...for me, I prefer both but I'd go with anime. With anime you have more indepth visual things going on, you can feel the emotions of the seiyuus as they perform...and with manga, sure the artwork is great, but it's different, it's another level.

I like both, but if I had one, it'd be anime.

While I do like both, I'm going with manga on this one. Manga's allowed to move at a slower pace than anime and as such, can develop characters more and put in more little extras here and there which you can't always get with anime. I've usually found that the story is told better in manga format as well.

I do love anime though, especially if it's based on a manga I've read. It's nice to see characters you love moving around and to compare the anime and manga with each other while watching.

If you said that to me like right here i would say that wasn't even a questino cause both of them are me cause its just weird.I say watching anime gives me encourage ment and manga gives me ideas so those 2 equal a comic that i am trying to make at the moment.

Everyone has good ideas and reasons. I like anime-but manga has one advantage. You never miss an episode and worry about it coming on later. My bro bought me A Shonen Sunday book of Inuyasha from Japan. My goal now is to learn to read it! It has some cool pics in it!But it's entirely in Japanese and read from back to front! :animecry:

I prefer both.
Manga puts out a story with almost unlimited possiblities. It usaly has better abilty to tell a story then anime, cuase its not limited buy buget, only time. lol

Anime on the other hand can bring the story to life with motions and voices.

The only way to get all of it is to buy a manga, then watch the anime. Inuyasha is a good one to do that. Also Yu Yu and Kenshin.

Well I can't certainly bring anime with me wherever I go so I opt for manga instead. In cases where the manga was released before the anime, I find that the comics version is a lot more understandable and complete than the animation series. There were a lot of parts in Yami no Matsuei (anime) that, until I was finally able to procure a copy of the manga, sounded/felt really illogical.

Anime, on the other hand, makes the characters a bit more tangible than they would be in manga-form. They are finally given voices and are fleshed out. Makes whatever transformation that takes place easier to see, yeah?

If I was going for the story, I'd stick to the manga version but if I'm more interested in the characters themselves, I'll go get the anime (and keep the manga as a supplement).

Do I like anime or manga better?

That's one of those questions that are
way too hard to answer on just one favor.

I like Manga a lot because, usually, the manga
has more information in the book than in the
anime. And sometimes the art in the book
is much better than in the show.

And I like Anime a lot, because, you get
to see the books come to life and they
move in the show.

Sorry I couldn't just pick one...

I have to say I like manga more... I love reading. Like really.
Also because you can use it almost anywhere! And you dont need anything else to use it. Just your eyes and head, y'know?
But when it comes to anime/western cartoons, I'd rather watch them than soap opera or reality tv or a sitcom. But when it comes to manga and western comics, I wouldn't always choose it over a novel.

Well, I like manga a lot, but I like the anime of my favorite manga better because you can hear the characters voices, see the actual sweat drops dropping down from their forehead and the sounds and music of the whole episode going on. Needless to say, I laugh at an anime way harder than a manga. For some reason, it's just funnier. :animesmil

Hmm... a toughie... I do like anime as it moves and it's on TV and you can actually hear the characters talk and whatnot (cuts down on the actual amount of work one has to do, don'cha know!:catgirl:) but I do like manga a lot as well (it's portable, you can read it wherever there is light, you can draw stuff from it without having to hit the "pause" button, and it costs less.)
But each has it's ups and downs: anime done in America is sometimes so horribly maimed that one wants to stab their eyes out with a dull pencil (or in my case, rant to whomever has the bad fortune to be nearby.) This is the case with Shaman King, Tokyo MewMew, One Piece, CardCaptor Sakura, and in my opinion, Naruto, due to the amount of dialouge changes and over dramatics.
But with manga, sometimes there's so much detail in the artwork, that it's near impossible to tell what's going on (like Trigun. I love it dearly, but I can hardly understand what's happening because of all the detail in the background.)
Others, however, it's impossible to think one better than the other. Such is the case for my with Fullmetal Alchemist. The manga and anime were deliberatly made to be different from one another, and I love it.:animesmil
I know there really was no point in me posting this, as I really can't decide, but I figured I might at least post my opinion. (I do hate the fact, though, that I can never find volume one of Chrono Crusade, and volume seven of the manga has yet to be published in English. Curse you, evil people who publish too slow!! :animeangr

I enjoy both for different reasons.

I find collecting manga a fun thing to do. It feels like I own a piece of the universe when I do that, and it's cheaper than a DVD version. However, the downfall of manga is that it's hard to follow the hectic battles (Naruto, Gundam, Vagabond), and this is where anime comes in.

I like watching anime solely because it's easier to follow than a manga. The battles aren't chopped up into frames, and so the exchanges go much more smoothly than that of a manga. On top of that, there are just some animes that you can find on TV that you can't find in the manga aisle.

I guess you can say I like both but I do prefer anime over manga. I like to see things in motion over imagining what's going on. Another thing I don't really care for about the manga is that all of them are in black and white. Sometimes the black in some pictures can be way too dark to see all the details. (Mainly speaking about Bleach.... Maybe it's because of the quality???) Anyways... I'd like to see some mangas be done in color.

I prefer anime over manga, because everything's much more alive in it. Manga are kind of static, like western comic books as well. In anime, everything is in motion and you have much more goodies. You get to see the characters and background in colour, you get opening songs, ending songs, musical pieces,...

I find that I prefer anime to manga...
but... i think it is an issue of time and space.
While I do generally watch anime first, and read the manga second, I find that buying manga can be expensive...and it clutters my already overstocked bookshelf.
I will read through a manga rather quickly
while it will take me hours to watch an anime series
and... I wish i could say days...but there have been times when I've been very attracted to a particular series so I watched it in its entirety in one sitting...>.<

Kind of bad perhaps, but it seemed necessary at the time

However... I will confess that there have been times when I've preferred a manga to the anime version... or rather when I find that the anime leaves out more than I think it should from the manga...

But I would still consider myself an anime fan first, manga second.

And I have been watching anime for most of my life... ever since I was a little girl... they used to show anime on sci fi or somethin so some of the first anime I saw was Akira, Sailor Moon, and a few other various series
