Queen Asuka
I just bought an XBox the other day, and so far the only game suggested to me is Halo. Okay, I get it, I need Halo. But I'd also like to know what's good. I'm pretty open when it comes to genre, so I just want to know what's a good quality game, and what makes it so good. Please help me out, guys. I've been a PS2 girl for so long, I'm finally coming out of the dark.
Semjaza
Halo isn't that good... maybe you'd enjoy it, but it's definitely not something I'd run to the store for. I hardly played my copy of it beyond the first week and I don't miss it at all. At least it's finally around $20 new now. In my opinion, the best game on the system is Rallisport Challenge 2. I don't know if you're into racers, but it's an amazingly good game.
Guest Vash331
I love meeting chick gamers, especially on Xbox Live, which is exactly what you should get along with counter-strike and/or splinter cell pandora tommorow, we could be buddies :). As far as those 2 games go they're only good if you have Xbox Live, which once again i highly recommend, but you need broadband (DSL or Cable) internet access. Counter-Strike is very fast paced and very fun to play, but difficult to really get good at. You can play it for hours if you find a good friend to play with. Defianately a worthless game though if you don't have Xbox Live. If you don't like Counter-Strike then Rainbow Six 3 might be a good choice, usually most people are either a Counter-Strike kinda person or a Rainbow Six 3 person. RS3 is very strategic and tactical, it's a good deal slower paced than CS. I'm not sure about it's single player, it's probally pretty decent though (i don't own the game only rented it once, for the online play). Splinter Cell is very stealthy if you play as a spy, it's so awesome cracking necks but extremely difficult. Or if you play as a merc than there is no stealth involved just pointing and blasting. You see the multiplayer has two teams of two you can choose from, the mercs and the spies. The mercs are played in first person view like Halo, they protect the ND133's (little consoles the spies hack into). The spies are played in 3rd person just like sam fisher (the main character in splinter cell), it's a little difficult to play as them at first, they hack into the ND133's to win. The single player is also very good, the graphics are INCREDIBLE, and the gameplay is great if your into the whole hide in the shadows and quietly take out your opponent kinda thing. One really good game you might like is Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. It's really a must have, it's won so many awards, you don't even have to like star wars to love this game. I highly, highly recommend this game if you don't get Xbox Live. Ninja Gaiden is an awesome Ninja game, although be warned it does have a high difficulty level even a pro like myself had a little trouble with it here and there. Oh and next monday 8/9 they are adding a free expansion pack available only through Xbox Live. There's a good deal of games that havn't came out yet that should be very awesome, right now i'm looking at Halo 2, Fable, Star Wars Battlefront, and Splinter Cell 3. Anyways congrats on finally getting an Xbox, if you knew me at all you would know i'm very anti-PS2. I'm all about the xbox and gamecube, mostly xbox though. Everything is better on the xbox, although i will give ps2 credit for having some awesome games, even though most of them have already came over to the xbox (GTA and Metal Gear Solid). natetron46
yes Ninja Gaiden, I would highly recommend that, its awesome, the best ninja game imo. ive alo been playing the chronicles of riddick lately, i really like that as well. that game also has snapping necks, shivs, screwdrivers, and the occasional gun-fight, great stuff, i liked the movies though, so it might seem a little out there if you... give it a try, a rent at least. I, Colossus
First off, I'd go with Ninja Gaiden, it's pretty beautiful. If I remember correctly you seemed to really like the DOA series (Or just thought the girls were pretty). So then I'd go with Dead Or Alive 3. It's now a "Platinum Hit" which means you can get it new. Or you could buy it preowned for around 15 bucks. And if you really like DOA you could get Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball pre-owned for about 25. However if you do end up getting X-Box Live there is always the upcoming DOA Ultimate, which is a re-done DOA 1 & 2 that's online. If you like GTA and don't have 3 & Vice City for the PS2 you can buy them bundled in the X-Box. But I think it's still around $50. One game that is often overlooked is Panzer Dragoon Orta. It's a continuation of a series that was on the Saturn, so you might know what it is. If you're a Star Wars fan there's always KOTOR. Other than that you're on your own... EDIT: Morpheous beat me to a few of them... -_-

The Chronicles of Riddick (Shooter) Project Gotham 2 (Racing) SSX3 (Snowboarding) Wow, and i too realize that i have very few games in the way of Xbox. :/
BlueYoshi
Panzer Dragoon is always a good choice, even if it may be old. You'd be better off playing games like SSX on the PS2 because the S controller may not be as comfortable to play with as you would find the PS2 controller to be, I think. Chronicles of Riddick is okay if you're looking for something a bit different from Halo; I've never played it but many reviews don't seem to stop complimenting the various stealth aspects that Riddick's versatile character makes possible. On the subject of stealth and action, you could also try out either of the Splinter Cell games or MGS: Substance. Both have stealthy bits in them that would definitely compensate for the slow gameplay, but still, they're genuinely fun to play, and easy to pick up. Personally, I'd recommend Splinter Cell if gameplay is your deal because between the two, SC offers so much more than MGS in those terms. Substance has a fair amount of VR missions though, but they can get pretty old quite quickly. Within the year to come, I think the Xbox is going to make for a good chase when it comes to RPGs. Jade Empire is Bioware's next RPG after the KOTOR series, so that should immediately highten its reputation judging by its success. As well as being an RPG, it has a few action elements aswell that should make it interesting, and that's what intrigues me the most, especially the slow-motion Focus mode that everyone seems to be hyped up about heh.

I've never seen why Halo was given so much praise. To me, it's sort of a clone of Half-Life, only a little different. Also, the XBOX version of this game's multiplayer mode really lacks a lot. You can't have bots. There's limited levels. Basically, to me, this is just an average FPS. I've seen many like it before, and some better, like Half-Life, and so on. It's a boring game for me.
50 cent
I recommend Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. I mean this game isn't the normal run and gun type of games but it does have its moments. There is points in the game where you have to relie on stealth more than your personal strength or else you basically dead. I mean it is also a great game because you can shoot out lights and be even more stealthy because in this game you want to love the shadows. Oh and you can also see in the dark with your silver plated eyes. This game is also great because it goes along with the movies pitch black and it's sequel Chronicles of Riddick, but this game is not based on the movie it is before both movies so you no how the saga thing began, like how he got his eyes and that sort of stuff. So I highly recommend this game. This game also has amazing graphics, and thats about it.
Guest ScirosDarkblade
Halo is really fun co-op. You can play Halo all night long with a friend, going through the missions. It ends up being pretty funny for the most part. It's not the best game ever, not by a long shot, but its co-op is one of the best out there for sure. If you don't like playing RPGs on PC, get Morrowind: Game of the Year for Xbox. (It's better on PC for various technical reasons; same game though.) Morrowind is one of the best RPGs ever, and I doubt Fable will outdo it. Conker will be out kinda soon; it should be good. I'd definitely recommend Ninja Gaiden as a killer action game and DOA3 as a "cool to watch" game. Then there's KOTOR, which is another great one (though I'm not sure if it's better or worse than the PC version. I hear it controls better on Xbox, but graphically is of course not as hi-res). Xbox also has some gorgeous racing games, and it's almost always the top choice for cross-console games (except when it comes to Soul Calibur 2, because there Gamecube wins hehe). Best graphics, best sound, no need for a memory card (which I guess means get Beyond Good and Evil for Xbox).
natetron46
I forgot to mention earlier, KOTOR is a solid pick as well. Its an rpg, if you didnt know. I will stay with Riddick, I recently finished the game, and I loved it, the only thing keeping you away should be the pricetag it was 45 when I got it. And that was used! NorykoAngelcry
I'll post some opinions on games, so this doesn't classify as spam. . Red Dead Revolver is a mediocre game, worth a rental, since it's rare to find decent Western 'shooter' games. It has a whole 'Matrix - Bullet Time/ Slow Down' effect, but it's easy to look past. The graphics aren't the best, but just something about it kept bringing me back in to it. Darn. . that's about it for me I guess, and I don't even really recommend the game, just saying it's worth a rental. I only got the X-Box for Halo and Halo 2 . . . Now, on to why it's such a 'uber awesome super killer game' . . which, I don't think it is. . The Story mode is very boring, easily gets stale in no time, they try to mix things up, but whatever, I found myself having more fun playing it with someone else then by myself. . The only reason I enjoy Co-op is because I get to have someone sit back to respawn me on the Legendary mode when I die. The part that this game really shines is Multi-player. . And no, I am not talking about 4-player! I'm talking about 16 people in one house/appartment all playing the same level. It can be insane sometimes! I didn't have to spend $$600+ on a nice computer, hook it up to a LAN over someone's house to play this huge multiplayer game, I just took my cheap (enough) X-Box to my brothers, and a ton of people got to have a blast for countless hours. . That's the only reason that Halo was worth it in my opinion. I get to play video games with people that generally don't play many video games! And we all have a blast doing it! Something getting a little old? Put it on Capture the Flag or King of the Hill or something, brand new experiences. . Change up teams. . change weapons. . It's interesting enough to keep us coming back for more, because you are always getting better. I would of course like some differences, like better score keeping, perhaps another team or two? (4 teams? That would rule!). . I am really looking forward to a lot of the changes that they have planned, and some that they haven't disclosed yet. . but we'll see. I just can't wait to hook it up with all my friends and just go insane with them. We get into shouting matches, throw insults, brag to everyone . . This is just awesome for me, that's probably the best thing about it. So that's why I think that it's the best game on X-Box. . Oh yeah, you should check out KoTOR. . I had a friend who got sucked into it big time, it was that deep. Most other worthy games on X-Box probably have a better port on the Computer or something. . lol ^_^ Don't kill me~
