Hayashi Hansuke
I know that every otaku has a favorite line/phrase/satings/verses in their favorite animes. I just want to know what are them and explain why they liked it and if that line/phrase/satings/verses affected their outlook in life. For me, It would be the verse in Ruruoni Kenshin OVA 1 or 2 (can you tell me what OVA no. is when Kenshin fights a group of rebels where Yoshi idolizes one of them because their will is like the will of Yoshi's father?) "The greatest skies is infinitely high and crystal clear!" For me, It means that it's not impossible to dream. It teached me to dream for myself and my loved ones. It teached me to dream without limitations even if my dream for others is impossible but if I will be determined to do it, I can achieve that "impossible dream"

Inuyasha: *stares at Sango blabbing away about Miroku and Koharu* Sango: What, Why are you staring? Inuyasha: I may just be imagining it, Sango, but do I sense a little Jealousy? Sango: *gets mad* It's your imagination Inuyasha: *shivers while hiding behind Kagome* Shippo: wow Kagome: If you say so. I laughed for a long time after that, and keep watching that episiode JUST for that!

Solo Tremaine
This thread should be for discussing your favourite quotes, not just for posting short, spammy transcripts from animes. If the posts continue to be of bad enough quality, I'll close the thread. It's happened before, and I've no doubt it'll happen again. Cahoots34
Well, I could try to be rather throughtful about this, or I could simply go with "Omae wo korosu!" as uttered by Hiiro Yui of Gundam Wing fame, soleply for the fact that it is so very fun to shout in crowded corridors in your local high school/library/insane asylum. Secily
My favorite anime is .hack//SIGN, and there was one quote there that I still can't stop thinking about... Ginkan-"Why do you run?" Tsukasa-"Because I think it's fun." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's another... "How strange...this can't be." croaked Tsukasa. "Hey, calm down..." says Mimiru, pushing him back to the ground.Tsukasa flies at her, then shouts, "LEAVE ME ALONE!". "What did you say?" says Mimiru. "Can't you just...leave me alone?" Tsukasa asks, wide-eyed. "Leave you alone?", Mimiru begins. "Who do you think you are? You are unbelievably selfish. I don't want to be the one to say this, but the net is the same as the real world. There are certain rules you have to observe when dealing with people, and you won't be treated with any respect if you don't get some manners!!! Hummph." "Yeah, I know that, but I would like it if you would just leave me alone from now on, okay?" Tsukasa says. "So, just leave you alone?" replies Mimiru. Tsukasa agrees audibly. "Alright...oh, I wanted to tell you. Remember you said you didn't like me before? Didn't you?" Mimiru adds threateningly. "I did..." Tsukasa says, almost inaudibly. "Good," Mimiru cuts in,"because I hate your guts!!" She shouts. "Well good then," Tsukasa says, almost in a relieved way, "so we agree, so you'll really leave me alone then, will you...I'll just ignore you, and we'll just go our separate ways--- *SLAP* "Daahh...ahh" Tsukasa exclaims quietly. *Cries* "Later!" Mimiru shouts over her shoulder. *It hurts..." says Tsukasa. "Why me?...Why me..." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These are some of my favorite quotes because they come from memorable parts of the show, and I actually took out my DVD and took notes to post that... Orcus
I just started watchg Lupin III. I was over at my friends house watching it, and Lupin and that Detctive guy were fishingfor a case in the water. THey both pulled to hard and the money that was inside the case fell in the water. Then Lupin yelled out: "Let's make like a tree, and get the hell outa here!" That was funny.
Okita
Well it's fairly obvious what my favourite quote is, though to be precise, the motto of the shinsengumi isn't just part of animedom. Aku Soku Zan! Evil Swift Slay~ so simple yet so full of the very concept that make up a samurai. Another would the end of bebop
where Spike poke his hangdout and whispered *bang* while using his hand gesture to immitate a gun,
that scene as well as the circumstance behind it was simply mindblowing... (you have to watch the series to appreciate the dept of that single gesture and what it represent)
DeathBug
This world is made of love and p;eace! Ah, the great wisdom of Vash the Stampede... Yoh Asakura's mantra is also nice: Everything will work out.. I could think of a dozen cool conversations, but I prefer shorter sayings, particularly those used often by the characters.

Richard Doherty
I haven't watched as much anime as some people out there, mostly due to geographic reasons and my own stupidity. But from the series I have watched, I will state some quotes. Love Hina Keitaro-*Climbs through the hole in Narus floor and his p.j. pants get caught and are pulled down* Naru-"What the hell do you think you're showing!? Bam! Hellsing Alucard-"You bastard, you called my master a sow" Cowboy Bebop Spike-"Bang" Just some good, memorable quotes, although I don't think the Love Hina one is exactly word for word. ChibiHorsewoman
One of my favorite anime quotes is by an anime character who I believe is even more perverted than Miroku. An anime character who is about three feet tall and a Shinto Priest. My favorite anime quote is by Hino Rei's granpa from Sailor Moon. The episode is from the second half of the R season when Rei's granpa had ended up in a magazine article which was warning young women to stay away from the Hikawa Shrine because of his pervertedness. Rei said that he should stop chasing after pretty girls and His reply was: A shrine without pretty girls is like miso soup without the miso. I thought that was pretty good all things considering. And although I can't really attest to how a shrine would be without pretty girls if it's as bad as having miso soup without miso then the pretty girls must be necessary.
Guest Legato_24
My favorite would have to be from my personal favorite anime, Trigun. "Life is like an incessant series of problems, all difficult, with brutal choices, and a time limit. The worst thing you can do is to make no choice, waiting for the ideal conclusion to present itself." - Chapel the Evergreen
TheGodlyME
hehe... "Look here comes a twister!! OH NO!! IT BROUGHT JAWS" (picture a shark menacingly flying around a huge tornado) "QUICK THROW OXYGEN CANISTERS" (shark becomes so full of canisters that the shape of its body is distorted) **BOOM!!** I like Hollywood Shotengai...thank you Abenobashi...I like this quote just because of the lack of rationalism, and the extreme amount of comedy. Trigun 11
My Favorites Spike From Cowboy Bebop - Bang! ( Like everyone else said You ahve to watch teh series to understand it) Wolfwood from Trigun 11- "May you go with God's protection. Oh yeah, Thanks for the apple". I use that with My 'Anime' buds when I'm leaving.... The Soloquie for Lost July-The longer one holds on to a memory... the longer one lives in the past. The deeper the memory they hold onto is... the more beautiful the past will become. The beautified memories will eventually turn into hate... Even if they look ahead, they lose the ability to walk. As long as the heavy chain called Revenge continues to fetter the heart. As long as the tears of sadness continue to flow." - Don't ask me Why I just like it alot. And The Infamous " Love and Peace!" ......... It's funny to shout that in the hallways at school... Weird Looks you'll get
Ezekiel
My favourites are from Slayers really, that show is soooo funny; - "Fiancee....is that a pickle?" -Gourry Why do I like it? Because it's so funny and sums Gourry up nicely. - Sore wa himitsu desu! (Now that is a secret *insert cocky laughter here*) -Xellos This is so funny, I say it to my friends, in Japanese of course, and they either have no idea what I'm talking about or it just annoys the heck outta them ^^ - "Baka saru!" -Sanzo, really, this needs no explanation...it's just a classic. My personal faves - Urasaii! -Sanzo, mostly, just becasue it sounds cool when you shout it at someone - Omae o korosu (I'll kill you)- Heero Yuy, he says it to Relena, that's reason enough for me ^^ Yeah, most of my favourites are the Japanese versions, but I do prefer subbed to dubbed animes so that's why. Oh yeah, I know this isn't an anime quote but it's so funny; (From Aliens) Guy (to a VERY buff woman): Have you ever been told that you look like a man? Woman: No, have you? timeless classic

Solo Tremaine
I think it's probably best to stop this thread before it decays much further. Even with the 'and why??' suffix at the end of the title, it's still not generating the kind of discussion we try and encourage at OB. I've no doubt it'll turn up again soon anyway. Thanks to those who put effort into their posts. Reccacool, please try and add more detail to your replies in future- I know the subject doesn't give a huge amount to talk about, but some elaboration would be nice.
