Some of you may know, Jonny Depp lost his virginity at the young age of 13.

My veiws on this are very disturbed, how can a thirteen-year-old boy get a girl to, well, you know have sex with him? Now, all I ever heard about it was that he lost it at a young age, for all I know, he could have been raped.

I was just wondering what others had on this subject, if you don't think it's that bad, and why, if you know what happened, or, even rumors you've heard. Feel free to tell.

EDIT: And yes, I know, I spelled his last name wrong in the title, please forgive me, it was a simple mistake.

Hmmm... I'm not quite sure if this thread is in the right forum. This could be more appropriate in the Otaku Lounge. Anways...

I don't find the news of 'a boy losing his virginity at 13' shocking but I'm slightly apalled because I love Johnny Depp. Heh. Sadly, reality is there are many cases like this one. Look around the net for teenage health sites and you can see actual 13 year olds asking questions about sex and admittingly say they've done it. It's been an old case really and the issue is about as big as any sex-related issue. I blame a lot of external forces for it.

One would obviously be the media. Talk about cable and reality dating or matchmaking shows. In our country, jokes and laughable conversations with sex as the main topic are widely used for entertainment. It is becoming impossible to make people laugh without the subject of sex. That is why I constantly have to explain sex jokes to my younger sister when she started asking at age 7.

I personally could blame school for not teaching sex education in the early stages of school life. I find it useful so growing adolescents won't be overly curious about sex to actually involve themselves in one. Young people search all over the place looking for the right information they needed to learn about sex. Thankfully or unfortunately, they learn to use the net.

The internet is another factor... people often stumble on information that is either correct or wrong. And where does it lead them?

Ok... I'm running out of time here. Explain more later. Ja!

That was rather a long time ago. I don't think it makes him any less of a person (not that I know what he's personally like anyway), and I wouldn't think of him as being a worse actor as a result- it just means he had rather precocious teenage years. But a lot of people do.

This kind of thing's happening a lot more now. Sexual experimentation in itself isn't so bad; it's when it comes before education on the subject, and if the person isn't ready for it.

The thing is when boys start going through puberty, sexual urges start pumping through the body like nobody's business. I should know, I've been through that (not that it got me anywhere, though). Not to mention, as hEvN's already stated, the effects of media, social pressure and everything else can add an odd skew to thing.

I think 13 is too early an age to have sex, but certainly not too early to be educated about sex. It's a relatively dangerous thing to do at the best of times, thinking of everything that can happen to you. But when you're that age, the promise of sexual experimentation is often more overpowering than common sense, because you've not yet learnt how to deal with it.

P. Diddy lost his virginity at age 12...so have thousands of other kids around the world. All I know is that I am agaisnt this sort of thing, but it's not like Johnny Depp is alone in this sort of thing, people only care because he's a giant celebrity now.

I'm not really surprised that there are many people who are losing their virginity at young ages now...I'd be shocked if I was surprised at this sort of thing. Sex is such a free and huge topic in the world. I mean. I'm seriously not shocked in the least.
