Two of the world's most influential manga heavyweights-the publishing giant TOKYOPOP and the world-famous creative team of CLAMP-are releasing the definitive collection for fans of all graphic novels. Celebrating CLAMP's 15-year anniversary as an artistic force, TOKYOPOP will publish CLAMP No Kiseki: The Ultimate Collection, a stunning omnibus that highlights dazzling works from the all-female manga-ka team. The limited, bimonthly anthology will be available beginning spring 2005, and will span 12 installments over two years.

The gorgeous, 32-page publication will feature CLAMP's most celebrated artwork and will also include never-before-seen interviews and other exclusive material. Each volume will be packaged with three collectible chess pieces depicting CLAMP's most famous characters appearing in that particular volume. Once all 12 issues are collected, fans will have a complete chess set-CLAMP style!

"CLAMP is the most-loved manga studio in the world, and we're thrilled to be able to team up with them to celebrate their anniversary," said TOKYOPOP editor Jake Forbes. "It may be CLAMP's party, but it's the fans that are getting all the gifts in this one-of-a-kind event!"

Each issue of CLAMP No Kiseki: The Ultimate Collection will showcase the popular titles that manga fans all over the world have come to cherish from CLAMP's unmatched repertoire of work. Volume One will feature Cardcaptor Sakura, one of the most treasured of CLAMP's classics. Following issues will highlight such titles as Tsubasa, xxxHolic, Clover, Magic Knight Rayearth, Angelic Layer, and of course Chobits, their signature title that rocketed CLAMP into mainstream popularity.

Only 10,000 copies of each installment will be available nationwide. The highly collectible nature of CLAMP No Kiseki: The Ultimate Collection ensures that these books will sell out and become unavailable, so fans are encouraged to get them quickly!

The CLAMP Northside and Southside art books constitute a stunning exhibition from best-selling manga collective in history.

These sumptuous collector's editions feature resplendent full-color art on glossy paper with stylish matte covers. The books also include original artwork not featured in other CLAMP titles, original comics featuring the CLAMP artists, how-to-draw-manga tips, and exclusive interviews with the CLAMP team.

In order to render these exquisite books properly, the TOKYOPOP editions of Northside and Southside will be printed in Japan with special color inks not available in the United States.

Basically I'm jumping up and down, waiting to get these things. The Clamp Northside and Southside things are selling for $19.99 [but it says $29.99 on the tokyopop website...? Maybe it's because that's preorder.] which is an awesome price, I think. Even $29.99 is ok, considering that this is Tokyopop. Northside has
Clover, Magic Knight Rayearth, Legend of Chun Hyang, CLAMP in Wonderland, and others, while Southside has Clamp School Defenders, Clamp School Detectives, Suki, Wish, CLAMP School Paranormal Investigators, Miyuki-chan in Wonderland, The One I Love, Shirahime-Syo, Legal Drug, and a How-to-Draw-Manga section.

I'm not exactly a huge fan of past CLAMP art styles, but this kind of thing is worth my money. :3

I'm more excited over the Clamp no Kiseki: The Ultimate Collection. I don't know if the Tokyopop release of this in Waldenbooks also include the little chess peices [more like figurines, if you ask me], but I'm fine either way. It just sucks that we have to wait one year for it to start coming out, and then two more years just to finish the collection. =_=
