I think it's immature to think it's immature to think it's immature to like something immature.
That sounds pretty immature...

Anyways, I'm inclined to agree with what Blueyoshi said... the gangster thing. What is so cool about getting shot? What makes you think god loves you (in one of 50 cents song... many men or something), when god's trying to put a bullet in your head, sounds like he messed up the job or something.

2.) Religous fanatics. Now I'm not talking about the go to church every/every second sunday casually... I mean the Ned Flanders type. Also the people that try and force you to join there religion by shoving it down your throat. I'll darn well like whatever religion I like without you shoving it in my face as so far up my... I'll stop now...

I'd have to say...

1) Spammers: The ones who are like "Hey, wanna check out my webcam over at (insert link)? Its just me and some friends" They annoy me to hell. *mutters about the crap that AOL never gives out e-mail addresses* and the ones you see on Gamefaqs or even here about some crap on another webpage that doesn't even belong. GET A BRAIN!

2) People who can't spell on the net: I mean, the people who are too lazy and go, "hey pplz, can u check mi spellin? I dunno how to spell pplz so i jst sey pplz." or the ones who like to use 1337 speak too much, that they go in everyday messages, "H3y wh4t u d01n? 1m ju5t t41k1n9 t0 u." Don't you agree that's hard to read and annoying?

Yes, my last never is blown-up with discrimination. *nods, making it final*
I'm talking about those with high-speed internet. If you don't have high-speed internet, you are either really cheap, gay, or stupid. I mean, high-speed is avaliable EVERYWHERE and everyone on this planet is bloody rich. Or so they think.
It pisses me off even more when they say high pingers need to just shut up because they can't get high-speed aswell.
There are quite a few things that tick me off, but then again i am a very easy person to annoy.

Young Children:
Ah, I remember the days when I used to love little kids, how far back they are now. Really, any child younger than 10 annoys the heck outta me. Now, I know it?s not true for all kids but most of them that I know are just....annoying.
The main reason for this is that kids seem to be drawn to be, they come over and start talking to me about un-interpretable kiddie things that I used to think were cute....but now that I am more mature and logical, I consider them a waste of time. But, I still can?t wait to have kids of my own. Hypocritical, yes.

My neighbours:
Oh man, I can?t stand them. All I can say is, thank God for double-glazing. There are different types of neighbours that surround me, all of them are equally annoying.
People across the road: The woman can?t be bothered to walk across the street to talk to her friend SO she leans out of the window, no matter what time of day or night and she shouts across the street. She swears like a sailor and her conversations are less than intelligent.
Children next door: They play out until 11:00pm and scream for no apparent reason, they also don?t appreciate my taste in music and they stare at my hairstyle constantly, which is extremely annoying. Their mother annoys me too because she lets them run around the street whilst they scream their little heads off.

Homophobes: I really can?t stand homophobes. I believe that if you really love someone, it doesn't matter who they are or what they look like. I simply can?t understand why, in a modern society, people can?t handle the fact that people of the same gender are attracted to each other. Some people base it on religion, but if God didn?t want same genders falling in love then he would have made it so they couldn?t. maybe I'm just biased anyway.

Anime bashers:  Yeah *points to smilie* I look like that when someone calls me and my friends sad for watching anime. They don?t even know what it is and yet they still throw insults. People have said to me that I'm like a stupid little kid because I watch cartoons, so then I ask, "Do you watch the Simpsons?? the answer is always 'yes' and my reply is usually.....'baka'.

*coughs* Well, I've said enough. This is a very good thread for people who need to complain, ne? I'll probably post again when I think of some more things.
If that dude put more effort into his rap songs than trying to blow off his bogus gangster traits then maybe, just maybe he'd have a snowball's chance in hell of succeeding as a decent rap artist.
That made me laugh.

I don't think he really needs your approval to "have a snowball's chance in hell of succeeding as a decent rap artist" considering the fact that his LP not only sold 872,000 in it's first week, but went on to be the best selling album of the year with 6.5 million copies sold.

It really can't be argued considering the fact that the royalties he's made from his album sales because of his involvement with the creative process as well as the profit he made from having the most successful music video sales of the year place him far into the double digit millionaire category.

If that's not "successful" to you, then I don't know what is. Having staying power means nothing. It just means your label doesn't want to drop you. 50 Cent has already done for himself what many artists who have been around for years have yet to do.

No, he doesn't have a second album out under "50 Cent" but if you'll take a look at the top spot on The Billboard 200, Lloyd Banks, who is a piece of "G Unit", whose album has appearances by 50 Cent, has held the top spot for the two weeks it's been out. He himself raps, ""If it wasn't for 50, I probably wouldn't be around."

He might be the "hot new thing" but that doesn't make him any less successful. Yes, the person says "as a decent rap artist" which means his success is purely subjective. I don't know what makes a rap artist decent but apparently a lot of people would disagree with that sentiment.

Aside from all of that, he's been around for quite a while. Since 1999 actually with his intended debut "Power of the Dollar." DJs released two best-of compilations before he even signed with a major label. He's not a novelty act in my mind.

Furthermore, the hype surrounding his image and how fake it is annoys me. The guy has sold crack, been shot, stabbed, accused of murder, etc. If there's any "real thug" image out there I think he's entitled to it. People are quick to shun an artist because of fame and that alone, and I feel BlueYoshi's opinion regarding him is purely a transparent reach at nonconformism.

I also feel it's important to note that I'm not a fan of his music.

The key word was "decent".. and well.. that's too subjective a thing to ever achieve anyway (ie- what I say is decent, you might say is a load of crap, and vice versa)

If you ignore that word though, and focus on him succeeding rather than being a "decent rap artist"... you've already made that point pretty well..

Please stay on topic. Remember the topic of the thread is the subject of what gets on your nerves, not a debate about rap music. Thanks!

As for what gets on my nerves....

1.) Spammers, trollers and flammers. I hate people who ruin good message boards just so they can toot their own horn. Sometimes you have people who do this without knowing, but most of the time they are people who know better and just do it because they want to upset people for their own entertainment.

2.) Unreasonable people. When I was working at my first job at a movie theater the power went out on our end of town. Everyone got full refunds and a free pass to see another movie. One guy yelled at the assistant manager (who was 7 months pregnant and a quarter of the size of this guy!) until she cried. He told her it was her fault the power went out and blamed her for the entire situation. That to me is totally unreasonable.

I wasn't adressing the post in which you replied to CHW- if I was then I would have read it :p.

And besides, I see no harm in making the same point as somebody else, as long as that somebody else hasn't been well and truly proven wrong of the point they made.. and as long as I'm not just blatantly copying you..

umm.... it's about time I actually posted something on topic..

Things which people do which get up my nerves

1- Answering my question by questioning my question

Chris, one of my neighbours, is the best example of this. We'll be talking about something and I might say "does it really matter?", and he'll answer with "Does anything really matter?". It throws into question the validity of the question I asked, thus meaning that he doesn't have to answer the question. :twitch:

2- Being purposefully told by someone's body language "I know what I'm doing. I'm great. Trust me"

My housemate Jude is classic at this. He took Psychology at A-Level, so he knows a lot of basic body language, and thus he's taken to using his own to get the message across that he is confident or good at what he does. The problem is, it's not the most subtle thing when he does it, and after living with him for a year and seeing exactly how brilliant he is, the effect has worn off a fair bit and we throw into question every statement where he bigs himself up in some way...

edit: good job I did decide to go for the "on topic" option, otherwise Panda would have probably kicked my arse :p. Didn't see that last post when I started writing this one

And arrogant, annoying, and pretentious people annoy the hell out of me. I don't know what kind of thought processes are running through their head, but it pains me greatly to see someone try to be witty and not possess the skill to make the sarcasm work. I was watching VH1 earlier today, and they had a short segment on some baseball player who said some rather bleh things about NYC back in 1999. People didn't take too kindly to that, and one of the commentators on the show quoted an old saying, "It is better to keep one's mouth shut and leave others in doubt of one's stupidity, than to open one's mouth and confirm it to all."

I think that quote is rather appropriate given some people today.

That was cute and all, but I wasn't really being sarcastic by disagreeing with someone's view of a popular rapper.

I'm sorry that I'm jerking your chain by having thought processes which don't compute for you and other like-minded people. You're not the only one who assumes I'm trying to be witty, and I can't help but joke about it. I'm glad my underlying motives regarding sharing my views on a message board are so clear to you when they don't exist.

I am going to ask just one more time, please stay on topic.

Bean and lava lamp- If you want to continue this debate in emails or PM please feel free to do so. Hijacking a thread to have your off topic debate is not going to be tolerated. If you continue to post off topic further action will be taken against your accounts.

On topic-

3.) People who hijack theads. Another thing that really gets on my nerves are people who hijack threads and use it as their own personal soap box. I have had my threads closed because of people like that and it is annoying for those who actually participated in the topic.

I guess i get annoyed easily

People who take their opinions to be gospel truth really manage to get my goat. It can be anything from a movie to the fact that you aren't too into having this person play Freude (how do you spell that guy's name?) with your personality, but you say one thing about it to defend yourself and they label you an imbecile.

People who take their little kids to a movie and let them run around and don't do anything about it-I paid $8.00 to see a movie that I really wanted to see, I don't want someone's four-year-old running around so I can't concentrate on watching Mean Girls. Is it too much to ask to either find a baby sitter or wait until it comes out on video?

Religious fanatics-get a life please. Extremism in any form is bad. Especially when it involves religion because that can lead to holy wars, and inquisitions and Manifest Destiney.

Right to lifers who go out and shoot doctor's who perform abortions or block an entrance to health clinics.-Not only another form of extremism, but when you kill someone and your policy is anti-abortion you've suddenly hit hypocrisy in my book. Because isn't killing the opposite of pro-life?

Homophobes-In all honesty, if your marriage is so bad that you think that Eva and Tammy or Steven and Nate getting married is going to weaken your bond well, maybe you should go to a marriage counselor instead of trying to convert them back into happy straight people because your marriage isn't their problem, it's yours.

The reverand at Killeen Tabernacle Baptist Church-Oh, this is a good one. After Ft. Hood allowed Sacred Well to have a branch of Wiccans meet at Camp Findlayson which is located at Ft. Hood there's been tons of fun (they've had their alter broken and was told by the MPs it was cows  ) . The best was about five years ago when the good reverand had a guy packing a gun at services incase a warlock (which is actually an old scottish word for Oath breaker and not a term for a male witch) came in and tried to steal some children. That guy is a loon. I wonder what he's up to now.

The MPs who explained the broken alter to be caused by cows: Yeah, that's right, tap dancing cows! Okay say it with me W-I-M-P can't spell wimp without MP! It's a signal cadence.

People who don't like anything to be different-That's why we have libraries, to learn about differences.

I'm getting a cramp in my left hand so I have to stop now.

Oooooo..... too many things..

Noisy eaters, or people with terrible table manners: My parents used to say I had terrible eating habits, so now it really gets on my nerves when;
People eat loudly, and you can hear the food slopping around in their mouth
People burp at the table, or cough directly at someone else's food by accident
And so on...

Bad drivers: Basically just whenever somebody I don't know in a car I've never seen before does something completely idiotic that put's others at risk, or is just particularly annoying.

Arrogant people: Possibly the most annoying type of person in the world. Includes;
People who demand respect but refuse to give it.
'Perfect' people.
Most celebrities.

Nosy people: Anyone who interferes with anyone else's personal business and life. I think the media is particularly bad for this, prying into every aspect of celebrity's personal lives, making their life hell. Small things, I'm not so bothered about, though it can still be annoying.

Nose blowing: It's disgusting!! I prefer it when people just sniff.

Bad parents: Those occassional gems that you find on the bus or in the supermarket. Those people who think the only way to control a child is by shouting in their ear and threatening to slap them.

People who refuse to shut up when you're trying to watch something: My mum is terrible for this. It can get really annoying, especially when she starts trying to work out the meaning of the film, in a religious context, half way through.

People who refuse to shut up in general: Those times when someone just goes on and on about something over and over again, regardless of how many times you try to change the subject or tell them to give it a rest.

People who lack any diplomatic skills: People who think that their rights are the most important, and who think the way to resolve all arguments involves excessive use of one's vocal cords and fists. People who are quite happy to do something but hate it when someone else does it.

People who complain too much: Self explanatory. And yes, I do annoy myself.

Woooo....... I think I'll shut up now. For my own safety....

I hate people who:

Stereotype other people: People who 'label' people and have all the wrong ideas about someone based on how they look.

And even though we're all guilty of it, I realy hate:
Hypocrites: People who say one thing but do the opposite. These people want to control your life while they live theirs the way they want to...
Grrrrr.... :flaming:

Now, see, this pisses me off slightly. Not that you are a bad person, and I don't want to make it seem like I don't like you, but people like you piss me off. You pass all rap off as "bunch of bass and someone yelling about how they did such and such to such and such and shot them up a lot. Then went and slept with that person's girl" when you most likely have never listened to any real, underground, or even mainstream rap that deals with real things. Deals with the problems with society, today. Just like any other music.

I can say that rock is a bunch of guys rolling around with guitars screaming and talking about how their girlfriend dumped them. (stereotypical pop punk rock)
Or how real punk is about killing everyone and overdosing on heroin. (stereotypical punk)
Or I can say electronic music is just a hard beat with a little bit of melody.

Like, you can generalise any kind of music. But I think it would be best not to, even if the majority of mainstream is all about bling bling, and ****. Not that I am a hardcore hip hop fan. I used to hate all hip hop. Only listened what I wanted to. But I opened my eyes a bit, and noticed that it's not all what it seems.

Yeah, I needed to get that off my chest.

I recently saw The Bourne Supremacy in theatres, opening night. Melissa and I got there just as the commercials ended, so we had more than enough time to find our seats and get settled before the film started. Now, I've mentioned this in my Bourne Trilogy thread, but with something like the Bourne series, you absolutely must be there on time, in order to have any hope at all of being able to understand what's happening.

Throughout the first 30 minutes, at least 6 people came in, and sat down. If this wasn't bad enough, an hour (yes, an hour) into the film, a few more people straggle in. It gets far, far worse, lol. In the front of the theatre, a baby starts to whimper, and cell phones ring at rare intervals, but still ring.

Now, I have a lot of respect for the Bourne films, and feel that the series is what the modern-day James Bond movies should have been, so it's incredibly annoying that these moviegoers couldn't just catch a later show, instead of coming in an entire hour late, or bringing a 9-month-old to an action/adventure/spy thriller, which has car chases, crashes, gunfights, martial arts, etc.

When I saw Kill Bill Volume 1 last Fall, there was this couple who walked in approximately an hour into the film, sat right down next to me, on my left, and for the next 30 minutes, were talking, criticizing the film because they had no idea what was going on. My brother and my cousin are sitting to the right of me, able to hear these ignorant fools, and barely unable to suppress a snicker. After the 30 minutes, this couple leaves.

If there is one thing I absolutely cannot stand, loathe to the fullest extent that one can loathe, it is ignorant moviegoers.
