Harry
Yes, but you also shouldn't try to hold a styrofoam cup of hot coffee in your lap. Part of that was due to the woman's stupidity. The cups do say 'Caution, contents are hot' for a reason. Besides, some people will complain if they don't think the coffee is hot enough there's just no pleasing anyone, so go make your own coffee! :flaming:
True it was rather stupid, but when you see a hot label on a coffee cup you think "Hey it will burn me" instead of "hey it will melt off the skin that's there." TheShinje
One picture, see the big picture here? It's hardly going to blow up into Animegate or something. Edit: Chibi, the Coffe cup label, "Caution: Contents Hot" was, i believe, put on the cup as a direct response to this womans lawsuit. ChibiHorsewoman
Edit: Chibi, the Coffe cup label, "Caution: Contents Hot" was, i believe, put on the cup as a direct response to this womans lawsuit. [/size']
The cups have always said : Caution, contents extremely hot! Handle with care. Sometimes in both english and spanish. Even if they didn't it's a matter of common sense that you don't put a hot cup of coffee in your lap. I mean, there's steam coming from the cup, and you know you got coffee. So why the heck would you put the cup in your lap?
DeathBug
It might just be me, but it seems we're working under the assumption that the image is unauthorized. Does anyone actually have confirmation that it isn't? I ask because it would be incredibly stupid for any PR firm to blatantly break copyright law, and I really don't see a firm working for any president or presidential candidate making such a mistake. I should also point out that President Bush didn't make the ad; his PR firm did. Yes, he approved it, but come on; do you really think he, or John Kerry, or anyone working in Washington would know where the image came from? And if they actually do have enough time to watch anime, then they're not working hard enough.
It becomes a big deal to anime fans when they see a well known character being butchered and used in a campaign for someone who most of us don't like anyway, sorry Bush fans, no offence.
Please don't ascribe your opinions to the group at large.
Stacy_Tramer
And just watch me be the one with the least serious comment: OMG. The eyes! The eyes!! *erupts in a fit of giggles* On that note... I don't know why they thought using that picture would help the campaign in anyway. It does pursuade me to want Bush for president. o.O Actually, it just makes me think they don't have enough money for better ads. Hehe. Hehehe. The colors. The EYES!! *explodes*
