Next Year's Movies

I know we don't know much yet, but so far I've heard of three movies scheduled for release sometime next year:

1: Mission: Impossible 3. The first two were great, and I have no reason to suspect a lesser quality from the third.

2: Star Wars: Episode 3. My brother actually knows the day this movie is supposed to come out (May 5th). He probably knows some of what's going to happen (he's a Star Wars nut), but I don't. Should be good, though. None of the Star Wars movies have been bad, though the new ones aren't quite as good as the old ones in my oppinion,

And, of the three movies of next year I know of, the third is by far the one I'm looking forward to the most.

3: Metroid. Last I heard, John Woo is producing, and hasn't decided if he'll direct (though that info's not exactly new. He might have made his decision by now). And unlike MI3 and Episode 3, it's not known (at least not by me) who'll be in the Metroid movie. I don't know who the characters will be (although I wouldn't be surprised if Adam Malkovitch shows up in the movie), the only one that's definate being Samus Aran. As for who should play her, most people I've asked say Uma Therman should, but I think Kirstanna Loken (you might not have heard of her. She was the T-X in Terminator 3) would also be a good pick.

Well, that's all I know, and some stuff that't not fact but oppinion. Which of those movies are you looking forward to the most, and why? Is there any more information anyone has (especially for Metroid)? And are there any other movies coming out next year that you know of?

out of those three movies, I say that I'm looking forward to Star Wars and Metroid.

my family usually likes the starwars movies, so it doesn't surprise me that I want to see it, and if most of my cousins want to see it as well.

now, my cousin will be wanting to go see metroid (all he does is play games) because I remember the Final Fantasy movie came out he went to see it. (i think we both liked it enough to see it about 4 more times and recomend to our buddies who probably have never heard of Final Fantasy; tho the movie didn't get great reviews because i think they didn't like it because it was too much like a game etc.)
but, I know that most of the guys in my school (who play games) know what metroid is, and might be willing to see the movie.

sorry, i don't know about any other movies coming out next year

I've just learned of another movie that is scheduled for release next year. One that, for me, beats even Metroid as the most anticipated release of next year. Apparently, Fox 2000 (or whatever they're actually called. I don't know the exact name) has the rights to create a movie based on the very excellent book Eragon, by Christopher Paolini. I'm already going nuts waiting for the sequal, Eldest, and I suspect that I'll go equally nuts waiting for the Eragon movie.

Ooo... Eragon? I read that book. Most excellent :^D I thought they'd make that into a movie.

As for what I've heard for next year, there are to be, of course, Star Wars Episode 3, Austin Powers 4 (if not this year), *King Kong, and some other movie I can't recall :( Weee!

*"King Kong" is being made by Peter Jackson (the director of LOTR) and if it doesn't come out at the end of this year, it will be next year. I expect good things from this man, even if it is King Kong =/

EDIT: Uma Thurman does seem like the one for the part, but for some reason I still don't know. Maybe she just doesn't look Samus Arany XD Or doesn't have the right build. Me not know :<

A fourth Austin Powers movie? Are you sure? Seems to me like they kind of closed off that possibility in the way they ended the third.

As for Uma Thurman, well, how often is Samus out of her Power Suit? Build doesn't matter as much for the role of Samus.

i'm not so sure about King Kong, but I'll probably see it just because I've never seen the original.

Well as one of the Star Wars nutters here on OB I'm definitely looking forward to Episode Three, this gets to be the one which will redeem the New Trilogy or be the one which shows the New Trilogy was a bad idea in the first place. There are some interesting character appearances in Episode Three which is on one of the pages of the Star Wars 411 here on OB.

Mission Impossible III is an interesting one, I though MI:2 was better than the first one by a long margin, the first one just seemed too cliché and Tom Cruise was very wooden. I've no idea what the third one is based on but if it ups the level of quality as seen from MI:1 to MI:2 it'll be a film well worth going to see.

Metroid is also an interesting one, though I wouldn't be the biggest fan of videogame conversions at they have a tendency to be, how do I put this... crap. I think that Uma would be a perfect choice for the role as she has the exact build of Miss Aran, the whole body-shape really doesn't matter as Samus is in a power-suit most of the time.

Austin Powers 4 As much as I liked the series, well the first two. I think the AP series has run it's course as there's been no real improvement to it since AP: 2. Incidently I heard the series was to end at AP3 as Miers was no longer interested in playing the role.

Well there's my thoughts.

A little note about Metroid: The company that John Woo works for has merely gained the rights to negotiate with Nintendo of America to make Metroid into a movie. Production hasn't started, nor has it even been officially decided yet. At the moment, it's simply in limbo.

So, it isn't a sure thing that we'll get a Metroid movie, let alone next year, but it has a reasonable chance of happening. We'll just have to wait and see.

I read Eragon, and I had no idea that they were making a movie for it. It's a very good book, so I can't wait to see it. I'm not a Star Wars fan, but I will be wanting to see the third episode. I'll also want to see Metroid, but not Mission Impossible 3.

If John Woo is making the Metroid movie, then I'm sure it will be quite good. I can't wait.

I can't wait to see that third Star Wars movie ^_^

But I have another newcomer in the movieworld. They're going to make a movie of the first book from Artemis Fowl. I don't know much about it, only that it's release was panned 2005. If you want to know more, then I suggest you go to:
