AnimeForever198
undefinedundefined I can't choose. I've been inlove wtih Anime and Manga since I was six. So I can't decide. My parents yell at me when I watch t.v. cuz it's Anime. So I read Mangas. Then they can't complain. Until they find out that I'm actully reading. I just can't win.
Guest Faye022
:D I love watching anime but I also love mangas. I gess it depends....If the art &/or voiceovers are good I'll watch anime, but if they suck you can forget about it. The only exception I have to this is Kyo's Journey. The plot is so good that I forget the art. now you can't beat that! Anyway, manga sometimes has incredible artwork so I can spend as long as I want reading idolizing over it! So to answer the question, I'll have one or the other depending on many factors and my mood. Thanks for ya time! ;)
Dragongurl930
i'd say manga...that way if my mom asks wut im doing, i tell her im reading... :D but when i get too lazy too read i just watch anime... Sara
When I read manga, I usually "ration" myself to only a bit at a time. Almost exactly like Dagger said--I read very quickly, and when I go through something very fast (as it's almost impossible not to do with manga) I'm left a little disappointed. I do love looking at the drawings, though, and I find myself being able to appreciate the artwork a great deal. The lack of color is an interesting point, because I often imagine things with certain looks, only to find out that my mental image has got characters' hair (or outfits, or fur...heh) all the wrong colors. So that's rather irritating. (Not necessarily on the side of the manga, but that the anime got my colors wrong, heh.) In general, I would rather have manga than anime, I think, because I just don't like watching television or movies alone. Reading, on the other hand, is a very enjoyable solo activity. I enjoy watching things, of course, but only with friends. Having anime on DVD (that I woudln't really enjoy watching alone) seems like a waste. puppy dog tails, Sara
Venge
I've read very little manga (the only ones I've read are a few Poke'mon ones and a Yu-Gi-Oh! one out of Shonen Jump), but I've watched much anime. I really think it goes with personal taste in this matter, whether you like to read and slowly absorb the story and movemets, or you like to watch everything go at a faster pace. I'd rather watch the anime because those 'filler' episodes as some call may actually be funny, even though they may tend to go away from the story line. But like most of you said, the 'fillers' can be annoying. Anime: 7/10 Manga: 5/
Meggido
For me it depends on the style of the anime or manga. Sometimes a manga is better than the show and then sometimes it is the other way around. This is why I like both styles equally. Both usually have their own styles of jokes and since the anime is usually on based on the manga their are always some differences.
Godelsensei
I tend to prefer manga over anime, when it comes to most titles, as I can, like Sciros said, stare at the pictures for longer. That said, I, like Skippedry, tend to check the quality of the art when it comes to manga, before buying it. I prefer the Comic Party anime over the manga and the Naruto manga over the anime, though, so I can't generalize.
Monkey_Orange
I started out with watching Anime first. Afterwards, I moved into the area of reading manga -- and pretty much prefer it over it's animated equivalent. With manga, both the artwork and story is more detailed -- of course, since it's the original, right? I find that the animated equivalent usually tones down/or simplify the original art. As the stories, details are usually omitted to save time...and let's not forget the insertion of meaningless fillers. HOWEVER, there are certainly other times when I prefer to watch anime over the manga. Actually, let me correct myself ^^;; I find that Anime is a good supplement to the manga series. Some people may dismiss this as repeatition, but it's true for myself. There are certain series with wonderful music, which is not provided when reading manga. Also, sometimes I get a bit lazy when it comes to rereading some of manga -- therefore my simple brain turns to watching the Anime. Sport Manga series are also best when animated -- I just find them more entertaining and amusing [like Prince of Tennis and Slam Dunk]. Okay. That's about it.
Guest Mystical p-chan
Both are fun to read and watch. Sometimes I prefer to watch the anime. But sometimes the anime has something wrong with it or irregular like the voices are all weird. Example, Love Hina. The voices are all southern, and doesn't sound right at all. But it's always fun to read all the different kinds of styles and stories, y'know? Also a nice way to collect something of your favorite series. Not to mention that it's portable to link yourself in while your at school without a DVD player there. ^_^ We hope, but cannot deny the truth! Either way, I like anime better, despite it being more expensive.
kagome1111
I love to watch anime better than manga .Because I think is more fun !!some times I watch manga too,but not that much. :) [b]Welcome to OtakuBoards, kagome1111. 3v1l.l33t
I like watching the anime but to explore a new series I read manga. It's cheaper than anime and sometimes has more. And besides there is enough anime on TV and at my freinds homes' to get me through. ^^
Guest Edward1066
..that's a hard question, but I'm gonna go with manga. The anime usually has some parts that are left out from the manga, sometime those parts are even good...but then again, with anime, you don't have to pick up your arm and flip the page... SaiyanDestroya
I like tow atch anime, but it seems to always stray away from the original story that comes from the manga. So, I like to watch the anime, then read the manga to "finish" the story lol.
Guest MajorAlchemyFan
That's a tough question.... I kinda enjoy both. Anime is on all the time and it's just real cool to watch the characters being acted out, but like others have said they do leave alot of info out. Manga on the other hand, has all the info you need, but for people who aren't major book readers like me they might not enjoy the series so well. It's all opinion though, so it's up to the people to decide!
jedite
I like both, because the anime, you can see the action scenes in animation. But, the manga tends to give more clearer and information about the plot, then its anime counterpart.
Eternal Snow
I like both too..... mainly anime because it is animated... and i get to listen to the cute voice actors :D and has more action and meaning and the songs!!! Let's not forget about the opening/ending songs that the people sing for every episode of the anime series!! Manga's nice... mainly because it tells me more than what the anime does.... :)
Brooklyn
I prefer manga for many reasons. You can look at the pictures longer and get a better chance to look at the artwork. Also it may be because I don?t have cable or satellite or any way of watching TV, but I tend to read the manga first and get a mental picture of how they talk, what color what is and the story line. Then I see the show and it?s not how I imagined it. Also in manga the storyline tends to be better in my opinion.
Guest Otherworld7
I think it depends on what series it is. For Yu Yu Hakusho, the anime is much better than the manga, but for Fruba, the manga is better. I think it all depends on whether or not you mind reading. a good way to find out if you prefer anime or manga would be to read a Harry potter book adn then watch the movie that goes with that book. surel, this is not an anime, but hear me out. If you are not patient enought to read the book, but are able to sit through the movie, you probably will prefer anime to the manga. If you like the books better and complain about how the movies take out so much good stuff (like i do) you probably will prefer manga. But as i said before, alot of it also depends on what series it is.
Guest mega-matt
Hard question...um more for Manga. I like the art work in some of the Mangas. for example FLCL Manga is in sketchy art. I like that...but Anime is cool because its in action...man hard question...
Guest Leer
I personally prefer Manga because you USALLY get to see what happens later in the story and stay up to date with it. I like reading so i guess thats why I would choose Manga over Anime, although anime is fun to watch.
aznpennywatcher
i think i prefer anime because i was introduced to it first. i was in first grade and the pokemon franchise had reached its highest, in my opinion. i never really got manga. i bought one manga volume of inuyasha and i didnt understand it easily because the fight scenes were hard for me to imagine. but my friend says that the manga story lines are A LOT better, due to the fact that many girls wanted a lot out of the anime and not the manga. it just makes the manga version much more realistic. for example, in inuyasha kagome and inuyasha kiss. that would take a really long time in manga. the anime was supposed to be based on the manga but they messed up the story line. :babble:
Excel
Manga. I like sometimes reading stuff than actualy seeing it and many of our american translated anime is being cencored down more each and everyday. Manga isnt that bad in the censore. Plus manga is cheaper in some way and still if you dont want to buy it read it at the store
Aya-kun is mine
Hmm i guess its a bit of a tie. I mean manga is great you normaly get to see more in it than you do in the anime which is good. Anime is also good as well seeing them moving and talking is good, but it doesn't have as much in it than the manga I guess my choose if i had to make one would be manga
shamanluver
both anime and manga are good dey both make me laugh. :D but anime is when uwanna have a joke an manga is when u wanna get serious and interested in the program. i really dont no which 1 is prefer.
