I'm not quite sure how to handle this topic. ^_^;; Considering that our general discussion forum has always been open to intelligent conversations about sex, I don't know whether the mature nature of hentai is reason enough to close your thread. It'd be nice if I could simply tell you to keep it as clean as humanly possible--however, plenty of young teenagers frequent OtakuBoards, and somehow I can't help feeling that it's hard to talk about hentai without revealing the inappropriate details found in various titles. Simply giving the topic an age rating won't be enough to discourage certain people from perusing it.

I guess I'll leave things alone for the time being. However, I'll take any reply which doesn't conform to basic standards of decency as a sufficient justification for locking this thread. Hentai is anime, and should just be discussed in the same manner as any other anime IMO. Plenty of broadcast anime features nudity and suggestive situations, but viewers seem to be able to focus on the characters and story (at least in their forum postings)...

I thought La Blue Girl was amusing because it parodied magical girl anime. F3 is fairly funny and presents a rather wide variety of situations in a short series. Sakura Diaries is hentai depending on the version - it's a decent romance, but a stronger ending would have been nice. It helps that the characters in these series are likable to some extent - I expect that of any anime though.

I guess that does it for me. I don't have much interest in hentai anime because the production is often slipshod. Some shows are way too grim and/or don't do anything with the characters beyond erm, the sort of thing that makes them adult video...

Saying that a hamster is involved in many of these situations is liable to give people the wrong idea ^_^;;;;;;

BTW, downloading hentai shouldn't be ruled out for those interested because a lot of series are being fansubbed lately.

Well of course we wont rule out downloading, yet still I meant where to find them off the internet, and in reality. Stores and the such.

But back to the topic, are you more into realistic based hentai (such as teachers pet), or the tenticle (such as La Blue Girl)

Whats your opinions on hentai artists and their works relating to business.

"Hentai" is sort of a mistranslation or mislabelling. Not to take anyone to task... "Hentai" is used up nowadays anyway, and it reminds me that a lot of people think (or used to) that "all Japanese anime=porn."

The easiest way to find licensed stuff is go straight to amazon. Of course, without some names of series there's no use going to amazon. Video rental outlets might still have tapes; I used to rent stuff. Buying stuff sight unseen is risky due to the poor quality of a lot of it.

I think the monster or "tentacle" series tend to feature the sort of grimness I can do without - characters who are just screaming or zombified victims, nonconsensual situations etc. In La Blue Girl a lot of the monster situations constitute "battles" so that show is a bit different.

I never saw Teacher's Pet but that doesn't matter as far as this discussion is concerned. I would rather watch a comedy or romance, with consensual situations.That leaves out most of the monster stuff, as I said.

I think ero-games are marginally more fun than ero-anime; they focus more on a story and the characters have to relate to each other. I can remember more about the ero-games I have played than the ero-anime I have watched.

As far as the business aspect, it bugs me that CG artists get ripped off by idiots via offshore (from the Japanese perspective) websites - licensed animation gets done up the same way. And due to censoring laws the Japanese ero-artists are missing out on some money-making opportunities such as direct sales from Japan.

But overall I think that there is not much of a market outside of Japan for "anime-type" erotica in any medium - the Japanese don't have access to uncensored live erotic content, but the countries where they might sell their work do. And that's what most people prefer, the live stuff... even in Japan.

I honestly can't imagine why the guy decided to make all the villains be some freaky looking guys and what not. And what was up with that weird looking guy who kept looking at girl's panties?

My husband's mentioned a few hentai anime he's seen (because we know how much guys seem to like any type of porn hard or soft) He mentioned this game anime called True Lovewhich is some thing about this guy trying to get sex from different women, and a series called Bible Black. I have no idea what that's about.

I saw Sakura Diaries, I kind of thought that was almost like soft porn in a way, but that was just my opinion.

I haven't really watched too many of them, but I've heard of a few. Ogenki Clinic anyone? I'm also wondering about Onegai Teacher. But since I haven't seen I won't say.

I doubt most hentai is actually meant to have an actual story line, in some ways I think it's like regular live people stuff.[/color]

Interesting enough ero-games have a tendency to translate to non-eros anime, take Pia Carrot for example, or a more successful show such as Kanon (yes there is a adult version of the kanon game availible for PC, or at least that is what I am led to believe) which was an anime that I enjoyed thoroughly. Most of the time, this type of show tends to boring as heck when turned into animation, but as Kanon prove, there are exception to the rule.

One of the funniest show I've seen for ero-anime was called sex demon queen (or something similiar to that title) which had so much silly non-consequential humour in it to make me fall to the floor laughing. I don't particularly like shows like La Blue Girl because i neither find them funny or containing a plot (thus eradicating the two cases where I make exception to these type of show)

I suppose Sakura Diary is in this category (maybe) I like that show alot actually, it was funny and had a plot I could tolerate, the echi feels almost like an after thought...

Personally I don't see what's wrong with it, or the concern about the age limits. It's not real, it's not even real people. So no one is humiliated and because it is obviously anime everyone knows it's not real and therefore not possible.

Tentacles make me laugh that's for sure. I usually go to the online comics. They tend to have some sort of storyline, even if its focus is rampant sex.

1) As mentioned, no pornographic images are to be posted here. Anyone who attempts this will be permanently banned immediately.

2) Nobody is to provide links in this thread to download Hentai. The first point about that is simply that we want to offer [i]some [/i]protection to children; nobody should be able to access adult material through any of our sites. And secondly, if you're downloading it without paying for it, you are [b]stealing[/b]. I cannot underline this point enough. I know that people "download anime episodes", but if I see [i]anyone [/i]making any attempt to link to such material on here, they will be banned without question. We want to support artists rather than steal from them -- and in a broader sense, illegal downloading is by definition unacceptable here.

3) I don't mind if you guys discuss Hentai, but please be aware that you're on a site that does have some restrictions in terms of language use and so on. Despite the nature of the discussion, I don't think it will be necessary to actually post anything explicit on here, whether we're talking about images [i]or [/i]descriptions. Let's keep it as clean as possible, given the subject matter (and so far, most of you seem to be doing the right thing, which is fine).

I just want to make those points in the strongest possible terms. If everyone follows these guidelines, I don't mind allowing the discussion to go ahead.[/color]

Ogenki Clinic is a lame and cheesy comedy.

Onegai Teacher is not ero-anime, neither is Onegai Twins.

Ero-anime is definitely meant to have a story. Mangaka like U-Jin and Go Nagai definitely know how to tell a story. Some stories simply get the characters into "situations," but how is that kind of story much different from stories for shows like Sailor Moon, with its weekly battle scene?

It's easy to take out the adult situations and still present a romance. The shows adapted from the games are not harem-type "comedies" like Love Hina, so some people might have a hard time getting their minds around them. But Kanon is not the only decent, or good, or very good game-based series by any means.

Okay, I read some manga's, (Love Hina, Mahoromatic, and Gravitation) and I liked them. But I'm not really calling Love Hina a hentai, but it's got naked girls in it. An' they also called hentai ecchi (I think it's spelled that way.) in Mahoromatic. Now that was a good manga. It has a great plot, great characters, it's funny, and ronchy. Now Gravitation, I wanna buy the whole series! It's really cool. I like the fact that it's about a gay singer and writer that like each other.

Now, a mod. can delete my post for all I care, but I'm 14 and I read hentai/ecchi. I don't tell or show my parents, but I don't read/watch it because I'm some horny sex-crzed little girl. I read/watch it for a few reasons, I want it to have a good story, characters, and I want it to make sense. Besides, any manga/anime under 13 sort of, well, sucks. Well there you have it.

The manga you are referring to are targeted at Japanese between the ages of roughly 14-18, but they are not adults-only material, which is the only material being discussed.

In short, your post doesn't speak to the topic. The thread is marked "18 & up plz" for a reason...
