Happy 4th of July everyone!

This thread is here to celebrate and discuss our nations holiday. This holiday is called "independence day". It is when we gain our independence from Great Britian and became a nation.

My parents are planning on celebrating this holiday like any other family. We are going to grill outside. We are going to grill Hot Dogs, homemade hamburgers, and chicken. They all will be grilled with my special BBQ sauce that i made myself.^_^ My mom is also planning to make potato salad, coleslaw, and my favorite, pasta salad. On every 4th of july, we have a tradition of roasting mushmellows after all the grilling is done. Oh, and we will be freezing the grilled stuff that we don't eat. Lets just say that my family won't be going hungry for a while, lol.

Then we plan on watching the fireworks on TV. It is going to be great.

So, what do you plan to do to celebrate the 4th of July? Post your plans and everything else here!!

Talk to ya later.

Pssht...they don't call us Great Britiain for nothing you know. *chuckles* Oh well, enjoy your independence day, I guess its a good excuse to do nothing and make big flashy lights with rockets.

*grumbles* what a waste of all that tea too...

I'll be mowing the lawn along with Baron Samedi and then on Monday I'll talk to people who went and saw the fireworks so they can tell me how wonderful and excited it was. (Do you not sense the sarcasim here?)

Yay for independence!

Happy Fourth of July from me to everyone who reads this post. : )

My plans for today include:
1. Getting to sleep soon. (as it's 2:23AM right now)
2. Getting up for 8:30 Mass. (maybe get up earlier to take a shower)
3. Mowing my godfather's lawn.
4. Mowing my own lawn.
5. Getting a screen for my window.
6. Spending numerous hours at my grandparents' house for their party.
7. Watching fireworks shot off by many people in CT, because they can now legally do so.

Yeah. Have a great Independence Day, all you Americans.

And beware the many-tentacled psychic aliens who would seek to destroy you. o.o;;

Contrary to my own expectations, I am fitting right in. Everyone else is mowing their lawn too! I guess that Independence Day is a bigger deal for you guys though... not only was your country founded, but the end of a nasty war, and personal... fulfillment acquired.

I mowed my lawn two days ago, so I don't need to mow it today.

Today, I am going to have my birthday dinner with my family with lots of pepsi. (Nobody was actually home yesterday to be able to cook a big meal)

I am going to enjoy my MegaTokyo Vol. 2 book, and my anatomy drawing book today, and watch the movie, Once Upon A Time In China II.

Finally, at 8 PM tonight, I am going over to one of my airmen friend's dorm to party.
We're going to go and make pop corn there and collect the many sodas, and then we're going off base to shoot off fire works and play with sparklers.

Good thing I don't have a lawn to mow :p

Independence day... I seriously know nothing about it, 'cause I live in good ol' England (now if you said that to me it's likely I'd go mad at you, but it's perfectly fine when I say it, hehe). If it's a day off, then that means I have my own independence day, it's on almost every monday, and it involves bed (I hate Monday mornings... so I guess that's my once-a-week independence day).

I'm at work right now, and I'll be going home at the end of the day, eating dinner, and sleeping. Basically, it's an average day for me. It's also my grandfather's birthday, if that counts for anything. I'm from the US and all, but I-Day lost all of its flare with me after my family stopped coming by and I got tired of lighting fireworks by myself.

Pretty much we are just going to eat and chill. My dad grilled outside today, hotdogs, ribs, and all that good stuff. For the rest of the day we'll just chill, mainly because it looks like its going to storm outside, usually we would go swimming or go out and see some fireworks. But sometimes as i bite into my juicy hotdog and guzzle down some cold soda i think about the less fortunate......all those poor kids starving:( then i take another bite and forget all about it. Isn't America great!

I got back from vacay, and I'm going to go with other people to this weird party for the fireworks. I hear they're going to try something very dangerous, so I'm always up for that. Not to mention that there'll be brownies galore. I mean, I know I can't resist a table full of brownies. :D Other than anything else, I think I'll see my buddies there and crap like that. And go swimmin'. *Shrugs*

I didn't do much for the fourth.

Both my NEw York friends were out doing other things and my other friends live out of state so there went the first plan.

I went to go see White Chicks with my aunt. That was a funny movie.

Then of course it rained and there was a thunderstorm, so the fireworks display was canceled.

I just hope I can talk to my husband on line or this whole stupid day will be a bomb.

But yeah, happy Independance day. Did you know that in 1852 Frederick Douglas was asked by the Rochester Woman's Abolitionist group to make a speech on the 4th of July? He refused and then on the 5th Douglass made one of his most famous speeches where he mentioned how the American celebration of Independence was a sham to the American slaves. Yeah, we started fighting for freedom in 1776, but when did everyone get their inallienable rights?

Well I didn't do too much for the 4th of July, I didn't get drunk :( , I didn't go see the fireworks display :( . Pretty much all I did was hang around chinatown for the major portion of the day and hung out with some friends playing card games. Btw, Happy Belated 4th of July to everyone at OB. :D

I went the the movies with my friends and saw Spiderman 2. Yes, that is what I did for the 4th of July. For some reason my family decided to absolutely do nothing this year for the holiday. Oh well.
