Burori
Okay. Today I had the difficulty of logging in. The standard "You must wait 15 minutes before signing in again." Popped up on my screen. However that is not what I am typing about. I waited a goof 14 minutes then tried only to see the message pop up again. I thought another minute would do and waited only to find out I had the same message up again. I spoke with James and he knows of the complaint I gave. (And Boy did he hear my say in it lol) He gave me a few suggestions and all failed. I then restarted my computer and when I tried again the bloody message appeared again. I then waited for a good 20 minutes almost and it suceeded with after numerous failures. My question and thought to you is. Does the timeline of 15 minutes restart if you try to sign in before the actual minutes pass? If so. THAT IS SO DAMN STUPID!!!!!! Sorry for that outburst. Is there any way you could change that? The minutes to wait are okay and I got the small lecture of how and why we have the security but I was wondering if you can remove the restarting of the time. I thank you for your patience and response.

I have not a clue how or why it happened. I have always used my cookies for this case. Plus now I am making sure that this PoS computer will keep them this time. Burori: Clearly the problem has to do with your computer, as opposed to the actual website. I'd suggest poking around in all of your Internet-related settings and making sure someone hasn't specified that certain folders should automatically clear after a given period of time. ~Dagger~
Burori
My thoughts too. But my question of the matter was if the timer on the 15 minute marker to resign in restarted before the time was up and if they could remove that if posible. Thanks for the back up Dagger ^_^ lol. If you're not going to offer friendly insight then simply don't reply. People seem to develop this idea that being a long-term member automatically makes them exept from our most basic behavioral guidelines. They're not flexible; they apply to everyone. Keep that in mind for future reference.
jblessing
Now, to actually answer your question and ignore any sarcastic comments... To my understanding, how vBulletin handles the whole "login strikes" system is if you attempt to login more than 5 times it won't allow you to login for 15 minutes. I am pretty certain that if you attempt to login during those 15 minutes, you are not penalized an addition 15. Once the original 15 expire, you get another opportunity to login. Of course, you get 5 more chances to get your password right. What might of happened in your case could revolve around your browsers cache. vBulletin may actually of let you login, but your browser probably was showing you what was cached. Hope this helps.
