My favorite anime movies are Spirited Away, Metroplis, all the pokemon movies and dbz movies. Spirited Away, I think I seen it 4 times in a row! Metroplis, I don't remember excitly the point of this movie but I like it. Pokemon movies, I have the 1st one on video and the 4th one on dvd. I have seen all the movies except for Pokemon Heros and Jirachi: Wish Maker. The first dbz movie I ever saw was the tree of life or it's a different title? It's still my fave! See ya laters!

It's just awesome. n_n

Heh, unfortunately the thread was asking for favourite movies- make sure replies are on-topic, and also that you can add as much detail to them as possible- incredibly short posts are deleted as spam on OB. -Solo

one word, baby:

Akira

Unfortunately it is just one word, and one-word posts (well, very short posts on the whole) are against the Rules at OtakuBoards- they're normally deleted as spam. It's best to check the Rules out at the first opportunity to prevent embarassing mistakes. -Solo

I also like all three of the Tenchi movies.
Although Tenchi Forever was probably my favorite of the three. I've always like the idea of Ryoko and Tenchi together. Although they didn't get together, just when she and him finally saw each other at the end and how Tenchi though of her and not the others...I was sooo happy. n_n

P.S. I think I just got in trouble for saying Angel Sanctuary was my favorite movie when it was actually a series, but the first post did say we could mention series...didn't it?

Princess Mononoke, the story was awesome, I am a total Ashitaka fan. I also liked the voice acting, the all star hollywood cast made it very pleasurable to watch, for me at least. I love billy bob thorton in this movie, haha, he was great. :D

I must say that my favorite anime movie (s) are Sailor Moon R, S, Super S.......and all the other one's I've watched. For me it's pretty hard to choose between them all. They are all very good in my eyes. I just can't choose! :D

Plus I haven't got to watch any of the Inuyasha movies. YET!!! I bet those are going to be good!! :p

I did a quick search of this thread and couldn't find anyone who mentioned this movie: The Grave of the Fireflies.

I'd advise you all to go check it out. It's not chockfull of fantastical creatures, or karate-chopping, samurai-sword swinging mofos, but it's one of the most endearing movies I'm ever seen. It's beautiful in its presentation - the dialogue is very intelligent and poignant - and best of all, it made me cry.... and not in disgust.

Go rent it or buy it.

My favorite anime movie would be a hard decision between the first two Inuyasha movies.
They both are action-packed, have comedy, and romance, but I still can't decide which one I like better. :)

Well, for me, Spirited Away and Grave of the Fireflies tie. I absolutely hated Princess Mononoke, and Samarai X...

The Sailor Moon movies were lovely... but the plot was repetitive. Bad guy comes, gets his butt kicked.

Spirited Away and Grave of the Fireflies were both positively beautiful-- plot, animation, voices... everything was great. The InuYasha movies were good, too...

But not as good. :D

Knocking on Heaven's Door( The Cowboy Bebop movie), is indeed a great movie, however my top 5 goes as follows...

1. Fist of the North Star ( in my opinion, the greatest anime and manga ever!)
2. Ninja Scroll
3. Spriggan
4. Akira
5. Knocking on Heaven's Door

Those would also be my favorite but, I have yet to seem them. Where did you get them. Do you know when they will come out in stalk in Texas. I know for a fact that those Inuyasha movies would no doubt be my favorite. If I had found, bought, and watched them. :D

My favorite anime movie is Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. This is one anime movie that gets everything right. It's got a surprisingly good romantic story, engulfed with some of best action sequences presented in quality animation, artwork, and soundtrack. Undoubtedly, the most surprising aspect of the film is that its main language track is English, and even more surprising is the cast's excellent performance. This is one of those anime that's very easy to recommend to pretty much anyone.

Macross Plus would be my second choice, if not for the intriguing world it takes place in, then for the clash of personalities and history of the three main characters. I wish I had the second OAV DVD to watch the longer version, as I only have the movie edition and the first OAV DVD.

Ninja Scroll would place third, as it's simply an entertaining fightfest with some of the coolest characters ever created. Too bad the TV series fails to live up to the anime classic...

If The End of Evangelion and Samurai X: Trust, Betrayal, and Reflection were real movies, I'd pick them over all of the above, but they originated on TV and/or OAV format. Macross at least got converted into a movie.

For some odd reason, while I love anime series/OVAs, the movies don't have the same affect on me o.o' I've seen many anime movies but none really stick out as being something fabulous, and if I listed the movies I've seen, I'm sure some people would shoot me for not thinking they are all the greatest things on Earth =P

I guess I'll pick ummm... Spirited Away, though I disliked it's ending (did NO ONE else get that feeling of 'that's it?! that's the big mystery?!'), I guess it's still the best...

This is a pretty hard decision. i have only seen a few anime movies but there was a couple i really liked. The cowboy beebop movie was excellent and i also enjoyed akira and spriggan.
But my favourite anime movie is about 20 years old here in australia it was called Voltes V 5 and it was about five young kids who piloted five seperate aircrafts and they formed one giant robot called Voltes. I was always a sucker for the big robots and i still am today.

I'd say that's it's either Jin-roh or The end of Evangelion, even though they are kinda disturbbing.... The psychological state of the characters were well portraited and that's very important in a movie for me. The use of symbology is also very effective in a way that you learn more from one scene than just the action or the dialog allows you to.... For the same reasons I also like Metropolis, Grave of the fireflies and X.

I would have to say the 1st anime movie I watched was Akira ,I still like it.Then Sin that was a good anime movie kinda short like most of them are.And Spirited Away and may I add was a VERY good movie I know I watched that movie 5times.Yu-gi-oh was the most recent movie I have seen and it was very good too. There is one movie that I have its ok I would never recommend is Blood, not because of its shortness but, the anime looked all wrong.

Your posts are somewhat difficult to read. Please try to clean them up a bit.

Far and away my favorite movie would have to be Princess monoke. The quality of the animation is top notch and the whole movie just is awesome. I also like the cowboy bebop movie, just because it's bebop.
