Okay.
So right now I'm obsessed with drag queens.
I don't, in all honesty, know why. I named my baby bunnie Priscilla (as in Priscilla: Queen of the Desert) and have been spending my days listening to "The Origin of Love" from Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Has anyone else heard that song?
Is anyone else here finding themselves constantly urged to go out and see Rocky Horror?

Sophie

PS: I did the Time Warp at my prom.

Supposedly there are some really good gay bars in my city with some decent Drag Queen shows.

Unfortunatly the only time I ever went to go see one they ended up botching teh tiem when it would start so I skipped it.

I've never been tempted to go see Rocky Horror, but I can get people to cross dress. But first I have to get them drunk. That takes time and effort. But it's well worth it to see a burly guy in your prom dress.

Seriously, I love drag queens too. I'll just never be friends with one again (well, maybe not for a while). The queen I knew was a bit too much a of drama queen, had a big crush on my husband and decided that he hoped I had a misscarriage when I told him he should stop drinking so heavily and grow up.

Drag Queens are funny, for one thier men dressing up as women expressing their personalities and sexuality...which makes it funny. Also they canstart a lot of fights like RuPaul and come famous Drag Queen did like on one of the MTV Movie Awards  Perosnaly I dont like the idea of Gay guys dressing up like women cause their probably the reason some poeple think gay men are all girly and junk like that, but we're not! I know some people and gays are open with their fellings, bu to take it to a level of dressing like a women draws the line for me. I just think its creepy....funnny but creepy.

That ****'s ****** up and you all know it is.

I always make fun of them. I don't know if it's right, but I don't care.

Aw, and you were being so well-behaved lately, too.

I think the old rule applies; if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Pretty simple. OtakuBoards doesn't allow for pointless baiting/flaming/etc.

Let's use our brains, people. If you don't like the topic, don't participate.

*nod* And it does for many, myself included. Many gay people are somewhat feminine, but doing that is an extreme. Personally, I used to get angry because of the stereotype it adapts in many heterosexuals' eyes towards gay people.

Honestly though, these days drag queens intrigue me. I've never actually seen a performance in real life, but from what I've seen on various gay-themed television it looks like something fun to go watch! Since gay bars aren't my scene, I wouldn't be running into that sort of thing often. I actually saw a drag... king...(?) on "The L Word" (a lesbian-based drama much like "Queer as Folk"). What are women dressed up and performing as men called?

This topic brings back memories, lol.

I love the idea of cross-dressing, and I have participated in it before. Mainly it was at cast parties for a high school theater I participated in; an all-girl school, so they had the tradition to dress the boys in drag, lol. Oddly, I was the only one never to really put up a struggle. Eventually the school found out about it though, and said "don't do that." Though, we still did it occasionally. I remember being a cheerleader and hitting on all the guys, lol. Especially the ones that were homophobic. The girls would complain that I have a better body than they do, lol.

I actually own a long, black skirt now. I cannot wear it often, because my mom would flip out and confiscate it. Occasionally I like to have people do something with my hair (friends, not actual hair stylists). I would say a pair French braids are my favorite so far.

I have never been a fan of make-up, but if it is for fun, I do not mind. I do not put it on regularly or anything. I only own a black eyeliner pencil and some hot pink nail polish, anyway.

So yeah, it is fun to do, lol.

And Rocky Horror owns ... I used to have an avatar and sig image based off it. Not to long ago.

It's like you've known me all my life. My boyfriend has a thing about crossdressing d: in the funny sense that is.

Drag queens are cool, especially people like Brian Molko and such. There are a few gay bars around and I've TRIED to convince my boyfriend to take me and let me say I used to be a man but to no avail.
