Zeta
Attached is a banner I made, and am quite proud of actually. But I want to do some more with it, but don't know how. The picture of Shinji is my main concern right now. I want to get the picture to like....blend into the background if you will. Sort of like the OB banner with the anime person. Instead of it being the normal colour of the picture, I want it to be kind of like the colour of the background. Anyone understand what I mean? Until then, just tell me what you think. It is one of my better banners, with a lot more time put into it than just slapping some pictures onto a regular coloured background. Comments and help appreciated. :-)
I know a way to do this but it uses photoshop. Also there is probably an easier way of doing but tthis is just the way that I know. First select the layer with Shinji in it and make sure there's nothing else in that layer. Then go to Image>Adjustments>Desaturate. This should turn the layer gray. Next go to Image>Adjustments>Variations and a box will pop up. In here you can choose the new color for the layer. You might need to play around for a while to get the right color but this should work. Like I said there's probably an easier way of doing it but this is the best way I can think of. DragonBlood
Well, I don't know much about making Banners, accually I know nothing about making banners, But I do draw freehand and know what looks good. Personaly I think it looks good like that, I don't think it would look as cool if he were blended like the OB banner girl. It looks like it could uses somthing, but at the moment I don't know what that would be. That is just my personal opinion.
Vash IDK
Alright, again, this technique also uses Photoshop. Attached is an example of what I think you mean by blending into a background. Hope this helps! :)
PiroMunkie
It helps if you tell us what program you use, heh. Judging by what seems to be chrome in the background and a radical application of a wave filter, I am going to assume you are using Photoshop. Probably the easiest way to make your banner monochrome is put a layer over everything, fill it with what color you want your banner to be, and then set the layer mode to "Color." Any image you do not want that color you can just place above that layer. Pretty simply really, heh, assuming you are using Photoshop.
Zeta
Eeekk. Sorry. Yeah, I am using Photoshop. Here is another banner I made. Basically the same way that I did the other one, just with different pictures and a different background. I kind of like this one, if only because the quote goes with the pictures, in my mind at least.
Vash IDK
Wow! That's really good! i especially like the background. Great choice of colors. They go perfectly with the rest of the pic. You're pretty good at this :)
