It truely doesn't matter...

Japanese: ?x?W[?^
Absolute, correct, perfect romanji: Bejiita
What it's meant to be: Vejita
How you correctly spell it: Bejita, Bejiita, Begita, begiita, Vejita, Vejiita, Vegita, Vegiita, Vegeta, Vegeeta, Begeta, Begeeta

Like I've said many times before, there can be NO wrong spelling for a name in Japanese. WHy? Because the Japanese language is based off of speaking.... Unlike english which is based off writing.... Thus to spell it correctly would be speling it so that it is pronounced the same all ways. All my examples above are pronounced the same, thus they are all spelled correctly.

HOWEVER I say Vegita :)

No, Squashed Snail, you actually can't be wrong. Vegeta is the most official romanized version of his name, so that's what most people go by.

Which brings up how Goku's name should be spelled. For quite a while, I've considered it to be Gokou, but due to my limited yet somewhat increasing knowledge of the Japanese langauge, that's pretty much wrong. Gokuu or Gokuh would be much more accurate.

as I have said many times in the past, there is no correct spelling for the characters names, but I say vegita, but to show my respect for the almighty vegita, I say vegita-sama....
Though I call him both Vegeta and Vegita I dont think people might care much. I think people are more into the anime. And where did you get that Vegita-sama? From Osama? that dude that sent those 3 suecidal people on airplanes to crash against the Twin Towers NY.?.......

no, I have been saying vegita-sama since I first joined the boards early may, and I have been saying it in other boards before that as well, way before this whol WTC incident, sama is actually japanese used to signify someone the same way as vegita-san is used, meaning mr, master, etc....

it is a title of respect, just as gokou can have Son Gokou before his name, as can anybody in his family.

Actually Son is Gokou's last name... Traditionally in Japan, the last name is said first...

What you are thinking of is "san"... Gokou-san.... which is to give a person a title.. -san in this case is to show respect, a friend, etc...

I see.. So then it would be Son Gokou-san?
Technically... however you won't ever hear it that way. the endings "-san" and well any ending is traditionally used after the first or last name only... as in not when they are accumpanied with each other...

So you'll hear "Son Gokou", "Gokou-san", or "Son-kun" throughout DragonBall.... Son-kun is what Bulma calls him.
