automatically and have seemingly endless bullets along with a retractable nose hidden in the gun. She began to shoot as well. A moaning Maxwell began to stir in the truck, while the two fought. Alandra looked to it and then to the agent. She put her guns away and leaped into the air once more and landed on top of the roof of the truck again. "I'm warning you, you're making the biggest mistake of your life!" Guest Midnight Rush
OOC: Man Draco is weaker than I planned him to be... sorry Xander, but it's time for a little revenge! Poor little fox girl... all alone when the wolf comes for eating. Thanks for minimizing complications, Arika. IC: As Alandra and Uila fought savagely, Maxwell Draco, having fully regained consciousness now, nimbly left the truck and stormed over to his HQ. He went up to his office, and told Ami to get him a martini and some "blue" pills. After he took the pills and drained a few more martini's, he felt like he was worth the 1400 billion dollars he was. His wounds were gone, and he was in SUPER RAGE-type mood. "Ami! Take about 2 weeks triple piad vacation, go hang out at my beach house in Malaysian Borneo, I don't want my favorite secretary to be injured." "Yes sir! Thank you sir!" He radioed his private helicopter to evacuate her and Vivian, and they escaped safely. After this, he took a SsG 8200 down from the wall, and munched a few more "blue" pills. I sensed that stupid elf man had an emotional attachemnt... The presence signature was very insignificant, must be a supernatural girlfriend., Draco mused as he hurtled towards Uila's apartment. When he arrived at the apartment, he sensed the charms Uila had put up in defense. "Stupid elf man! To think such things would deter me!" he roared as he punched through the door, feeling a new strength flow through him with every step. Loki was doing her best to stay hidden, and it took nearly ten minutes for Draco to find her. She put up a little fight, but he just jabbed her with a sleeping dart, and she went out cold. After trashing millions of dollars in Dep. 7 equipment, Draco left the apartment, and rondezvoused with Colonel Madsen. "Madsen," He began. "Fire is a dangerous thing? Is it not?" "Very dangerous, sir!" "Exactly. I want this little girl to be turned into a time bomb... 30 megatons should do the trick. When the elf comes, give him his girlfrend back." The engineers went to work, and used biotechnology to integrate a 30 megaton nuclear weapon into her. She was a living reactor designed to be unstable, and Draco Maxwell held the detonation device, deeply embedded into one of his legs... all it takes is a thought... and the precious elf-man's girlfriend, and the city, gets fried.... "Sir!" One of the engineers reported. "We have designed the bomb system to be vital to her survival. Any attempts at diffusal or removal will result in her death and detonation!" "Excellent work." ________________________________________________ Some two hours later Uila came rushing berserk into the area. He saw Loki, hogtied in the middle of a clearing, and became furious. He went to untie her, but Madsen's SsG 570 fired and hit him square in the side. Uila's wound was deep, but not fatal, the blood pouring out like a pitcher of lemonade. Several of his ribs were shattered, and it would take time even for one with his regenerative powers to heal. A huge improvised television screen lit up, depicting the stern face of Maxwell Draco, clad in a ebony black suit, and looking very grave and imperious. "I'd be careful about touching your little foxy friend..." Draco said via satellite link. Staggering from his near blinding pain and loss of blood, Uila mumured, "Why the **** is that?" "The people of New York won't be happy if you set off a 30 megaton thermonuclear weapon in the middle of the city, now will they?" Uila looked at his friend, and said, with tears in his eyes, "What has that bastard done to you?" OOC: Before you ask where my engineers came up with a bionic bomb, I'll tell you: The same place Uila bought a traquilizer dagger that can stop a sky-scraper sized wolf. You are welcome to come up with a way to diffuse the bomb... but think of a good solution to it.
Xander Harris
OOC: Actually, I'm fairly certain we got both the dagger and the resources to make a 'bio-bomb' from the same place: our original sign-up posts. ;) Go read mine. The dagger is in there. Actually, it's not a tranquilizer, it deals lethal damage. But I figured Draco's wolf hide would be enough to turn the worst affects... I guess I'm supposed to assume Uila beat Alandra eventually, but with grievous injuries. Makes sense. I'll let Arika work out the details of her current situation... BIC: The chatter inside Department 7 headquarters was frantic. An intern slammed into a grumpy ogre mage, and dropped her papers all over. A dainty female agent leapt over the papers, running to deliver the third special bulletin in the past 15 minutes to the director's office. The marines, along with the majority of the Department's U.S. agents had stormed the city, retaking NYC street by street. The agents who Draco had escaped from had followed him back to his headquarters, and now the marines and agents closed in around Dark Wing Industries corporate headquarters. Department 7 had bungled the capture attempt, but had found the perfect scapegoat. They would tell the President that the whole war had been initiated by Maxwell Draco. The new word from the white house was that Maxwell was in bed with the 'terrorists', and would be brought to justice. The American people wanted to put a face on the murderers who had ransacked NYC, and Maxwell Draco, having deployed the most troops onto the street and attempted to place the city under martial law, was easily elected. But many of his troops, and those loyal to him, had retreated inside the building. A massive standoff had begun, and the whole world watched as a powerful corporate tycoon stood toe to toe with the United States Marines... Meanwhile, in a small apartment in Manhattan, Uila's head was spinning. As he struggled to his feet, his mind slowly processed the words The Dragon had just spoken. A sudden, overpowering rage gripped him that he had felt before only in his dreams. He put a bullet right between the eyes of Draco's thug, then spun toward the screen and discharged round after round into it, until his revolver clicked empty. "Uila." A voice came over his earpiece, "The Vessel has been identified. All other agents are occupied, and you have been assigned to secure the Vessel immediately." Almost automatically, the elf started to turn and obey. This is what they had worked for almost 50 years. But the risk to civilians of the bomb was greater. Uila, his voice hoarse, relayed that info to centcom. "Copy that, agent. We have received similar threats, urging us to stand down. Now we have confirmation of the bombs reality. Will deploy a bomb team at once." "No." Uila looked back at Loki. "He won't let that happen. The second the team gets near this block, he'll trigger the bomb. A wolf is most deadly when it is cornered, desperate. We are not dealing with a rational man right now, but a savage beast." The agent knew what had to be done. He stood looking at the Chinese Fox for several long moments. Then his limber frame shuddered once, and he stood there again, in silence. The only sound was the crackling of the destroyed electrical equipment. Thousands would die. And yet, Uila suddenly realized that he really didn't care. The only life he cared about was hers. The elf suddenly fell over on his knees, and vomited. His stomach convulsed in dry heaves as he realized what his duty had become. His body shook with guilt and pain as he pushed himself to his feet, and walked toward Loki. "There's" his voice croaked out, "no need to fear. It doesn't hurt, much. Trust me, I would know." Quietly, calmly, he bent over, his agent training taking over and supplanting emotion. There was no time to think, only to do. He ran forward and grabbed Loki. "Don't be scared. Don't be scared. Please, be brave." He ran to the shattered window and again leapt out of it. He flew toward the ocean, pouring it on as he never had before. He felt Loki's body begin to grow warm, and pulse. Uila and Loki swept past the statue of liberty, heading out away from NYC. Uila arced his course upward, hoping to gain as much altitude as possible. Then, it happened. Loki gave one final convulsion, then died. Mystic energy emanated forth from her body, forming a massive sphere of death. The lady of the harbor was vaporized. The elf was reduced to ashes. The last of the power fled from the Chinese Fox's body, and it fell toward the earth, a pile of ashes clinging to it tenderly. ******************************************************************* The second after the bomb went off, Department 7 went into action. Summons were sent to the Shadow Walkers and the Knight Of The Silver dragon, urging them to come help in the final battle. The werewolves (those that were still alive) were offered amnesty and protection if they stood with the U.S. Within the confines of his chambers, Maxwell Draco summoned forth every ounce of power he could. Monsters he kept in cold storage were released. Weapons of mercenaries were rearmed and salaries were doubled. Everyone was glued to their televisions, as the media reported on a massive battle between U.S. troops and a terrorist businessman about to take place on homeland soil... And somewhere in NYC, the Vessel continued to walk free, for the time being... ****************************************************************** Between Earth and Another World, a soul hangs in the balance. The soul feels itself pulled back toward the Earth, as if by an invisible tether. Yet this time, the soul does not want to return. It wishes to go to it's final resting place, to be rid of the sin and pain of mortal life. And so it draws closer and closer to the light, and feels the tether begin to fail. It has been weakening every time this soul has come to this place, and now at last it will break. Then, before the soul, there is a bird. The bird is made of flame, and is more majestic and pure than anything this soul has ever before witnessed. It reaches forward, and gently guides the soul back to the world of the humans. Then, it utters two words: "have hope." ***************************************************************** Five hours later, the mood in NYC was still unbelievably tense. The fear and anticipation was palpable. The standoff continued. On the shores of Elis Island, debris from leveled historic buildings lied mingled with human body parts. The gentle waves lapped onto the shore, and when they receded, left the body of Loki. There was a small twinkling, like that of fairy dust, and the dirt and ashes stuck to the corpse begin to rise into the air, then formed into the shape of a man. In a burst of flame, Uila was restored to life. He looked down at the corpse, and was again overcome with grief. There was no hope here. None at all for this world, a world that would take a life so young, so beautiful... No joy was to be found here, or anywhere. Beside the elf lay his daggers. Firmly, he snatched one up, and held it to his heart. He bent over the frame of the fox-child, and for the first time since he left the Shadowrealm, he cried. It was only a single tear, which fell down and splashed against the body's face. Uila rose up, and raised the dagger to the sky. There was no hope. Only hope that he could win through to the other side this time. Then the corpse began to move. Loki's eyes fluttered open, and she stood up. "Uhhh. What the heck? Where am I?... Uila?" The elf looked, with unbelieving eyes. He had seen something like this once before, in his dreams. The phoenix effect. The gift of life, given only to the most noble souls. The dagger fell from his hand, and before he knew what he was doing, the stoic elf had embraced the Chinese Fox, and was kissing her passionately. He pulled back like he had been shocked, stood up, brushed off the sand and regained his composure. "Right. Well, I am pleased to see you are alive. Come along now, there's business that must be attended to.."
Revelation
Straightening up, Alandra cracked her neck and went to find her newfound boss. She raised her head and smelled for a scent. She sighed and found that there were millions of scents in the air. She then picked up a distinct scent, the scent that Alandra picked up from Draco. She decided to forget about it and walked towards Dark Wing Ind. As she did, people looked to her and she saw that she was bleeding. She ignored the pain and walked into the building. Walking up to information, she looked to the woman again, who bowed to her in respect. "How may I help you, once again?" With a groan, Alandra spoke. "Where's Draco?" "Uhm..that I do not know. He has just left the building moments ago. I am sorry." "Fine." Alandra sighed and walked to the elevators. "I'll take myself up." She rode the elevators up to Maxwell's floor. Once she was there, Alandra groaned as she walked towards his office. She stopped at his assistant's desk and saw that she wasn't there. She then walked to his door and pounded on it. Nobody answered. She pounded again and the same results. Thinking something went wrong, Alandra kicked the door open, as blood poured from her side again. She looked to see no one was in the office. With a sigh, Alandra walked out. She stopped and walked to the window she had jumped out of earlier. She then looked down and decided to jump once more. Opening the window, she breathed deeply in and let the crisp air breeze around her. She walked out onto the sill and looked down. Alandra fell and flipped in the air. She landed gracefully and stood. She ruffled with her hair and walked on. Letting go of her side, the blood stopped dripping down. Alandra walked away from the building towards the park, towards the fountain she had first begun at.
Anne
Loki blushed and became fluster. Uila had kissed her, like she always wanted him to. She watched him stand up and brush sand off. She really wasn't sure how she got here. "Right. Well, I am pleased to see you are alive. Come along now, there's business that must be attended to.." She was snapped out of her thoughts by Uila voice. "What business? Why am I here and how did I get? Uila I am so confused. What happen to everything." She looked around. Uila looked at her with saddness in his eyes. "I'll explain it to you later, but right now there's other business to take care of." Uila took Loki's hand in his. "Come now lets go and I promise you this time i will protect you."
Lorcanith
OOC: Damn... a lot's happened over the weekened. A Nuke, national security with this vessel thingumy...anyhow here goes! Raynor sat with his fellow knights in the back of a Dep.-7 apc. It rumbled across the debris littered streets, joslting them violently as they went. Raynor grimaced as the hit a large bump, his wounds were farily serious, had he been a normal man, he'd be dead, but thankfully, being a knight of his expierience made him something a little bit more. Raynor sighed, staring off into the black metal of the carrier, getting hurt like this seemed to be happening to him a lot in new york, more so than anywhere else. He didn't particualarily like it, it was a bad sign to him, at least he was doing his duty in the line of fire. His eyes turned dark as he thought about doing one's duty. He remembered the news flash, with special footage of the nuke, before and after it had went off. He had seen a familiar fiery dot flying through the sky, before the fiery explosion erupted, killing thousands, and knocking out the camera. Raynor slammed his fist into the hard metal seat he sat on. A few of the knights gave him surprised looks. The driver looked back shouting at him above the rumbling of the machine. "Knight Raynor!" raynorwas pulled from his thoughts, he looked wearily over at the driver. "Yeah?" "Sir! I have just been ordered to take you back to Dep.-7 Headqaurters, where you will be patched up and debriefed!" Raynor nodded his head, looking down at his sword. He had taken so many lives with that sword over the years, he had lost track. The only ones that knew exactly how many where department 7, and the a few of the record keepers at the Knights Headquarters. the Apc jerked to the stop, shaking the knights around the knights slightly. "Sir, we're here." * * * Raynor walked with a slight limp from the debriefing room, he had been told that he had to remain here until further notice. He fumed, there was a battle to be fought, and he couldn't fight it! Innocents were still being murdered by rogue shadow kind, and he could do nothing! He grimaced, stopping to catch his breath. The pain from the more serious wounds burned through him like his anger. He took several deep, albiet ragged, breaths to calm himself. In this condition, he would only be a bother to the others fighting to stop all this. Besides, a few of the people working here had been calling ohter agents as well, and there was talk of a big mission coming up, maybe he had been picked for it. Ranor walked to the break room, he'd spotted a comfy looking couch when he had come through the place, perfect for a nap. He spotted it almost immeadiatly. Off to the left side in the sterile white walled room, black leather couch. He sat down slowly, his wounds screaming at him the whole way. He leaned back taking in the room. A fridge sat humming directly acrossed from him. A few cupboards hung above a sink on the wall to his right, and a low sitting glass table sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by four chairs. He breathed deeply again relaxing himself this was the comfiest he'd been since coming to New York. and those medecines they gave me to speed up healing should be kicking in...I thought they were supposed to make me sleepy... As he finished the thought his head fell back, his mind sailing away to the land of dreams. ooc: AWWW GOD DAMMIT! Lorcanith is my brothers name, the person that made this post is swordsiant, I thought I had logged my brother out, and logged myself in. DAMMIT! I'm sorry for any confusion this may cause. shahi
"Aww hell!" Jumping over the debris of fallen buildings Charnique ran as fast as she could. Some of the soliders set around the city to shoot every thing in sight had spotted her . Streams of bullets followed her steps. She ran pasted a near by building and saw a News helicopter still up there. Apparently some stations where still working or maybe it was the radio stations or some thing."do you people have any thing better to shot at?!" She thought seeing a giant ball of fire hit the ground in front of her. A fallen helicopter apparently. While trying to avoid the helicopter one of the snipers shot her in her arm."Crap!" She kept running this time headed for the roof where the bullets where coming from. She climbed up a fire escape on the back side of the building and pulled out her dagger. "Moron!" She said getting behind the man. He turned around only to see a blade quickly slash across his neck. Charnique watched the blood spill from his neck and his limp form fall to the ground, a pool of blood appearing under him. a strong wind appeared to be headed in her direction. "Helicopter" She quickly jumped on the helicopter witch looked like it came from the U.S. military. As soon as she jumped on the front window it started spraying bullets. "A minute to late" She placed her hands now glowing slightly blue firmly on the window and it turned Ice cold. The Propellers stopped moving the controls started to freeze. She jumped down and landed on another fire escape before the helicopter fell to the ground." Dammit." She looked at her arm covered in blood. "Its time to get out of here." She made her way back down the fire escape this time making sure she stayed out of view.
Guest Midnight Rush
OOC: This is seriously breaking convention, however, with some thought and a consultation with one of our boards? foremost RPers, I have decided to end my run on this RP?. And take one of you down with me?. Yes, the great healer dude is going to burn. Song for this post: Headstrong, by Trapt; Gold Dust Woman, Fleetwood Mac for the end of the post. Sorry Cyriel! I promised you the kill of Draco, but as we discussed, I am saving face here, so IT WAS FUN! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHA Death of Uila? Maxwell Draco stood before the King Rat calmly. The ageing demon had been his ally for aeons, and now he was asking for one final favor. ?My greatest enemy is a master of life?. He acts as if he were God Himself! Controlling life and resurrecting a girl. I offer you my power, life, and resources for the ability to erase him permanently.? ?To kill one such as this? one who has power over life itself, you must have power over death itself. Why are you risking eternal damnation to kill one pathetic phoenix born?? ?Face.? ?You have face to spare.? ?No? he is an effrontery to my honor!? ?I will give you this power? in return for one thing.? ?Which is?? ?Make my son your heir.? ?Done.? Maxwell Draco said, fully aware of the fact that an accident would befall the King?s son? The King Rat spread his ancient arms, and began an incantation?. The smell of death grew to near unbearable levels, and it took all Draco had to resist dying himself. A huge black cauldron appeared (think Hades Summon Animation from FFVII) and a small red orb floated above it. This orb flew directly into Maxwell?s chest and he immediately began to burn a green fire. He was possessed by the Spirit of Death Himself, and nothing, not even a phoenix born, can resist its amazing power of Health Alteration. ?Well Maxwell, you now have the power to kill even one who is master of life. Shall I summon him into the Shadow Arena for a final reckoning?? The Voice of Maxwell Draco roared evil and immense power: ?It does not matter! BRING HIM ON!? The King Rat cast another spell and Draco found himself in a huge black arena, looking directly into the eyes of his foe. ?Well well well?.? Uila spoke. ?If it isn?t the wolf man.? ?Well met,? Draco sneered. ?its not often one meets a human?s pet.? Uila lunged, and Draco stood very still, allowing the weapon of Uila to bury itself in his flesh. As Uila twisted the blade, Draco laughed, feeling no pain. Draco?s hand reached out and grabbed Uila?s neck. ?Live and let die?? Draco said. His hand crushed Uila?s neck and caused Draco to smile as he watched the life run out of his enemy. The King Rat appeared. ?Draco, you are ready to go?? ?Strength and honor!? Draco roared. ?DIMENSIONAL PORTAL!? The KING Roared! A rift in space and time opened, revealing that it was a portal into the sun itself. As Draco jumped forth into it, he shouted ?From dust to dust, we are nothing!? As they fell through space towards the glowing orb of fire, Draco and Uila both disentigrated permanantely in its mighty heat.
