Some people call these a cowardly way to escape or hide from the problems of this world. A torture to the person addicted to them and to others around them. And they have come up with many names for these people as well: Stoners, Pill Poppers, Crack Heads, and more. But there are others that call them a blessing. Caresse is one of these others. She and several other students that live in the city aptly nicknamed, "[b]Artificial Heaven[/b]" were each offered the chance of a lifetime. [b]Paid drug testing.[/b] It was offered to them by an unknown person from an unknown company, but they didn't care. How many times in your life do you get paid to do what you love? Although their friends and family are upset at their choice, Caresse and the others seem determmined in what they are doing. But will they continue to walk down the Devil's Path, or will they leave it behind and return to who they used to be?[/i][/color][/size][/font][/center]

Across the old man, a man in his twenties with jet black hair was leaning forward in his chair. He seemed a bit agitated that the older man wasn't giving him his full attention.[/i][/color][/size][/font][/left]
[left][font=Courier New][size=2][color=#4169e1]"Are you sure that would be wise, Mr. Griffin? What if they find out what they're trying to do or sell it to someone else?"[/color][/size][/font][/left]

[left][font=Courier New][size=2][color=#4169e1]"I don't question orders, Tom, and neither should you. If they want to take that risk, let them take it. And if it does backfire in their faces like you think it will, then they no how to take care of it. You and I both know that."[/color][/size][/font][/left]
[left][i][font=Courier New][size=2][color=#4169e1]Tom shivered and nodded his head. He had seen what they were capable of doing. Mr. Griffin took another puff on his cigar.[/color][/size][/font][/i][/left]
[left][font=Courier New][size=2][color=#4169e1]"Send out our agents immediately, Tom. Have them search for exactly the right people to give this to. There can be no mistakes, not this time."[/color][/size][/font][/left]

She headed upstairs to her room to change into the outfit she normally wore to the Gateway club. After she finished dressing, she went downstairs to the kitchen. There was a note on the fridge. Caresse took it off and read it.[/i][/color][/size][/font][/left]

She pocketed the money on the counter. She knew better things she could use it for instead of "pizza". She then ran back up to her room and grabbed a joint she had pre-made. She grabbed her mobile phone and went to smoke it while she waited for her girlfriend, Courtney, to call.[/color][/size][/font][/i] [/left]

Steven was wrapping up a gig at the Gateway, the last song coming up. No one knew it in his family, but he had started taking drugs. It happened about last week, his first joint. He got hooked. It was in between the songs, so Steven said he was going to get a drink. As he headed for his gig bag, he pulled a MJ out of his pocket, and grabbed his lighter. Lighting it, he just stood by the gig bag, for about 5 minutes until the joint was gone. [I] Damn, the high don't last long. Oh well. I might get some better $*** next time[/I] And he headed for the stage. Grabbing the mike, he went over the lyrics in his head. He started,

As the crowd cheered, he went back and stuffed his things into the gig bag, the rest of the band following. They had earned a rather big amount, each got 200$, except Steven, who took 250. They all split up, and Steven went to go get some 'coke' and a pizza.[/COLOR][/SIZE]

[color=orange][size=2][font=times new roman]Friday afternoon: not too much different than any other day, considering she always skipped last period. There was nothing her parents could do about it, and they were way to busy to try.

She came back from the park, where she had been all afternoon, and when she got to the house, the garage was empty. [I]Mum and Dad have gone out, again.[/I] Her older brothers were, of course, at the skate park, but they always were.

Courtney grabbed a pack of cigarettes, and changed into her ?outfit?. She was a total tease, but that was okay. She grabbed her Nokia from the kitchen table, and left the house.

Courtney went to the Gateway Club before calling her bud. She hummed along with Stephen as he sang, and winked at him as he and his band left the stage.

Speed dialing Caresse, Courtney lit one of the cigarettes as she walked.

?[I]Hey, Courtney.[/I]? Came Caresses voice.

[COLOR=DeepSkyBlue]Kizmet was cleaning out glasses as she bobbed her head to the final cords of Steven's song. She thought he was a great singer and loved his music, such a pity that he was leaving so soon.
As he walked out of the club she waved goodbye to him and he nodded back, giving her a thumbs up. The bar tender always gave him free drinks after a show, but this time, they were probably going to do drugs.

Kizmet sighed and put the final glass away, DJ Fixx would be arriving soon with her girlfriend to start off her show. The blue haired girl smiled, she always enjoyed Fixx's company and had smoked with her a couple of times before. Courtney was lovely too, and the couple were obviously very much in love.
Kizmet smiled at the thought, "Perhaps, one day..."

She heard a soft laugh behind her and turned to see that it was Razor, he was a good friend of hers and known well at the club for his....night time antics.
"So, Wiz? Been daydreaming about 'the one' again?" the tall red head smirked and leant against the bar, serving a drink to an already intoxicated 20-something year old.

Kizmet sighed, "Razor....I'm always thinking about that, besides, I thought you were with Damien tonight?" she smiled devilishly and her friend smirked,
"Nah, I think I wore him out last night, there would be no point on picking him up."
"Peh, you would say that though." Kizmet flicked her long blue hair and grabbed her jacket,
"I'm going for a smoke, wanna come?"
Razor shook his head, "I'll catch up with you later, go on, I'll stand in for you while you're gone."
Kizmet nodded, "One last thing!"
"Yeah, Wiz?"
"If Fixx comes in, tell her where I am....."
Razor nodded in reply and Kizmet walked outside, pulling out a joint as she went.[/COLOR]

She was about to opened it, but decided to look for some of her friends. She spotted the bar and decided to talk Kizmet. When Caresse got there, however, she wasn't there. Her friend, Razor, was watching the bar.[/i] [i]She waved to him and walked up to the counter.[/i][/color][/size][/font]

The crowd of girls still crowding around Steven. [I]He's not bloody god[/I] still thinking to himself. [I]Ah well, as soon as one of the promo guys come here, i'm off[/I].

The crowd started shuffling off as Steven walked away, Shaun left his equipment and went up to the bar for a drink. His head still boiling from the gig, he saw many "fans" going back over to Steven. [I]Could they not just leave him alone, for fuck sake[/I]

[I]I don't have anything against him, but it goes way to far[/I]

"Yo" shouted Steven, seeing Shaun sittin alone, "Come over here"

Shaun replied "You come over here ya lazy so and so" (i would swear but well i've alreay so i leave it)

"Ah Meh" and Steven walked over with his lady friends in close proximaty, Shaun asked "Got any more gigs planned then, seeing as i never find out until the night before, heh"

"Not my fault, i thought i'd told you"

"Yeh well don't matter now duz it"

"Well yeah we've got a Gig here in a week, same time, this week, ok ?"

"Ah no problem, but seriously, we need a bigger place and we've been together for more than 2 years ?, well we need a signing !"

Gail jumped out of bed and walked into the bathroom.Wire was takeing a shower."Hmm hey babe you going to the club with me tonight?" she peeked in at her love."Ya dont you have a gig there to night/" she said "Ya its going to be great our first real gig im soo pumped up but......ya know what would make me even more pumped up?"she smiled and jumped in the shower with Wire.

Gail grabed a towl and wraped it around her."No not for you." she grabed Wire towl and hit her with it.They laughed and got dressed. Gail put on her outfit as Wire walked into the liveingroom."So do you wont anything befro we leave?"she asked."Besides you..."she smiled."How about a few pills." Wire tossed her a red pill case filled with speed.Gail opend the bottle and downed about 5 of them."What some?"gail asked."Always."she smiled.They both smiled at each other.Grabing her cell they both mad there way to Gail motercyle.They jumped on an sped off to the club.

Parking in a spot they both got off."Wheres your bass?" Wire asked. "Oh i think Gene has it with her." Walking in they both went to the bar."Ill be right back in need to go take a piss."Wire said."Hey bartender can i have two MGDs."she waved at Razor and he passed her two beers."Thanks." takeing a swig Gail looked out at the crowd.Things began to swirl and change colors.She laughed as her trip began.Wire came up behind her laughing too she kissed her on the neck."Beer she asked."with a smile."sure."she said and laughed.They both sat and drank while a band played in the background.

Caresse returned the thumbs up and started one of the more popular beats that she played at Gateway. She watched as Courtney waited for her part to come up.[/color][/size][/font][/i]

Shaun was now backstage listening to Courtney singing down the mike "She's got a great voice" he said to himself. His marshall all packed up and loaded into his Dad's Van, and he just had to pack up his Les Paul and he's be off.

A guy in a big coat came around from the cloak "Hey kid", she said "You wanna get messed up"

"No not really"

"Well your gettin paid for it"

"OK, what do i have to do"

The odd man handed Shaun the envelope and walked away back around the curtain, Shaun shoved the envelope into his back pocket and walked back off the stage to sit with Steven and Co. (lol)

[color=orange][size=2][font=times new roman]Courtney grinned, and she and Caresse went into a couple more songs. They changed the beat constantly, to keep the audience on their toes.

Wrapping it up, Courtney sang the final cords to ?Dirrty?, and flipped her skirt as she walked off stage grinning. She removed the mike, and she and Caresse made it back to where Stephen and his gang were sitting.

Shaun grinned at Courtney, who sat down next to him. Caresse sat next to her, and the two hugged. ?Well, that gave my vocal cords a run for their money,? she said, talking about Dirrty. Caresse laughed. ?In ten minutes your up again.? She said.

Courtney laughed, and playfully punched her girlfriends shoulder. ?Hey, who wants to go for dinner later? I?m paying.? Shaun grinned. ?You can count me in.? Caresse seconded Shauns opinion. A couple of the other guys agreed, and Kizmet, who was with them for another break, also jumped in.

?Well, BRB.? Courtney disappeared, and made her way to the restrooms. She came out, and a guy stuck out his hand. In it was an envelope. ?You wanna get screwed up?? Courtney laughed. ?More than I already am? Give me a break.? The guy smirked. ?Your getting paid.? That caught her attention. ?Sure. No problem.? He gave her the envelope, then disappeared.

Courtney went back to Shaun, Stephen, and Caresse, and slipped the envelope in her pocket.[/color][/font][/size]

So finnaly he decided to get up and went up to the dancefloor with Courtney where they started dancing

Aida walked into the culb. A quick glance around and she saw all the regulars there. She took out a packet of Pez and ate a piece of the candy. She walks around and looks at the people. All she does is shake her had. Two men were making out in a corner sharing a joint. She made her way to the bar and took a seat. Placing another piece of Pez in her mouth. She listen to all the buzz in the club. She got her information her about drug parties and best places to buy drugs.

Adia had made it her one mission in life to get people clean of drugs. "Can I have a a defac-tea please." The bar tender raised an eyebrow of suprised at her. She noticed a weird man in a green suit was wandering around. She sipped her tea and studied him. [I]He gives me the creeps.[/I] She tapped her foot to the music and popped another Pez in her mouth.

[COLOR=DeepSkyBlue]Wiz finished her smoke and threw the stub to the floor, stamping on it with a black boot.
She could feel the beat of the music from inside the club, and the laughter of happy, most probably high, people having fun.

She sighed, she was tired and had a headache, the last thing she wanted now was to go back inside and make it worse. Razor owed her some favours anyway so she decided to leave.

As Wiz got the car park where her Kawasaki Ninja was left in it?s own reserved spot, a man walked over to her.
His collar was pulled up and he was wearing a hat, Wiz looked at him and giggled, still on a high from her smoke.
The man pulled out an envelope and handed it to her without saying any thing.
She looked at it and blinked, then the man spoke,

"This is a good opportunity for someone like you...."
Wiz blinked again and the man continued,
"It's testing for a new drug, you're going to get paid so I'd seriously consider it."
Wiz nodded slowly, trying to understand what she had been offered.
As the man turned to walk away he looked over his shoulder once more, "Read it and contact us with your decision, ASAP"

Wiz sighed and shoved the envelope into her pocket, she walked to her bike and shoved the helmet over her long blue hair, kicked over the engine and sped off through the back streets to get back to her apartment.[/COLOR]

Anamaria rolled out of bed and yawned, feeling completely and utterly hung over. [i]I should really lay off the vodka before work...[/i]
"Hey, Nani, wanna go to Gateway?" She turned and peered blearily at this strange kid at her bedroom door.
"Who the hell are you?" she yawned rubbing her eyes.
"Your cousin," he shook his head and walked in, picking up clothes for her to wear. "Your parents are off on a business trip again. Can you believe they still don't know?"
"Yes. Wanna do me a favor?" She plopped down into a nearby chair and yawned.
"No, never again," he smiled and laid her clothes next to her. "I'm sure you'll find someone willing at work. Now go take a shower or you'll be late."
"Can't I just get fired and do the pimp thing?"
He shrugged. "Aren't you the one who said this job paid well?"
"Point taken." She shuffled into the bathroom.

As Nani walked to the club, she was stopped by a smiling man in a green suit. She glared and tried to pass him, but he blocked her everytime.
"Look, I only pimp 'em, I'm not one of 'em. If you wait a few hours, I might be able to get you someone real nice."
He gave her a quick once-over and nodded. "This is a perfect opprotunity for you. We're doing some drug testing in the area. Just give me a call." He slipped an enveloppe into her hand and walked away. She watched him go, then continued on her way. She was late enough as it was.

The music slowly slowed to a halt with Courtney slowing to a halt aswell

"Em so do you kinda.......erm wanna erm....... like maybe go........somewhere.........maybe later......... tonight" Stuttered Shain

Courtney replied, not realizing he was trying to ask her out "Oh yeah i fogot we're all going out later, remember, earlier we talked about it"

And with that she walked off to sit beside Caresse and Steven

Steven said under his breath "Never got the hint then"

Aida sat at the bar and sipped her tea. Every now and than popping a Pez in her mouth. Watching the younger children as they got high and drunk. She looker on with disgust.

"Hey want to get really messed up."

Aida gasped and almost dropped her tea. She looked next to her and seen the man iin the green suit. "No, i don't do themanymore."

"Come on, it free and you get paid for it."

[I]This guy is up to no good. I gotta figure out what he is up to.[/I] Outloud she told them man, "Well I'll think about it."

"Just send this in if your interested." With that the man walked off. Aida stared at the envolope.
