Gokou Alpha
July 3rd, 2004 will be the third annual Free Comic Book Day, a single day when participating comic book stores give out a selection of sample comics for free. The event is organized by Diamond Comic Distributors and involves the participation of major and minor comic book publishers alike. Among the free samples being given out this year there will be manga from Del Rey and Tokyopop. Del Rey will be giving out a 32 page sampler that includes previews of xxxHOLiC Volume 2 and Negima Volume 2. Tokyopop will be giving out their Q2 "Sneaks" a graphic novel sized preview of numerous Tokyopop titles. Tokyopop's Kristien Brada-Thompson informed us that they had provided Diamond with 50,000 copies of "Sneaks" for Free Comic Book Day. Not every manga publisher will be participating though, Viz's PR Agent, Erik Janson, informed us that Viz would not be participating in Free Comics Book Day, while Dark Horse has confirmed that, although they are providing non-manga samples, they won't be making any free manga available. So don't miss out..... :wigout:
Alexeil
Thanks for the reminder! I've been meaning to take advantage of free comic book day for the past several years and always managed to forget and miss it.

Solo Tremaine
Solo, this thread's almost a year old now. I don't think the Free Comic Book Day information here is accurate any more. Please try not to bring back incredibly old threads if they aren't relevant any more, unless there's something new that can be discussed. Thread closed.
