Patronus
I've just listened to an old cd of mine, which happened to be Michael Jackson's History, and realized that I had forgotten how much I loved his music. His voice is incredible and his songs aren't the pop, no-meaning, lovey-dovey songs of today. My favorite songs so far have to be Black or White and Man in the Mirror, both having a great meaning behind them. His voice is great, as I've mentioned, and I can't get over it. Post your comments on this artist, and I remind you, don't discuss the media coverage, okay? Just about his music. Thanks. ^^
Doukeshi
I think that Michael Jackson's music will be with us forever in the anthologies of history, much like Elvis and the Beatles. His music was so powerful, it appeals to everyone and I do mean everyone. Young, old, whether you like rap, metal, rock or pop you like Michael Jackson. That man had supreme talent no mistaking that. May favourite song at the moment is the one he did with Slash from Guns 'n' Roses..the title slips my mind briefly as I write this. I love the guitar solo in it and the passion in Mikes voice when he sings. Priceless stuff.
Guest lavalamp
To be honest, I never saw anything amazing about Michael Jackson's voice. People always cited the fact that he was a talented dancer but I thought his dances were rather cheesy and lacked any sort of discipline. I never understood why people thought so much of him but I guess to sell as many records as he has internationally he had to be something special. Manic Webb
I recently bought the special edition CD re-release of Off The Wall, his first solo album. It includes all of the original tracks (which are pure gold, mind you), and the demo recordings of "Working Day & Night" and "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" he made, with Randy and Janet performing the instruments. Michael Jackson, in my opinion, is a good writer of both lyrics and music. Plus he's a good singer. His dancing was actually more structured a few decades ago than it is today. If you look at MJ dance today, you might think he's having a seizure. But if you look at the video to "Bad" (circa 1987), the choreography is based closely off of the dances from West Side Story. The fact that he looks like he's choking on his own insanity nowadays only contributes to my theory that the real Michael Jackson was kidnapped 15 years ago and replaced by a pale substitute. :p
Hevn
He looks way better off when he was doing the Thriller video... I mean, why go white? His current image is really turning me off and sometimes proves the lack of sincerity in the meaning of his songs but hey I wouldn't deny that he's a phenomenon in the music industry. He's a great entertainer and his songs are unique. In a nutshell, I love the songs but not the man. All time favorite (and made me even cry when I was a kid) is Heal the World, Man in the Mirror and They Don't Care about us. Oh and his music videos are very original too. Some are simple while some are really extravagant but all are pure original. ^_^x
