The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want; He makes me to lie down in green pasturesmakes me to lie down in green pastures

The train roled through the nght mists of Tokyo, a knife slicing the thin veil the city wore. As it rolled over a bridge, the reflection bounced off the water below, a series of flashes of lights in the darkness. It seemed to say Herald, Redeemer.
On the train, man sat straight up, reading a small, dog-eared copy of the bible. The collar around his neck denoted him as a priest of Christianity. His long duster coat settled around him in a loose curatain, and his hair fell as a veil in front of his eyes.

He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

A suitcase sat at his feet. Simple, leather with brass corners. On it was stamped aTemplar's cross in gold leaf atop a skul broken just below the eyes. The priest sighed and flipped the page on the bible. The few other passengers on the train shudder when they heard the man sigh, a harsh, desolate thing, like a corpse singing.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

The man looked up as he heard a voice. It was a stewardess, a pretty young thing with soft brown hair, though he didn't really acknowledge it. She said something in the twisting tongue of Japan, and he merely waved her on, going back to his bible. The woman shuddered and did carry on.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou anointest my head with oil, my cup overflows.

The train began to come to a halt and the priest stood up, walking towards the exit. it slid open smoothly and the cold night air hit him like a wall. Another stewardess stood just outside the door and babbled something, to which the priest simply nodded and gave the Sign of the Cross, a quick, absent minded flick of the wrist. He could smell something on the air, sweet, sickly, devious. Dimitri gravier stepped out of the train.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Tonight, he would hunt.

Lala wandered aimlessly through Tokyo, glad for the night's curtain. Her eyes roamed over everything before her, the cars and their drivers honking angrily at her as she meandered down the streets, silence with a glance from those over-bright green orbs. But she always looked away quickly, afraid of what she might see in a reflection.
"No, no, no. No more reflections, no more Sight, no more eyes," she muttered, winding towards the train station.
She stared at the floor, trying to avoid eye contact with anyone. "Oh, seems I will have to find someone here. Is that why you've brought me here?" She stopped and gazed at her reflection in the tiles. A pair of fiery eyes replaced her own and the reflection nodded.
"Really? Let's see, let's see. Will you lie again? I hate the lies, they lead to you, always to you."
Again, the reflection nodded.
"Truly? Is it him then? The one we Saw?"
It seemed as if the reflection was to nod again, but she looked away.
"Methinks I hath seen the Answer. Or could it be an Omen? Or is it just a man with a book?" She walked up to Dimitri, head cocked to the side. "Are you the one I'm looking for?"

Hiroshi walked through the streets of town, her head low and her eyes set on the pavement. She stood our fairly well with her burning red hair and piercing blue eyes and was receiving stares from others in the street.
She bit her lip and frowned, she hated being looked at, watched....judged, for she knew that's what they were doing.
People always judged, no matter how pure their intentions were that's what they always did and Hiroshi hated it.

She pulled her long coat around her to protect her from a cool breeze, she shivered, 'Strange,' she thought to herself as she looked at the sky, 'It didn't seem to be cold before....'
She continued along her way, making sure not to hit anyone while she wasn?t looking up at them.
She was concentrating so hard on the pavement that she didn't notice someone running towards her.

Before she knew it she was flat on her backside with a searing pain in her stomach, she looked up and apologised before even seeing who had hit her,
"Gomen," she said apologetically, bowing her head, "That was my fault."

OOC: Maybe the next one who posts should be the one who knocked her over? You know, so that the characters can get familiar with each other, just an idea anyway.

"Oh, pardon me miss. I wasn't paying attention," said Daki as he helped the woman he knocked over back to her feet.
"My name's Daki. Who might you be?"
There was no response. Daki turned to walk away, but he stopped as he heard the woman say "My name is Hiroshi."
"Nice to meet you Hiroshi. Where are you headed?"
Again there was no response. "Well wherever you are going, I'll escort you. I feel I should seeing as i knocked you over. It seems a storm is coming...we better hurry."

The two began walking down the street when Daki heard something...it sounded like a struggle of some sort. He turned to Hiroshi and said "I'll be right back. I'm gonna go check this out." Daki ran off and noticed that Hiroshi was following. He didn't have and problem with it. He is actually becoming a little attracted to Hiroshi. Well Daki and Hiroshi arrive at the source of the sound but there is nothing but a dark alley. "You stay here, Hiroshi. I'll go check it out." Daki wanders into the alley and, using his fire control ability, creates a light for him to see what is there. He lights the fire, and is almost instantly knocked back about twenty feet, back to the street. "Hiroshi run. There's a Wampyr in the alley. It's too dangerous." Daki draws his katana and runs back into the alley, preparing for battle. He engulfs the blade of his katana in flames but the Wampyr had run off.

He walked back to the street and sheathed(sp?) his sword. "It's escaped. That could've been my one lead. Damnit all."

OOC: I changed my mind, Colour. ^_^ Hope its okay!

Alexis walked silently across the train platform. She and her cousins, Drake and Drew, were waiting for her uncle and their dad, Sydney. Her two older cousins stood on eather side of her protectively. Drake was 17 and Drew was 19. Drake put an arm around her waist, and she leaned on him.

The trains were coming and going, and the cold air that came and went before and after them was harsh. Crisp ? like a teachers scolding. She pulled her aunts jacket tight about her shoulders as another train came in. She muttered, ?Where is he? He?s late!?

A man stepped off the train, and the trio of teens ran over to him. ?Uncle Sydney!? ?Dad!? The three hugged the tall man, and he ruffled his nieces hair. ?Well! Good to see you all again.? Drew asked, ?How did your conference go?? Sydney chuckled. ?Lets go get something to eat and drink, and I?ll tell you.?

They four of them went to a little coffee shop on the way to the house. They all sat, a platter of cinnamon rolls between them. Alexis sipped her French Vanilla coffee, while Drake and Drew had cocoa. Sydney had straight black coffee.

"Feh," spat Kuroichi. "Stupid hunter thinks he can stop me? Fool. I should've killed him where he stood."

Kuroichi had leapt high atop a building, and peered down upon the city. The metallic taste of blood still floated in his mouth, making him want more. He hadn't had time nearly enough for a good meal.

Gray eyes flashing, he scanned the crowd, seeking his next victim. He ran his tongue over his fangs in anticipation.

"Where's a good one...?"

The moon swept down upon the city, illuminating the populace. It was a matter of reading the weak humans. Figuring out who is most vulnerable, alone, impressionable. All about finding one he could manipulate and control long enough for the blood to flow.

The moon made everything shine in its silver glow. The silver. Silver defined Kuroichi as a creature of the night. His hair was his definition, his calling card. He was widely known.

Wampyre?

Yes. With silver hair.

Damn that Kuroichi!

Then he spotted the next. The perfect victim.

She was alone, dressed rather poorly, and had an aura of depression. She was jostled and pushed along in the crowd, ignored and abused.

"One kind word from a handsome stranger, and she'll be putty in my hands."

Quickly and silently, Kuroichi dropped from the roof and melded with the crowd. He spotted her almost immediately.

"Excuse me, miss?" he said, voice soft and warm.

"Yes?" she said, looking at him. The aura of sadness was palpable this close.

"You seem a bit, jostled here. Can I help you where you are going?"

"I dont want to trouble you..."

"No trouble! Here," he said, reaching out. "Let me take your hand."

With the application of a little kindness, a little warmth, and a dazzling smile, anyone could fold.

As she did.

Mere minutes later, the two were inside her small apartment.

"Let me make you some tea," she said. The aura was rapidly disappating.

"Oh, that's fine. Actually, I had something else in mind," Kuroichi said, menace crawling into his voice.

The woman whirled and faced him.

"What do you want?" she cried. "Money? Sex?"

"Blood," the vampire hissed.

In one swift move, he drew his katana that she had carelessly missed seeing, slitting her throat. Blood burst from the wound, spilling over her clothes and flesh.

"Let's not let that tasty blood go to waste," the silver-haired demon said, licking his fangs.

He decended upon her, biting over the wound, and drinking deep. She gurgled and managed to sob a view tears before Kuroichi crushed her windpipe. Blood flowed down into his mouth, filling his empty belly and revitalizing him with the sweet, metallic taste.

He could feel his strength returning, revilatlizing him, empowering him once more. As the blood coursed through his body, he felt alive again.

After 10 full minutes of feeding his pulled away from her drained corpse. Blood was caked on her, and the thick liquid dripped from Kuroichi's face.

He walked swiftly into the bathroom and clensed his face and hands, then his katana.

"Another night, another satisfying meal," he said, chuckling. His low, sadistic laugh was not the last sound ever heard in the ramshackle apartment, but in was the sound that would haunt forever.

OOC: that was a great post Xion.

"That bastard got away from me...but he couldnt have gone far."

Daki walked Hiroshi to a bench and they sat down.

"What was that about, Daki?" Hiroshi asked.

"It was a Wampyre. Better known as a vampire. It had killed a young girl and drained the body of its blood in that alley. I was too late to save her. I lit a flame to see what had transpired and the next thing i knew i was lying in the street. I charged back into the alley and enflamed my katana to do battle but it had vanished"

"C...can i see your katana?"

Daki looks toward Hiroshi hesitantly. After a few moments to consider, Daki hands her the katana. Hiroshi unsheaths it and her eyes grow wide.

"How is the blade red? This is amazing!" Hiroshi says.

Daki tells of how his parents were slain by demons and the red on the blade is Wampyre blood and of how it wouldn't wash off...thus making the blade red.

"That's horrible...wait...earlier you said that you enflamed your sword...how can you do that?"

"Well about 6 or 7 years ago, I went to the mountians to train with monks. They taught me to control the element: fire. I can manifest fire and manipulate it and use it as a weapon or shield or something as simple as a light."

"That's amazing," said Hiroshi.

"I think we should head on to our destination. Where am I to escort you?" asked Daki.

"Just back to my apartment I suppose." replied Hiroshi.

"Let's go then."

Daki walked Hiroshi back to her apartment and then headed to his home. When he arrived, his front door was busted down. Daki drew his katana and charged into his house cautiously. He looked on the wall to his left and read "I'm watching"...it was written in blood...

Fas was certain he smelled feline? mixed in with? an overwhelming amount of that horrid concoction that the humans seemed to consume in such large quantities. But this was no ordinary feline he sensed? no? he was certain it was a Lycan. The thought of a Lycan living amongst the Innocents immediately stirred his blood. He had been ambling in and out of the alleyways of Tokyo?s Ginza shopping district, in search of rats for his meal, when he sensed the Lycanthorpe. He couldn?t see her, and really didn?t need to. He gave one last passing snort, showing what he thought about the Lycan, and continued on his way.

On his first steps into the city he had already sensed another Lycan? now THAT time he could barely control his urge to force the Lycan to reveal itself to the humans surrounding it. It seemed to Fas that too many Lycans were just adapting themselves to live like the humans. Did none of them care about their lineage? their honour? Why subject their selves to such abasement? At the very least, Fas lived outside the city, where he could rest easy in his natural form. However, he reminded himself that he had been asking these questions for centuries now, and that no answer would come anytime soon. For the moment finding some nourishment was the first step.

He usually went into the city for food, as there always seemed to be an overwhelming amount of rats and other creatures amongst the humans? they lived like such pigs. ?They might as well all be Lycan-Swine in costant human form!? he had laughed to himself millions of times now. However, it occurred to him that in the past couple of days, there had been an inordinate amount of animals fleeing the city at night. It seemed he could have just stayed out of the city and feasted today, but almost out of habit, Fas made his daily trip into the city. Perhaps something was happening soon? he had felt and heard as much? that something was gathering here?

BLOOD.

Fas immediately stopped in his tracks. He could feel that inner cry of rapture from somewhere nearby. His hand immediately shot-out and grabbed the closest passer-by, ?What is around us? Tell me now!? He could feel the tiny wrist struggling against his grip, and could feel the surprise the female human felt at his strength. ?A?a?apartments.? He released the grip and heard her running away. He could suddenly feel the anger building around him, he heard a number of people walking around him muttering ugly obscenities ? then suddenly, the people forgot he was ever there? not really forgot, but just didn?t care that he was there. He hated using his abilities like this, but this was something he had to confirm for himself.

With the slightest shudder, black scales began covering his body, crawling out from underneath his skin. Another shudder, and he could feel his legs and body growing, could feel his fingers dislocating and stretching, could feel the bones inside his body breaking and reforming?

With a blink of his white eyes, they suddenly turned to pure black? except for his pupils, which saw more than most. He blinked again to orient himself, and looked up. Wampyr. He could practically see it up in one of the apartments. He took one more look at his destination and then slid into the shadow underneath him.

As an afterthought, a hand slid back out of the ground and retrieved the remains of his clothing that were torn to pieces.

He came out into an apartment, a body caked in dried blood directly in front of him. He heard water running in the bathroom accompanied by laughter. Maybe now Fas would finally get some information from this Wampyr, whatever it took.

((OOC: Very nice posts, people, and Goddess, it's perfectly alright for you to come back. Welcome back!))

Dimitri walked the streets of Tokyo without noticing it's glam and glitter. The brights lights to snare the soul. The millions of people crowding around him. These things no longer confused of worried him as they once did. His suitcase felt heavy in his hands, the contents wishing to be released up the devils of this city, as they ached to cleanse the world of the Dwellers. He uncrumpled a piece of paper with one hand and looked at the scribbled writing on it.

"Sakura Falls Apartments,
the Danse have made accomadations for you.
Vahnhels."

Dimitri didn't know what Vahnhels' real name was. All f the Danse Macabre went under pseudonyms, to protect the group as a whole. He was Grimoire, and the writer of the not was Vahnhels. That was all that they needed to know about each other.

"Are you the one I'm looking for?" a young, female voice asked him.

Dimitri snapped out of his stupor to see a young woman looking at him, head cocked slightly to the side. A bird confounded by her own reflection. He looked evenly at her. The light of insanity burned ever so slightly in the back of her eyes.

"I am Grimoire."

The girl giggled, putting her hands over he mouth like a child

"No your not. You are the Book Man."

The weight of the bible in his pocket bore down on his like a cannonball. He sighed and brushed past her, but she skipped and looked at him in the eye.

"I've been looking for you, Book Man." she said, smiling.

"Oh? And why would that be, young lady?" he asks, wlaking by her. She stays rigt next to him, looking genuinely perplexed.

"I...don't know. I just look in he mirror and I...feel things. But I knew I'd find you here." she said, sincerely proud of herself.

She is a Farseer? Is she a hunter...?

He stopped as he sensed the presence of another, and span at a shadow that shouldn't be there.

"Show yourself, coward!" he shouts, reachingf into his jacket for his machete...

Kuroichi laughed because the Lycan thought he was stealthy. He laughed because the woman was trusting. He laughed because the city would drown in blood.

"I'm afraid you probably don't want her, Werebeast," called the Wampyre. "She's pretty much desicated by now. Not very tasty for a hairy half-breed like you."

The door was almost instantly crushed off its hinges. The hulking lizard-man snarled at Kuroichi.

"So you're a scaly Lycan, eh? That's a bit of a nuance really." Kuroichi absently dried his hands on a soft white towel hanging near the sink. "Most of them are quite furry."

"Shut your mouth, Bloodrag," growled the Lycanthrope. "I want information."

"I don't ******* care, you shape-shifting ****," Kuroichi spat. "Now move so I can leave. I have business to attend to."

"I won't move, because you're going to tell me what I want to know."

"How about you move, I leave, and there's only one corpse in this apartment tonight, eh?" Kuroichi's gray eyes glinted maliciously.

"Afraid I'll kill you, Wampyre?"

"No. I don't want to have to kill a non-human," Kuroichi growled. He sniffed the air. "Though you don't seem to have those restrictions, killing rats to feed."

"How...?"

"I can smell the stench on your breath. Now move."

"No! You talk!" yelled the Lycanthrope.

In an instant, the black blade was at the tip of the Lycan's throat. A drop of water languidly rolled down the finely honed edge and dripped to the ground.

"Listen to me, you stupid ****. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Now move, or I move your ******* body when it can't move itself."

"Try it," hissed the Lycan.

The hulking beast reached up and grabbed the katana, turning it aside. Blood dripped from his hand.

Kuroichi laughed.

"Idiot."

In a swift, fluid motion, the Wampyre drew the dagger the rested behind his back and flung it at the Lycan. The small blade pierced the Dragon's shoulder. It let out a loud roar of pain.

"Now move!"

Kuroichi pulled back his arm, and swung it forward in a powerful punch. The lizard-man was pushed back from the doorway, allowing Kuroichi to leave the bathroom.

"Now give me back my dagger," the Vampire hissed.

The dragon snarled and pulled the blade from his flesh. He hurled the blade at Kuroichi's feet.

"This isn't over."

"I never thought it was. Now, if you don't mind, I have to pay someone a visit."

***

Ten minutes later, Kuroichi had broken into the hunters home and left the message. Written in the Lycan's blood.

The hunter no longer had the young woman with him.

It would make the kill easier.

"I'm watching..." said the hunter. "What does that mean?"

"It means," Kuroichi hissed. "That I'm watching you, hunter."

The hunter whirled towards the sound of the voice. The silver-haired demon slid from the shadows, blade drawn.

"You caught me in a poor position and with reinforcements handy. This time, I'll rip your throat out!"

Alexis saw the man walking away. His collar told her he was a Christian. She turned back to her cousin. ?Its nothing.?

She absently stirred at her coffee as it cooled, then sipped it. The warm liquid rushed down her throat, and she gazed off into space. Sydney was talking about something, though what she couldn?t tell.

?Ali? Yo, Alexis, snap out of it.? She looked up sharply at her cousin, Drake. He and his brother and dad were standing. ?You coming?? Alexis stood, and nodded. ?I?ll be there in a second.?

She went to the public restroom, and stood, watching herself in the mirror. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn?t keep away that hauntingly familiar grace of the lynx with which she was so closely related. ?Why? Mom, I miss you?? She touched her cheek, and snapped out of it.

((OOC: Xion? kickass post. I?m wringing my hands trying to figure out when to get you back?))

The gray-eyed Wampyre had been impudent. The fact that Fas had been injured was only a show of his lack of readiness for the attack? laziness? things the Line had always deplored.

Before considering what had happened, Fas quickly slid out of the apartment and back into the alleyway below. He thought back to what he knew about the Wampyre, and realized that the gray-eyed fellow he had met was no ordinary Bloodrag. That voice? that katana? Fas glanced back down at his hand, the wound still healing itself. ?KUROICHI!? The name came howling out of his head, pulsing through the wounds at his hand and shoulder? almost not letting him forget who had done it. The name disappeared as soon as the wounds had finished healing.

The ancients of the Line had gone on and on about the Wampyre? about their destructive needs, their need to feed, and the ones to be wary of. Kuroichi.
The fact that Kuroichi had been killing defenseless Innocents was nothing new to Fas, but it was utterly strange of Kuroichi to not even try to kill him. It was unlike the Bloodrag to miss out on an opportunity for a fight.

This only added to the riddles of what was going on in Tokyo ? but one thing Fas knew for certain? Kuroichi would pay for his impudence. ?I am no lizard,? he said to himself, ?I am a Dragon.?

Fas shifted back into his smaller, wiry, sightless frame. He proceeded to make his way further into the city, stopping every so often to check on Kuroichi?s path. ?He knows what is going on here, and tonight, after I find out what I need, I will feed my dagger into his heart.?

OOC: Holy cow, wait up for me!

IC:

Dots,
You're late. Pick up.
~Vahnhels

Dropping the note on the empty table, Lian smiled, and went to close the window that was still opened to the cool night air. The curtains brushed her hands, and sent her deep crimson robes fluttering. He was a quick one, that Vahnhels, and she had tried to catch him once or twice too. And Vahnhels, being the fickle bastard he was, had made Lian's pseudonym: Dots.

Daughter of the sun. What a way to remind her of her past. Her freedom. Her captivity. Her fetters.

She had to admit though, he was clever. Probably would be quite an interesting partner, but no, fate had chosen Dimitri Gravier to catch her, instead of this Vahnhels.

"Ah well, can't be helped, and there's no use complaining over it." She picked up her 'Lucky Dragon,' smiling again as she felt its warmth under her hand, like an old friend greeting her. Walking out of the silent, empty room, she didn't bother to lock it behind her. Eventually, she made her way down to the street, leaving the Sakura Falls Apartments as she became surrounded by the bright lights of the city night life.

Even in these streets, sidewalks filled with people both sober and drunk, with vendors and cloying aromas, the air breathed life. Wind reached her, dancing with her robes once more, playing through her hair with outstretched fingers. 'Lucky Dragon' she held close, the warmth familiar.

Lian whispered to the breeze which flowed over her features, "..Find me..a reverend." And the wind...whispered back.

Dimitri, concentrated on the shadows as he was, barely noticed the breeze that played at his ear. But Lala did.

ooc: great posting everyone! I have a good feeling about this rp!

Soft pink petals flowed around Eve as she smelled the air, blood was everywhere as the battle of night creatures and hunters begain. Eve sat up on the bench distrubing the petals around her slinder frame.

"Whats this??? Kuroichi going into another fit of rage," she said gazing at the charry blossoms "He is going to get himself killed, weather he likes it or not death is always close behind," A grin crossed her pale face.

Standing up she serenly walked down the dirt path, a small girl played jump rope. Her golden curles bounced up and down with every hop.

"So innocent, not knowing of the dangers of life........Foolish of her of parents to leave her here by herself, the horriable things that could happen to her.......oh the horrible things," The girl suddenly looked up casting a frightend look toward Eve. The girl began to run away from Eve, leaving the rope behinde.

Eve swiftly dashed after her easily apearing in front of her, the girl let out a shrill of fright and tryed to run the other way. Yet again Eve rushed in front of her. "Why are you so afraid of dying child? You know nothing of this horried world.....why would you want to return here? Why not stay in the clouds of the heavens? Im giving you a blessing girl take it with bliss," Grabing the girl she sprinted toward the biggest charry blossom.. the girl let out a scream but it was muffled by Eves hand. Eve quickly took out four of her stars and pinned the girl to the tree.

The girls eyes glazed over she looked up at eve and gave her a faint smile, "I guess im not afraid of dying after all...." Eves eyes begain to fog as her fangs grew, they glittered in the moonlight. She removed the girls scarf and sunk her sharp fangs into the girls soft neck. Her blood was pure....so pure. Tears flowed down the girls face as her heart beat slowed and finally stopped. Eve let go of the girl and her frail body lay limply on the tree.

"Return to the heavens now........have peace like i will never know," With that Eve turned away and walked out of the park.

"I guess this is the beginning of the end........"

Hiroshi leaned against her door and whimpered under her breath. A single tear dropped down from her cheek and fell to the carpet.
She closed her eyes and leant her head back, taking out her hair and letting it fall about her shoulders.
"Wampyres and Lycanthropes....am I really cut out for this?" she asked herself, although she couldn?t think of an answer.
She had fought fiends and lesser daemons to prepare herself for at least one battle with a Lycanthrope, but now she seriously doubted her skills.
That young man had taken her home because he thought that she needed protecting, now she was beginning to believe it herself.

"Wampyres are dangerous......they show no mercy and are known for their irresistible charm" she sighed, if she was to meet a Wampyr, would she fall victim to it as well?
She shook the thought from her head, "If I die....I die fighting for my people....I'll die fighting a Lycanthrope!"
She turned around and double locked her front door, making sure that no one could get in.
She went into her bedroom and got changed into more casual clothes, but then a thought came to her.
'I'll never know if I don?t try.....' she grabbed her long coat and spiked staff and headed for the door.
Tonight, she would hunt for that Wampyr....not to fight and kill, but for answers.

"Yes, yes, yes, I will bring him to you," she whispered at the breeze, nodding slightly. "Don't bother with it," said said, taking his arm and tugging him away. "Catch her first."
"What? I have to take care of this first." Dimitri gave her an exasperated look.
"Fine," she sighed, "I'll do it. You're just not fast enough when it comes to drawing weapons, Book Man." She closed her eyes, concentrating on the circle of string she was now weaving through her fingers at a blindingly fast rate. Her fingers stopped and her eyes shoot open. "Bind." The string glowed a light green as a similiar light surrounded the shadow. "Well, what are you waiting for? That's the only binding spell I know. And if you don't hurry, it will find a way to break my spell and attempt to slit your throat."

"Oh? Another who knows the tongue of elements... Whom has the good reverend deemed to pick up this time?"

Lian smiled again, hearing the tone the air picked up as the gifts were called upon. "Hmm...so you tell me beautiful, young, and now skilled as well. I can't wait to meet her - she's already cooler than Grimoire."

At the mention of Dimitri, the 'Lucky Dragon' seemed to itch in her hand. She tightened her grip lightly, chiding in manner.

"No no, don't do that. It was entirely my mistake then; I was too careless, and perhaps too eager. Don't put the blame where it doesn't belong," Lian reprimanded gently. But she stood still now, not following the wind's path to Dimitri and the new stranger.

After all, the stranger had told her that Dimitri would be brought to her.

"You...you're that Wampyr....from the alley! You will pay for all you've killed!"

Daki draws his katana, red blade gleaming. "I can see you're also the one known as Kuroichi...you're reign of terror ends now!"

Daki then calls upon the fire element to aid him. The blade of the katana is set a-flame, but Daki isn't finished. He then engulfs himself in the flames. Kuroichi looks on uninterested...then he sees Daki rushing toward him. Kuroichi begins to jump to the left, but Daki sensed it coming. He shoots three fireballs at Kuroichi as a distraction then leaps and attempts to attack with his katana. Kuroichi, the experienced fighter that he is, dives under Daki as he leaps, getting behind him. Daki looks back just in time to see Kuroichi send a punch right towards his face...it hits. Daki is sent flying into the wall. He quickly recovers and shoots another fireball at Kuroichi's chest. The fireball hits its target and send Kuroichi flying backwards onto his back. Daki then runs at Kuroichi, katana ready...Daki means to behead Kuroichi. He intensifies the flame on the blade of the katana and unleashes a Fire Blade Strike attack, aimed at Kuroichi's neck. Kuroichi kicks up right before the attack reaches him.

"Damnit why won't you stay still?!?" Daki yells.

Fas was growing tired of walking. Having covered the world 4 times over, walking was still the most inefficient mode of travel... and yet humans had STILL to evolve beyond it. They had their gas-powered mobile units... their... cars... but what when the resource depletes itself? These pathetic beings will doom themselves to....

KUROICHI.

And another.

Nearby. The sickly sweet, decaying, stench of Kuroichi had led him to a much-less populated part of Tokyo. Fas sensed his way to a nearby forest area and shifted. Fas was growing extremely tired of picking up after himself, the clothes that tore at every shift... but that was the sort of sign the Macabre could pick up on... and the hunt would then be reversed...

FIRE.

The element was being summoned at an incredible rate... a Hunter. This was getting more and more complicated. Why would the Wampyr go out of his way to leave Fas alone, but then only to confront a Hunter?

The moonlight reflected off of Fas' scales, those obsidian plates, as he weaved through the forest back towards the Kuroichi. Luckily this was one battle that would hopefully not draw too much attention... he had followed Kuroichi to an almost deserted community in Tokyo. No... completely deserted.

Fas slowly slid his dagger from the sheath... grasping it by the jade hilt inscribed with one line, "Fas Eversio". Divine Destruction

He slowed his approach as he approached the home where the fight was obviously ensuing. FIRE.

A crimkson streak of fire sliced through the front of the house facing Fas, a large arc of which was headed directly for Fas. He quickly raised his arm and fought the flame with his dagger. The fire closest to Fas whipped around the blade, only to disappear into its silvery blade - but the shock of the absorption pushed Fas back. The Dragon dug his claws into the ground to steel himself against the force. The remainder of the flames continued on to the forest, leaving a path of burnt ashes in its path.

"This Hunter is strong. Kuroichi may have picked the wrong fight." Steeling himself, blade poised to strike, Fas slid into the shadows.

Fas slowly came out of a shadow in the wall - the interior of the house was completely encased in darkness... and silent too. He barely had time to retract his head when a series of daggers sprayed the wall. He reappeared further down. "Blood....?" He examined the dagger, touching it with a claw, to only quickly recognize its material. Kuroichi had obviously been studying hard. These daggers were formed from Kuroichi's own blood. And they were rock-hard.

A form appeared in front of Fas. It was Kuroichi, with his back-turned. "Come on, Hunter. Why not light this house on fire... so I can see you better?" The Wampyr spat out.

"I can see you just fine, Bloodrag." Fas flew straight out of the wall and flashed his dagger against Kuroichi's side, scoring a large tear through his right thigh. The Wampyr screamed. "Kuroichi, I told you this was not over." As the Wampyr fell to examine his nearly dismembered leg, Fas had to again dodge another strike of fire from behind.

"Kuroichi! What else have you brought with you to help? Not feeling confident?" The Hunter called out.

The Wampyr suddenly vanished, and his laugh could be heard from all sides of the hosue. Fas found himself on the floor as a sheet of blood needles came screaming at him, some catching his right side. "Hunter, it seems you're in league with a rat-eater! Well, this will just be more fun for me tonight!"

Fas quickly slid into the ground as a flaming katana struck at his head. It had been a while since Fas was unsure about his next move.

Alexis was home, finaly. It had taken and hour to get back, and now Sandi was making dinner. ?I?m going out for a walk!? She called at the front door. Sandi poked her head out of the kitchen. ?Be back by seven!?

Alexis nodded, and slipped on her shoes. Drew called down the stairs, ?Ali, could you pick up a movie for me and Drake?? Alexis called her assent, and left the house. She tugged the jacket about her form, the wind biting at her.

Why is it so cold? she wondered. It shouldn?t have been. It wasn?t late enough at night. Her boot heels clicked on the pavement.

The lithe, fluid grace that she possessed- only the most skilled eye could notice. The slightly pointed teeth ? well, any human could have those. But her large, round pupils ? when they dialated, they became oval. But no one really noticed, since half the time in bright sunlight she wore sunglasses.

Mum, Da, why did you leave me?

"I'm not a rat-eater!" bellowed the Lycan. "I am Fas Eversio! Die by my strength!"

"I have lived 600 years, Lycan, you shall not stop me now," said Kuroichi.

"But I certainly do not side with the Hunter!"

"And I do not side with any beasts of the night!" roared the Hunter.

Still blazing, the human slashed at Fas. The dragon pulled back, dodging the blade, but the flames scorched his belly. The reptile-man hissed and slashed at the Hunter with his talons.

Meanwhile, Kuroichi watched from the shadows.

I shall strike them down when they are too weak to fight back. Not that I couldn't defeat them even now. There's just no sense in missing an opportunity for an easy kill.

Forming a bloodstone blade in his hand, Kuroichi flicked his wrist and sent the rock-hard blood-dagger at Fas. It dug in, right below the shoulder blade. A second hit the hunter in the arm.

"Fight like a man!" cried the hunter.

"Ah, but I am not a man! I am Kuroichi! The silver-haired demon!"

Gracefully, he descended from his hiding place in a corner of the roof. He drew his katana once more, and formed a spiked bloodstone glove over the other hand.

"You wish for me to fight? I shall not fight...I shall kill!"

The Wampyre lunged forward and struck at the hunter with his katana. The human blocked with his own blade. Kuroichi then swung at Fas's chest with his glove. The spikes jabbed into his flesh. The Lycan let out a cry of pain.

"Die fools!" the Wampyre hissed.

He pulled his glove free of Fas and slammed it into the hunter's face. The spikes didn't connect, but the rock-hard armor did, sending the hunter stumbling back.

"I am finished with you fools," the Vampire said.

A small red orb appeared in his palm. He raised his hand high, and threw it at the ground. The orb exploded into a red mist.

"Taste of the Blood Mist, and die!"

The deadly cloud englufed both Lycan and hunter. They felt their skin begin to shred as tiny cuts formed all over their bodies.

Just then, the sounds of footsteps rang out. A figure rounded the corner. It was a young woman holding a cross-bladed staff.

"Die, Lycan!" she yelled.

The woman lashed out at Fas with her blade. She barely seemed to noticed the cuts forming on her body.

She doesn't attack me? A Wampyre? This could be advantageous... Kuroichi mentally chuckled.

Hiroshi ignored the searing pain all over her body, she noticed small spots of her blood drip onto the pavement but she continued to stab at the Lycan.

"You shall pay for what your kind done to those innocents!" she roared, bringing her cross staff down across the Lycan?s chest. She barely scratched him though all her efforts and she just angered the Lycan ever more.

He rounded on her and snarled causing Horishi to flinch.
"How dare you accuse me of crimes I did not commit, you foolish woman." she swatted Hiroshi away with one of his arms and sent her flying in the direction of the Wampyre.

She landed with a painful thud just in front of him and cried out in pain, her cuts were still bleeding and her arm was bruised.

The Wampyre knelt down and whispered in her ear, "Very admirable, woman, you show guts." he smirked and Hiroshi gasped, turning around to look the man in the face.

He was handsome, she gave him that and he had a voice that could convince any woman. But she stood firm. Rising from her place on the floor, she supported herself with her staff.

"Why are you attacking that hunter?" she asked, though it was obvious that she was in pain.
The Wampyre smirked, "He started it." he said in defence, "Besides, who cares about that...." he looked at Hiroshi making sure that their eyes met. The young woman looked down and blushed ever so slightly,
"My name is Kuroichi, who might you be?" he asked soothingly.
Hiroshi looked up, "My name is Hiroshi Kagami" the silver haired Wampyre nodded and kissed her hand, causing them woman to snatch it away and look at him scornfully.

"Don?t..." she muttered as a warning.
"Don?t what?"
"Damn you....." Hiroshi started to walk off, completely forgetting about the fight.
"Maybe we shall meet again?" the Wampyre called, "I'm sure it will be very.....enjoyable." with that he bowed mockingly and Hiroshi huffed, starting off on a jog back to her apartment.

As the dagger sunk into Daki's arm, he let out a groan of agony, but all the pain left him when he saw Hiroshi turn the corner. "HIROSHI GET OUT OF HERE!!"

As Daki says the warning, an explosion is created and a red mist appears. All of a sudden Daki feels cuts forming all over his body. He cringes, fighting the pain. He is worried, not about his own life, but about the safety of Hiroshi.

"You shall pay for what your kind done to those innocents!"

Hiroshi let out a battle cry and lunged toward the dragon Lycan. He was barely scraped by her attack and hit her away to the side. He sees her fly toward the ground right in front of Kuroichi, sending a cry of pain into the air. "NO! KUROICHI KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF HER!!!" Daki screamed as he ran as fast as he could toward Kuroichi...katana poised for an attack. Kuroichi formed a armored glove and brought out his katana. He swung his katana at Daki, but Daki parried the attack with his own katana. Kuroichi punched Fas in the chest with the glove, impaling(sp?) him with the spikes. The Lycan let out a cry of pain. The next thing Daki knew, he was being punched by the armored glove but, luckily, the blades did not hit. He was sent flying backwards and onto his back.

"I have to protect Hiroshi..."

That was all that was running through Daki's mind.

Kuroichi leaned down and Daki saw him kiss Hiroshi's hand. She snatched it away and warned Kuroichi never to do that again. She then began to jog back to her apartment.

"Kuroichi we're not finished!!" Daki yelled as he flew from the battle. He caught up with Hiroshi and had an extremely worried look on his face. Huffing, he asked "Hiroshi...are you alright?" He knelt down to one knee from pain and exhaustion. The dagger was still lauged in his arm. He used his katana to get back to his feet, but fell right back to his knee.

"I'm fine, but you're not. We need to get you to a doctor or something..." Hirsohi says.

"No time. Kuroichi and the Lycan are either fighting or are looking for us...we need to hide." Daki says. He groans as he tries to get to his feet once more. He begins to fall back to his knee again, but Hiroshi catches him.

Daki looks into her eyes. "You don't have to do this, you know?"

Dimitri lunged at the shadow-creature and pulled it out kicking and screaming. The creature was Wampyr, or so it seemed. It was naked, and covered from head to toe in intricate, swirling tattoos. IT spat and hised at him, a cat trapped in a corner, before Dimitri drew his machete and slammed the hilt across it's jaw. He heard something crack. The creature reared back up and sat, sullen and furious.

"Who are you?"

The creature sat still.

"Who are you?" Dimitri reapeated, tearing into the creature's mind with Command the Mindless. It was primarily used on the shambling corpses commonly known as Zombies, but it was also a useful interrogation tool. Against it's will, a word squeaked out of the Nosferatu's mouth.

"Minion."

"Of who?" Another mental jab. The creature flinched, and Dimitri plunged full on into it's subconcious, pulling a name to it's mouth.

"The Master."

Suddenly, it spasmed and retched fresh blood across the floor of the alleyway. It's back jerked and twitched, and it's mouth stretched into a twisted, wordless, soundless scream. Dimitri heard things crack, things shift. The Bloodrag then simply gave up, seemngly submitting to the greivous torture. The tattoos across it's skin flared up bright, a beacon in the night air. The flesh of the creature putrified, skin split and bones warped. The flesh started to rot, as what happened when all of the Wampyr died, their bodies giving in to the ravages of age, of nature. Dimitri spat it it's corpse and started to walk away, the strange girl in tow.

"A simple spell," Dimitri said, more to himself than anyone else. "Blood Boil. Useful for getting rid of serveants when their tasks are done. At least the foul creature was telling the truth."

The girl stayed silent, her eyes burning with madness.

Dimitri did not ask her nae. f she did not give it to him, it was her own business. She was a fellow Hunter, and deserved what little prvacy that entailed. They followed the twisting labyrithine alleys of Tokyo to the Sakura Falls apartments. It was a simple, humble affair painted brightly to attract the eye, but placed in a location where noone cared for it.

Outside stood a woman who had travelled with Dimitri for a long while.

"Lian." he said, nodding.

"Dimitri." she said. Their relationship had always been curt, as it was more for Dimitri's conveniance than Lian's. It was only the fat tha Dimitri could hand her over to less...benevolant people that kept the thief around.

Out of the doorway a man walked, tall and dignified in a black trenchcat and trousers. His hair was a dakr red, and his face wa deathly white.

Vahnhels

"Good to see you again, Grimoire." he said, smiling slightly.

"And you, Vahnhels. The accomadations are ready, I presume?"

"I aim to please, Grimoire, you know that." Without further ado the two hunters walked into the building, followed by the two girls. As they walked up the stair, Graier and Vahnhels caught up.

"What is the news on Charax."

"Sparse at best. Noone knows what exactly it i, or even if 'it' exists at all."

"You still believe it is a Wampyr, though."

"Of course."

"Then I believe it is one, too."

Dimitri had always respected Vahnhels opinion.

As they reached a room, the hunter opened the door and then stepped in. As the 4 people stood in the room, Vahnhels gave them a brief tour

"It will fit 3 confortably, but I'm afrain that I only expected 2."

"It is fine, friend. I will sleep in one of the chairs."

"Grimoire." Vahnhels said, his voice turning slightly more grave. "I have something that might interest you with me.

Gravier raised one eyebrow, his curiousity piqued.

"I have Jabilong."

Dimitri froze for a seond and then looked sternly at the other hunter. "Where?"

"The room on you right." the graceful hunter said, gesturing.

Dimitr walked into the room and slammed the door behind him.

"What is the Book man looking at?" the strange girl asked.

"That," Vahnhels replied,"is better left for Grimoire to explain to you."

"You idiot! They're getting away!" hissed the Lycan.

"Damn you for messing with me you stupid Lycan!" yelled Kuroichi as he ran through the streets after Daki and Hiroshi.

Kiroichi thought to himself, It's funny how they think they can hide from me!Don't they know I can smell there blood from miles away? What fools!

"That bastard!Does he really think he's going to kill them? Not if I get there first!" murmured Fas to himself, then chased off after the Wampyre.

Daki and Hiroshi ran through the night as fast as they could until they could run no more.Daki fell to his knees holding onto his sword.

"Daki!Are you ok?"

"Y-yes.I'm fine" He tries to stand up, but falls to the ground this time, without getting up.

"DAKI!!!!" screamed Hiroshi.

"Here kiddies!I smell you!" Laughed Kiroichi as he started running toward their scents.

Hiroshi grabbed Daki by the hands and dragged him behind a dumpster.

"Daki? Please wake up! I can not fight this Wampyre on my own!Daki????"
Hiroshi started crying. Not by the fact that she would have to fight, but because of Daki.
Do I have feelings for this man? How?I've only just met him?

All of a sudden Kiroichi threw the dupster down further into the alley.Hiroshi screamed and held on to Daki.

"Please, please wake up Daki!" whispered Hiroshi.

"You fool! He'll die in a little while," smirked Kiroichi, "Oh look! You're all alone! My my, how bad for you!"

Kiroichi picked up Daki and threw him near the dumpster.Daki moaned as he hit the ground.Hiroshi screamed as Hiroichi picked her up by the neck and held her in the air.

"Die human!"bellowed Kiroichi.

Hiroshi struggles then notices Kiroichi's grip has become loose. She crawls out of his reach and watches Kiroichi fall to the ground. He has a knife stuck in the center of his back. A girl behind him takes the glowing blue sword out and slides it into a case on her back.

"Are you ok?" asked the girl in the dark.

"Y-yes," coughed Hiroshi,"What about Daki?"

"He'll be fine.Come, the Wamprye will not be down for long."

Hiroshi jumped up and walked with the girl to Daki. The girl took off her jacket and let her wings unfold.Hiroshi gasps. The girl picks up Daki then turns around.

"Give me your hand."

Hiroshi hesitates.

"Do you want to die???" yells the young winged girl.

"No..."

"Then lets go!"

Hiroshi takes the girls hand and they soar into the air.Hiroshi watches the girl while they are in flight wondering where she came from. They soon land in a forrest where Hiroshi has never been.

"W-where are we?"

"The Forrest of Light" whispers the girl, "Come on, my cave is near by.."

Hiroshi follows the girl into a lighted cave and watches her lay Daki down on a soft pallet of what looks like feathers.

"Stay here, and I will go get some herbs for your friend. DO NOT LEAVE!" says the girl as she slides her jacket on covering her wings."O.K.?"

"O.K." whispers Hiroshi,"...wait! What's your name?"

The girl staes at Hiroshi and suddenly her face brightens.
"My name is Kiyo...Kiyo Aiame."
Kiyo smiles and walks out of the cave and dissapears from site.

"Hiroshi?" Daki manages to whisper.

Kiroshi runs to Daki's side and starts crying.

"Daki! I'm so glad you're ok!!!!"

Daki raises his hand and touches Hiroshi's face.
"Where are we?"

"I'm not sure, the only thing I know is a girl name Kiyo Aiame...and she had wings!!!"

"Kiyo???It can't be....."whispers Daki.
