Will2x and I made jokes about you dying in our Story Story thread. That's about all I remember.

That thread was, of course, promptly deleted and disposed of. Shortly thereafter, I was banned for 2 years because I was a little asshole.

You know what it's like when you're that age... can't control yourself and you feel lik rebelling. Puts some hair on your chest!

*I wouldn't call anything in my life precious, and my moments here certainly aren't "precious."

Bah, the damn word isn't even in my vocabulary.

There is also the uprising of Ultimia, or however he spelled the name, lol. H was a member who was hell-bent on becoming a moderator. Needless to say, he never got his wish.

There wa also some other guy I cannot remember his name. Spikey, or something. t is a little more recent. Mostly I do not think he did anything publicly, but went behind the scenes with blatant threats and such to take down OB or something.

A personal good memory of mine was when Topaz was around way back when. I would say was the first friend I had here. Actually, I would noeven be here if it was not for her, heh. I e-mailed her originally to compliment her on her fanart on theOtaku.com. After that we began talking and she told me she posted here, so I checked it out. I had my original name, which I am sure nobody but myself knows, lol. It did not last very long at all. Not even a week I would say. I then re-registered under pyrodragon13 and evolved over time in PiroMunkie.

Then of course there were the OB Marriages. The original minister, the beloved AJeh. That is how Queen Asuka and I came together. We were the second couple wed, I believe, but we are the longest to last. =) I also remember someone trying to marry Sara/Lore against her will. That was rather bizarre.

Those are the ones I can think of that I believe have not been mentioned yet. ^_^

I don't think it was Spikey. He was only nine or ten years old--and he always came across to me as a good, well-meaning kid. Then again, that threat is so generic and overused, we could probably paste at least fifty names in there. :D

I believe it was Herman Nation he is talking about, who was a friend of Spikey's. As it turns out, dozens of members have made the threat to "Destroy OB" over the years. My favorite is when bad members are banned, and try to sneak back onto the boards with a different user name. If we didn't like you as "Gotrunks89655" what makes you think we are going to like you are "Hyperionmon"?

Dude..... I forgot when I came.

Well, I first came when I was trying to look for a digidex, and I found Ginnylyn's on theOtaku. Then, I found the boards, and have been here since.

I liked it when Tylore Hewitt(or something like that) and his ex- internet wife thing got banned. I mean, that was so missed up. He feel in love with a girl over the computer. I found that kinnda freaky. He tried to come back, but a he got flamed by some mod-wannabe and the guy who married his ex-internet wife over the internet.

Then there was this one time I got a AIM PM from this friend of Ohkami's. I swear he said he might go to jail because he bought a message board with his parents money or something like that. I still don't remember his username.

The whole Anime guyXguy thing fan club and their little fights with MillieFan, Charles S.H.I.T avatar, and mod-wannabe thing was funny too. And every single post by DW....
I have seen Ohkami's face ^__^
Sure people have threatened OB over the years, but he sticks out in particular. He was around long enough to actually have people develop a keen spite for him, rather than just some 'n00b' coming along with his/her "ub3|2 l337 h4x00r 5|<1llz!"

I also remember a time when OB started getting pop-ups without any notice. So the host was e-mailed and threatened to publicize their e-mail address for spamming, lol. The pop-ups ceased after that.

Ah. Memories. Probably the best being Latham Adatym. First rpg I was ever in, and the reason I joined the boards, at that. There were only five of us, Ravenstorture, Raiha, RicoTranzrig, LiamC2 and myself (Cloricus was in there for a short while...and the arguments that ensued from that were nearly as good as the ones mentioned below), but we still got it up to 400 posts, and managed to end it semi coherently. A lot of fun that.

SYF. Liam's wonderchild, the third incarnation recently died. I was only the last one, but they all make great reading. Liam doesn't really get a lot of credit for it, but he's done quite a few great rpgs.

Online: Another World. One of James' early attempts at revolutionising the Adventure Arena (or whatever it was called back then)...we even had little avatars for our characters. It was damn good, but suffered and untimely death. Pity.

The ES Clan, or whatever they called themselves. A group I was marginally affilliated with, they tended to make for great adventuring company.

The wonderful debates that used to crop up in Otaku Lounge. Before the threads started getting done to death, you used to be able to get into a very heated debate in nearly every thread running. Cloricus and I used turn every thread we posted in into an argument, which annoyed the hell out of the mods at the time, as I remember, but it was fun.

Rae (Lady Asphxia) and Dark_Apocalyps's newbie poaching.

The day Mnemolth decided to absent himself semi-permanently was also a rather happy event. Though, his rpg writing competition (I can't even remember what it was called), was rather fun...until he made us write poetry, and only one person graced him with a reply. It kind of died after that.

And mainly just the good old days when I had enough time to partipate in a score or so or rpgs and spars.

The only real negatives I can think off handedly were moderating the recruitment forum (There are a lot of stupid people out there), and having to deal with a lot of Taylor Hewwit's early posts. That was really, really trying.

Do you mean AL or AE? If you meant AE then let us not forget that funny time when AL flooded the Battle arena with posts that took three sections to fill lol. Took a good month to clean all that up... Ah memories.

What is "AL"?

It's funny that OtakuBoards has such a rich history. Version 7 has had a more "grown up" atmosphere...which has meant that we don't get many colourful things happening anymore. Well, nothing bad anyway -- the only truly interesting stuff these days involves the big RPGs and the various debates, competitions, etc...

Although, that guy who posted the gory images...I think he has left a mark for some of us. But it's definitely not something I will ever look back on as being funny/interesting. Actually, it's quite cruel to allow people to unwittingly see stuff like that (especially if it's something they really don't want to see).

Ah well. Thankfully the vast majority of the members weren't subjected to that. And I'm glad -- no kids/teens should be witness to that kind of stuff.

Oh. I don't remember that. When did it happen? I assume a Moderator/Team Leader cleaned it up over time, 'cause I never heard about it.

You want the threads? I remember seeing you responding saying that the length of a character sheet is unlimited but for the respect of your opponents to limit its length cause no one wants to spend hours reading it. This happened a few months before V.7 was to be made. A few months before you shut the site down to upload it. The threads are: I like being right ^_^

There's random moments here that I've enjoyed...

The first being the eventual removal of Herman/Shift from the technical support crew. The kid talked big, but couldn't do much of anything correctly. He's one of the main reasons OB had so many random issues when it went down.

He was finally banned too, which was a great day, I think. He posted like crap in general and just annoyed me on AIM too. One of those people who would direct connect with you, show you some lame banner (that looked like every other banner they made), you'd say "cool" and they'd close the window. Never actually talked to you. All of his other conversations with me revolved around me doing stuff for him, like hosting a game for his stupid Quake 3 clan. Yeah right.

He's back under unique.identity or some other nonsense like that, but luckily doesn't bother me anymore.

Another favorite moment of mine was way back when we still had a Zelda forum. Some kid came in and posted a thread called "Who likes Link!?" which had nothing to it and was idiotic for obvious reasons. I absolutely went off on this kid because of how stupid this was and how tired I was of "What game character is the hottest!?" being the biggest thread in the gaming area.

I don't think he ever came back.

I also liked the time that Max Sonic created like three accounts and pretended they were different people. He had an argument with himself in one thread. Absolutely classic.

It's a shame that all his posts were pruned. I'd love to read that again.

Anyway, those are mine. I'm a jerk, obviously.

Heh, reading through these replies has been really great ^^ I mean, I'm not sure how long I?ve been here now.....maybe 3/4 months? Well, anyway, its great here and I try to visit everyday.

Most people who visit the Adventure Arena would know who I am, since that has become my second home (I dream of being a mod there).

It's weird how I got here actually, it was pure curiosity. I noticed in the backroom of my Otaku site (6 month anniversary next month!) that there was the option to put a link to the Otakuboards. I was thinking, 'What are the Otakuboards?' so I set of on my journey into discovery and I found this wonderful place.

I think everyone, new or old members, knows how great a place this is. Whether you like discussing games, Role-playing or whatever there seems to be everything here for anyone.

The people are great and the Mods are great, although I have not had the honour of talking to one yet ;) , everything is great! *cheers*

Oh yeah, reading over that Kuja issue was damn funny, it put a smile on my face ^^

It's odd that even though I've been here two years as of June 6th, I still feel somewhat of an outsider to OB at times ^_^; I missed a lot of colourful history, joining during version 4 or 5 (I can't really remember which). I've grown a lot, though, as have the Boards.

I remembered the Digimon forum as it used to be- for ages after I joined it remained a really prosperous forum, but over time (and probably thanks to Fox Kids/ABC mucking schedules about and not broadcasting Season 4 to the UK), the whole thing fell apart a bit. It was a great shame, because that's where I've replied to some of my favourite topics. I go back and read them again from time to time, heh.

Becoming a Moderator was definately a Precious Moment. I was high for ages. An then there's the first thread closure, first post edit, blahdiblah... I loved Moderating the Yu-Gi-Oh forum, but certain people did make life difficult for me. Altron Gundam being banned was quite a relief, despite the fact that he could be helpful and was an alright guy. But I kept losing respect for him every time he'd lash out. And he came back again to do exactly the same thing over and over again. Six times >.>

I developed who I'd consider my first OB nemesis, too- Kaizer_boy. He didn't last long, thankfully. Incredibly irritating person to me and pretty much everyone else.

My first RPG was fun, although it didn't manage to get as far as it was supposed to (they never seem to, though). Digimon, In The Real World?!?!?, or something like that. Ginny, Sara and Shy all joined up too, although it fell apart after seven pages, the last four of which became incredibly confusing.

Sage's Digimon Masters RPG was fantastic stuff- the first one I've been in that actually finished properly, and it was terriffically written to boot.

OtakuBards Big Brother II was hilarious all the way through, and a few of the jokes in it still get thrown around from time to time. DeathKnight was well deserving of the victory, heh. Although all of the last group could have taken it just as equally.

Coming back to OB after the month-long upgrade two years ago was nice; shiney new Boards where I didn't have to worry about getting 500 posts to have a custom avatar or anything like that. It was still nice building up posts to change your titles, though. I think the most I got to was 'Member' before becoming a Moderator. I'd still only be an 'Otaku' at the moment, I think. Whenever you progressed to a new 'level' as it were, you felt kind of euphoric for a while then got straight back to posting wondering how long it'd take you to get to the next one. 'Course, now we can type whatever we want up there, heh...

EDIT: The 300 Foot Potato, legacy of the chats I used to get into with Dan L (formerly Deus Ex Machina) and Red (formerly Elite). Those were fantastic...

I don't think anyone would consider that funny, but I'd say I got the full brunt of that. Moreso than anyone else here. What a horrible day that was.

For those that don't know, I was the only mod on that was actually able to delete posts across the entire board. I managed to ban the kid, but I was still left with around 20 posts that I had to remove. It didn't help that there is no "prune posts" option for Category Mods, so I had to do each one individually. Really time consuming, tedious and disgusting.

It didn't help that the little drop down menu wouldn't work because the size of the picture threw the whole thread layout off. I had to scroll down and click on "edit" for every post, which meant I had to see pretty much the entire image each time. I actually kind of got used to it, as horrible as that sounds.

IT also didn't help that there were a couple members doing nothing but creating threads that complained about what was going on. We're not automatic robots. I don't know what people expected.

Anyway, I'm done.

There are a lot of things I remember being great about OB, so Ill just highlight a select few that stand out for me:

Becoming Moderator for Pokemon- My anniversary of being Modded is actually coming up pretty soon, lol. Like Solo, I was too through when I was asked. And the best thing about it was, I never saw it coming, lol. I'd hardly ever talked to any Moderators or James, so it was a huge shock when he asked me. Although, being the Pokemon freak I was back then, I shouldn't have really been so surprised...

I was just as happy when I was put over Manga Workshop during the v7 upgrade. Now that I'm just about as big on manga as I was on Pokemon, it seems like a good fit to me, lol.

Otaku Big Brother II- Ah, OBBII. The lovely memories it brings back.

I had an absolute ball in that event (and I'm still looking forward to OBBIII *pokes a certain coodinator*), though I never found out when we had the first one....

Anywho, I met a lot of good friends there, and laughed a lot at all the crazy situations we made up. Of course, OBBII was also the birthplace of the infamous Mini-Ken and all his plushie friends, and no one can deny their greatness. *nods firmly*

Jeh's Breakdowns- All the times in the past when Jeh used to go behind some shoddily thrown together post by some member in OL and break it down to prove how wrong they were. Oh, the laughs I had.... I miss them.

Only a few of a lot of shining moments here at OB for me. ^^

I've been on and off of the OBs for about a year now. I started off as Doube_B_Daigo. The club leader with horrible grammar and a taste for Wolfwood banners (aswell with arguements over fan-fic Yaoi with maladjusted with lasted for pages). Then I moved to my current pad, in which time my AOL account wouldn't allow me onto the OBs. I became Moderator of a smaller, less intelligent board (complete with SPAM area and One paragraph RPGs) and brought the OB flavor into the place with an Adventure Arena revolving around the OB's old rules. Created the ReFlux persona while there and started typing in green size one font. Eventually when v.7 was created, I was able to rejoin the OBs as ReFlux, a more mature member. :D

Here are some OB moments I'll always remeber:

- Creating the Armegeddon Gang and starting that little revolution.
- Being challenged on a daily, almost hourly basis at the Battle Arena.
- The good 'ole Rap Battle Thread that lasted longer than any previous post at the BA.
- Rivalries at that battle with Kazuko and Drix D'zanth.
- Being awarded 'cAttitude' by the great Charles.
- My Trigun RPGs.
- The first and very successful "War of the Shadows" RPG.
- Kill Adam Vol. 1
- The Kill Adamania that followed.
- Maladjusted's "OB Wraiths" Banner.
- The Martial Arts and Philosophy Threads Taken Way Outta Hand.
- The Second Rap Battle Thread.
- Actually being nominated for the Otaku Awards.
- Leaving the OBs for a short period.
- Bringing Shiguru with me in my return from the pink darkness that was GF.
- Dragon Warrior's Short Stories.
- Dragon Warrior's animations and banners.
- Semjaza Azazel's posts.
- Charles rapping.
- Charles locking the rap battle thread.
- My Kill Adam Vol. 2 Sign up (and the inspiration it has hear out given me.)
- The always cool and generous Ruby and our conversations.
- The stange relationship between me and Trigun11.
- Getting asian_bullet to stop posting after beating him in rap battles on several occasions.... (man I'm good)

Thats all I can really recall at the moment. I'm sure more will come up.
For all of you, new members or not, mods or admins, post in why you're here at OB. What makes OB special? Any funny, naughty, wierd or memorable moments? threads? posts? or even quotes from other members?
Why I'm here at OB? Well, I was introduced to it by a friend of mine on here. At first she just wanted me to read the RPG Trigun: A New Start(which she and I ended, by ourselves after us being the only two to post in it for about four pages straight). I then went ahead and joined OB so I could start an RPG of some sort as well.

My first posts weren't spammy or anything. They were ok, in a way. I needed a little help and I got it from a few members of whom I still remember quite well(Anime Otaku, T Man, and Annie, just to name a few). They explained a few things to me I was unclear about and I went on my way, beginning my very first RPG. It was simply entitled, Ruroni Kenshin.

I had about five members sign-up for it and it was going along pretty well...for awhile. Then it met its untimely death because nobody was posting in it. It only made it to four pages. The death of my first RPG was hard on me, but, I went ahead and began a new one. Sadly enough, I believe that one and a few of the others that followed, died as well. Oddly enough, most of the RPG's I've joined have died. oO

But, anyway, my firts successful RPG has been .hack//TRUTH, which is still going. It started in January or February, just before OB went under so they could upgrade to v7, and its still not finished. In fact, we're only on Phase 4, with 13 pages all together in the thread.

On to the other questions, though, before I start rambling on.

What makes OB special? What I think makes OB special is its members. Like, on most other forums you'll visit, the members don't read the rules, don't listen to the Moderators and will flame you, just because you don't agree with their point of view. Here on OB, that kind of thing is not likely to happen. *Most* members read the rules, listen to the Moderators and are all very nice. ^_^ Willing to help out newer members, you know, push them in the right direction and whatnot.

Any funny, naughty, weird or memorable moments? Well, I'll name the few that I was around to witness. I've only been here since v6, in December of 2003.

Rurouni Kenshin: River of Time (Hilarious RPG, very lengthy as well. I still haven't read the entire thing)

Dragon Warriors movies: When the James Stole Christmas, Super Otaku Brothers, the Mr. T one (can't remember the name of that one...), and Shinmaru Gets A Job.

OB: Enter the Net

Well, one thing that I love about the OtakuBoards that has failed to be mentioned yet is ADAM'S ANGELS! We started a good while ago, comprising of me, BabyGirl, and Lady M. Deb and Jen are around somewhere, and I write to Jenna all the time. So far I've drawn a picture for each year that we've been established, with Sara doing the coloring for this year's picture. It's AWESOME. ^_^

And hey, how awesome is it that PiroMunkie and I have been married for two and a half years? ^_^

On a more personal note...there are a lot of precious moments for me.

-Getting to know all of my friends on OB. I feel blessed to know you and be friends with you...

-Getting nominated for something in the otaku awards and actually getting an award.

-Shy86 and Syk86

-Charles banning Ben for fun for a short while

-Marriage with Charles
