Well, the timetable took less time than I expected ^_^;

This thread has (obviously) been created to run in conjunction with the Anime Stereotype High School RPG, which I'll get going soon. In here, participants and readers can post their ideas on characters and discuss the story.

If you've been set an interesting piece of homework (like an essay about Bishies), you can post it in here, too ^_^

This is also where a fair amount of the RPG admin will go ahead (i.e. planning school and private events), so be sure to check back regularly if something complicated's going on. If you get lost, you can post in here for help. Or, if you decide you want to drop out, you can say so here so that everyone knows and can be prepared.

Getting Started
I've finished the timetable, but there is only one for all students. hence, all of the students will be grouped together. The excuse is that most of the teachers 'retired' after a colossal explosion in the Assembly Hall last year, leaving them incredibly under-staffed. Some teachers have to teach twice the number of students they usually would, and others are teaching things they know absolutely nothing about.

With regards to lessons: as well as your specifically-chosen subjects, there is also English, Japanese, History, Maths, Geography and P.E. These are mandatory for all students. When there's a lesson on the timetable that you don't do, you have a free period. Some will have more than others, heh.

Wednesday and Sunday are completely free days. Whoo.

When posting, it would be nice if you could include a time at the beginning of your post so that everyone else knows what they should be doing. posts don't have to be minutes after each other- if you want to miss a lesson or a day in the interests of story progression then do so, so long as the time of day's displayed.

I hope this'll be a long-lasting RPG. I'm not in any hurry to rush things along, heh. So feel free to build up your character as much as you like. This takes place over an entire year ^_~

Staff Roles
Staff are expected to hold some kind of discipline over the students, although not everyone's as obedient as they should be. Teachers also get to set homework assignments, give out detentions and merit awards, and they can decide on the times that these will take place.

I hope this doesn't seem too confusing. If anyone has any questions or comments, please say.

Alright, so the staff hae some control over the discipline of the students...what about me? I'm just a janitor, and few people actually knows I exist, so should I still be able to discipline students? and would it be possible for me to tag along on field trips (by standing on the bus one legged, or hiding in the shadows at the back of the bus etc...)

Woah, I wish my real school day was that good, I have loads of spare time...SCORE! I've got to say that I'm immensely impressed with what you've done, Solo and I can?t wait for this to start ^_^
Although it's going to be kind of strange having PE with a vending machine, lol >.>;

ColourDeaf- since your character floats around pretty much anywhere, he's free to do what he likes. And janitors are still staff, so still command a certain amount of respect. Even though you don't teach or set assignments (to the students' knowledge- if you're abstract enough you could trick them into doing them without knowing it, heh), but you can give out detentions if you feel someone's doing something that warrants one.

And by the way- if anyone feels like they want to do more subjects, you can. I'm sure there'd be a few students who want to take on everything, heh.

Student Accommodation
I know I said this wouldn't matter too much, but I thought I'd designate on-campus rooms to everyone so that there's less confusion later on.

There are two apartment blocks: Kyoto House and Osaka House. Kyoto houses the students and is only a few minutes' walk away from school; Osaka has some of the Staff livingin it, and is about ten to fifteen minutes away. Each has four floors. The higher the floor, the bigger the room and the more luxuries there are. Younger years are more likely to be on the lower floors- older students get priority.

This goes by the American definition of 'floors' by the way. Apologies for confusing those from the UK ^_^;

The flats themselves consist of a cloakroom, lounge area with storage shelves/cupboards and television/phone, and up to two bedrooms, each en-suite. Some of the second-floor flats might have one toilet between two rooms.

The lowest floor on both buildings contains utilities (such as cupboards, water, gas and electricity mains, laundry rooms, shrines, toilets, a small shop), common rooms/lounges, small computer rooms and a reception area. Those on the second and third floors share a kitchen, and communal bathrooms/shower rooms are divided by gender- there aren't any inside the flats. Bedrooms are en-suite, though. On the top floor, only the kitchen is shared except one room, which has its own and four bedrooms linking from it.

Dagger IX1: Top floor (shared kitchen and additional Kendo room)
Duokeshi03/Ryoko T.D.C: Second floor
Kane: Kyoto House, Top floor (has everything)
DeathBug: Second floor
Shinmaru: Off-campus, I think...
Crucifix: Third floor
Solo Tremaine: Top floor (shared kitchen)
Lady Katana: Off-campus (shrine)
Ben: In school (corridor with vending machines)
Zidargh: Off-campus (20 minutes away)
Arcadia: Third floor
Shy: In school (Vending machine hallway)
Terra: Third floor

The only members of Staff who reside in Kyoto House are ColourDeaf's character (who has a shadowy corridor leading up to a room above the top floor), and Janitor Takashi, who has a flat in the basement. Wondershot's character lives anywhere, since he's inside Paradoxics. I assume 'hEvN's in Osaka House.

Master Ooguchi is often seen lurking around both buildings with a ladder and a pair of binoculars/camera.

Well this is finally up and I have to say fair play to Hugo on his excellent job on the RPG and Timetable. I can also safely say that I'm going to enjoy my time in this school, I mean I've only a few classes everyday and my Friday has only two classes to it. I guess I'll just wander aimlessly about the school during my free time planning my latest evil deeds, or pillaging the school with my band of lawyers.

A question about the P.E. and Extra Sports though Hugo, you've said it'll be a variety of sports but I was wondering if you could tell us exactly what they are ? And do any of them have the chance to play other school in an inter-school competition (like a football league for instance) ?

P.E is standardised- they do a different sport every three or four weeks, and these include soccer, baseball, cricket, American football (i.e. Rugby), gymnastics, athletics, hockey, volleyball and basketball. Extra Sports involves anything Master Ooguchi sees fit to try and demonstrate his own prowess at, which could involve anything from archery to horseriding.

Later in the year there'll be a huge Sports Day event, where people from this school compete against each other in teams and against teams from other schools in some events: athletics, gymnastics, hockey, soccer and basketball.

There will be other events, but I don't want to give too much away, heh.

Regarding geography...

I assume we'll be making up some locations on the fly (i.e. "I'll meet you by the broken-down mecha" and so forth), but are there any prominent campus features we should know about?

I haven't put a lot of thought into the actual geography of the campus... um... I guess there's a nearby forest, pedestrian walkways, a car/mecha/spaceship park, bicycle shelter, hospital section and a monument (a bronze statue of the school's founder in a swordfight with someone else in the middle of a fountain) inside the grounds. Apart from that everything's as it goes.

Thanks for the reply, Solo. ASHS is already turning out to be a ton of fun.

Anyway, while I'm sure we'll eventually start advancing the passage of time by larger increments, I wasn't sure how far forward I could safely jump at this point in the RPG. Since not everyone has introduced his or her character(s) yet, I'm not clear on whether we should wait for them to get settled in or start moving things along. Don't worry, though--I doubt we'll end up going through classes one minute at a time. ;)

Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. Lady Katana said that someone could introduce her character whilst she was away in Washington D.C. (lucky her, hehe), but I'm still waiting for everyone else to start posting. It's no huge problem, but I'll be disappointed if the RPG dies at this stage. I know a lot of people have gone off on holiday or are moving/busy with various things, so I'm not pushing it too hard at the moment.
Shinmaru: Off-campus, I think...
Yeah, off-campus. I'm not sure exactly how much I'll be developing the goings on at Jessica's apartment. I guess we'll have to see how much I post on free days lol. I just hope I'm correct in assuming that free days are spent at the student's homes and at other establishments (mall, fast-food joints, etc.). I know it's probably obvious, but I just want to make sure, haha.

And I'll get to posting right now. I've been raring to post in this since I got home, heh.

I'm not going to be here from the 10th till the 20. So from then, could you still try to include me in your posts? I mean not all the time, but a few. Because I'm going to Mississippi for ten days. Is that all right with you? I hope the RP goes fore a long time.

...Wednesdays off? You must have gone to my school before, Solo.

Anyway, I don't see the Mech Piloting/Quantum Mechanics course on the schedule, so does that mean that it's a course taken during free blocks? An after-school activity that students go to later? Since it seems that there wasn't anything special mentioned about the course, (not that I can remember anything, I mean) so I was wondering when it takes place, if not on the timetable.

Furthermore, it seems like everyone is going on vacation. I'm in beautiful Portugal right now, so it's hard to get online, and, starting Wednesday, I won't be online at all for a week.

Man, talk about bad timing.

The lack of Mech Piloting came as a matter of consequence- nobody who made it in had chosen it as a lesson, so I forgot to put it into the timetable. So if you like, it can be an activity/lesson taken during the first three lessons on Wednesday, running through the Break.

But if you want to teach more lessons, Wondershot, you're welcome to.

I was thinking about the time interval within posts. Can any member choose to start posting for the next day? How do we know when it's the right time to post for the next day?

At the moment, I was just going to wait for everyone to get at least one introductory post in. But if needs be things can be written in flashbacks or whatever- I know a few people are having difficulties getting somewhere to post. Basically, go at your own pace.

All that matters is that we're all on the same day. Once we're further in, I expect we might be skipping days or maybe even weeks at a time. I don't mind jumping an hour or two between a few replies (e.g. one person on 12:35, another on 4:20, another then starting at 3:21), but having one person write about one day whilst someone else is still on yesterday wouldn't work well enough unless bits of it are in flashback. Common RPG sense, really. Each character does things at different times, but they aren't all completely isolated from each other.

By the way, Kiyoshi (DeathBug's character)'s party is intended for Friday- today in the RPG is Saturday. So it's quite a wait, heh. I don't mind when things are (but if they need to be changed, that can be done here), so long as everyone's in the same time frame.

I'm glad you cleared up the issue of the party (I'm sure what day it was supposed to be was mentioned in one of DeathBug's posts, I probably just missed it like an idiot). The way a couple of people were posting, I thought it was going to be on that very Saturday lol. So, yeah, I'm no longer confused about that or anything.

Well I guess I'm number three who's had to be educated by Hugo on the timing for this RPG, otherwise I'd probably end up lost an alone for no reason, instead of being lost and alone because nobody likes me. Though that's not likely to happen is it ? [Hears crickets chirping]

One a side note Hugo, the thing between Sabre and Vegi over the room would have occured a number of years ago, since they're both seniors now. I was wondering if we could do it so that Vegi and Sabre had gotten over being enemies and maybe become friends since Vegi is one of the few people who doesn't want to kill Sabre.

No, the timing was fine ^_^; I just hadn't got round to replying yet, heh. Sorry about that. Keep posting as you like.

With regards to Sabre and Vegi: I gather Vegi's a rather nasty, vindictive person anyway (we need at least one, heh) and he coud always bring out the inherent bad-behavioured element inside Sabre, if you liked. So they could be friends, but always be bickering too.

To prevent this from falling into obscurity I'm going to suggest that we move onto the first school week as soon as possible in these next few posts- I thought I'd give everyone fair warning in case they want to add anything else before I advance a day or so, heh.
