My opininon is that Final Fantasy 7 is the best of all the FF series.I haven't got Final Fantasy Tactics so there for I don't know if it's good or not. But I think every Final Fantasy game is fantastic, so there ay go.I've played everyone apart from Tactics,I have to get it!.......................

I agree with what Kuja always says, in that FF7 is a good game, but not a good Final Fantasy game, because it's too high-tech.

My choice isn't going to be too good here... The only FF games I have played are 7, 8, 9, and Mystic Quest . My choice out of those four would be FF9. Then 7, 8, then Mystic Quest...

Are you serious?

Final Fantasy IX was so easy...and the story was utter tripe. Even though I loved the battle system and the visual style, FFIX was easily the least interesting FF game in terms of story.

Final Fantasy VI had the best story. It was deep, twisting...and it really sucked me in. I loved every minute of it.

Final Fantasy VIII's story was so so. IX's story was probably better than VIII.

However, if you'd combined FFVII's clever story with FFIX's battle/graphic styles...well, then you'd have a true next gen Final Fantasy game :)

Yep...

I'm really looking foward to Final Fantasy X. I have no idea when it comes out in Australia (especially since the American launch is in early 2002 I think...), but I really can't wait.

X's visual style is more like FFVIII. But I didn't mind VIII's style. It was more artistic than VII's dark/gritty art style.

Final Fantasy X's battle system looks like it's going to be better than the old job system, and better than the system found in IX. It's more flexible and comprehensive. And the ability to switch to characters who are outside your direct party is a huge plus.

Jeese, I've only been here since August and I think this is spam (I've seen it before or twice or maybe three times). Anyways if you want my honest opinion I liked FF8 *ducks all the flying tomatos*

There is a reson to my madness thought. It was really the first ff game that I played and enjoyed it caught my attention much more than ff7 did and to be a great RPG it has to grab you from the beggining and ff7 didn't do that (to me). I only beat it after I beat ff8. Also I liked the graphics better :).

Yeah, and ff9 was easy and the story was kinda boring.

My favorite is FFIII, because of the cool story and all the character depth. Each character had his or her own story, which is usually pretty long. I thought that was really cool.
I also like the magic system the best out of all the FF games, and I liked how the world blows up. At first it pissed me off, but now I think its kind of a cool plot twist.

Oh man, FF games are the best, PERIOD!
(But I don't suppose we will include FF Chronicles in all this mess, will we? ChronoTrigger was seriously one of the best SNES games.)
OK, not done with FF9 yet, so my vote is...
FF7 (replaying that as we type), FF9 (excellent FMVs)/ChronoTrigger (I consider it FF fodder), FF3
Anything else I have not played.
Well....I'm trying to get interested in FF6 (4?--eh, whichever one was included in FFChronicles), but it is not working...

no, ff7 didn't have much in the sense of love, there was no romantic kiss between sephiroth and tifa....
