Sakura
OOC: I'll try to keep active, a bit busy coz I got lots of school work to do, coming to end of year kinda, ya know. I dunno how you want your characters to act so... Mizuya, otherwise known as Mizu had spotted a pair of figures ahead. She stood in her Therosaon form and her furry ears twitched as a slight breeze blew past. As Mizu got closer, she realised it was Anzunden, the elemental spirit of fire in his human form, and Rakaloma an illusionist. Mizu ran up to them. "Hi." she said cheerfully. "Not fighting again are ya?" she asked. "About time Mizu." Anzunden greeted. "Hey! That's not nice." she pouted. "Hello Mizu." Rakaloma said more tamely. "Hi! So who else is coming? And what were you guys arguing about? I could hear ya from down there." she said pointing. "But that might be because of my ears..." Mizu rambled. Anzunden and Rakaloma rolled their eyes as Mizu continued to blabber on about nothing.
foreverinfinity
Henna was In the town of Vanduo when she overheard two people talking about something that she wanted to know more about. They stopped arguing as they noticed her walking up to them. "Hello! My name is Henna. I heard you arguing about the being, or beings that have been appearing lately. How much do you know about them?" "Only that they never look the same and sometimes they heal and do good and sometimes they wreak havoc. And two are never seen at the same time," said the woman. The man quickly added, "One is supposed to be appearing today, so unless your prepared for possible mayhem, you may want to leave." "Actually, I am prepared. I was summoned here by the city to help out in case a being in a bad mood appears. I happen to be a healer and an illusionist, and a person with a hypothesis on why these beings look different every time. I think it is the work of a group of very skilled illusionists and a mage with offensive and healing magic working together to acheive..... something. I havn't quite figured out what yet. By the way, you havn't told me your names yet." The two people stared at her blankly for a second, then introduced themselves. Anzuden was just about to ask more about her hypothesis when they were nearly run into by someone apparantly very exited about the subject of the beings. Revelation
OOC: I finished my sign-up and I edited a few things, as well as the things that you asked me to edit. ---------------------------------- Sitting atop a tree far from where the others were, Arachne could feel their presence. Rakaloma, Mizu, and Anzunden were together with one other. With a smirk, Arachne transported herself through the shadows and could feel their presence becoming greater and stronger. She had seen the 4 figures and stopped right above them, standing on the branch of a tree. Arachne regained her human form and she looked down to the Raslomaon, Therosaon, and 2 humans. With a smirk and a slight giggle, Arachne's form disappeared and nothing stood where she last was. The giggle was heard and Anzunden and Mizu looked directly to where Arachne stood, whereas the human and Rakaloma looked around. Chuckling, Anzunden sent a small ember towards Arachne, who was still in her human form. Gasping, Arachne leapt down from the branch and stood in front of the four. Glaring at Anzunden, she crossed her arms and could feel the shadows drifting and moving. "Glad to see you again, Arachne." "Likewise, Anzu. Mizu, Rakaloma. Glad to see that the two of you are still living." There was slight comic in her voice. Stifling laughter came from Mizu, yet Rakaloma stayed as unexpressive as ever. "Yes. I am glad as well." Looking around, Arachne saw that the human was quite baffled at Arachne. It seemed that the 4 were conversating about a topic and that Arachne interrupted. She could feel it because of the fact that Arachne is somewhat of an empath. Smirking, Arachne apoligized. "It seems that I must have interrupted an important conversation. I apologize for my terrible behaviour. You see, rarely do I ever see my "great friends" and with the chances that I get, I take the time to have fun." Another smirk came across her face. "But, alas, you are here. So, therefore, I must keep all seriousness within me and come across as a kind being. Again, I apologize. And, you did not mention your name, Henna is it?" Confusion was written across her face, as was a bit of fright. The mere image of Arachne seemed to send a bit of fright. Henna stood still and tried to look as comfortable with the others as much as possible, but it was no use. Mizu and Rakaloma glared at Arachne, while Anzunden chuckled lightly. "Arachne, apologize. It's rude to probe through others' minds, remember?" "Oh, alright! I apologize, once again, for my horrid behaviour. As you heard, I am Arachne."
GuyYouMetOnline
Rakaloma chuckled. "Obviously you're not very serious about figuring out what these beings-or being, though I think Anzunden's nuts for believing that there's only one-are, Henna. If you were, you'd know that the illusion theroy was pretty much the first theroy that poeple came up with, and the most quickly disprooved." "And just how was it disprooved?" Henna asked. "By my kind," Rakaloma replied. "You probably know that all Raslomaon possess an additional visual ability, a 'second sight', as most humans call it. About a third of us can see heat. I'm in that third, by the way. Anyways, all living things give off heat. Illusions don't. Not even Raslomaon with infrared vision have ever managed to create the illusion of heat. "The beings-or being, if you believe that, meaning you've lost all sanity-give off heat. That's been verified by too many individuals to keep track of. I actually saw one once, so I can verify it. The beings give off heat, and therefore are not illusions. Don't ask me what they are, though, because I can't tell you. I don't know what they are. Nobody knows except the beings themselves." "And I want to be the one who figures it out," Anzunded said. "Of course, I don't mind help. Anyone else here have any ideas?
Cambrian_Explosion
Kylajn just passed into the port city of Vanduo, since he heard that the being was supposed to show up there. He decided to tunnel his way there; it was faster and more direct, safer, although dirty, and he could get in without being seen. No real need, but if he showed up and the being was feeling destructive, he could give people an alternate route to safety. Kylajn paused, and allowed himself to feel for other mages. He picked up on a group of five, three of his own kind, a human and a Raslomaon. Let's see what the party's for, Kylajn thought, though the answer was obvious. He continued toward the group. ------------------------------------------------- "And I want to be the one who figures it out," Anzunden said. "Of course, I don't mind help. Anyone else here have any ideas?" Just then, Mizu's sharp ears picked up a faint rumbling sound coming from the left of the group, steadily getting louder. She asked the rest to be quiet for the moment, and listened intently. The sound got closer and closer until everyone else heard it, then it paused a moment. Everyone fully expected to come face-to-face with the predicted being. The ground opened up and out of the hole stepped a filthy Therosaon. At least that's what he looked like. Rakaloma saw with her infared vision that the heat signature was all wrong for a real Therosaon, it had to be a Kalmorian, and Arachne knew the feel of his essence. "Hey, a welcoming committee. I hope I don't have to make a speech or anything," Kylajn joked, smiling good-naturedly around. "Who or what are you?" Henna asked. "Oh, where are my manners," Kylajn said, while using his power over Earth to get the dirt out of his fur, "I am-" "Kylajn," Mizu finished for him, "A Kalmorian of Earth." Anzunden grinned, "I should have known. I may not be able to tell Therosaons apart by sight alone, but only Kylajn could make such an entrance." Arachne's lip curled in a quick half-smile. "Good to see you're still among the living Kylajn," she said. "Will you two stop with the 'Glad you're still alive,' thing?" Kylajn asked in mock anguish, "It makes me feel like I'm about to drop dead at any moment." But then the smile came back, "But it is nice to know that I'd be missed. By the way, who are you?" he asked the human female. "I am Henna, a healer and an illusionist," she replied, "Nice to meet you," and extended her hand. Kylajn gave it a firm shake, and said "Same here. Rakaloma, glad you're still alive." Rakaloma merely nodded in greeting. She thought that he took serious matters too lightly too often, and disapproved of it. "Mizu, I haven't seen you since you tried to drown me." Mizu opened her mouth in protest, but Henna beat her to it, "Mizu tried to what?" she asked incredulously. "When helping me cross a lake, I warned her I swim like a rock. She didn't believe me. She dropped me in the middle of a lake, and I had to tunnel from the bottom of the lake to dry land," Kylajn explained. "I said I was sorry!" Mizu exclaimed, a little hurt he'd hold a grudge over something like that. He never held grudges, though he had his share of arguements because he was so stubborn. "I don't hold it against you!" Kylajn said, "I would've done the same exact thing." "I'll keep that in mind," Henna muttered, sending Kylajn and Mizu into fits of suppressed laughter.
GuyYouMetOnline
"What was that?" Henna asked. "What was what?" Anzunden replied. 'I thought I saw someone peeking out of that house over there." Rakaloma turned and looked at the house. It was boarded up, but the boards that should have been over the door were on the ground in front of it. She shifted to infrared. "there are eight people in there," she said. "They're standing in two groups. there's a group of three, and a group of four. The eigth person just joined the group of three. He's their fourth, and a Raslomaon. Good pick. We tend to have better vision than the other races. "There are two humans, two Therosaon, two Raslomaon, and two Kalmorians. Each group has one of each race. I think I can guess the situation. The two Therosaon heard something. One of the Raslomaon was sent to take a look, and saw us. Obviously, neither of the Raslomaon have infrared vision capability. If one did, he-they're both male, I can tell. Don't know about the other races, though-would have been able to see our heat through the wall, like I can see theirs." "What are they doing?" Mizu asked. "Something illegal. In fact, that's one of the two reasons I'm here." "What two reasons are those?" Anzunden wanted to know. "Well, for those of you who don't know me, I'm basically a mercenary. Don't let that scare you, though. I normally only kill criminals, retrieve stolen goods, that sort of thing. I'm the law's merc. I do take odd jobs, though. Recently, I was hired to come here and learn what I could about the beings. I took the job, mainly because it gives me an excuse to try and figure them out. I'm curious about them myself. On my way here, I was hired for a second job. The man who hired me learned that his brother was going to be involved in a purchase of illegal material. The purchase was to take place here, in Vanduo, right before the being arrived. Everyone would be gone. This city's empty. Perfect for criminals. Those eight are the ones involved. One group's selling, the other is buying. And now they know we're here. My guess is, they'll try to get rid of us, just in case we saw something. The being that should be here any time now will be blamed for our deaths." Everyone was worried by that. 'What do we do/" Henna asked. "We stay right here, and act like we don't know they're there. When they come for us, I'll have a little surprise for them." --------------------------------------------------- OOC: Nobody else have the criminals attack, please. Vilearchangemon
Hyuga marched closer to the city of Vanduo, and his pace quickened. he hated the sun....he hated heat in general. The air was unsually dry, and that annoyed Hyuga even more. As he neared the city, he felt a ping of worry. Anzunden was near. He could feel it in the air. The heat around the city finally made sense. He disliked Anzunden, not because of who he was, but because he was the very essence of fire. In all truth, he was afraid of him. He keep moving though. If the rumors were true, he would need Hyuga's help. Hyuga walked through the barren town, and found no sign of his fellow Kalmorian, until he felt a wrap of heat, and looked to the center. Three humans, two Therosaons, and a Raslomaon( i believe that's right). He had found his fellow Kalmorians, he could fell it. He moved and prepared to face Anzunden, and hoped the incoming find with the Being would make him forget the heat.... ------ I hope this is okay for a first post. Tell me if you would like anything changed Takuya
GuyYouMetOnline
OOC: There are only three humans, two of which are actually Kalmorians. ------------------------------------------------------------ It was Arachne who spotted the newcomer. "Heads up, Anzunden. Hyuga's coming." "Hyuga?" Anzunden turned to look. "That's him, all right. We do not need him here." "Who's Hyuga?" Henna asked. "A Kalmorian of ice. He and I have met before. He doesn't like me very much." "Why not?" "Because of what I am. Let me ask you a question, Henna. What are the worst natural-" Rakaloma cut him off. "Let's be quick, shall we? We probably don't have much time before things start happening. Anzunden is a Kalmorian of the element fire. Many people see fire as a destructive force. It burns forests, burns houses, burns crops, etc. But fire is also helpful. We use it for heat and light, to cook food, Anzunden can extend the list beyond belief. His point is that fire isn't a bad thing." "Exactly," Anzunden agreed. "But Hyuga doesn't seem to realize that. He won't want to work with me, and that could be problematic if what Rakaloma said is true." "Which is why I'm not going to make him," Rakaloma said. "You'll have seperate jobs. His arrival does make things easier, though." "Then hopefully he'll stay." Anzunden stepped to the back of the group as Hyuga reached them. Kitty
OOC/EDIT: D*mn.. I thought I made a mistake. Well, fixed it Takuya... (I think) ----- Nekouk sat on a rooftop, listening to the groups' conversation about "beings". Interesting.... she thought to herself. She learned the names of them all and that the one named Rakaloma was a mercenary out at Vanduo for two missions. One that was also hers. She noticed that the one named "Mizu" would sneak glances at her every once in a while. She knows I'm here... "Well, time to say 'Hello'," Nekouk said quietly, jumping off of her "perch" on the roof. She landed quite gracefully, and immediatly walked over to the group outside. "Who are you?" Mizu asked, wanting to know her name. "Nekouk." "Well? What have you heard?" Anzunden asked, looking at Nekouk's ears. "Everything, really," she said calmly. "Do we know you?" asked Henna from behind Nekouk. "No. I wouldn't think so," she answered quickly. "Well then. What are you doing in the city of Vanduo?" asked Rakaloma. "Is this the last question?" The Raslomaon nodded. "I'm here for the being. You aren't the only one who has heard of them..." They all nodded as if they were approving Nekouk's answers. Just then, Hyuga approached and snickered as he and Anzunden's eyes met.
GuyYouMetOnline
OOC: Rakaloma's the mercenary, not Anzunden. ---------------------------------------------- Rakaloma noted Hyuga's arrival, then turned back to Nekuok. "Well, everyone here is going to get more than they bargained for, except for me." She explained the situation with the criminals, then turned to Nekuok again. "I've got a plan that sould end with all of us alive, but I need to know if you have any magical talent." "I do," the Therosaon told her. "I have offensive ability, specializing in wind and water." "Ability?" "17% below the average." "Not a lot, but it should be enough." "What're the criminals doing right now?" Anzunden asked her. "If you're worried that they're moving in on us right now, don't be. I've been watching them. I think they were argueing about the price or something like that for a while, and they just now compleated the purchace. Now they'll discuss what to do about us. They'll formulate their own plan, but with eight people talking about it, it should take them a while to come up with one, while I already have mine. When the time is right, I'll tell you what to do, and we'll do it. Until then, let's act natural, though I know how hard you'll probably find doing that to be. I'll provide help in the form of a question. Why are you all here? This city's probably going to be destroyed shortly, and we all know it. We all have reasons for being here, and I'm curious about what they are. Anyone willing to share their reasons"?
Cambrian_Explosion
Kylajn stepped forward, feeling he might as well start things off, nobody else was jumping at the chance. "I think I can sum up my reasons for being here in two words; the being. One, I've never seen it, I've only heard stories, and I want to see it first-hand. Two, I want to understand it; why it helps sometimes, destroying other times, and why and how it changes its form." "Wait a minute," Rakaloma interupted. "You think this is one being, not many? I suspected you were crazy, but this clinches it. You Kalmorians are the only life forms who can change their form, and you're limitted to one alternate form. There are at least nine distinct forms reported!" Uh oh, Arachne thought, Here it comes. "You're dismissing my thoughts as insanity?" Kylajn asked politely, all humor gone. "In that case, you're being very narrow-minded, Rakaloma." "Why do you say that?" Rakaloma asked. "Because you are making an assumption," Kylajn replied,"and when dealing with an unknown, which this being most certainly is, assumptions are very dangerous. You ask how there could possibly be a being that can take on any number of forms. I ask why not." "But it's impossible for something to take on so many forms!" Rakaloma shot back. "How would this creature take on so many forms?" "That's one reason I'm here," Kylajn explained. "The pattern of appearances very definitely points to an individual, or at least a small group traveling together. A group traveling together has been all but ruled out, by you Raslomaons no less. Only one being has been seen at a time, and if it did travel in a group, the others would have been seen. That's why I think it's a single individual. Oh, and my third reason for being here," Kylajn said, trying to get out of an arguement he knew would end up going in circles, "is to give those too stubborn to leave an alternate escape route." and pointed to the tunnel he dug. Anzunden chuckled a bit, "Kylajn, just because you can give most mules lessons in obstinancy, doesn't mean everyone is. I doubt any citizens will be left. Just us and the criminals."
foreverinfinity
"A few people here have already heard my reason for being here, but I'll share it again for those of you who wern't here," Henna put in. " I came in case the being caused some harm, wich I guess now could help in our plan to keep us from getting injured too badly. my ability is about 20% above average. I was also going to make an illusion to lure citicens away from harm if I could, but it seems most have fled before the being came anyway, so I'm not sure how that will help. By the way, anybody have any food?" Everyone stared at her for a second. "Just wondering. I'm hungry."
Vilearchangemon
"I too am here for the being's arrival", Hygua said looking down to the ground. "Not because of any need for intelligance on my part. I could care less about how many forms it can take, or what they do. If it wants to destroy, it will have to get through me first" Hyuga finished "Us" Anzunden said looking dead at Hyuga. While, he didn't let it show, Hyuga was frightened. So close to flame, a man who with a simply flick could wound Hyuga to point of no return. He swollowed hard, for the first time in awhile. "Yes us, even if means I have to work along side you, Anzunden. I will to protect this city." Hyuga's eyes met Anzunden, and the air seemed to freeze. Hyuga and Anzunden nodded, in agreement. Hyuga had gotten past his fear or the time being, he worried no more.
GuyYouMetOnline
?I don?t think fighting the being is a good idea,? Rakaloma said. ?Many others have fought. it doesn?t make a difference. The beings are too powerful for us to take on. Anyways, this isn?t the time to talk about it. I think it?s time we get down to business. "Here's the plan: Arachne, Kylajin, Hyuga, Anzunden, and Mizu will form a semicircle around the door. Anzunden and Mizu will be at the corners of the front wall, and the semicircle will be formed with Hyuga in front of the door. Henna, you need to make sure they aren't seen. Create the illusion that there's nobody there. Set the illusion three feet from the front wall of the house. Anyone looking out from inside won't see anything, and the illusion won't matter when they're more than three feet from the wall. It'll also be easier for you to maintain the illusion that way. Of course, Kalmorians in natural state can see magical energy, and so can some Raslomaon, but you probably know that illusions of something's absence tend not to actually have visible amounts of energy, even though they're not exactly easy to maintain. Now, we don't want them to be able to see that we're moving, so I'm going to be maintaining the illusion of everyone standing where we are right now. Everyone except me, that is. I'm going to be at the door, and I want them to know it. I'm the bait. it's my job to draw them outside. don?t worry, I?ll be safe. I have a few tricks I can use. Henna, when I give the signal, we'll both drop our illusions. You Kalmorians will attack. Don't hesitate to use your best abilities. Any damage you do to the house won't matter, because the being will probably do much worse to the entire city. Just don't hit each other. Nekuok, you'll move in and do whatever you can. Henna, your job'll be to keep the rest of us alive with your healing abilities. Everyone got it?" They all nodded. "Good. it looks like the criminals have come up with their plan, and they'll move quickly. We're moving now." One of the Raslomaon looked out the window. ?One of them?s walking toward us. It?s the Raslomaon. She?s heading for the door. there?s definate magical energy in her. I don?t think she?s an illusion, though. That energy pattern marks her as a mage. A strong one, too.? One of the Kalmorians spoke up, one who was in the form of a human male. ?I?ll take the lead. everyone else, behind me. Be careful. They might be up to something, and that mage is probably very dangerous.? Everyone was in place when Rakaloma knocked on the door. It was opened by one in the form of a human male, but the heat signiture indicated a Kalmorian. ?Who are you, and what are you doing here?? he demanded to know. ?I?ll be honest,? Rakaloma said. ?My name?s Rakaloma, and I?m here because I was hired to locate and either apprehend or kill you and your companions. The others are here for their own reasons, and they got dragged into this.? ?You shouldn?t have told us that.? The Kalmorian stepped aside, and the other seven exited. One of the Therosaon moved very quickly and shoved a dagger into Rakaloma?s chest. She only smiled. ?I don?t know if either of the Raslomaon have magic vision, but I know that you Kalmorians do when in your natural state. However, a skilled illusionist can damp down the magic signature of an illusion to the level of an above average mage. And the illusion of nothing doesn?t have a visible magic signature. I?m sorry, but you just walked into a trap. Drop the illusion [now]!? The eight criminals were startled by the sudden appearance of the Kalmorians coming at them, with Nekuok not far behind. The illusion of Rakaloma dissapeared, and the real Rakaloma appeared. She was inside the house, right by the door. She took the lead Kalmorian by surprise, killing him before he knew what hit him. One of the therosaon stepped inside the house and faced her. ?you?re a mage, but so am I,? he said. ?let?s see just how good you are.? ------------------------------------------- OOC: The action has begun. right now, just fight. you can kill the criminals, but don?t do anything to the Therosaon that Rakaloma?s fighting. Kitty
Nekouk pounced on a Therosaon that was running towards Rakaloma and brought him down to the ground. I'll come back to him, if the others don't kill him first, she thought to herself. She saw the other Therosaon charging at her. She easily dodged him as he was quite clumsy and slow. Sorry about the length too, couldn't really think of much without interfering with other peoples' plans. Mizu changed back into her spirit form and fired a strong blast of water at the stunned group of men. They all fell down and were soaking wet. Mizu giggled lightly and floated over to them. "You should be more careful, ya know?" she said, and then she picked one up by the arm and swung him into the wall. The others were all taking other criminals. Someone called to her about the guy that she'd attacked was behind her. Of course, Mizu knew that and swung around, a water bubble built in her hands. Mizu pushed it forward with energy and the bubble encased him. Bubbles began to come out of his mouth and he banged his fists against the walls of the bubble. Mizu was very slowly drowning him. She felt a pain in the place where a bicep would usually be. She looked at the spot and saw that one of the other criminals had thrown a dagger at her and it sat imbedded in the energy that she was. Mizu pulled it out easily and flicked her wrist, throwing the dagger back at him and it was impaled in his heart as he fell backwards. Mizu turned back to the bubble and saw that he had sunk to his knees in the round prison. Bubbles were escaping his mouth in streams as he struggled to hold his breath. Mizu shrugged and decided she couldn't be bothered waiting for the stubborn man to give up. Mizu bounced off somewhere else to attack more criminals with glee.
Revelation
Disliking her human form, Arachne alternated to her element, shadow. She had became a dark, wispy, blackened figure that danced across the ground. A black orb floated around her body and caught the eyes of a Kalmorian. Arachne drifted backwards, bidding the Kalmorian to come closer. His eyes had become drowsy and soon enough, Arachne was able to control him. Arachne slightly touched the Kalmorian and realized his element. He possessed the element of darkness. With a smirk on her face, Arachne swept her shadowy hand across his back and began to feed off of his power. Within a few seconds, she was surging with enough power to destroy nearly a fourth of the city. The dark Kalmorian dropped to his knees in a daze. The others looked on or they fought. Arachne stood ready to attack. She waited for anyone who dared to encounter her. The one to attack her was a human. He had nearly 30% above average magical ability, yet he relied on his own offensive maneuvers, such as weaponry. And in this case, this human reached for his daggers and lunged at the shadow Kalmorian. Laughter came from Arachne as she began to engulf the human within shadows. He began pulling away, but the power was too great and his magic began to decrease as she realized that his power was close to the darkness. Soon enough, the human was fully engulfed in shadows and darkness and he was veiled. ?Perhaps a bit of vision is needed. Your greatest fear or your greatest desire? Let us see what comes from your vision.? With a slightly evil chuckle, Arachne had given him his vision. Within moments, his face had became pale and his daggers dropped from his hands. Arachne released him and she teleported the Kalmorian and human to the rest of the criminals. She then teleported herself to the rest of the group. Once she was there, the orb stood in one spot and was directly in front of her. Smirking, Arachne left it and looked to the others, for the Kalmorian had regained consciousness and had seen the orb. Gently urging the Kalmorian to hold the orb, he did as Arachne said. He held it in his hands for more than a moment. The orb, the Sonnette de Ombre, Bell of Shadows, began to shake violently. The Kalmorian began to scream in pain as the Sonnette de Ombre received its gift. The screaming resided and the Sonnette de Ombre took its place around Arachne. She placed her hand upon the orb and took the gift that it had received. ?It seems that the gift of alternation is mine. And my army rises with the dead. Take these outlaws and let their powers become the shadows?, so that I may receive what is not theirs. They shall become weak and mostly powerless against us. Alas, do not touch the Therosaon that Rakaloma fights, for she will have her way.?
GuyYouMetOnline
Anzunden saw Nekuok attack a Therosaon. But one Therosaon was engaged in a magical battle with Rakaloma, and the other was dead. Nekuok was charging a Kalmorian. The Kalmorian recovered quickly from Nekuok's attack, taking the true Therosaon by surprise. the Kalmorian prooved itself to be of the Light element by directing a blinding flash at Nekuok, dazing her. Anzunden reverted to natural state and engulfed the Therosaon-form Kalmorian. it reverted to its natural state, resulting in a high-intensity battle that the human (or Therosaon, or Raslomaon) eye couldn't follow. rakaloma's opponent prooved to be very much her equal in ability. However, she had offensive and Illusionist skills, while her opponent prooved to have offensive and defensive skills. She was using her illusory talents well. The Therosaon would send a blast at her, only to find that she wasn't really there. He'd raise a barrier to block an incoming blast, only to learn that the blast was a fake. He was quickly tiring, while she didn't seem to be. Rakaloma recognised the signs. Her opponent was more powerful than she, but not anywhere near as skilled. He didn't know how to maximize spell effectiveness while minimizing energy loss. He would tire out fast, while Rakaloma would be able to keep going for a while. But she didn't want to go for too long, because she didn't have the defensive skills of her opponent. If she was hit, she'd be in trouble. The Therosaon saw Rakaloma come at him, and assumed that it was an illusion. He spun around at shot an energy blast behind him. Where there seemed to be nothing a moment before, Rakaloma was now on the ground, and her legs were in bad shape. So was her left arm. "You're good," the Thersaon said. "Just too predictable. With a bit more training, you'd be very dangerous. Too bad you won't get that training." Rakaloma laughed. Suddenly, she was undamaged and on her feet. "You're the predictable one," she said. She flicked him off and dissapeared. It was an illusion. The real Rakaloma was the one who ran at him earlier. She was right behind him, and she literally blew his head off. "And that's why you just died." And with that, she went back outside to help finish off the other criminals.
foreverinfinity
Henna walked in on the fight scene, ready to help any way she could. "Hmmm, I may not be able to fight, but I do know how to scare people." She made the illusion that she wasn't there, and then walked toward the criminal who seemed to be the strongest, and... tapped him on the shoulder. He swiveled around, seeing no one, and turned back around just in time to see Nekouk conjour up a fire ball to kill him with. When that criminal was dead, Henna took down her illusion. "Did I miss something?" asked Nekouk. Grinning, Henna replied, "Yeah, you'll get used to it, I'm sure."
Vilearchangemon
Hyuga swan through the choas, finding a human drawing a claymore, and preparing the charge the illusionist's back. Hyuga made a simple hand gesture and conjured a blade of solid ice. It us a a jagged blade, perfect for an attack. He rushed the man and sword in front of the man. The man's sord was twice the size of Hyuga's, but the man was being pushed back. Hyuga shoved the man, sending him flying back. The man spun and closed the distance between the two quicker the Hyuga could anticipate, and got a free swipe at the Kalmorian. A large gash ran up Hyuga's arm, and he leapt away from the man. A smirk appeared on the man's face. " Giving up already...I though your race was stronger then this". The man let out a laugh, sending Hyuga's temper over the deep end. "You want to see my race's power, so you shall!" Hyuga drew moisture from every possble source. His body erupted in a stream of ice. His body grew to clossual proportions. He was glad he was in a port, or else he would have never found enough moisture to make this form. He body was about twelve feet taller then the man looking up in horror at him. His face was that of a wolf frozen in ice. His massive arm's dangled down down the ground, each ending in a massive claw. His legs were equaly massive. He stomped toward the terrified man, and took one of his massive clawed fingers and drove it through the man's upper body. Blood splatter up the claw, and the man was just a mangled corspe now. Hyuga became human again. He collasped on the ground. He was an idiot, summoning the power to make himself into the beast may have made him useless against the being. He was so tired now, he should have just takin his Kalmorian form, not his own created form. He turned to look at the remaining part of the battle. ---------------------------- Ok, just so I don't seem like I'm goddmoding, that form is almost impossible to reach unless by a large body of water. Also it takes all of Hyuga's energy, rendering him helpless. He recovers quickly, but his ice abilities are icrediable hindered, and he can't take his Kalmorian for without a night of sleep. Cambrian_Explosion
Kylajn growled in frustration. He'd been forced underground from the start by one of the human mages. Every time he poked his head aboveground, someone would direct a Wind attack at him. Why is everyone using Wind attacks so much? he wondered. He finally ran out of patience, since he could hear the battle winding down and he wanted a piece of the action. He ventured up again, this time not greeted by the sound of howling wind. He looked around in his natural state. Almost all the criminals were dead, only a human facing off with Hyuga and a Kalmorian of Light engaged in a magical duel with Anzunden. Correction, thought Kylajn as Hyuga took on his ice monster form, just Anzunden against the last criminal, and... Arachne never saw the attack coming, just heard the crack of rock. She turned and saw that the criminal Kalmorian of Dark had recovered some of his power and launched a Dark attack at her from behind. Fortunately, Kylajn had unearthed a good-sized rock to act as a shield. "Arachne," Kylajn chided gently "never turn your back on a fallen enemy, unless they're dead." And with that, Kylajn struck back, causing the ground under the Dark Kalmorian's feet to buck and roll like a wind-tossed sea, and sending the Dark Kalmorian flying. Kylajn met him in mid-air, and they entered a high-intensity battle much like Anzunden's, which he was winning. The Dark Kalmorian shifted into his natural state, a formless, shifting mass of blackness that seemed to have no substance. The Kalmorian was obviously powerful, having been completely drained by Arachne, then been forced to hold the Sonnette de Ombre, and still managed to attack, let alone stand. But Kylajn was very powerful in his own right, and he was fresh from the sidelines, while the criminal was still weakened from his ordeal. The fight did not last long at all, Kylajn finished off the Dark Kalmorian before Anzunden killed the Light Kalmorian.
GuyYouMetOnline
The fight continued for a few minutes after the deaths of the other criminals. Eventually, the two Kalmorians separated. The light Kalmorian seemed to dissipate, and Anzunden returned to human form, looking much the worse for wear. ?You look like you just got the crap beaten out of you,? Rakaloma remarked. ?The damage I sustained during my battle with him carries over to this form,? Anzunden replied. He looked around. ?Is it just me, or are there more bodies than there should be?? Rakaloma nodded. ?There were three humans and three Kalmorians instead of the two of each race I saw. My guess is, they were in a different house and making the actual exchange. The eight I saw were decoys. I?m lucky we were seen. Otherwise, the main two would have escaped.? ?Um, guys?? It was Henna. ?I think the being has arrived.? everyone looked where she was pointing. They could all see something coming toward the city, but only Rakaloma, with her race?s superior vision, could clearly make it out. ?Angelic in appearance. three of them. One?s definitely real, but I?m not so sure about the other two. Sporadic in the infrared, but probably illusions anyways. They?ve never done this before. it?s always one being at a time, and no illusions. Why is it different this time?? ?I don?t know,? Anzunden said. by this point, they could all make out the being and two probable illusions. ?but that doesn?t matter now. It or they are heading right for us.? Rakaloma looked at the others. ?Don?t try to fight. Kylajin, take anyone who doesn?t want to take any more risks, and hide underground. I need to watch it or them to see if I can get a hint of what?s going on. If you want to, stay with me. If not, then hide somewhere. And remember, don?t try to fight.? Nobody had any more time to talk. The being and its two probable illusions were right on top of them. -------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: If you do decide to fight the being, your character will get his or her ass kicked. That applies even if everyone fights it.
Revelation
Looking to the being and its "illusions", the Sonnette de Ombre began to float in midair, ringing impulsively. Something was not right at that moment. Yet, she stood there, not moving an inch, only looking to the destructive, yet helping creatures that looked down from above. She was certain that the being in the middle was quite real, yet there was a strange feeling coming from the other two. Arachne shook away the feeling and concentrated on the beings. They merely looked down at the group, who looked up to them. What would happen next? The ringing of the Sonnette de Ombre had stopped. It seemed to have stopped in time, but only Arachne knew the sound it was making. Not only did the Sonnette de Ombre stay in midair, its ringing had became a silent, quaking, almost paralyzing, pulse. Not even Therosaons could feel its silent explosions, nor could Raslomaons or even other Kalmorians. It was only Arachne who possessed the ability to hear its quiet chimes. A steady hand was raised. With quick reflexes, Arachne held the Sonnette de Ombre held it into her palm. Anzunden looked her way and saw that she could not retain the Sonnette de Ombre in her hand. It was as if it had made its decision to put itself out and be no prisoner to anyone's hand. But he understood what was going on. He felt what Arachne and the Sonnette felt. At that exact moment, the beings had stopped gliding and their wings had stopped beating. Their gaze fell upon Arachne and her orb. They pointed a finger to her and she did not flinch. Only steady breathing came from her, not even fear exhaled from her. Rakaloma's voice entered the thickening air as the beings' still pointed to the shadow Kalmorian. Her voice trembled a bit, not out of fear, but out of interest. "Don't provoke them. Stand still." Arachne raised an eyebrow. "I have no intentions of doing either."
Cambrian_Explosion
Kylajn burrowed into the ground, and headed toward the neighboring forest. He knew where a few rarely used paths were, and popped up next to where they intersected. Then he got out, moved over a couple yards, and proceded to dig a new tunnel. This way I won't slow anyone down trying to get to the exit, Kylajn thought. He headed back to where the beings were last. I can't believe that Rakaloma thought that I'd want to hide from the being. I only took cover during the fight with the criminals because I didn't want to be nursing a serious injury when the being arrived. And good thing, too. With those wierd illusions, I don't think we should take any chances. Kylajn popped out of the ground right next to Rakaloma and behind Arachne. Good thing, too, or the being might have attacked him, thinking he was sneaking up behind it to attack. "So, what did I miss?" Kylajn asked Rakaloma in a whisper, which seemed loud in the complete silence. "The Sonnette de Ombre floated up on its own and started ringing, but it's stopped now. It's very strange. The being and the illusions pointed at the bell, and it stopped ringing immediately. It may be a coincidence, but it may not." "Rakaloma, I thought you said that no one, not even Raslomaons with infared vision could make the illusion of heat. But those 'illusions' are giving off heat, right?" "Yes, but perhaps the beings have learned how to do it. Or perhaps they aren't illusions, but actually well camoflauged beings. Or maybe..." Rakaloma trailed into silence, and stared hard at the illusions. "Or maybe what?" Kylajn asked, looking at the "illusions" in his natural state, noting the magic coming from them. They could be illusions, or cleverly hidden comrades of the central being. Rakaloma looked at the Earth Kalmorian. "Or this being may have made magical copies of itself, not illusions, but actual living, breathing creatures!" "But that's increadible!" Kylajn said, a hair from saying "impossible." "Then again, it's equally increadible that it has made the illusion of heat." "Sorry to interrupt guys, but I think you should be watching this," Henna said.
