Venom is interesting not only because he looks cool, but also because he is stronger than Spidey and can offer a very good fight. Same goes for Carnage. Also they're not boring crooks like all of Spiderman's other villains. Honestly, Spidey has got to have one of the lamest rogues galleries out there. Well over half the villains were created through an "experiment gone wrong," the vast majority of them are nothing but bank robbers, and a good portion are ripoffs of [i]each other[/i]! Kingpin is a Luthor wannabe. The goblins are pathetic. Scorpion is Doc Oc divided by 4. Electro/Shocker? Don't get me started. The Lizard is so unoriginal it hurts. Eh, the whole Insidious Six were lame. I can go on and on. I hate Spiderman's villains. I wish they had some actual depth to them. I know they're gonna do more goblin crap in the next Spiderman, because they just [i]have[/i] to follow [i]that[/i] portion of the Green Goblin story arc, forget the only actual thing the Green Goblin is useful for in all of Spiderman's continuity (Gwen Stacy's death), but dammit it'd be nice if they threw in Venom (w/o the friggin Secret Wars, of course). Well they have cool names, but also they can morph their bodies to all sorts of things...I think it would be cool to be able to morph your arm into a sword or whip. The Bellboy Posted July 10, 2004 Share Posted July 10, 2004 Norman Osborn, no contest. I mean, come on... He's the only villain that TRULY gets underneath Spidey's skin...or lycra. He's been responsible for the deaths of Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn (though indirectly,) and Ben Reilly, the closest thing Peter had to a brother. He's the equivelant of Batman's Joker. Everything that Peter stands for, Norman stands against. Justice=Chaos Life=Death Responsibility=Insanity. And etc, etc. I think that if there were ever a time when the Powers-that-Be at All Mighty Marvel decide it's time for Spider-Man to bite the dust, The Green Goblin will be the bullet.
