RPG Sandman: Chronicle One [Warning: Possible mature content]

[COLOR=SlateGray]Imric stayed in the background and watched as the others had their respective conversations. He sighed and ran his fingers through his well kept, blue hair. The cross around his neck chimed as he moved and looked at it with the same awe he always did. It was a family heirloom, a work of art. A silver cross hung on a delicate chain with three jewels set in place down its long section. The top jewel a sapphire, middle garnet and last amethyst. Garnet was Imric's birthstone so it was only right that the cross had been handed down to him even though there were other priests in the family.

He sighed as he thought of his late mother and the father that he never knew well enough to hold close, or maybe he did, after all, he wouldn?t be thinking of him now if he didn?t.
He unintentionally sent a wave of sorrow through the group, those who were gifted with the power of empathy felt it and some shuddered. Velvet whimpered and looked to Imric with a pained expression.

"I apologise...." Imric trailed off and tried to mask his feelings from his hurting heart, he still needed to practice with his power.

He looked to the latest addition to the group, a young man who looked nervous from the gazes he was getting from the others. Imric shrugged and stood next to him, making friends wasn?t his first priority but this one seemed different, he?d stick by him for now.[/COLOR]

[color=Slategray][size=2][font=veranda]Velvet smiled at the memories. ?Yes. Its been to long.? She leaned over and hugged him, her violet eyes misty. He hugged her back, and then they parted. Velvet coughed, and the others looked up.

?Everyone, I?d like you to meet Shinyo.? Everyone nodded, and Velvet explained the situation. Her life-long friend sat in silence for a bit, his green eyes thoughtful. Then he said, ?I see. Well,? he stood.

Velvet got everyone?s attention again. They all looked a Shinyo, who said, ?Velvet and I have a plan. We will explain it to you, and then you can say whether or not your with us.? Velvet looked levelly at each person: Shaun, Spence, Brittany, Candy, Imric, Cedric, and the other man, Leon.

?We will not force any off you to come with us; it is not your problem. Our plan is this: each of us can track Sandman in a different way. We need everyone?s help. Even though, out of the nine of us, we only have empathy, telepathy, and telekinesis, each of ours are different. We need to find where Sandman went.? There were nods around the group. Velvet continued. ?Shinyo and I suspect he may have gone to another plane. After all, someone of legend isn?t going to live in the suburbs.?

Another round of agreement. Velvet breathed in, and exchanged looks with her friend. ?Guys, some of us may not come back. Sandman is dangerous. But its something we need to do. I know its dangerous ? I may die. But, if it means getting David back, I?ll do it. We don?t know what?s going to happen ? lets track Sandman first.?

She blinked, and Shinyo held her around the waist comfortingly. ?Who?s with us all the way??[/color][/font][/size]

[COLOR=RoyalBlue][SIZE=1]Spence raised his hand, straining to figure out how to slow the particals. It snapped, the linking of his mind and the outside world, they conjoined, and he was able to figure out how to make coldness, and even ice with water. He traced the air with a finger, water leaping out of cracks in the motar of the buildings, eveywhere. He stopped, and froze the water, it said in icy letters,

[i]I'm with you all the way, Velvet.[/i] He stopped consentrating on the ice, and it crashed to the floor. He looked Velvet deep in the eyes, and told her in an equally icy voice,

[b]"I've got nothing in this world but my power, and my brains. I'm going to help anyone I can to have a better life, to have a life."[/b][/COLOR][/SIZE]

Shaun, who was at the side of the building, hovered around to see the group still there, "Ignore me why don't you" he said. Velvet walked up to him "You in ?"

"Yeh i am, can't wait to rip that guy's head off, but its gonna be hard, it'll take all of us using our powers to the fullest to take him on"

They all nodded in agreement, "So where are going to head to first, ofcourse we could just follow the path of magic"

"Of course I'm in...I don?t have much to live for anyway."
Another wave of sorrow passed over the group.

"You need to learn how to control your powers." Velvet said rubbing her chest above her heart.
Imric nodded, "I'm very sorry." he muttered. He took his cross in hand again and looked at it longingly, the others ignored him.
He looked at his gloved hand, he knew he had a power laying inside of him but he didn?t know how to use it.

"Miss Velvet?"
"Yes?"
"Can you....do me a favour?"
"Sure thing."
Imric pulled the girl to one side and bent his head to he could whisper to her,
"I need you to teach me how to use my powers...I...don?t know how to..." he blushed and waited for her response[/COLOR]

IC? Velvet looked shocked. ?You don?t know how?? Imric nodded pitifully. Velvet sighed. ?Alright. But wait a minute.?

She turned back. ?So, I have Shinyo, Imric, Spence, and Shaun. I?m pretty sure Brittany-? The blonde teen nodded. ?- and Candy are coming.? There was another affirmative. Velvet turned to Leon and Cedric. ?Only you two are left. You ? ?She looked at Leon, who looked nervous. ?I didn?t even get your name.? ?Leon ? and I?m coming.?

SO Velvet turned to the detective. She touched his mind with hers, and said, ?Are you in?? He looked cold faced, and slightly disgusted. ?I will wait for your answer. Meantime: everyone go home, or wherever you live, and get what you need; food, whatever. I don?t care.?

The group scattered, except Shinyo, who was already carrying his possessions, and Cedric, who wandered far enough away to think. Velvet turned back to Imric. ?Shinyo, you stay to keep an eye on Cedric. Imric, come with me.?

She turned, and the man followed her. When they were out of earshot, and ut of sight, Velvet turned, and said,? Alright, heres what you do. I?ll teach you shielding, first.? She sat on a trashcan lid on the ground, and Imric found another one.

?Close your eyes, and relax. When you get the hang of this, you will do it without thinking. Send mental and emotional roots out through your feet, into the earth, and ground yourself. Make yourself stable.? She gently stepped into his mind, and in his mind he felt like her had someone standing next to him, walking his hands through it.

?Now, grab your center ? no, Imric, don?t flail wildly. Watch.? With her inner eye, she showed him how to find his center. ?Settle into it. Find that calm spot in you, and sit.? She saw him do so, but it was clumsy, and they had ot start over. They did this process multiple times, and then she taught him shielding.

? ?See? that small trickle of energy? That?s a very small ley-line. There are larger ones, but we?ll use the small ones first. Sometimes a little can be more useful than a lot.? Imric nodded, and reached out to link to the energy stream. ?Before I tell you how, follow the energy line, see how it broadens? Now see that large ball? That?s a node. Those are powerful, and I don?t mess with those unless in a really bad situation.?

?Go back to the little trickle ? there you go. Now; bring a dome of secure energy up around you. Very good for a first time! Now, unground.? Imric sat stunned. ?Unground? How?? Velvet showed him. She was grounded and centered, and her shields went up. SO she ungrounded, and the shield shimmered, then settled around her again. ?Do that. I had my shields grounded when I encountered my first node ? they shattered. With tehm like this, it will do this.?

The teen sent an emotional blast at him, but instead of connecting, the shield sort of rolled, pushed out of the way. ?Now: practice.?[/color][/font][/size]

[COLOR=SlateGray]Imric sighed and concentrated hard. Velvet had agreed to watch him as he practiced. He felt his body tingle as he connected with himself, all his emotions seemed to run riot and he was finding it hard to concentrate. He felt Velvet enter his mind, she was warm when she spoke,
"Okay, you're doing fine but try to stay in control."

Imric nodded, a bead of sweat ran down his forehead as he felt a surge of power run through him.
'Find that trickle' he thought to himself, and then he felt it. he created a shield and he felt lighter somehow. he heard Velvet clapping as he smiled and relaxed.

"I think....I need to rest for a while." he said breathlessly, "You have helped a lot...I should be able to teach myself enough by tomorrow." he bowed low to Velvet and she laughed,
"No need to be so formal, Imric, it was a pleasure."
"Thank you Miss Velvet, goodnight, I'm sure your friend will help you home." with that he waved slightly and walked off towards where he was staying, he kept running over all the things that Velvet had said to him as he walked, tonight was going to be tough if he hoped to teach himself any attacks by the morning.[/COLOR]

[size=2][color=gray][b]Meanwhile, Shinyo was tailing Cedric, mostly keeping to rooftops and shadows. He kept Cedric just barely in sight, and tried not to use his powers so Cedirc wouldn't notice him.[/color][/size][/b]

[b][size=2][color=gray]Cedric went to an apartment, really old and kind of shoddy. Not great, but liveable. [/color][/size][/b]

[b][size=2][color=#808080]He went in, and Shinyo, about 3 or 4 blocks away took out a sniper guns scope.[/color][/size][/b]

[b][size=2][color=black]Ooc:Not the actual gun, just the scope.[/color][/size][/b]

[b][size=2][color=#808080]He looked through his window, and saw him sit on a couch. Looking like he was thinking things over. Not suprising really, but he put his hat over his eyes and looked like he was trying to sleep. [/color][/size][/b]

[b][size=2][color=#808080]Shinyo waited a few minutes just to be sure, Cedric didn't move a muscle, except to scratch. Shinyo left, and started to head back to Velvet.[/color][/size][/b]

IC: Velvet smiled as Imric left. Shinyo landed next to her, and she started. [I]Oh![/I] ?You scared me.? They walked back towards Velvet?s house in silence. Shinyo smiled when they were at the door.

?I?ll come by tomorrow morning, alright?? Velvet nodded, and kissed his cheek before disappearing inside the house.

She sat up a long time, just contemplating ? the return of her friend, the arrival of Sandman, the training with Imric. And Summer was coming home tomorrow.[/color][/font][/size]

OOC:Sorry I haven't posted much but I have had a fever for two days. So my fience has banned me from the computer. <((_<)>"

IC: Candy walked to her small apartment, two blocks away from the group she met the strangers. She alway thought that Sandman was a myth and was only told to scare little children into behaving. She sighed and flopped down on her coach removing her shoes. Placing her feet up on the coffee table she thought about all that had happened today.

"Well I guess I should get some stuff and than hit the sack."

[COLOR=RoyalBlue][SIZE=1]Spence ran off in a secret ally he found, and decided to sharpen up on his skills. He'd learned heat and cold, but eletricty? How... Spence pushed that out of his mind and decided to try something he wanted to do for a very long time, make a golem out of fire or ice. He consentrated on the air, speeding the paritcals up, until fire once again cracked into exstance. He shaped a man sized figure, and it held for about a mintue, before fading into a small fire again, which he put out. Next would be ice, which would be easier, but he needed water. He then sensed a large lay line about 20 feet from his little home in the ally, and he decided to investigate. Enormus power flowed,and he reached out, trying to grasp it with Telekinekis. He then decided that if he couldn't find water, he'd make it. Reaching out, he called many hydrogen and oxygen parts together, and collected a small stream of water, not that big, but big enough. He still couldn't get hardly any power from the lay line, which was odd, but he ceased and consentrated on the ice.

The water sprang into the air, guided by his hands. He guided it all inito a man shaped figure again, and then froze the water. It stood there, frozen in animantion. He experamently lifed it's leg with his mind, and it shuffled forward. But it soon grew stiff, not able to move even when he tried with all of his power. He let it shatter, and collected his stuff from his makeshift home.[/COLOR][/SIZE]

Shaun threw up a trash can up into the air, and flattened it with his mind. He jamp onto it a float of the world he went to another small ally. Jumping off the flattened can, he remakes it with his mind, and throws it against the wall.

Shaun see's a small puddle infront of him where he walks up to it, "Ok, lets see what i'll do with this......." he said aloud, then he notices his shadow. "Ahhh my shadow, how's this for a party-trick.

His shadow, leaped off the bottom of Shaun's shoes, and slipped into the shadows of the wall, he sent it to go and see what the others were doing as he practised a bit.

OOC: Ok am sorry but am goin to be leaving for a week, from Monday 2nd, till Friday the 6th. So please keep my character alive.

When she had told them that she had been leaving, they said their goodbyes, and gave her more than she needed for her journey. She took only about half about it, and thanked them. But not wanting to intrude, she had refused their offer to let her stay for the night. She leaned against a wall, and thought about all that had happened today.[/color][/size][/font]

She knew that she had just met this Velvet, and that she didn't even know David, but helping people was what she did. Just out of curiousity, she scanned the dreams of the people who were sleeping. They were mostly unsettled, so she used her powers of...empathy - that's what that girl had called it, wasn't it? - to calm their dreams. Then, Brittney got up from her leaning position and started walking. She decided to try to find Velvet, and have her explain about this, "David" person. As she walked, she started calling out to the girl, mentally.[/color][/size][/font]

[color=Slategray][size=2][font=veranda]Velvet snapped out of her reverie as she heard a mental voice.

Yes?[/I] There was a shocked silence for a minute, then another sentence. [I]Where are you?

She looked out her window at Shinyo, who was sleeping. [I]Shinyo! We have a visitor![/I]

Brittany turned the corner not much later. Velvet waved. Brittany signaled for her to come down, and Velvet was at the door. ?Come in!? She said. Brittany stepped inside the house hesitantly, after taking off muddy shoes on the porch. The carpet was extremely soft, and the house smelled of baking bread and pasta. Velvet smiled.

Brittany sniffed the air, and sighed. ?Wow, it smells so nice in here.? Velvet?s aunt, Lisa DeVito, poked her head out of the kitchen. ?Oh! Hello! Are you one of Velvet?s friends?? Brittany nodded. ?I?m Brittany, nice to meet you.? Lisa smiled. ?I?m Lisa, her aunt. You girls go to her room, and I?ll bring you something to snack on.?

Velvet led the way, and the entered Velvet?s plush, black room. Everything about her room was black; her bed, her curtains, her lamps, her carpet, even her desk and computer was black. Brittany looked around. ?Wow.? Velvet sat on the bed, and patted next to her.

Brittany also sat down, and not long after, Lisa was up with fresh buttered bread and chocolate milk. When she left, the two sat in silence, eating. ?So, what was it you wanted to talk about??

?Who?s David?? Velvet set her stuff down, and looked at the ceiling. ?David? he was herwe before we moved in, and has been like an older brother to me. He?s slightly rebellious. But he?s sweet, and acts as if he was my older brother. Unlike Jacob. That?s my cousin. He?s adopted.? She shuddered.[/color][/font][/size]

[font=Book Antiqua][size=2][color=plum]Brittney then followed Velvet out of the room as she went to go tell her aunt that they had a new guest.[/color][/size][/font]

[color=Slategray][size=2][font=veranda]After telling Lisa, Velvet showed Brittany to her room. It was linked to Velvets room by the master bathroom, and was a dark velvety purple. ?This was my room to begin with? but I liked the other one.?

Brittany ran her hand across the soft comforter on the bed. ?Wow? this is so nice, Velvet.? She turned and hugged her. Velvet didn?t even think about it ? she put her arms around the girl in return, and something in her stomach fluttered. She quickly released Brittany, and her shields were up in seconds.

Still, she had no doubt Brittany had felt it. She said, ?Well, Lisa will have dinner ready soon, so I?m taking a shower. You can find towels and things in the large white cabinet in the bathroom.? She disappeared into her room, leaving Brittany in the guestroom.

Velvet closed her door, and slid down the wall. [I]Oh, hell, why did I do that? Summer won?t mind if I do? but Kassie? but Kassie?s gone?[/I] She shut the thoughts out, and grabbed her things to go take a shower.[/color][/font][/size]

[font=Book Antiqua][size=2][color=plum]After Velvet left, Brittney undressed. Bathing was a luxury for her and she decided to take advantage of her chance. She never got too filthy, though, because she always asked the people that she helped if they could let them use her bathroom to clean up. Brittney stepped into the shower and turned it on, but nothing happened. She tried it again, but still no water came out. She grabbed her towel and her clothes, and walked back into Velvet's room to look for her. She wasn't there, but she finally found her just as she was about to take a shower herself.[/color][/size][/font]

IC: Velvet jumped, and relaxed when she saw Brittany. She averted her eyes. ?You can use it now. I?ve been trying to get Jacob to fix the darn things for weeks.? She left the room, and heard the shower start. She still had her shields up, and her mind flashed her an image ? one that made her blush insanely.

Velvet went to the other shower in the large bathroom, and turned on the faucet. She heard the water, and sighed. [I]Brittany? It does work. You just have to tap the faucet. I don?t know why my dad installed that feature.

Oh? huh.[/I] Velvet felt the water as it rushed over her body, and she close the sliding glass door. The water soon fogged up all five mirrors in the bathroom, and the teens were soon clean. When Velvet got out, Brittany was out, and drying her hair. The pre-teen quickly wrapped a towel around her, her hair hanging heavy and wet against her back. She sat down at the long counter, and started brushing out the moisture.

Glancing over at Brittany, she saw a beautiful girl. Under the tightly wrapped towel was a form that a super model would have given to have. Her shoulders were tanned and strong, and her legs were long and the muscles were smooth and tight? Velvet snapped abck to reality, and kept brushing her hair.

Brittney's hair was a lot shorter than Velvet's, but she brushed it as well. Then, she took off her towel and decided to get dressed. She looked around for her clothes, but they were nowhere to be found. Velvet's aunt's voice explained this little mystery.[/color][/size][/font]

She braided her hair quickly, and went into her room. She grabbed a large T-shirt, and came back. ?Here. Unless you would prefer??? She still had her eyes averted. Now Velvet wore a large T-shirt, and socks.

Brittany hesitated. Then she took the T-shirt, and slipped it over her head. It dropped down, and hung at mid-thigh. Brittany turned, and looked at herself in the long mirror. ?Hmm.. comfy.?

IC: [spoiler]Before Velvet could think about it, she had her arms around Brittany?s bare waist as they hugged, and pulled her into her lap. Brittany seemed slightly shocked, but said nothing. They were about even height, so their heads were almost level.

Velvet looked into her eyes, and kissed her. Her hand traced the lower part of Brittany?s bare back. They parted from the kiss.[/spoiler]

Velvet let Brittany go, eyes wide. ?Oh my god? I?m so sorry?? But Brittany took her hand, and stood up. She pulled her up, Velvet still shocked.

[spoiler]Brittany, this time, kissed Velvet, leaning against the counter. Velvet?s towel came undone, and fell to the floor, leaving them both naked. It was still warm in the bathroom as they kissed. Getting over her shock, Velvet wrapped her arms back around Brittany?s waist.[/spoiler]
