Princess Nadia
Last Saturday at the mall, I played the X-Box, heres what I thought of it.. THE GOOD: Munch's Oddysee Munch's Oddysee was ok. Abe and Munch start in diffrent parts of the level and have to throw switches to open doors and stuff for the other charecter. THE BAD: load times I was really shocked at the slow laod times, I mean were is all that power going? Maybe it's just Munch's Oddysee that has bad load times? Microsoft better hope so. THE UGLY: the controller The controller has to be the worst ever! its way to big and the useless xBox logo in the center of it isn't helping! the buttons are too small and it's impossible to tell them apart without looking down at the controller every few seconds! anyone who plays it for a long time are going to hurt there hands! it was hard to really get into Munch's Oddysee much with the stupid awkward excuse for vidoe game controller bugging me! the D-pad is aslo, of course bad, it the same D-pad used on Microsofts cruddy PC game pads! The analog back buttons were hard to push and and a game that use them alot well hurt your hands! well, thats it! still want a xBox? RicoTranzrig
Kick arse! My neighbor got a chance to play and tell also...the X-Box's eye candy looks really interesting from what you and my neighbor said...but yes, the load times and the controller were kind of awkward...

Pave-Low
The controller is one of the best parts of the new X-Box. Theres just somethign about it when you hold it in your hand it just fits perfectly, its like a missing body part being reattached. I know a bunch of people who feel this way too. X box will be great, When I played it the load times where no worse than PS2. and Munches oddessy loaded pretty fast. The graphics are great too. I like it cause it will blend the computer game market in with the console game market. On one last note, Nintendo really screwed the gamecube controller up. Wait until you get to try and play with it. They tried to copy the PS2 and just screwed it even more. I will not even think of buying a GC untill about a year after its launched cause I made the mistake of buying a 64 and only own a few games cause all the other where childrens games. Nintendo has tried to copy sony way to much this time.
NorykoAngelcry
It's sorta funny how you never really see yourself as biased, but can point out everyone else who is. I am not really directing this at anyone, but Pave-low's post sort of made me laugh. I picked up the X-Box controller, and had to set it right back down. It has the feeling of the Dreamcast controller, and I don't like that very much. I will have to try it again sometime, but the buttons are WAY too small. As for the Gamecube controller, I enjoyed it immensly! Everyone keeps on saying that it is a wanna-be Playstation controller - WRONG! The Playstation hurts the hand if you hold it longer then 5 seconds. The Gamecube controller fits in perfectly, and I could easily play the games and reach every button with out any problems. The L and R button are very nice as well, giving a nice feel when you press them. The C button takes a bit of getting used to, as it is more of an analog stick now then 4 individual buttons, but I am happy with how it feels as well. [EDIT] All in all, it comes down to personall preference. I can not tell you NOT to get an X-box, just as you will have no luck getting a Gamecube. If you feel 'said' system is better then the other ones, rock on! Have fun and enjoy the system, and don't worry about how others feel about it, it comes to how YOU enjoy it. Have fun~ *shuts up*[END EDIT]

Let me begin by saying -- if you prefer the Xbox controller over the GameCube controller...well...you must have freaky hands. lol Nintendo put a great deal of thought into the GameCube controller, where as MS simply took other people's ideas and moulded them into an incredibly inefficient and ugly piece of plastic. And your comment about the N64 was totally wrong. Two aspects to that, one was that some of the world's most innovative games appeared on N64 (Super Mario 64, Pilotwings, Wave Race, Zelda etc) and secondly, the GameCube will have over 20 games available before Christmas. That's actually MORE than the Xbox in the same period of time. Thirdly, by what you've said, you sound like a kid. Therefore, a "kid's" machine would surely suit you well. In my opinion, all you're doing is following Microsoft's corporate advertising. You don't seem to care about true innovation or creativity...all you're worried about is peripheral things like "style" and "image". Therefore, I conclude that you're not a true gamer. As even if a true gamer didn't like GameCube very much, they would still appreciate the thought which went into its design, as true gamers are able to get past all of the corporate rhetoric and appreciate the true machine underneath.

the xbox controller sucks, you have weird hands.... the load times are slow, especially on munch, you just see a lot of ads before the game starts.... the GC controller is fine, stop complaining, I like it just as much as my ps2 dual shock 2 pad, maybe even slightly better.... no, you only had a few games because you couldn't afford to get anymore since cartridges are expensive, many AAA titles on the n64, sure, some may be "kiddish" but is'nt it the gameplay that counts, rather than how a game looks.... and thats my 2 cents, like James said, you are not a true gamer.... Will2x
well yesterday i got my hands on an xbox controller. i thought it was gonna suck like most of uve said but to tell the truth i didnt notice it much. the game was some fotoball game i had to look down a few times to make sure im pressing the rite buttons. my hands felt warm and pretty comfortable and the joy stick was easy to move. i have pretty big hands so the xbox controller was pretty good. the only thing i didnt like was that big *** ugly logo that was in the center of the controller. i wanted to break it.. _Shiro Amada_
Food for thought: No ne slept overnight to buy X-Box, people did for Gamecube and PS2. I bought gamecube on sunday, the day it came out. And I had reserved it, X-Box's were there in bundles! I played X-BOX and the contrrols are like PS2, Dreamcast, Nintendo, and Atari Jaguar controls all in one. And the jewel thingy in the middle looks like something I would get for 25 cents in a gumball machine. X-BOX had loooong loading times, while GC's Rogue Leader and Luigi's Mansion ( I have) had zero load times, not even a loading bar, it just went black for three seconds and boom action time, Munch's Odyssey is way to crappy, its the equivalant of Ps2's Crash Bandicoot game; better graphics but the same old game.... Break
Urgh... Who would even want a controller welded together by the money of a billionare dork? Personally, the feel of the Gamecube controller in my hands was excellent... nearly the same as my trusty N64 controller. All this talk of 128bit consoles... too many! Best one I reckon has got to be Gamecube, X-Box the worst (because it's just like a PC! I will keep my PC THANK YOU)!
No-Name
no X-Box is cool. i didnt notice much about load times when i played it, but as for the controller, most conrollers feel weird the first time, i mean, admit it, N64's controller had to feel poorly shaped the first time u put your hands on it. I just think it's overpriced, plus ive already got a ps2, so i dont need nething more for awhile.
Defcon5
I dident like how the A,B,X,and Y buttons were so close together. you were always touching three of the buttons at the same time. Lord knows they have enough room on it. they should have spread those out a lot more.
