Project Mynd

In the year 2199 AD, Karl Marx's worker's revolution has become a horrid reality and the very existence of man has been put in the hands of wealthy businessmen. With this in mind, the world has become a rigidly classed society ruled by these men's corporations and countries are now known as foundations. Around 2100, a new source of free flowing energy was found, it was dubbed Mako. One corporation which has domain over what once was Japan, called the Masamune Corporation had began work on a program it calls Project: Mynd. Project Mynd's intentions was to develop a new bioweapon using Mako to destroy all those opposed to the Masamune Corporation's grand scheme.

My sorta vision of the world...

I want this to be a pseudo-futuristic fantasy world complete with many bio-engineered monsters and such, it doesn't sound like much, but I'm horrible at interpreting my emotions.

The Story

You are one of the bioweapon's created by the Masamune Corporation. You were once human, but were captured by corporation scientists to be experimented upon and turned into one of these bioweapons. But you are not happy that your life was taken away from you, so you escaped from the battlefield in order to plot your revenge against the corporation. You meet up with several other freedom fighters who also share your vision of bringing the corporation down... and that's where this story begins. (I'm using James's chapter system, so I don't want to give away too much information.)

[color=royalblue][b] Character's Name:[/b] Ryuu Yuramaki

[b]Code Name:[/b] Dragon

[b]Appearance:[/b] Dragon is built to be fast and flexible, yet tough. His physical stature is some six feet, three inches in height, and his body's muscular frame seems to be more agile and limber, yet his appearance belies his incredibly dense muscle mass. Before the Project, Ryuu had gentle, sky-blue eyes and light brown hair. Now, Dragon has crimson, glowing eyes, midnight black hair with glowing crimson streaks, and an affinity for leather and jeans that match his hair. His eyes became slitted after the experiment, much like the eyes of the mythical beast he was named after, and like many other subjects of Project Mynd, his canine teeth have elongated, though only slightly.

[b]Abilities:[/b]

[u][i]Pyrokinesis:[/u][/i] The ability to control, create, and resist fire. Limited by the amount of concentration and type of gases in an area, and by the sheer force of will required to use, pyrokinesis is not all it's cracked up to be, especially considering that the Masamune Corporation deemed "Subject Dragon" of Project Mynd a failure due to the extreme affection and enjoyment the subject showed to water, especially rain and sea water.

[u][i]Enhanced Speed:[/i][/u] Subject Dragon was gifted with superior speed, approximately two and a half times that of the fastest Olympic sprinter, and a nearly inexhaustible running endurance. Though this speed is not really much, considering the speeds that other subjects under Project Mynd's influence can achieve, it is still formidable against normal human beings.

[u][i]Enhanced Durability:[/i][/u] Due to certain questions being raised about the formerly frail subject's ability to take damage, especially in along, drawn out battles, Subject Dragon's stamina and durability were increased to a level of capability in which Subject Dragon can have boulders thrown at him and withstand the impact with minor bruising. Explosive rounds proved less effective because of subject's elemental nature. The one flaw in subject's durability is his inability to withstand damage from a mako cannon, often causing a feedback effect which renders the subject unconscious.

[u][i]Martial Arts:[/u][/i] Specifically programmed with knowledge of kendo, kempo, Tai Chi Chuan, and various Ninjutsu forms, Subject Dragon is a formidable fighter. As a result of the tuning given the subject's body in order to allow for flawless execution of the martial arts techniques, the subject's strength was increased nearly tenfold his original, albeit rather unimpressive, strength. Current strength estimate: subject can punch with roughly 150 pounds of force and can benchpress nearly twice that. Given subject's original strength, this growth level is quite impressive.

[b]Personality:[/b] Ryuu Yuramaki, a shy, introverted boy of seventeen, was always the last to speak up, if he ever did. He seemed merely to allow the world to slip past him. Now, after Project Mynd, Dragon is a whirling inferno of emotions. Unafraid and reckless, Dragon will rush headlong into any situation so long as the odds seem in his favor. Honorable to a fault, he would stay and fight to his utmost even if the odds turned against him. Restless and eager, Dragon's temper begins to boil when he has nothing to do for any length of time. His longest recorded "quiet time" during the Project was barely forty-five minutes, after which he exploded violently into a kata decorated by flames. Dragon takes insults against himself in stride, but has shown a fierce loyalty to his few friends. Insulting them is little short of a deathwish. Oddly for a pyrokinetic, Ryuu has retained his love for rain and the ocean instead of shunning the bane of his elemental prowess.

[b]Biography:[/b] Ryuu Yuramaki, born in December of 2182, was a shy, introverted child, though exceptionally smart. Showing a rare talent for tactics and academics, Ryuu managed to solve the many financial problems his family had at the age of thirteen. This skill in business attracted the eyes of many corporations, and as Ryuu grew older, he became an even more shy teenager as he realized that people who could bankrupt his family easily, no matter how much effort he put out, were watching him. Taking to nature for comfort, the boy grew to love the outdoors and especially the sea and the frequent rainstorms along the coast of Honshu.

As he grew to the age of seventeen, he failed to get the nutritional aid that was required for a child, having given up his supplements so that his family could sustain itself without relying on loans and banks. As a result of this and his tactical abilities, he became the target for many cybernetically enhanced bullies and other unsavory characters, often ending up limping home with many bruises hidden underneath his many-times-too-large sweatshirt. As a result, he let all of his potential out in his school work, often quoting Sun Tzu's Art of War in his work.

This potential captured the attention of the Masamune Corporation, who, in the dead of night, sent a group of their best soldiers after the poor, weak boy while he was asleep in bed, dreading the next day with a passion.[/color]

[u]Code name:[/u] Hanyou/ assasin type

[u]Appearence:[/u] Hanyou a female humanoid, small of size, stands at a meager Five foot four inches, although shaped quite fully, as a young female adult, she is painfully thin. Before and during the first half of the expirements, she retained her human appearance, which, was still full shaped, however, with a normal weight amount, and slightly taller. She once had long, poker straight brown hair and light brown, almond shaped eyes. Now however, she has waist length purple hair, with platinum streaks through it, and yellow catlike eyes. While her ears are still on the side of her head, they are fur covered, and pointed, rather akin to the elf proto-type. Her teeth, which beofre were fang-like, have now taken a full blown vampiric look. While she had always wore her nails long, the now retain a clawlike appearence. She prefers to wear overly large jeans, small, short tee-shirts, and long trench-coats, in shades of black and grey.

[u]Abilities:[/u]
[b]control over kinetic energy:[/b] The least frequently used of her abilities, this power allows her to force the kinetic energy in objects, to move around at such speeds that would incur combustion, giving it the appearance as pyro-kinesis, however, this power requires more mako, then what should be deemed appropriate, and causes unseemly recovery time. THis ability has only been enhanced, according to researchers, as it was not programmed into Hanyou's mind, therefore, was said to be pre-existing.

[b]Enhanced physical prowess:[/b] As like the famed neko-youkai, Hanyou has been made to have feline grace, and speed, which were necessary components for the testing part of brawling skills, which she failed dismally in the first half of expiramenting, unless a weapon was provided, which once provided, proved to be quite dangerous, as expirement Hanyou, would often cause chaos in futile attempts to escape.

[b]enhanced senses:[/b] In the areas of sight, smell, taste, and hearing, all have been improved to surpass that several times over of an actual neko. These senses were already abnormally high, and this expirament passed all stealth and tracking test, causing her status as expirement to gain, as she would begin to be classified as assasin-type Hanyou

[b]Over all enhanced fighting capabilities:[/b] Dismal in the beggining, and still, not up to par as many others, hand to hand combat has been increased, as shown through testing, when this experiment, was made to fight to the death with other assasin-type humannoids. 83% of all fights had been effectively won, in under five minutes, 7% in over twenty, and the remaining 10% in over one hour.

[u]Personality:[/u] Before the expirementations, Takada, Kaori was a loud, opinionated youth, while the latter is still retained, Hanyou has taken it to mind, to be silent, unless it feels other wise. While it appears to be apathetic, Hanyou stoicism, though, occasionally, outburts occur, causing mako to flow thickly through the air, charging up any surrounding expiraments, to act on the prominent emotion. Hanyou once was partial to fine arts, but now however, finds it only apporpriate to sing softly to itself when alone, or, when thinking.

[u]Bio:[/u] Takada, Kaori, lived a rather poor life while with her mother, eating very little, living in a slum neighboorhood. Art was a passion she retained, and often used it to gain opportunites out of the area, to show off pieces at shows in distant cities, however, upon return, something horrid, had always seemed to happen, so what little amount of money she kept for herself, and did not chose to secretly donate, was spent on these misfortunes. It is not to say she was completely unhappy about her life, she found joy amongst her friends, what few there were, as most teenagers did, however, sitting alone and thinking, often caused her to be prone to spurts of depression.

At her fathers home, she lived richly, however, was often bothered by local adolescents, who found her to be abnormal, and called such things out to her as she would walk, head down, up the street to the bus stop. Her father was often angry with her unresposive behavior, and would take his anger out on her phsyically. It took years of cuts and bruises to finally push her to the brink of suicide, at which she held a gun the her fathers heart, then smiled, and pulled it to her mouth. Officials were called and she spent a year in a mental ward, until, she was pawned off on her poverty-ridden mother.

Kaori has many siblings from both her mother and father, as they both were apparently "easy" as she had often put it, to be nice, or "sluts" as she would when they had bothered her. Presumably selfish, and cold towards others, she was very warm, although sometimes distant with friends. She is fiercly loyal to those she deems worthy of her respect, and would kill instantly for them, as she had often come close to at the slums her she lived in with her mother.

Her near loner stantus and violent actions when crossed caused intrest for the Masamune corporations. When finally decided to take a monorail trip to visit her father, several humanoids abducted her and thus started the expiraments.

[b]Bio:[/b] Alice was a kind child, and tried to make friends with almost anyone she met. Some people would describe her as a bit naive, but that was only before they got to know her. She especially loved the new pets her father would buy her to try to make up for all of the time he had to spend away from home. The animals could never replace Alice's father, but they did help her forget about him for at least a little bit. However, underneath this warm and fuzzy life, there was something much darker. Alice constantly had nightmares of monsters with sharp teeth that were chasing after her. Her mother would usually find Alice screaming and saying, "Please don't let the monsters get me!". Alice had even bitten her mother one night, when she tried to wake her up. Soon, as the dreams got worse, Alice started sleepwalking. And the next morning, Alice found herself sleeping in her pet room, with what was left of the corpse of her dead kitten in her mouth. Alice threw up, and soon came to realize that she was the monster she had been running from. But she never imagined that Project Mynd would turn her nightmares into reality...[/color][/size][/font]

His garb is changed too, where blue used to be, is a crimson red. On his white sash, instead of hope, it says "Avidtiy" in violet. His sword has a purple hilt, and the blade is deep violet, like nearly everything else.

[b]Abilities:[/b]

[u]Control of light:[/u] Judgement uses eigth colors of light to fuel different attacks and helpful things. These are the colors he uses:

Red. He fires a Red Ray of Destruction when he attacks with it, but if he charges it, it becomes a Red River of Desolance. The Red Ray is a finger wide beam of superheated light and air, and the Red River is a torso sized blast of heat. Its powers are keeping him warm and gives a small light.

Orange. Its attacks are, Orange Overthrow of Power, which hurls a giant boulder made of orange light that can crush things. His charge is Orange Overload of Fury, which boosts his strength and swordmanship.

Yellow. Its attacks are, Yellow Yell of Strength, which produces a small barrier of power which expands five feet out. His charge attack only makes it go 10 feet out.

Green. Its attacks are, Green Gale of Wind, which launches a small twister that shoots forward. His charge attack is Green Gate of Heaven, which charges at the enemy to impale them on the spikes of it. Its power is to be able to make a globe of air that works like a firefighers' oxygen tank, but lighter.

Blue. Blue Blast of Hatred is an attack that unleashes some of his hatred in a cryogenic blast to hurt and freeze the enemy. His charge is just like the Blue Blast of Hatred, but the beam is wider, and can push right though the enemy, freezing them from the inside.

Indigo. Indigo Impalement of Justice makes a thin beam of light that expands into a wall of Light, and then when it smacks the enemy, it conforms into a spear and stabbs them. Charge is Indigo Insealment, which puts a seal of light on their head, which stops movement and then makes a spear of light to kill them

And the most powerful, Violet. Visious Violet Wave is an attack that launches an avalanche of light upon the enemy. The worst thing he can summon up is The Violet Unvraveling, which dissolves ANYTHING it touches.

[u]Swordsmanship:[/u] Judgement is skillled with the blade seen in his hand for close combat.

[b]Personality:[/b] Judgement, dispite his apperance is rather kind and caring. But, if you anger him, you will fall to his light attacks faster than you can take your next breath. He's got a lot of spunk and angnst, so he's enthusiastic in battle.

[b]Bio:[/b] Ky grew up on the streets, eating rats to survive. His poor apperance and sutblety led many people to devlop compassion and hope for him, and fed him regular meals, and one family took them into their home. He repaid them befor setting out to discover his identity, but as soon as he left home, they were killed. Ky took this as treason, and vowed to find who he really was, then find whoever did that to his family. His true past wasn't pretty, and he found out that the person that killed his old family was his own brother. He cornered his brother in a musty ally, and tore his gizzard up, stringing it on a lamp post. Masamune saw the ruthlessness displayed when he was angered to the right point, and decied to make him into Judgement. As Judgement, he killed scores of the assassins that his family had belonged to, until he killed them also. His deed done, he sought out Masamune to change him back, but they refused...[/COLOR][/SIZE]

[B]Code Name[/B]: Zephyr

[B]Appearance[/B]: Tall and dangerously thin, Toshiro's arm are long and gangly, with long fingers and wide knuckles. His face is rapier thin and he has a hooked nose, and wide eyes. His mouth is wide and normally curled into a smile. His hair is long and bright red, dyed, although there are streaks of premature white in it. He normally wears a skin tight bodyglove of a black synthetic material, underneath a long brown trenchcoat and over large brown gloves. His lower legs are encased in huge metallic boots, with small pistons and springs hidden carefully in them. these are to absorb most of the shock of impact from his landings. Although his face is undoubtedly youthful (late twenties), there are definite signs of wear and tear. He habitually wears racing goggles on his forehead.

[B]Abilities[/B]:

[B]Speed[/B]: Zephyr seems to be able to work on a different speed than any ofther creature on earth. Because of this he can travel at speeds that rival teleportation, leap great distances and posseses split second reflexes that are on the brink of a sixth sense. His body natural exudes a protective psionic barrier when travelling at these high speeds to stop him breaking his neck when turning a corner or splatting on an unfortunate wall. He has discovered a use for the barrier, becoming a human bullet, crashing through walls and other obstacles that get in his way. However, the faster he travels the more damage he does to his body (many reports show him curled up on his cell floor coughing up blood for hours after a particularly long fight), and although he has an incomparably faster healing rate than humans, the damage does show.

[B]Personality[/B]:
Toshiro is a kindly person, although he does have an inflated ego and a superiority complex to go with it. He is a strangely patient for a person with his ability, and can be found more often than not reading a book (a favourite of his being a novel-sized rendition of - oddly enough - [I]The Tortoise and the Hare[/I], which he proclaims is "deeply depressing"). He holds great respect for people that can match his speed, and people who can best him in a fight (normally exclaiming he is "in love with their skills"). He also has a habit of getting people's names wrong.

[B]Bio[/B]:
Toshiro had a fairly normal childhood. He had two dreams, to be the fastest runner in the world (he was a successful sprinter during middle and high school) and to see the world. All of it. He trained in running almost obsessively, having little time for his friends and family. He was approached by the Masamune Corporation to be part of what they described as a "Specialist training course for up and coming athletes." Young and naive as he was, he accepted the terms and agreed to be experimented on. He did not, however, expect the level of experimentation he was to undergo. The did numerous surgeries on his leg muscles to find their density, and these had to be performed without anestehtic, as his highly sped up metaolism burned through it too quickly. He was trained relentlessly to heighten his powers, and was soon ready for battle. He was highly successful in assassination missions, and was in high demand (who wouldn't want a fighter who could speed past security and dodge bullets?).
What the Corporation did not tell him was that his body was workingso fast that hewould die much sooner than originally anticipated. They don't know whether he will die in a year, ten years or tomorrow, but he will die soon. He already has a series of drugs and medicines to keep him going. Upon learning them, he abandoned Masamune to it's own devices, and swore reenge on those that made him quite literally live fast and die young.[/COLOR]

Lynn can make her voice become very high-pitched, and often can shatter things.

Lynn?s hearing, smell, sight, touch, and taste are all enhanced. Mostly like Kaori, except for the fact that her speed is also taken up a couple notches.
[u]Instant Knowledge[/u]
With this, Lynn knows exactly what she needs to know, when she needs to know it ? but only when she needs to know it. Not when she wants, but when its needed. This little factor was put in to control her better.
[u]Voice Control/Mimicry[/u]
With this, Lynn?s voice becomes what she wants it to, and whatever the feeling is, that?s what the people she directs it at feels. She can mimic everything from a dog to a bird to a human.
[b]Personality:[/b] Before her transformation, Lynn was very snooty, and stuck up, but now she?s a little more laid back. Still all over herself, but fairer to others nonetheless.
[b]Bio:[/b] Lynn was an only child, and soon an orphan. She never could figure out why she looked more like her aunt than her mom. Unfortunatley, her mother was killed in a car crash, and her dad was devastated. She went to live with her aunt and cousin, Lisa and David. David was adopted, and had a serious crush on her. She excelled in school, and in sports, especially surfing. She was gorgeous, and had plenty of boyfriends. Then, she was taken, and made into Voice. Lynn hates herself now, and is kinder towards others. She won?t return to David and Lisa, afraid for them.[/color][/font][/size]

[B]Abilities[/B]: She uses the large leaf to spread a power to allow her to project her illusion on the person or to let her put the person alseep.

[B][U]Hypnotic[/B][/U]~ Places person into a deep slumber. They can not be awaken till she lets them out of her spell.

[B][U]Nightmare[/B][/U]~ While someone is asleep she can send them what ever there worst nightmare is. The person will not be able to wake up from it until she allows them to.

[B][U]Illision[/U][/B]~Places the person into a trances. They are neither alseep or awake. In this state she can control what she wants them to think or do. The person also believes that they are still awake and of there own free will. Aislin can project images of what she wants them to see.

[B][U]Dream Walker[/B][/U]~ Allows her to enter the persons dream. There she can minuplate them and twist them to her way. She can also control their dreams if theu are weak enough. While dream walking she uns a risk of getting hurt. If the person is strong enough they can harm her in there dreams. Whatever happens in the dreams will happen to her in real life.

[B]Personality[/B]: Aislin was a normal woman. She was kind and gentle when she wanted but had a tongue that could but any person in her place. She can read people easly by motions they do and she nows how to handle them. She doesn't like to hurt other peoples feelings but she will not lie to them. Aislin never lies no matter what. She believes that lying is the worst thing you can ever do. She has a soft spot for kids and animals. No matter how angry she can be at them they always melt away her heart. After the expiroment she seemed a little more distant and anger more easly, but she pushes herself to be like she was before.

[B]Bio[/B]: Aislin grew up in a happy household. She had her Mother, Father and two older brothers.The grew up in a middle class life though they weren't the richest family onthe block she didn't care. Always happy with what she has and never asked for anything. Her older brothers would always pick on her because she was the baby of the family but the never ment any of it. Her oldest brother Mike went away to college to study to be a doctor when she was four. She missed him and the tea parties he would play with her. When she was ten her other brother Ron went to college to study to be a enviromentist. This left her sad but they always wrote her letters.

In school Aislin always did a good job. Whenever she needed help her parents always did. Study and good grade may have never of come easy to her but she always worked hard to earn them. She had many friends around her but she also had a bunch of eniemes. Her telling it how it is addittude would seem to get her in trouble a bunch of times. She didn't care whether or not they liked her. If they wanted her to lie to be their friend than they weren't a true friend. As she grew older she had a crush on a boy named Steven. He had moved away before she could reveal her true feelings. She was sadden for awhile but she bounced back to her normal self.

When she graducated from her school she was had the highest honor. Everyone asked her what she was going to be going to school for. She always calmly shook her head and said she is not going to college. Everyone who heard this from her was shocked. Than they asked her why. She would say she wants to be a prietess and help anyone she could. So that is what she did. Once she had her mind set on something than she would go through with it. She trained under a priest and seem to be doing good. She would often go to orphanges and bring them food or other supplies they need.

On her twenty eights borthday she was out for a walk in the local park. She thought that the day felt a bit strang ebut she just shrugged it off. Down a path Aislin saw a small puppy that looked like it was hurt. Since she was worried about it she went to make sure it as okay. when she got there she felt soemone grab her. She struggled to get away she couldn't. This was the day that would turn her life around. On that day Aislin was caputred and turned into a Bioweapon.

Dran can enhance his eyesight by 2x. This allows him to see other's from a distance.

Dran is very skilled with a blade. He has practiclly mastered his art of swordsmanship. Those on the receiving ends of a blow from his blade usually don't stand back up when knocked down.

[I][B][U]Speed of 1000 falcons[/U][/B][/I] -
Dran can increase his speed and repeatdly attack his opponent, or he can fly up and attack the enemy from above. Usually he flys up and drives his blade down into the enemy.

Dran flaps his wings repeatdly creating a gust at the opponent. The faster his wings go the stronger the gust of wind. He can follow this up by striking the enemy whilst there being knocked back.

[B]Personality:[/B]Before Dran's transformation he was a kind, compassionate man. Now he constantly retreats to himself, and only show's emotion to those that he feel's he can trust. Once he knows someone well enough he lightens up and is more like the man he used to be. Despite this he has a bad tendency to be sarcastic and his anger has a short fuse.

[B]Bio:[/B] Dran grew up in a loving, caring family.Both of his parents were there for him, and his younger brother and sister loved him as well. He never had any troubles and was alowed to do anything he pleased, but was disceplined if he was troublesome. When he reached the age of 6, his mother died in a car accident. She was racing home for Dran's birthday when another car came speeding out another lane and crashed into her. She was trapped in the car and then it exploded. Dran was heartbroken for weeks, but eventually was able to put aside his sorrow and anger. His father allowed him to have a pet animal, whatever he wanted. His father wanted to fill the gap in his son's life. Dran chose a falcon.

He went through his school years without trouble. After college he became a mechanic, and got married to one of his college girlfriends, Christy Lightwind. They lived together happily for years, even got a dog. Christy loved Dran and was amazed at his skill with birds. So was Masamune. They took him in and changed him into Falcon. After the many experiments conducted upon him, they let him go. He thought his wings were cool at first and decided that after a week he would fly home to show Christy. People pointed at him and ran away in fear, and he began to hate his wings. He was scared that Christy would have the same reaction, but musterd the strength to enter their apartment. When he showed her, she did not run in fear. She loved him for him and vowed to help him gain revenge on Masamune.[/COLOR][/SIZE]

After, Allen appeared deathly. His skin was the cadverous white grey of the dead. His eyes glazed over with a milky white cataract-like sheen. His body was shrivelled and sickly looking.

[list][i]Phase-[/i] Ash can move his body slightly out of phase with the rest of the world, nudging himself into a slightly different plane of existence. He appears translucent and even more white than normal. He becomes, quite literally, a ghost.
[i]Possess-[/i] Ash can temporarily take control of any given subject. He has full acess to their memories and full motor abilities.
[i]Telekinesis-[/i] Just the simple pick an object up and throw it deal. Nothing major.

[b]Personality:[/b] Ash, being an extremely social man in his prior life, is a complete introvert now. He barely speaks and would rather leave than socialize. Though quick to act in a tesne situation, Ash usually let people make big decisions for him.

[b]Bio:[/b] Allen was born and raised in the Midwest. Still after all these years, one of the main dairy producers of the world, he grew up on a farm. All of the machinery was extremely high tech, almost to the point of not having to do any work at all, but they still were machines. And machines broke down. He went through the first ten years of his life working with his father day in and day out repairing these machines.

Then he went off to school. A bit of a late starter, he finished college at about twentyfive. His grades were never the best, but his social life soared. He partied at least three times a week and dated even more often. College, after graduating wasn't exactly something one can just forget, and the friends he kept afterwards led him to a nice job with the Masamune Corporation. He was making good money, 80,000 a year.

Then, one night while he was doing a routine security sweep of the building, he was stolen away by four or five men in black uniforms. When he woke up, he was strapped to a table, having pure Mako fused with his skin. The pain was worse than anything he had ever felt before. His skin cracked and die before his very eyes. The Mako seeped into his bloodstream, destroying everything living inside of him. His heart stopped and his brain shut down. He died.

When Allen awoke he was in a holding cell with several different machines hooked up to him. He no longer felt like himself, and had the name Ash tatooed onto his right inner wrist. Not even inteding to escape, Ash walked right through the walls and out of the complex.[/size]
