Ben
I always thought it was pretty tragic whenever Vectorman died in his games. I mean, the guy literally fell to pieces. Pitiful.
Gelgoog Pilot
Iamcrazyfangirl THANK YOU! I had forgotten to post that one! I hated it too.
Llyod wipes out the dragon buster and runs him through...sad I loved him too so loyal and so nice. Also the video that Rose remembers of the previos Dragoons dying during the battle with the winglies. I thought that was sad how almost all of them perished. Mostly to save a comrade as well. OR when at the science city where the Kraken was and the robots there die...man I liked them too.
Now that I think about it Legend of the Dragoon had a LOT of killing even the begining movied had some. Though, that's what made that game so great the feeling that the world was actually in turmoil.
Gavin
I was never really bothered by
Aeris's
demise either, I mean sure it was a bit out of the blue and I was a little saddened by it the first time but really she had no real impact on the game as a character. She could have been more useful later on but again she wasn't really anything more than the token magical character. I really agree that the characters from FFVI have a much more "human" feeling to them, you really do bond with them and are upset when something happens to them. I've yet to even half finish them game (something I really have to do) but so far my saddest death has been
Cyan's family
as said by Semjaza and Shinmaru. I was sad to see the proud and brave warrior crippled in such and underhanded way by the bastard Kefka. One of the saddest deaths I remember was in The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time when
The Great Deku Tree dies
I know he's replaced but you still feel kind of sad for him.
General Carville
from Red Alert II was another sad but rather comic death, damn evil but hilarious Crazy Ivans.
BlueYoshi
Whether or not
Aeris' death
was craptastic or visually dramatic, it was a change. Usually, when characters like that go ahead and depart from the main crew, they expect to be followed and rescued, and that is what tends to happen in most cases and leaves absolutely no room for plot and whatnot. I can honestly say that I wasn't expecting
her to die
because of how familiar I am with the usual outcome of the "babe in the woods" routine. It's just so common in all types of media that it has practically killed itself off.
Shinmaru
Argh...guess I'll come in here once again and remind people to use spoiler tags. Whenever you give away a secret or a spoiler for a game or whatever, USE THE SPOILER TAGS. That way, other people will not accidently see them if they don't want to. [*spoiler] your text here [*/spoiler] is how you use the spoiler tags, except you do not use the * when you use the actual tags. Got it? Good. Use them, please. Delta
Tragic Deaths (I've two.) 1)
Lavitz from LoD!!! (thanks for pointing that out, Iamcrazyfangirl!)
He WAS cute. And strong too! And his combo attacks are easy to execute. And... and... I miss him so. 2)
Psycho Mantis' in Metal Gear... everybody dies in MG...
Yeah, I agree with semjaza.
Aeris was killed too early in the game! I really hoped that Cait Sith could just die in Aeris' stead.
:D
mangakiwi
The most tragic video game death ever was in chrono trigge
When Lucca's mom died and I was frantically Mashing Buttons untill she was squished by the machine
That was so sad. But my second time through I saved her :D
Guest Heimlichkeit
in this thread, you tell me what you think is the most tragic video ame character death. Mine would have to be
Aeris from Final Fantasy VII
. And i'm sure many would agree with me if they saw it :bawl: Im sorry, I need to go use a tissue... :( Please remember to use spoiler tags when revealing information about a game's plot. You use the tags by doing {spoiler}text{/spoiler}, only substituting [ ] for { }. - Shinmaru
Wow, i was just reading title, and i decided to post that same one, and i didn't think like anyone would bring it up. But, that's like the most tragic death for me as well
Sol-Blade
I would have to say the most tragic death(s) i've seen were in Dynasty Warriors. Hundreds and hundreds of soldiers lost their lives! To you! The player! Shame on you... Im just kidding...(sort of)...the most tragic death in my mind was probably
Grey Fox
from Metal Gear Solid. Gavin
I suppose another one of the more tragic deaths in video games would be
Farah from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
. I mean you go through practically the whole game with her,
the Prince
goes from having nothing but mistrust for her to wanting to marry her. I remember looking at that Sand Vision and think that
Farah was going to turn against you and steal the dagger
. I remember getting to the cutscene
where she's holding onto the dagger at one end and the Prince his holding the blade, then she looks down at the ground and lets go
. I remember thinking that it was just so unfair the way she had to die, I mean it was entirely unexpected and then when
the Vizier rubs it in when the Prince is holding her body
I was truly pissed off. It was one of the more sad deaths I've had in video games.
Guest DarkWizard
The most tragic VG death would be
Emma from Metal Gear Solid 2.
The fact that you got her out then she gets a slow death in Otacon's arms is so sad. I was on the verge of tears.
Sol-Blade
*sarcasm* Oh yeah everyone cries when
Emma, the little girl kicked the bucket
... But did anyone shed tears when
Olga got a slug in her head and died near the end of the game
? Uh huh...thought so. Sometimes people make me sick. *end of sarcasm*
Desbreko
Eesh. ... I think I'll be closing this about now. There's just been too little quality spread too thin across too many posts lately. Simply saying "______'s death was sad" or some other equivalent isn't enough to make a decent post.
