Syk3
Okay, before I say anything else, I'm going to tell you right now that this was probably one of the, if not the funniest movie that I've ever seen in my life. :o The only reason why I can come to that conclusion is because I was literally laughing throughout the entire film, and for the rest of the night, all I could say was, "damn, that was an awesome movie." It certainly brightened my day after seeing The Bourne Sepremecy, personally. If you have somehow missed the previews for this movie (and I've already talked to many who have, so I guess it's not surprising, even though I've been seeing them everywhere) the overall story is pretty straightforward. It's about these guys named Harold and Kumar who decide to go to White Castle. O.o Without giving too much away, this sudden burst of hunger comes after the two roomates get really, really high. Of course, the obvious choice is to then get in a car and go driving! :D So on their journey they run into a number of obstacles, such as
running out of pot, getting a flat tire, getting arrested, not finding White Castle where they expected to, getting lost, getting picked on by these insane white guys, getting bitten by a racoon, having their car stolen, having their money stolen, and more
, not neccesarily in that order. It's really a great movie, and goes deeper than the surface jokes by examining racial discrimination in today's society. Obviously the movie isn't for everyone, as there are a lot of drug refferences (though I believe it's just pot, but it's reinforced throughout the whole movie), and there is brief nudity at some points. But even so, unless you are strictly against the two, I recommend the movie to everyone, especially those looking for a great laugh.
Semjaza
I've been looking forward to this for a few months now. I missed the sneak preview, but I plan on seeing it when it's fully released. I still want to see Napoleon Dynamite too. Good year for stupid comedies heh.
BlueYoshi
I've been waiting for a decent comedy since Meet the Parents. I haven't heard much about Harold and Kumar but if it's as good as you say it is then I might look it up. It's true that comedies these days are becoming more stupid than funny, or at least not laughable, and that's why I'd prefer an old British sitcom any day compared to the likes of Along Came Polly. But still, it's good to see that the genre hasn't been neglected.

A movie that has to rely on two overly long toilet humor scenes knows it has a problem.
BlueYoshi
Yes, and the fact that Jennifer Aniston was acting in it doesn't make me feel any better about it. She's such a crap actress.
natetron46
shes ok, along came polly was decent. stiller was funny at times, but it was more of a romantic movie than a comedy one, i wasnt expecting it to be funny at all, so i was a little bit suprised. Brasil
Unrelated, but why were you left with a bad taste in your mouth, or left in a bad mood after Bourne Supremacy, Syk? I saw a preview for Harold and Kumar a few months ago, and my reaction was..."WTF," and now that I've seen the longer preview, my reaction is still a variation on "WTF." I'm intrigued by the title itself; it's just so unconventional and...simple, in a sense. It doesn't pretent to be something it isn't, the title doesn't give off some "Greatest Movie Ever Made" vibe, and the logo for the movie itself is pretty catchy. :) After seeing the longer preview, I'm definitely interested in seeing this movie. The comedy looks utterly random, and based on Syk's review, it sounds like a really fun time. I just hope it's stronger than Dude, Where's My Car. I chuckled a few times during Dude, but other than that, I couldn't believe I was sitting there watching it, heh.
terra
When I first heard the name of the movie, I was like, "Oh, this is going to suck so bad," but after watching the previews, I'm so psyched to see this movie it's not even funny. I'm sad I missed the sneak preview, but I really hope to watch it this week ... which also may not pan out. But I'm really excited. What did it for me (in the preview) was when they're like "Featuring that Asian guy from American Pie ... and that Indian guy from Van Wilder." I also loved Van Wilder so I have high hopes :P (literally? ahaha.)
Dagger
Haha, I'm so excited about watching this movie. I'm not normally a fan of the genre, but Harold and Kumar has gotten very positive reviews, and the trailers I've seen are just hysterical. It's also nice that the main characters aren't your conventional white kids. ~Dagger~
