Hinata
Trini stood back from the group seeing who Allen was walking back with and kept her eyes on him as they walked back. He wasn't the same, or maybe it was just her instincts going haywire and nerves creeping up on her. Who knew? As she continued to think to herself, both Sam and Allen made their way towards them. "Look who finally showed up?" Allen said smirking towards Sam. "Yeah I see him," Trini answered back now looking at Sam. "Damn man you look like shit!" "Whoa, a bit fiesty there now aren't we?" Sam commented back glancing at her and then gazing over to the group. His eyes seeming to be searching for someone in particular. "Well one of us women as to get on you guy's ass every once and a while, and since I knew you the longest, I guess I'll take the reigns." Allen only smiled. Trini did too. But Sam didn't seem to keen on the comment and maybe was ignoring her. Still glancing over at the rest of the group. Trini also turned around seeing what Sam was interested in. "Oh, my bad man, go on over and say hey to 'em." Trini moved outta Sam's way and he touched her lightly on the shoulders. "Good seein ya again Trin'. We'll catch up later." Trini's sensation from that touch was mixed. She felt hot ith excitement and cold with fear at the same time. Only one other had that effect. She began to think about him but quickly snapped back to answer Sam. "Yeah," she answered her voice dying down as he walked away. Corey
No more talk of DragonBlood. He has been properly informed of his fragile position and, less he fails to get back to me and clean up his act soon, will be delt with in good measure. Yes Delirium, you are correct. ??? Allen looked over his team. Not bad considering what they were about to face was never in any kind of training. He felt slightly comforted knowing he'd be working with people that showed potential for survival. Even if they couldn't see it, he did. Marcus, dispite being afraid, was extremely aware and would probably not hesitate to take a bullet for someone he cared about. Allen turned around sharply. Allen- "Speaking of cared about people..." Trini turned to look at him. Trini- "What?" Allen- "Where's Van..." Trini looked startled. It had obviously not occured to her either with all the sudden excitement of a new crew to meet. Trini- "I..." She pulled out a cell phone and dialed a number swiftly. A frown creased her brow and she slipped it back into her pocket. "He's not picking up... I hope something hasn't happened..." Allen turned back to the mostly closed hanger, catching the slight refractions of light off of the ships hull. Allen- "Nah... He's ok..." He didn't sound too convincing to his own ears.
Annie
OOC: Holy Moses, sorry for my absence. Wow, gone for a couple of days and two pages pop up. I apologize for my sloppy post, I'm rather tired. I just wanted to get back into the swing (although I'm still a bit behind), so just bear with it... IC: Ana sighed at the midsts of the growing madness. Everyone was buzzing with confussion, mixed emotions, and anxiety. Ana gazed around the group. Her eye fell upon Allan once more. Memories past flushed through her mind. The good, the bad, and the ugly. "This is going to be a tough ride," Ana sighed. She spoke with a few of the crew memebers and explained her work on the previous mission. "So, you volunteered?" "Yes, I did," Ana spun around to stare eye to eyes with the distraut pilot, Sam Tiller. His hollowed eyes scanned Ana with such longing. "I love volunteers," his lips moved ever so slowly and painfully, "Shevolunteered for the Bladerunner mission..." "Who?" Sam edged closer, his hand caressing Ana's. "Tex." "Ana," Allen's voice broke an unsteady wave of twisting emotion, "I need to have a word with you. If you'll excuse us, Sam." "Of course, Cap'n," Sam jumped back playfully and bowed. Allan shook his head at Sam and walked Ana towards the hanger doors. "Stay away from him, okay?" "Allen-" "I mean it. It's for your safety." With that, Allen turned his attention back to the others. Ana nodded and glanced back at Sam. He was smiling, almost chuckling. "What's so funny, Mr. Tiller?" Ana folded her arms. "You have a pretty eye, Liutenant General."
Raiha
She didn't turn a hair, but incase anyone had noticed, and nobody had, she had witnessed the entire exchange. Avlen raised one eyebrow, and noted the experience in the fifteenth page she'd penned through with her Mont Blanc. Then, like a light being turned off in her head, she closed the leaves of paper in the plastic case, opened the breifcase and stored away pen and paper, and shut the whole thing and snapped it shut. Avlen Arboreal stood and smiled softly. The folds of her gown shuddered around her legs like rushing water and she felt the change rush through her blood vessels. The welcome oddity was certainly worth sitting on her behind while a crick in her back developed. She had noticed the exchanges between the Captain and the people that had been on previous missions. Based on their expressions, it was going to be a hell ride. And, if this Sam was any indication, they were all toast. She was thankful her extremely short hair, soon to be shaved off completely, and her oddities were enough to scare away the best of men. Not to mention it kept her life extremely unremarkable and uncomplicated. Ana was slightly bemused, until she heard the brush of fabric against bare leg. Like a sylph, Avlen had appeared next to her and was eyeing Sam. "...amazing, Your eyes are tortured." He turned the aforementioned upon her and instantly felt himself locked in a battle of wills. Bright silver and purple flashed in his vision, but no, it was in all actuality the force of her own pupils staring right into his. He blinked several times, then muttered something and walked away. Ana turned to exclaim to Avlen, but she had turned and wass gazing up at the hulk of the ship that would take them to the stars. Beyond the stars. If she had read Weir's papers right. And she wasn't thrilled about it. His files had been classified as dangerous and such and such, but naturally she'd opened them all, downloaded every file, and ripped everything onto laser disks kept hidden in both mind and office. .......beyond the stars. The phrase was stuck in her head, and rounded through it like a liturgical chant. She found herself whispering the words.
Jokopoko
Marcus had found a relatively comfortable barrel to sit on slightly away from the rest of the group, finding nothing better to do his was simply staring up into the sky wondering where he?d be in the newt few weeks. It was early afternoon so he had no hope of spotting the moon let alone Mars in the wide open space above them. He cast his eyes over the group and took note of a new arrival, he?d seen his face in the crew manifest of the pervious mission but the man looked utterly different now and somewhat dishevelled. Trying not the think that it was the previous mission that had done that to him so instead he focused on his family. He?d heard in recent news that his father had closed another large business deal and brought out a major rival, Marcus let out a quiet hollow laugh. If only his father could see him now, the brave scientist going off into space on some foolhardy mission. The thought didn?t give him much comfort but helped him take his mind of the mission. Marcus had decided not to tell the others that he was actually related to the ?great? Richard M. Treming, he?d rather save that information until he had to, or wanted to give it up, he knew that the Captain would know seeing as he had his personnel record on hand but he figured he was safe with just the Captain knowing seeing as he looked like the kind of person who took you for what you are and what you did, not what your last name is. Marcus: ?This is going to be a very interesting journey.....in the best possible sense I hope? He said quietly to himself as he cast his eyes back to his crewmates.
Gavin
I'm sorry it's taken this long to get here but I'm back and ready to rock. Van eyes flickered as the light shone through the blinds of his window, his breath was rank from the night before after settling into an old habit of working through ‘til dawn. He could hear the distant sound of his phone ringing and jumped or rather tumbled our of his bed in a vain attempt to retrieve the communications device. Van: Hang on... Hang on... [Phone stops ringing] Ah damn it... He rubbed his eyes before taking in his surroundings fully, the apartment he was staying in was luxurious enough but he'd trade it all for the simple ability to wake up on time. Stripping off he headed for the shower to get ready for the mission, even as the hot water poured over him he felt a tingle down his spine, anxiety, he had a good reason to be anxious if this was to be anything like his previous mission. He ran his hands down over his upper-body, it had changed a lot in a month along with everything else. Drying himself off he headed for the kitchen to get a bite to eat and a cup of tea before he met up with the others. Luckily he'd made a sandwich the night before and pretty soon he was clothed, dry and fed, not bad for 30 minutes. Quickly heading towards the phone he redialled Trini's mobile hoping that she hadn't taking his earlier mishap personally. Her sweet voice echoed on the other end of the phone as he foolishly tried to explain why he was late. Trini: [Laughs] Another late night Van.. if you don't hurry up Allen is likely to leave without you... [giggles] Van: Heh, don't tempt me, I'd be perfectly happy to let him do it if the military will let me retire after this, tell Allen I'll be there in about 10 minutes. Trini: [Chuckles] Drive safely Van: I will... Quickly grabbing his keys he made his way down to Reception asking them sent anything left in the room to the USAF under the name of General Gavin Ambrose. The clerk nodded before Van make a hasty exit down to the car park, putting his foot down on the accelerator Van was glad that he was covered by military insurance. His Audi had been provided for him by the Irish Embassy and he had no intention of having the cost deducted from his pay check, 9 and a half minutes and 8 red lights later Van was outside Hanger 13 looking at a ginning Allen and a rather surprised looking Trini. Trini: You don't joke about do you ? Corey
Allen- "I was getting worried Van." Allen walked up to him and gave him a hug. "Don't do that. I was afraid you'd miss this, not that you'd mind all that much, right?" Van smiled slightly, bur it was a sad and slow smile. Van- "Part of me want to stay. But I know we need to finish this." Allen nodded and stepped between Trini and Van. He threw an arm around each of their shoulders and started guiding them to the mostly closed hanger door. Allen- "Well then. Let's go." He removed his arms, and they nstantly fell behind him a bit. He noted it, but didn't exactly like it. "Attention everyone. The remaining member of the crew, Van Ambrose, has arrived." Every head turned towards him. "Mr. Treming, there's a button right on the inside of that door. You're the closest so please do me the honor of revealing the hunk of shit we'll be flying to Mars in." Marcus jumped up, caught a little off gaurd, and quickly went in the man door and pressed the button. Engines hummed to life, pulling the hanger door to one side. At first all that could be seen was a large amount of white metal, what was probably one of the sides of the ship. Allens first thought was that it was bulkier than the Bladerunner had been. He didn't expect a sleek little babe like his had been, but this looked more on the side of a cargoship. The door stopped at the end of its track and the ship was displayed to all. There were four Purple Class Ion Drives in the rear, several manuevering thrusters around the ship, four 'Rail Driver'* turrets, and one hell of a lot of ship. It measured sevenhundred feet long, threehundred wide, and eighty high. It was currently at a fifty degree angle pointing up into the atmosphere. Allen- "Not bad..." Allen smiled. At least they had something a little more protected this time. The white metal was TriTanium. Strongest stuff yet. Allen looked around at the mostly amazed faces. "Let's take a tour, shall we?" *** *'Rail Drivers' are an adaption of the old fashioned gatling gun. They use miniature explosive-tipped titanium rounds fired at a supersonic velocity to literally tear through anything. The rounds can also be non-explosive or radioactive.
Raiha
Avlen muttered under her breath the thoughts that had resulted in her getting yelled at more than once...but it was worth it. "A tour. ...I hate tours." If anyone noticed, nobody commented, and she, feeling like one of the common herd, trooped in, following the leader. So far she had been ignored like a piece of sheet metal on the underside of the ship. ...and you know what...she liked it that way. As soon as she entered, her nostrils were assailed by the scent of "NEW SHIP" smell. Clearly nobody had given a second thought to what might happen if they invested in an air freshener perhaps? Pina Colada? Fresh apricot? Marmalde? .....Marmalade. Avlen liked marmalade. Either way she realized she was next to by herself, standing in the middle of the abandoned entryway. She shrugged and followed the arrows on the ship directing her to the conn. Not that anyone would care if she was separated from the group. Ships intercoms worked well. At least she hoped they did. For something this expensive served up by USAF, it better be good. Avlen found what she was looking for and stowed her breifcase in the underseat comparment. Then, feeling like a hostess on an airplane, sat down and touched a pannel. Instantly, the lights turned on and everything came to life with a dull hum. Apparently, she was allowed access to the intercom. Oh the possibilities shifting to life in her head. She resisted the urge to press every button and see what happened.
Hinata
Trini remained by Van, the two of them whispering together, as Allen, about 10 feet in front of them looked around the interior of the ship as they were passing through. "I'm surprised he didn't get an attitude with you?" Trini started partially leaning over to Van. "What do you mean?" He looked back at her eyes wide. "Well you remember the first mission don't you? Trini started, her voice still low, Allen speaking over her but not taking her attention. "Well remember how I was late and he made a smart comment about it." "Yeah who could forget," Van replied smirking. Trini shoved him a lil bit and they both smiled at the comment. The tour of the new ship still going on. The two of them took a brief silence as they looked from side to side. They had seen the cargo bay, mess hall, the crew quarters, all of them looked accomodating, slightly biggger than the last ones, and they were now headed to the bridge and hopefully the med bay. ""When are we gonna get there?" Trini mumbled under her breath. Van nodded in agreement, hoping that the two of them would get a look around the medical bay before they departed. "Trini! Van!" Allen called back to them as they finished up their conversation. The two of them moved up to the front of the group with him. "There you two go, through those double doors, the rest of us are going ahead." Allen finished getting ready to leave with the rest of the group. "Have fun, you have 20 minutes." Gavin
Van's eyes adjusted as the lighting level rose in his new Sick Bay, his thoughts drifted back to the Bladerunner when he had to perform emergency surgery on Satell. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before proceeding forward with Trini, one of the first things that he noticed was how heavy duty the Sick Bay was. To Van this meant one of only two things, either they were expected some very heavy casualties or the people running this show were being very, very cautious. He noted that Trini was also a little shaken by the new Sick Bay, obviously bringing up some bad memories, he wrapped his arm around he and brought her over to their desks. He noted that there were not two but four separate desks in the sick bay, one for Van, one for Trini and obviously there were two others to come. His slid his free hand over the wood veneer of his desk, it felt cold but familiar and Van began to breath a little easier. His eyes continued to scan the room, there was a lot of next generation equipment here and even a few prototypes that he knew didn't "officially" exist. He laughed noticing that they'd installed a hot beverage machine in the wall between the two sets of desks, Trini's eyes must have seen it at the same time because she gave a weakened chuckle. Van took out a pair of mugs as Trini got the machine ready for one cup of tea and a cup of coffee. Van: [Laughs softly]Well at least we're not going without necessities. Trini: [Smiles] Yeah battling Aliens is one thing but not having a regular supply of caffeine can't be accepted. Sipping away at his drink he saw Trini go to sit at her new desk, her hands breezed across the keys of her medical console before she nodded to Van that they should get back to Allen and Co. As they left Van slid his palm across the scanner to close the doors behind them, moving along through the endless white metallic corridors Van heard noise coming from the new Mess Hall. Entering the room they found the others sipping away at different drinks while Allen was holding some kind of introduction, Van nodded as he sat in his seat, if he was going to have to treat these people he at least wanted to know their names.
Annie
Ana entered the ship in awe. Her green eye slowly soaked up the interior. So much metal. So cold. So dark. This was going to be "home" for the next..who knew exactly how long. Her feet padded the metal grating, carefully. "Hm, these are definately disappearing," Ana groaned and kicked the brown high heels off. She leant over to pick them up and followed the others. They all gazed upon the entrails of the metallic, mechanical beast. Ana stopped abruptly, stumbling against a body. "Excuse me," Ana tilted her head slightly to the left to get a better view. "Oh, it's okay," a young girl smiled and blinked in confusion. Ana followed her stare to the floor of the ship, obviously staring at Ana's bare feet. "Don't your feet hurt?" the girl questioned as they ventured further. "No, actually, it feels quite nice on my aching feet. I hate high heels," Ana shook the shoes in her fists. "Then why wear them?" Sam's voice snuck from the darkness. "Because, I was in the middle of an important meeting. Anyhow," Ana turned back to the girl, "I am Luitenant General Ana Thomas." Ana held out her hand and smiled lightly, "But you can call me 'Ana'." "I am Doctor Steffanie Taylor Littleton," Steffanie took Ana's hand and shook it firmly, "But you can call me 'Steffanie'." "Pleased to meet you, Doctor...er, Steffanie," the two chuckled as they entered into a brightly lit corridor. Ana squinted, as did Steffanie. There were several heavy doors lining the corridor. Some specified what they led to, some were just there. Ana's eye darted up and down, finally settling on a door that read Mess Hall. The door gleamed, recently polished. Ana pressed a switch, activating they hydraulics. A slight pop sounded, followed by a gentle hiss as the doors opened. The room was large, not too large. Bright, but not too bright. Steel tables placed so perfectly, forming one giant rectangle. There were no chairs, no stools. Instead, on either side of the tables were benches. "I thought I left these back in junior high school," Steffanie huffed and walked around the room. Ana raised an eyebrow and made her way towards the kitchen area. It was small, and plain. She opened the double-doored refridgerator, met with a blast of freezing air. The contents were of the norm. However, due to modern day technology, all major meals were contained in capsules. There were several boxes of a great variety of meals. "Well, well. Digging for snacks already?" Ana closed the doors and turned to face the man. She walked to the end of the countertop, setting her shoes atop. "I didn't mean to startle you," he shuffled over into the kitchen and pulled out a stainless steel container from the depths of the refridgerator, "But, cold tea is at stake." The man walked back towards Ana, tossing the container up in the air and catching it mid-air. "Oh, don't worry. I noticed it's marked," Ana reached over his arm and pointed to the lid, "See, 'Don't touch, or else.' ." The man chuckled, "I guess Allen knows me more than I thought." Ana smirked and pulled her hand away, she turned her face to introduce herself properly, realizing how close they were. Her nose, no more than an inch away from his cheek. She jumped back slightly. "My apologies," Ana blushed and brushed her hair away from her lips. "You are forgiven," the man smiled softly. Ana nodded and looked at her shoes. She reached over and scooped them into her hands. "Well, I will be seeing you," Ana turned to walk away, waving lazily. "Van, Van Ambrose." "Ana Thomas."
Corey
Allen watched as the rest of his crew filtered in through the doors, watched the brief exchange between Van and Ana, not without the slightest tinge of jealosuy, and finally Avlen sauntering in and taking a seat near the back. He smiled. She had broken off from the group almost immediately and was rather pissed to be called back so soon. Allen- "Seats please. Take a seat." Everyone standing sat down and turned their heads toward him. He hopped off of the couner he had been sitting on and over to a small computer display. He punched in a few commands and walked back over to the group. "Two thing real quick. One, I hope you don't have anything still on the planet you wanted to bring, because the ion drives fire in two hours. Two, this is the briefing. Intros are first. I'm Captain Allen Chubbs. I am the leader of this little expedition, and, from this point on, the highest ranking officer on this ship." His eyes came to rest firmly on Ana. "No ones order is higher than mine. If you have a problem, leave." He looked over the crowd. No one moved. "Good. Van, stand up. This is Doctor Van Ambrose. He is the second officer of this mission. If I'm not around, his words are golden." Van sat back down and Allen motioned for the intros to continue. He knew he sounded a little harsh, but he had to. He wanted to live.
Hinata
As Van sat down, Trini looked over in his direction, he was only a few seats away but she didn't want to speak out loud bringing Allen's attention to here. 'What was that about?' she mouthed to Van. Who only shrugged his shoulders as he sat. She guessed, she wasn't the only one who had heard Allen's bluntness. She could only close her eyes for a moment and take a deep breathe as Allen paused in his introductions for a moment, taking a sip of his drink. "Now to the rest of the crew. Stand up introduce yourselves and lets be on with it." She opened her eyes to see no one standing to introduce themselves. She took the lead. Get it over and done with. She rolled her head on her shoulders, hearing the crackle of a few bones then stood up. "Trini Angelos." she waved and looked at everyone making sure they saw her face from whatever angle they were sitting in the mess hall. "I'm the medical assistant working with Dr. Ambrose, so...uh.. if you have any problems just come see one of us." She stopped mid sentence and was ready to site down when the rest of what she needed to say popped back in her head. "Oh yeah, if you have your medical forms ready and filled out I'll take those. If not then be prepared for a thorough.. and I mean thorough... physical." She took her seat only smiling to herself as the word thorough rolled off her tongue. Not that she really like poking and proding, but the reaction of a man with his pants down to his ankles, and her with a lubed glove, always gives her a bit of a smile.
Raiha
There was an uncomfortable silence. Then every head turned when the odd sound of hissing came to their ears. She could hear a few people whisper something like, "An anti-social chick in charge of communicating?!" "Avlen Who?" The questioned kept her face impassive and sank back ino her chair. DragonBlood
Again no one stood, 'You have to stand up sooner or later' Charles thought to himself and after a few more moments of waiting he stood. He tugged on his military jacket, something he did when he felt odd, he was used to his team mates already knowing him and he felt a bit out of place. "Charles Hendrix, with security." he looked around slightly, "Oh and Miss. Angelos, I'll have those medical forms for you pronto." He said jokeingly and yet very seriously. He gave an off handed half salute to the crew and sat back down, reaching for the small of his back to get at an itch, a task he failed to accomplish quickly. He looked around the room a bit; he had noticed that the crew was rather small for the ship, along with a few other less than normal aspects of the mission. All this running through his head made Charles wonder what all of it was for. Soon he slouched in his chair slightly. Despite his best efforts he had yet to rid himself of the itch. Annie
"Ana Thomas, Lt. General of Intelligence. I will prefer you just see me as Ana, a crew member, and that is how I expect to be addressed," Ana shrugged slightly and began to sit. "What happened to your left eye, Lt.," Sam blurted, almost inaudible. Ana shot an icy glare. The group fell silent and followed her dagger. "That is none of your concern, pilot,'' Ana spat, standing straight. The tension in the room was fierce, mostly from the red-head, Ana. Allen shifted slightly, he knew that subject was sensitive. That particular area of Ana's past cost her everything she lived for. "Say, let's move on, okay?" Van chuckled unsteadily. Ana nodded and sat down. She reached over and took her bottle of water. Sam sneered lightly. Ana focused her thoughts elsewhere, mainly about her place in the group. She felt somewhat singled out. The original crew were so close, they didn't have to say it, but anyone could sense their relationship. They went through so much together, they lost so many other crew members. And I only fueled the flame...Ana thought. Her face must have defied her intentions of letting anyone know she wasn't really paying attention. "Ana? You alright?" Allen tossed a paper cup at her, pegging her gently on the shoulder. "Huh..Oh, yes. Just thinking, that's all," Ana shook her head and placed the cup on the table. "Stop that, it gets you in trouble," Allen gave a firm, single nod. Ana lowered her gaze to her hands.
Baron Samedi
Jako was rather shocked and worried about the reactions of crewmates so far. Such tension, and the ship hadn't yet left the ground! Feeling the customary butterflies that always signify nervousness, Jako stood up, and looked around at the other people seated around the rom. "I'm Jako van der Westheisen. And yes, I was involved in the Stanford Prison Experiment. Just to settle any rumours that may have sprung up. I will be the Liaison Officer with Control here on Earth. Any issues you have, come and see me. Depending on what they are, I can refer you to the Captain, or I may be able to work through them with you. Any misconduct, and you will be reported back to Base, and when we return, as we plan to do, appropriate action will take place. I will also be working in conjunction with Ms Littleton to address any issues you may be having." A male voice, indistinguishable however, called out "Hope you made sure he didn't bring any chemicals on board...I like my face how it is." Jako's lip curled as he sat back down. Some people weren't going to make this easy.
Radaghast
Sam was next to stand. "Hello everybody. My name's Sam Tiller. Sam to my friends," Sam looked at Lt. Ana "Pilot to others" and finally glanced at Allen "And 'damnit Sam, stop that right now' to very few." This comment left more than a few of the crew-members puzzled. This must have been a warning to Sam that no one had a sense of humor on this ship, save himself; and on a good day, the original crew. He sat down in silence. Too much had happened on the previous mission for any light-heartedness. Everyone knew the atrocities of the events on the Bladerunner. Most of them were likely wondering if they'd ever see their families again, or even step foot on earth. It's a shame that not many had before. As everyone was waiting for the next person to get over their juvenile shyness, Sam's gaze drifted the mission shrink. Steffanie Littleton was sent on this mission all because of Sam. This was written nowhere, but he knew. Not very many people came back from insanity in that short of time. When they do, there is something to worry about.
Raiha
She eyed the named so far, not angrily, simply watching. The people had baggage. But none perhaps, as much as Sam. He was unnerving. Had a look in his eyes that she detested. And she wouldn't even bother addressing him until emergency made it necesary. Ana Thomas. Intelligence. .....she liked her eye. .....and she liked her brevity. ....... .....but she didn't like the say she interracted with Sam. Weakness. Or something worse. If there was something worse though, she couldn't think of what it was. But her abruptness and her easy way of being annoyed wouldn't get her very far. Van Ambrose. He was something. ...something interesting. She had read all his files, noticed his age and appearance. But she found it impossible to think of him in any way other than doctor. Nothing more. ....and his assistant Trini had both been on the earlier mission. And it showed. Trini had been saved by the last Communications specialist. She wondered if anyone cared about how her position had been taken by a newcomer. .......an anti-social newcomer whose name nobody would remember. She liked Jako. And she couldn't figure out why. Maybe because while everyone around him resembled cast iron fences, he was something akin to marzipan. The head shrinker and that Charles figure...both made her skin crawl and her sanity depart. She'd rather make small talk with Sam than exchange words with either one of them. ...although, small talk with Sam had a certain.....adrenaline to it. Something she'd like. Captain Chubbs was someone she could easily respect. Easily go out on a limb for. He took charge, he didn't stand much nonsense, and he obviously knew what was what. ...she hoped he wouldn't notice her appreciation. And her lack of interest in socializing. Although, she sensed that on this mission, socializing would be about as nourishing as cardboard.
Skye
Steffanie sat on the bench, cross-legged. She had her chin cupped in her hand, and she watched everyone with a look of mild intrest. She found Sam?s eyes resting on her, and caught them briefly. A flicker of a smile caught her lips, and then she turned her head back to surveying those named. Steffanie noticed Sam seemed to? what was the word? Despise her? Maybe. Avlen caught her attention next. She seemed quiet, and her gaze didn?t linger on the main shrink. Hmm? I wonder. She shrugged off the thought. Her eyes skipped over the un-named people, to Jako. They caught each others eye, and she nodded slightly, with a smile. Jako looked slightly startled, but returned the smile, even if it was slightly hesitant. Steffanie liked Ana. Blunt, yes, but true. So she seemed to have an attitude control problem, but Steffanie didn?t mind. She was to the point, and looked like she could keep her head in a stressful situation. And the last thing the doctor thought about was her eye. With a slight air of indifference that her eyes betrayed, Steffanie looked about at the unnamed people.
Gavin
Van eyes darted from one member of the crew to the next, Sam's "outburst" has made the air a little thicker but what they were going into made this seem like a friendly chat. Jako, he'd read up enough on this fellow to make it a worthwhile endeavour to keep an eye on him, if he even looked at Van's medical supplies the wrong way he'd be taking a trip out of an airlock without a suit. Allen had given him a slight introduction but he felt as if he needed to enlighten some of the newcomers on why he was second in command. Van: Well as Allen has pointed out, I am Van Ambrose the Chief Medical Officer of this ship. [Turns to Yako and Steffanie] Miss Littleton and Mr Van der Westheisen you will be reporting directly to myself or my assistant Miss Angelo for the duration this mission. As Allen has pointed out, he is the ranking officer on this mission and as such there will be no pulling rank except by himself or I. [Looks to Miss Thomas and Mr Hendrix] And as I hold the rank of General I believe we are all clear on that as of this moment. Van sat back down with a fierce look in his eyes, he wouldn't take any chances, not this time, this time they were coming home with a full crew and plenty of survivors from Deimos. He rubbed one hand through his hair while staring down at the table, a habit he'd stopped doing just before the Bladerunner mission, when he got back from this one he was looking to settle in to some long R&R without a care in the world. Trini placed her hand on his back as he did this and he looked up at her, she was a beautiful woman, he wondered why he'd never seen it before though he soon realised it was because of the age difference between them. Allen and Satell had become very close in the last mission, he wondered if it would happen between himself and Trini this time... Allen coughed and broke Van's chain of thought before he continued on with what he was talking about.
DragonBlood
Charles noticed Vans warning look, he had never even thought of pulling rank on some one in his own missions, much less one he wasn't in charge of. He simply looked around the room, waiting for the introductions to end so they could talk about the mission,'You're rushing it Charles, it'll come when it comes.' He though to himself as he started drumming his fingers in the air, a small gesture, a silly thing he did when he was on edge. He couldn't put his finger on it, but he had a bad felling, something about the way the members of the original mission stood maybe, or something in there voices? He tried to shrug off the thoughts, but they still itched at the back of his mind.
Hinata
Trini looked over to Allen as Van cam back to reality. His mind slipping off somewhere. She had never seen him do that before and placed her hand there as concern for him. "You okay," she whispered to him. His eyes briefly locked on hers. He only nodded and turned back to Allen who now stood up once again ready to speak. She knew what was coming up. A mission briefing, the last thing she wanted to hear, because nothing he said was going to prepare them for what they were going to see. Death. Monsters. Ghosts. Whatever wanted to pop out.. popped out. She only held her head down for a brief moment and shook her head grabbing the cup of coffee in front of her before taking the rest of it down in one gulp. It stung her mouth a bit but she held the pain back. She only looked on as Allen walked over to a control panel, her arms now folded across her chest. A large screen came down in front of him. And he stood off to the side, beginning the mission briefing.
Corey
Jokopoko and Arika, I'm taking over your intros because I want to continue the RPG. Sorry you couldn't get here sooner. Just a note, I probably should have made this sooner, but none of your charachters know barely anything about this mission or the prior one. Basics, that's it. ??? Marcus- "I'm Marcus Treming, Ummm... Science officer." He sat down with a bit of a red face, glad to get that over with quickly and painlessly. More important, no one associated him with his fathers corporation, or at least didn't say anything. Gabriella stood next, her posture straigh and her eyes slitted. Gabriella- "Gabriella MacGuire. Security. Mr. Hendrix and I will be working together to keep you people safe." She sat with a glance around the room, trying to meet the eyes of everyone. Allen- "Good. Everyone has been introduced. We're all aquainted, more or less. Let's begin." Allen walked over to a control panel and pressed a quick series of buttons. A small transparent viewscreen decended from the ceiling and stopped about a foot off of the tabletop. It lit up with the standard aqua blue of the computer system. "Computer, begin briefing. Start program." The screen faded to black and a small white line began blinking on and off in the upper left. "What you are about to hear and see has been classified as code Black by the InterPlanetray Commonwealth Federation (IPCF)." The line spewed out the transmission recieved by the Sable from Deimos colony. "The message, dispite being ran through a series of filters has been unable to be reconstructed completely. We gather that they're under attack from possibly their own people.' The screen switched from the message to the abnormal Bioscans of the Event Horzion catalogued by the Lewis and Clark, and the Bioscans of the Deimos Colonies. "As you can see, the readings are almost identical. The only differance is that on the colonies, there are areas unaffected. The most prominant areas are the churches. They remain completely untouched by the... 'infection' you could call it. Other areas are also unaffected but no one can tell quite why." The screen shifted again to a topographical display of the colonies and their general orientation on Deimos. "The docking bay is still operational, and that's where we're headed. There is a shaft," the shaft was highlighted onscreen, "that connects the two colonies. It's still operational and remains largely unaffected. Colony 01 is where we're starting. We will search there first, and continue to 02 when we're finished." The screen shifted again to the insignia of the Navy NextGen SEALS. "We will be accompanied by the best of the NG SEALS. NG Corbin leads them. His designation is NG One. His team of seven is given corresponding number designations. They take orders only from me." He noticed Hendrix's sour face, being denied his own team and having to put up with the NG SEALS. The screen changed again to a picture of Mars. "I know you all might be expecting a quick little search and rescue, and you might be questioning the necessity of such personell as psychiatrists and the excess of doctors. Believe me, we will need it." Allen looked down at his hands. They were shaking slightly. He shoved them into his pockets. "On the first Event Horizon mission the crew piloted a ship that had been fitted with a unique engine. It harnessed the power of a manmade black hole to rip space and travel instantaniously from one pont in the universe to another. Unfortunately Dr. William Weir, the creator of the Event Horizon, could not have possibly imagined what the enigne was capable of. What was made public was that the Event Horizon had gotten to safe distance and engaged its engine. It then went critical and destroyed the ship. That was not true. What actually happened," Allen paused and took a breath, "was that the Gravity Drive, as Weir called it, tore a hole through our dimension and into another." He watched the faces of several of the new crew be covered with disbelief. "The dimenson was one of pure chaos and destruction. Hell, if you will. The ship returned a living being. The Lewis and Clark was dispatched to salvage the ship when it reappeared. The Lewis and Clark was destroyed and the front section of the Event Horizon returned with the remaining crew. Out of the eight crewmembers, three returned, and only one with his sanity at least pertially intact. Their reports of the mission were labeled as the insane ravings of minds under extreme pressure. The engine section returned to the hell dimension. When the Lewis and Clarks blackbox returned to earth, the reports of the 'insane' crew members were taken a bit more seriously when the information stored in the bb colaborated some of it." Allen looked over the room. Sam, Trini, and Van were all looking down. The others seemed to be paying some sort of attention. "It reappeared a few months ago and that's when my prior crew and I were sent to investigate it, again. It reappeared whole, the front section dissapearing from earth and reappearing re-attatched to the ship near Neptune. Before we even got there one crew member was killed and my ship had been damaged several times over. None of them were accidents. The Event Horizon sensed us and began reacting even before we docked. When we did dock, the reactions got steadily worse resulting in the eventual possesion of a crew member, the destruction of the Event Horizon, the deaths of several more of my crew, the infestation of my ship by creatures from the dimension, and the destruction of my ship." Allen looked around with somber eyes and a slight shake in his voice as his mind whirrled through the memories. "Only the four of us survived." He pointed at himself and the other three. "I don't expect to face anything less than hell itself on this mission. None of you should either." The viewscreen retracted. "Any questions?"
