miss april
Okey, I would like to know how many anime series and movies were played in every country. So I remember that I like the Hunter X Hunter OAV but I couldn't finish the OAV becoz of the network... So what was yours?! :D
ChibiHorsewoman
For some reason the SailorMoonS movie always sticks in my head along with parts of the SailorMoonSs movie. I think it may be the quote by SailorNEptune from the 3rd movie though for reasoning why such a bad movie sticks with me. Because Neptune makes a comment about how there are some things that only adults can enjoy.. Of course, SailorMoonS is a stand out because the movie was also covered in the eleventh issue of the SailorMoon manga. Meaning that Naoko wrote it herself. It's just such a cute romantic movie at the end. It has one of my favorite anime songs in it too: Moon Light Destiney. Then of course there's the Ranma 1/2 movie (I can't remember the name) where Akane is kidnapped and they have to go after her. But I think the best part of that movie is the opening where Happosai grabs a bra from someone's clotheline and goes: 'A brassier A brassier!' I also like how when Mr. Saotome is a panda he keeps holding up signs like 'It's national be kind to animals week. You'll have to excuse me a bit on the Ranma1/2 movie, I haven't seen it in a while. I also liked Spirited Away, It was the last movie I watched with Lincoln before I went back to NY and he went to Iraq. The father in the movie reminded me of my dad. Especialy the line where he says: Don't worry, I have four wheel drive! I should probably go watch it again to give a better opinion. Well, there you have it a brief veiw of three or four of my favorite anime movies.
Dragon Warrior
Princess Mononoke, hands down. Though I've seen very few anime films, this is by far a masterpiece. The art, the story, the whole thing is amazing. The creatures are amazing and the world feels real enough to play in :D To say for my least fave that I've seen... Akira. I did not like it. Freakin' messed up, that's what that is. A real tatty-too movie, aye.
Sailor Ganymede
I haven't seen much anime movies YET, unless you count the Digimon movie and the first 3 Pokemon movies. I saw Spirited Away (Sen to Chihiro), and it was cool. Weird, but cool. so out of all the these, my fav so far is the Digimon movie. (I am so childish, huh? ^^v)
PiroMunkie
The only anime movie I have ever really sat down and watched is Spirited Away. I know I have seen Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust as well, but I was not paying to much attention to it. From what I saw of both, however, I enjoyed Spirited Away more. I liked the simple fact that it was different from just another story about vampires -- not to sell Bloodlust short or anything, for it was pretty good from what I saw. The various kinds of creatures made, the movements, plot, story development ... I found all to be very unique, in a way I am not used to seeing.
Okita
Suprisingly my favourite is a Oshii film and not Miyazaki as I would have expected of myself. Jin Roh (aka wolf brigade) is without a doubt the most amazingly crafted movie and literary adaptation I've seen to date, the amount of thought that went into the making of the dialogue and actions where amazing, it had just enough action get you hooked and a great plot that is deep and require thoughts and an aboslutely awesome climax that left me breathless. Ending is the only debatable point for me for this anime, while I love the way it ended, I can clearly see how many people might hate this approach, it's tragically beautiful and strangely fitting. Other movie that I love include, Nausicaa (a true classic) Mononoke Hime, Akira (the anime that started mainstream american awareness) and Voice of a distant star (extreme kudo to the director and his wife, for making their animated dream a garage-made reality!). Shi no Tenshi
Spirited Away. No comment really, I just liked it, it was sweet and innocent yet perverted and morbid in so many ways. I've seen quite a few anime films, but this one struck out - damn my obsession with 'Alice in Wonderland' type scenarios.
DragonessFei
My favorite anime movie is Spirited Away, hands down. I love how the movie is very inventive and the animation is excellent! I really loved the characters too. (Haku is my personal favorite) Princess Mononoke is a close second.

Solo Tremaine
I'd read the thread and find out, heh. Or check the Threads Directory at the top of the page to see what might interest you. if I recommended one anime movie for people who liked Dragonball, I'd say either Akira or Princess Mononoke, but they're both very different. It depends what your tastes are. But this isn't a recommendations thread, really- it's for movie discussion. Browse around and see what takes your fancy. Try and make your posts a bit longer in future, please natetron46, and use capital letters wherever you can. The post is so short it's running the risk of being spam.
Dagger
EDIT: Haha, Solo beat me to it. :p
im new to anime and i recently got into dragonball. what should i watch, if you coudl pick one video?
Welcome to OtakuBoards, natetron. ^_^ While this thread would probably be a good place to ask for anime movie recommendations, you'll need to put more thought and detail into your posts if you don't want them to end up getting deleted. Next time, please specify your interests (i.e. what genres you prefer) and at least make a cursory attempt to answer the original poster's main question. ~Dagger~
r2vq
As I've mentioned in other threads, I loved the movie Tokyo Godfathers. It's definately not in the style of most Anime out there (Cartoon Network-only fans wont like it, and dubbies will find it a different taste from what they're used to) but it is nonetheless amazing in every aspect. The story is compellingly funny; the characters are intriguingly hillarious; and the animation is just plain awesome. The setting and the story is so believable, you can't help but feel for the people out in the streets today. Basically, the movie follows three homeless people as they find a child and try to return her to the rightful parents. There is so much detail put into the feeling and setting, it's impossible not to feel for the poor characters. Although the animation is at times zany to reflect the mood, this is one of the most realistic videos I have ever seen. If anyone wants to watch a true anime, watch Tokyo Godfathers. -ArV

Trigun 11
I love Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Miyazaki just has a way with capturing imagination. Even though my first 'anime' movie was Artimage III : Polymatrix. Now THAT was a good movie.

Billy Shears
Tokyo Godfathers was hysterical, but the most standout was Akira. I rank it not just on an anime scale but as one of my top favorite moves I've seen. Plus, the capsule on Kaneda's coat is the shizz-nittle-shiz-bang-shnap (to quote Dave Chapelle ;) )
Stacy_Tramer
Yes, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away were both excellent movies. However, I really like the first Tenchi movie (I believe it was... Tenchi Muyo in Love, which doesn't suit the movie at all, actually) and the Digimon Movie: Our War Games. Yes. I like Digimon. Shut up. >>;; Kiki's Delivery Service was really cute, also.

Dagger
tekken the anime moive is my fav.
Welcome to OtakuBoards, shadowblade. ^_^ Our only requirement for favorites topics is that each of the respondents must justify his or her choice(s). If members neglect to do this, then the thread in question basically becomes pointless. Had your post explained why you like Tekken, it would have been much more likely to encourage some kind of response and thereby help the discussion keep moving along. In the future, please be sure to keep this in mind. ~Dagger~

Shiro_Ryuu
I saw Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and I think that it was very awesome. D is one of the coolest characters ever, and it had great animation. I also like vampires and those kind of things. I totally recommend this movie. I also like Rurouni Kenshin Trust and Betrayal OVA. I thought that it also had really good animation.
