Okay so if you were to name three albums that you have by any band artistthat completly changed your life or your attitude to it then what would they be and why?

my three are:

Biohazard: urban discipline,

this is the4 most important to me and taught me more lessons in life than any member of family or my friends did,
it helped me to cope with loss about facing my troubles head on and leaning to make the best of what youve got.

pearl jam: ten
really uplifting music that can help you deal with anything life throws at you,

Alice in chains; taught me creativity using feeling and emotion good or bad to bild something beautiful

dont lock this one out ill be angry if you do...

I don't know. In 1999, hitomi's "thermo plastic" dropped. I'm a huge hitomi fan, so I was so excited, and it's probably one of my top five favorite albums of all time. It's an album that I just can't get tired of. I've probably listened to Gamble, Bird, and MADE TO BE IN LOVE over 1,000,000 times and I'm not even exaggerating. The songs on this album at the time were so fresh to me and had such a stylish edge.

I love hitomi's lyrics, although they didn't really change my life. What did change my life was her voice. It's so nasal, and even though she has a nice vibrato, her voice is a technical mess. That's what I love about her and what inspired me to pursue my own dreams as an "offbeat idol" of some nature. She also had a PV for taionn, which appeared on this album and drove me crazy, and probably made me more aware of my own image. The way she looked into the camera made me want to be a slut. Or something.

I also liked Nevermind by Nirvana when it came out oh by the way if want to hear sad music listen to alice in chains,
heres a few quotes to give you an idea,

"whats my drug of choice?,
well what have you got?"
from "junkhead"

or

" I have never felt such frustration or lack of self control,
I want you to kill me and dig me under i wanna live no more"

continued:

"I want to taste dirty, the stinging pistol, in my mouth, on my tongue,
I want you to scrape me, from the walls, and go crazy like you made me"

If there was no alice in chains there would be no deftones, no korn, no Black album by metallica, no evanecense ( I cant spell it) no downtuning,
and layne stayley is easily the best heavy metal singer ever.

I'm gonna go with the following:

Linkin Park, Hybrid Theory: This album was the one that really got me into Nu-Metal and hardcore rock.

Evanessence, Fallen: They're music enchants me and Amy Lee's voice is melodic. The lyrics are amazing and I can relate to a few songs.

Slipknot, Vol. 3 - The Subliminal Verses: I listen to this album whenver I'm angry and it keeps me from doing things I shouldn't.

Albums don't really change my life or anything, but like The Nameless, Hybrid Theory was more likely the one that brought me to more modern rock. I always listened classics ^_^
Evanescence- Fallen, is really one of my favourites aswell, but I really got to listen to it because I heard Mother Earth from Within Temptation, although I dont own it myself lol.
Further more, Paul Simon's 'National Guitar', got me listening to Paul Simon and its such cool music lol.
Thats practically it. I don't own very much CD's of different artists so eh.. I can't think of any other...
Evanescence:"Fallen"

it's just so sad, and it has great music. "My Immortal" reminds me of something in the anime TRIGUN. And, well, thats about it. So deep. Unlike Britany Whats-Her-Name. Am I right?
Guess I am, Brittany Whats-Her-Name, is Brittany Spears.

No Doubt-Tragic Kindom

This album helped me a bit through tough times during my Freshman year of high school. Specifically, the song, "Don't Speak" helped me realize things the most, and helped me identify the problem that was going on during that time. My best friend were having some arguments and I was really depressed that year. The lyrics described my friend and I perfectly. All in all, it also reminded me of the good times, and the bad times.

Rammstein-Mutter

This German album helped me calm down a bit when I was angry or depressed. When I was angry, I mostly listened to the song, "Sonne." When I was depressed, I listened to the song "Mein Hast Brient." The album is very great and it helps me to calm down.

Linkin Park-Live in Texas

This is ultimately the best album for me....ever! It changed me in so many ways. It helped me to become a stronger person, and helped me to have more self esteem. (something I lack a lot of) It helped me to forget about my troubles, and it helped me feel better about myself. It also gets rid of all of that unwanted stress from the day.

3 Doors Down-Away from the Sun: During Basic Training, I heard 'Here Without You' at least 30 times....it was one of four songs I heard during that time (Including 'Die MF Die' by Dope, 'Are You Ready' by Creed and 'The Angry American' by Toby Keith....), so I bought the CD to remind me of the few good times I had

Linkin Park-Hybrid Theory: Best. CD. Ever.....for anyone that knew me before January, you know I was (and still am) a rabid Linkin Park Fan....Even had a Fan Club on the site (Thanks for keeping it up Shin.....)

Incubus-Any CD-Introduced me to the Funk-Rock Craze (especially S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and A Certain Shade of Green)

Linkin Park-Hybrid Theory no doubt.

I remember getting it kind of close to its relase date, maybe a week or two after, and man was I in love. I listened to it all the time while playing Starcraft. IT is all I would listen to for months.

Cold-Year of the Spider

Wow is all I can say for this one. I just love it, from the first track to the last. Granted I got it a little while, more like a long while, after it first came out, I picked it up one day at Best Buy when my friend and I went at 8 in the morning, staying up all night. Popped it in and just fell in love. For weeks, hell possibly months, it is all friends and I would listen to when we were out and about driving, which was 98% of the time. Sooo many memories to this CD, I have to love it.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack

What can I say, I just love the CD. Even better bands on this one, like Cold...Lacuna Coil.....The Cure. I love it. Besides, I love Resident Evil, everything mind you, even if it does suck, lol.

JFC man, you sound almost exactly like this friend of mine. Hmmmm, your b-day is the same too. Did you by any chance move to Georgia in the last couple months? If so, hellooooooooooo Matty!! And if not, this must all sound odd to you. (The chances are actually pretty good, since I know this friend used to go on these boards)

Anyhow, 3 CDs that changed my life? Lemme think...

1. LP: Hybrid Theory - this seems to be a popular choice, but if it wasn't for this CD, I would probably still be a C+ average student. Music has proven to help me study, and this CD was where it all began. And believe me, getting good grades was the best thing that ever happened to me.

2. Green Day: Dookie - Green Day has been my favorite band since this album was released. This was probably one of the first CDs I ever bought, and it has shaped my taste in music ever since. For me, some bands just seem cool for a while, but I grow out of them. Green Day, however, will be with me for all time.

3. Evanescence: Fallen - I cried during "My Immortal" nuff said.

Woah man, woah man. Yeah I did....-_- what up yo!

Oh and I have another, Switchfoot. Not mainly a full CD, but really just two songs. Meant to Live and Dare you to Move. I love em. Listened to them in the car so many times, again, fond memories associated with this song.

lol, I know it's not like I haven't talked to you in a while, but I didn't think you were still posting here :D (I'm assuming you know who this is, since I'm using the same name I use on CS with you)

Many, many fun memories about cruising in your car. Just wish we could have relived them when you visited this summer.

Even though I haven't listened to the CD a lot outside of your car, Cold's CD definitely holds a special place in my heart. Mostly for reasons I would rather leave undiscussed on these boards, but you know what I'm talking about .

i don't think any album has changed my life but my three faviorites are:

midian,by cradle of filth: it's the best album cradle have ever made (but there new album nymphmentine is getting good reviews).

death cult armageddon, by dimmu borgir (dim-moo, bor-gear):it's a classic album and one of the finest with a cover of "satan my master" original done by emperor.

prepareing for war,by dark throne: it's a sort of "best of album" which all tracks dating back to the bands demos, a great band that have stood the test of time (they've been around since the 1980's)

Ahh yes, better keep those on the low down, heh.

I know it says three, but I just have SOO many albums that are important to me.

Ill Nino-Confession

Oh my God. I love it. When it Cuts is a song that I just love. LOTS of crazy and fun times when I listened to this all the time. A christmas break that will be remembered by all who lived it last year, greatest time of my life. Numb. Ahhhh man! I love it. Might as well just say the whole damn CD! I love Ill Nino. Again, it holds special place in my heart, and I am sure to some of my friends back home.

Like most teens music helps me chill out and cope with crap that goes on in my house.

Bittersuits to Succubi by the Cradle of Filth, this is what broke me into them after seeing the video for Babaln AD on Fuse on night. i borrowed it from a friend then got acopy burned from it.
Dimmu Borgir's Deathcult Armegedon. This is the coolest album ever. I'll listen to Progenies of the Great Apocolypse for hours on end then go to the other dick and listne to the orchestral version. and the the Twisted Sister Cover, cause Twisted Sister's the bomb.
And finally: System Of A Down's Steal this Album! This album is what i listened to when i was stuck at my granma's house for the entire christmas break. I read both of my Robotech books while listenign to it. If i hear Innervison i see the dogfights that i saw in my mind, with Roulettte i se the people runnign for their lives when SDF-1 changes for the first time.
It's things like that, that make you appreciate music all that much more. When you can get an image from somethign you enjoyed doing when you were screwed out of enjoyment.

Metallica - ...And Justice For All
This album really did it for me, the guitar solo's kept me sane through times of depression. But never listen to 'One' from that album if your depressed. Its about a landmine blowing off all your limbs and wanting to kill yourself. So a no-no if your depressed.

Rammstein - Mutter
This album kept me from going depressed with 4 songs. Mein Herz Brent, Sonne, Feuer Frei and Zwitter. All an up-beat tempo, making yourself feel really good. There anthems were something else when it came to it. They were really a new generation of metal.

The Beatles: Revolver

The music is wonderful, the lyrics are better. "Tommorow Never Knows" is one of the most relaxing songs ever. Don't just listen to the lyrics, you can actually feel the lyrics. "Taxman", "Elenor Rigby", "Yellow Submarine" and "Got to Get You Into My Life" all make me feel good.

The Beatles: "Rubber Soul"
Helped me cope after a 2 1/2 year relasionship with the girl of my dreams was broken. "Girl", "Michelle", and "In My Life" reminded me of the good times I had with her.

The Beatles: "The Beatles (The White Album)"

The four lads from Liverpool have to be the best songwriters, period.

The catchy, uplifting jingles of "Birhtday", "Back in the U.S.S.R.", "Obla-Di, Obla-Da", and "Everbody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey" contrast the darker, more story-focused songs like "Rocky Raccoon", "Julia", "Yer Blues", and my favorite "Happiness is a Warm Gun".

Though Ringo Starr and George Harrison had smaller selections, the songs aren't to be missed. George's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Long Long Long", and "Savoy Truffle" are lyrical rollercoasters. But unfourtunatly, Ringo's only song "Don't Pass Me By", is, in my opinion, Ringo's best song. I wish more of his songs were on the White Album. Oh well, what are you gonna do, eh?

I guess this album influenced me with the songs. I don't relate to them, nor did they help me through anything, it just this was a big musical punch in the face, and I was knocked flat out. :p

I wouldn't say the album changed my life or anything that drastic, but they are pretty awesome and timeless in my oppinion.

1. The Queen is Dead by The Smiths

Anyone who proffesses to know me knows that I am a die hard fan of The Smiths and Morrissey. This album was the one that started it all though, in particular song number two, Frankly Mr.Shankly which was what turned me on to the CD in the first place, it's just such a fun song. This album seriously was what kept my doors open to music that wasn't considered popular by my peers. I'm proud to say that at the tender age of seven I was jamming my heart out to this CD, singing "And if a ten ton truck kills the both of us, to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die," and thouroughly enjoying the funny looks.

2. Vasos Vacios by Los Fabulos Cadillacs

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs are an Argentinian rock/ska-ish band and this CD is the first CD I ever purchased. My sister owned a copy that was severely damaged in one way or another. That Christmas I got a $25 gift certificate and bought this CD and played it over and over and over, I wore that thing out. It just possessed so much political savvy, made me give a **** about things that weren't even happening in the United States, much less ever heard of here, and pushed me to research things and find out. The music would have been great without the research, but once I knew what Vicentico was singing about, it just added that much more depth. Plus, it has a good dance beat.

And that's all I can think of right now. Awesome stuff.

To be entirely honest, nothing really changed my life. However, there were a few albums that I hold dear to my heart;

Thanks for the Ether [by Rasputina], Golden age of Grotesque [by Marilyn Manson], and most importantly; Clear Hearts, Grey Flowers [By Jack Off Jill]. All of them because they directed my taste in music to a completely new direction. The first was Jack Off Jill. I don't remember how I got into it, but I remember scouring the music shops in my town for it. I finally found it in the Gold Coast one christmas time and bought it on the spot, completely unheard. I'd seen the lyrics but hadn't actually heard it, and when I got to listen to it, I loved it. After that, I heard about Rasputina -- but was, unfortunately, unable to get my hands on it -- and then when I met Semjaza, I was recommended to Golden age of Grotesque and again bought it...hearing unlistened? I think that's been the best thing because I didn't have a chance to form my own opinion before buying the album, so I was going into the music with an open mind. My friend finally found Rasputina in a store and bought it. And I've been converted since.

So those are my top three, if you want, heh. *nods*

Only one changed my life, and I thank god for it, too. Without it, I'd still be a Hip Hop and Rap lover (It makes me shudder just thinking about it.)

One, by the Beatles, my saviors. It's a 27 track cd with all of the Beatles singles. Not Number One hits, though, because if they did one of those the CD would be too long.

My dad got me One in 2001, a bold move considering back then I still like Rap and all of that crap. George Harrison, the lead guitarist for the Beatles, died that year of cancer, and now I feel terrible that I didnt like them before that, so I didn't care the he died, it was basically "Oh, another old guy died. Huh. Sad."

Now, after I have a huge collection of Beatles CD's, the One album is nowhere near my favorite, but I still owe it everything for getting me hooked on the Beatles.

Exactly! See how many people were influenced by the Beatles?!

I also for got Axis: Bold as Love by the one, the only, Jimi Hendrix Experience. If this album has the best backwards guitar ever. The lyrics are the best the Experience has put out, and I think Noel Redding (bass player :) ) sings on one of the tracks.

Anywho, I was impressed by Jimi's vocals, by far his best. It suprised me, because he was so self-consious of his vocals. He had people put a black sheet over the recording booth so nobody could see him.
