Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors

Yes, you heard me right. Those of you who have been sorely disappointed with the current crop of Dragonball Z portables have a reason to rejoice. Let's face it, this is the game DragonBall Z: Taiketsu should have been. In the short article I've provided, you'll notice that it's compared to a Capcom fighter--which is never a bad thing. Considering the art style closely resembles something from Capcom's stable, I'm inclined to hope for the best.

It's surely refreshing to see a two-dimensional DragonBall Z fighter handled properly. You should notice that the sprites and overall art style are more faithful to the anime than the recently released Taiketsu. I mean they're much more pleasing to the eye than the deformed-looking pre-rendered pixelated blobs Taiketsu offers.

This could possibly be the best DragonBall Z fighter since Legends. Unless of course, you fancy the Budokai series (which plays more like a Virtua Fighter or Dead or Alive clone than a DragonBall Z game).

The large battle area certainly sounds interesting too. These games should never be confined to one screen.

I'm excited. Hopefully it will see an American release. What do you think?

By the way, here are some Taiketsu images so you can draw a direct comparison for laughs.

Meh, I got the game and I swear, is it me or does this game resemble a blend between Mortal Kombat(the first one) and Clay Fighter.

I cant stand the controls on the game, about the only thing I like about it is the fact that Brolly's on there, and they use a cheap 16 bit version of Faulconer's music in it.

Oh well, atleast I didnt pay for it. ^_^

Oh yeah, Taiketsu is only an American release(it may have a European release, but I doubt it). I dont think it got released in Japan. *shrugs* But we've had it here for about 2 weeks now. I dont recommend buyin it though. If you feel like spendin money on it, then rent it. If you just want to try it out for free...then you know what to do.

THAT'S IT! I Mean I thought they would have made this game better. I know a better program that captures Burori and all the other anime characters. It's called Mugen. A computer program that lets you create any anime character and have them fight to the death.

I was really looking forward to this game on the GBA but after seeing it I'm starting to think I'll stay with Mugen. I am very unhappy with this -_-. *Sigh*

Sorry for my uncandy attitude but I seriously am unhappy with this. I'll try it but I'm sure I'll be disappointed.
Can you download this game?
You can, but posting links to illegal video game ROMs is against the site rules, so don't bother asking where you can get it.

I think the scary thing is that I have absolutely no memory of making this thread. What the hell was I thinking? lol!

In retrospect, I would probably steer clear of any portable DragonBall Z fighting game. The console versions have a limited move set. I can only imagine what the portables play like.
Maybe you repressed the memory? I remember you making it, and it did seem a bit odd to me at the time. Dunno.
Nah, I see. I just noticed it's from 2003. That would explain a lot. Gah, for a second there I thought I was really losing it. I had accidentally looked at my last myOtaku update and thought I posted this thread this past October. I was ready to smack myself for advertising a DragonBall Z game. I think my gaming tastes have progressed a bit since then.

In other news, DragonBall Z: Super Sonic Warriors 2 is out.
