Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band

Does anyone else here like Captain Beefheart's music, or even know who he is? He did some work with Frank Zappa. He was on the album "Hot Rats", and I think he and Frank Zappa did a live album together. His style of writing music is very weird to say the least.

I believe an Amazon.com reviewer described his music as being like one of those Magic Eye posters. He said it was multi-dimensional music. I don't know if I would agree with that 100%, but I understand what he's getting at, and it comes pretty close to describing it.

Right now the only album of there?s I have is "Mirror Man Sessions", but I was going to get "Trout Mask Replica" sometime soon.
