I think this is one of the best contreversial bands around. It's a great mix of rock and industrial music.
The two main singers of TaTu claim to be Lesbian partners and are fairly cute as well.
On their Cd titled: "Going 101 Miles in the wrong Direction" they have a song titles something in German.
It repeats the word "Munchigay" over and over. At first you wonder what their talking about but it sounds to me like something about a Gay Mall Chick. I haen't researched into it.
Anyway. Even if they are lesbians I think their great and I can't wait for their next CD.

One of them got married to a guy. I think that pretty much proves that one of them isn't a complete straight up lesbian. Also I don't like there music either.

I hate'em. I feel sometimes like they have no soul. Scratch that...I always feel that they have no soul. Or atleast there music has none. It feels as though they put no effort into their music. You get me right? All there songs are basically the same thing, and usually catchy. Anywho, I can see why people like them. It is because they are two hot lesbians, and in "all the things she said" or whatever (it was a smash) they're kissing, while in schoolgirl uniforms, in the rain. They use sex as a marketing plot.

Their music sucks (in my personal opinion), their schtick was tired before they even came into existanceand they're hardly attractive enough to justify all the nonsense. Wow, lesbians!? I've never heard of those before. Who cares, especially when one definitely isn't (she is also pregnant with that guy's baby last I heard, by the way).

There's more controversial bands around that actually deserve the attention. When I can watch sitcoms that show men and women making out with their same sex, why would I care what these two do? It's hardly controversial.

I don't really like TATU that much, although i did download some of there music a long time ago. I first saw them on Mad TV and though they were very hot, so i downloaded there music, i don't listen to them anymore.

I first heard their music about two and a half years ago, I think, and even then I thought it was a load of shite, the music was just generic and their only real selling point was that they were Russian lesbians or at least they claimed to be lesbians.

A real one hit wonder, it was an interesting marketing strategy for whoever came up with it but they lacked the talent to keep them big, I'm not even the slightest bit sorry to see them gone. I remember they claimed that they were going to go on the European Song Contest naked and if they won they were going to get married, in the end it turned out to be all ******** and they went back into the obscurity they started out from.[/SIZE]

They are NOT hot at all. Two average-looking lesbians - that was the marketing ploy. Somehow - it flew... about a foot off the ground.

Everyday I wake up hoping that the general public has a better grasp of utter and complete media/commercial manipulation than they actually do.

And their music, since I want to re-iterate what has already been eloquently mentioned - SUCKS.

As has been said TaTu were just an exercise in marketting. 'Let's market them as lesbians! We're sure to make some dough!' Of course... it worked for a while... but the fact that they are pretty much dead now are testament to human intelligence, heh.

How you can get industrial/rock out of their music is a mystery though... it always reminded [b]me[/b] of prefabricated pop rubbish.There music never really entertained me at all, and never did it reminded me in any way of industrial, rock or a mixture of the two.

I thought the two singles released from their album were catchy, but not the kind of catchy that makes me buy an album.

One of the girls has been quoted exploiting the marketing strategy as well as admitting to her general distaste for her partner and the act which made the two of them "popular". Truly one-hit-wonders in every sense of the phrase as far as domestic releases go. One of the girls was replaced and I guess an upcoming project is due, though.

The production on the two singles which I heard was absolutely [b]terrible[/b] though. I'm really interested in knowing how much the advance they received to make the album was worth.

Totally agree with you there ::Ex-Soldier:: , TaTu's music is just soulless, I mean, whats the effort in saying "All the things she said, running through my head"?? They just say that, the rest is practically computerized!! They may be catchy and al you want, but, they seem to be empty, they lack true feelings, unlike very many other songs. I also find them extremely annoying, they say they same thing over and over again...it reallyg ets on my nerves :babble:

And I wouldn't consider them rock, not in the littlest way!! It reminds me more of techno and pop, maybe it has little rock, but I haven't noticed it. :rolleyes:

Now,being leasbians as a marketing ploy has to be what annoys me about them the most, while I [B]DON'T[/B] support lesbians [B]AT ALL[/B] I've come to respect them, but, this just brakes the ice, it has to be one of the most sickening ways to sell something, icluding music. And, they're not even real lesbians, one's even pregnant and married!! :eek: And it worked, but, for 5 minutes, they're pretty much forgotten by many people now...And, I consider them to be "one-hit wonders".
