No_Regrets
I was looking over the Member list off in my nifty sidepanel, and this question came to my mind..... I noticed the labels under people's names' like 'New Member' or 'Member' or 'Moderator'....and I noticed me and my friends were not on the member list. Is that because we are new members? How do you become a member? Is it posts? or do you like, get promoted? I was asking Dagger and she told me to put this up here. Thankx No_Regrets
Roxie Faye
I presume it's because you're a "New Member" and not a regular one yet; though a mod will probably come along to clarify this. I do know you become a member after a certain number of posts, so if you just keep posting you'll get there soon.
Burori
I gather it is from the posts. For example I know a few people here who have been here almost as long as me during version 6 and now in version 7 they are still 'new Members' I'm sure Julius Caesar (James) can clairfy that..Just my thoughts on it. I hope I'm right cause to tell you the truth, I am taking a wild guess on what it is based on.
G/S/B Master
You're a new member because you haven't posted 20 times. James has wiped all spammy post from past versions, so that most member's post count is down. Also some accounts got wiped from Otakuboards too.
James
As far as I know, you do need to post 20 times to be listed on the site's member list. This is just to ensure that erronous members (people who join and never post) aren't put on there automatically. So if you stick around and post a bit, you'll be listed on there in no time.
BlueYoshi
Just wondering, is that an automated process or do you actually put the membership in yourself?

Prince Van
That is a bit weird I posted over 80 times before I became a member and appeared on the member's list. This is classed as on-topic right?

I think that was in OB6, though I'm not sure. Actually, I believe you were automatically listed in that version. Maybe you just missed your name...? I can't think of any explanation other than that. Hevn
Just wondering... what is the reason why "Member" is the highest rank non-moderators/admins get? Other forums got "Senior Members" or something like that, depending on the number of posts I guess. ^_^x
Baron Samedi
Well, ya see, we used to have that. Start as a Newbie, become Junior Member, Member, Otaku, Extreme Otaku, No Life...and some more levels. But, this version of OB is focused on quality more...which is why they don't show post-count anymore under your name. Essentially, everyone will become a member eventually. The whole cool bit is the personalised Tags you can make. Be happy with that, at least.
