Guest Midnight Rush
Welcome to Undefeated?s Newest RP- Namesake: Redemption This idea has been in my head for a while, and I finally decided how to throw it all together. This story requires excellent grasp of writing and grammar, a level head, and a little bit of creativity. Here?s the story (This is not historically accurate, I have a deep grasp of this time?s history, however I am bending things? how do you say? Literary License): When the forces of Alexander crushed the Greeks in the final battle for Athens, Ptolemy, a general of Alexander?s, observed a cavalryman, in the heat of the battle, dismount and run. This man hid behind a rock to escape the danger, and was found there after the battle was won. A watch captain brought the man to Alexander and explained his desertion and cowardice. Alexander looked at the man, cringing and trembling before the mighty General, and ordered him, ?Look me in the eyes soldier!? The man raised his head and weakly responded, ?Y-y-yessir.? ?What is your name?? Alexander demanded. ?A-A-lexan-d-der, sir.? The man mumbled. ?Speak up!? ?A-Alexander, sir!? ?You would act coward while bearing my name?! I ask you again, what is your name!? Alexander roared. The man, Alexander, replied, ?Alexander, sir!? Power seemed to emanate from Alexander the Great as he coldly whispered,? Is that so? Well, change your conduct or change your name .? ?Yes sir!? That conversation changed the man?s life. In the battles to come, he was forced to be at the center of the front lines in the heaviest action. As he fought desperately against the foes, the words of Alexander haunted him. Overtime he became renown for bravery and strength, winning the highest honors for saving the lives of his brothers in arms. This man, Alexander, earned the right to have that name, dieing in ultimate glory on a midnight run. Dieing delivering the news that would save thousands of men and women. Dieing with honor! Dieing with glory! Leaving a legacy that will always be remembered in the annals of men. A tear fell from Edgar?s eye as he read that story for the ten-thousandth time. His heart yearned for the chance that Alexander gave Alexander. Edgar, like the soldier, had failed those who trusted him most. Unlike the soldier, however, Edgar had no chance for redemption. There was no Alexander the Great to set him straight. He was alone, fighting a civil war in his mind, trying to forgive himself for failing in the time of greatest need. It wasn't really his fault, life overcame his plans, but he felt responsible. He was the oldest and protective of his friends, and when, even in uncontrollable cicumstances, he failed to protect them, he broke: Edgar and his brother, William, had gone hiking with their girlfriends, Amy and Jessica, on a rugged mountain path. It had been March, and the weather seemed pleasant? when the blizzard had broke out, the four young men and women were caught completely unaware. Without any protection from the weather, and only a nominal sense of direction, things looked hopeless. That was until William found the cave. When they entered, it was still very cold, but there was no wind and it was dry. Using some sticks and other detritus they found in the cave, plus Edgar?s Zippo lighter, they made a fire. Edgar and William split the night watch, Edgar taking the latter half of the night. With William and the girls sleeping, Edgar crouched at the entrance of the cave staring hawkeyed at everything around him. The storm had stopped at this point, and he was about to breathe a sigh of relief and relax when he heard the first of the howling. During the storm it was impossible to hear anything, but now he heard the unmistakable sound of wolves. He crept over to William and woke him. Telling his brother of the situation as they went back to the cave entrance, Edgar silently prayed that the wolves would pass them by. ?Will, we can?t risk fighting them. A-chan and J are great girls, but they?re hardly outdoorsy. I was surprised when they even agreed to come. They?ve done great so far, but the sight of blood would kill their morale. And if one of us were to?you know, they?d never make it.? ?Well Ed, I don?t think they?ll attack? we could take one.. maybe two, but our weapons are limited. If they come in numbers we?re finished. We just need to wait now.? The howling was closer at this point, and the two guys tensed, their adrenaline beginning to start, hearts half afraid half excited, and minds whirling with ideas and hopes for surviving the night. Edgar?s eyes caught the a glint of an eye in the moonlight, and his hand snaked to his Bowie knife. William went back rekindled the fire, and then grabbed two sticks, lit them, and ran back to Edgar. The wolves attacked, coming from several directions and lunging at the two guys in the entrance. Edgar knifed one in the neck when it jumped him, but Will wasn?t so lucky. His burning sticks had dryrot and shattered on the feral beast. The wolf sank its fangs into William?s neck, and blood splattered from his mouth, ?Damnit! Arrrggghhh!? William was dead, and Edgar struggling with a beast twice his speed and very strong. He let out a roar as his knife sank again and again into its shaggy neck. The wolf died, but the commotion had woken the girls up. Jessica and Amy half-stumbled to the scene of the fight, and panicked at the sight of William dead. ?Will! Noooooo!? Jessica cried, running over to her fallen man and embracing the still fresh corpse. Edgar was fighting Will?s wolf at this point, and didn?t see the two others that jumped onto the girls. They died before he could even cry out a warning. Edgar?s heart broke seeing his beloved Amy being ravaged by a mangy beast, and he went berserk. Bleeding in a dozen places, he jumped on his foe. Something clicked in his mind and all he could think was ?Dead. Dead. They are all dead. William?Amy?NOOOOOO!? He killed two other before he collapsed, and the wolves left the crazy man alone. They had feasted on their three successful conquests, and were not interested in losing more of their number. Two days later the rescue patrol found Edgar. He was within a silk thread of death, only the cold and blowing snow and kept him from bleeding out. The paramedics airlifted him to a hospital were doctors and surgeons tended his wounds. That was fifteen years ago. Edgar, now 35, recovered well from his wounds. His body healed. His mind and heart did not. His fury at failing his little brother, and his first love turned to drive. He completed school at the top of his class, breaking every record that had been set before in the halls of academia and on the field of athletics. For ten years he was a wildly successful investment banker. Then his drive dried up. He became broken once more. He hadn?t loved since the accident and his mind was numb from it. Edgar needs healing, he needs to forgive himself and move one. Edgar Bellerophon would die to gain redemption. He might have to. Ok! That?s the story. Heavy stuff, I know, but we can do a lot with it. I will be Edgar (I am a happy person, this is in no way a reflection of myself), and will post the signup later. I need about three more guys and four girls. There are no set character parameters, but I do need some general roles filled in: Child-hood friend Love interest Enemy Co-worker friend No one has to fill these roles to a tee, but keep them in mind when you are signing up. You don?t need to PM me to signup, go ahead and give it a shot. The goal of the story is to see Edgar?s life repaired, in case you missed it, LMAO. Crystal left her hometown after graduating from high school and went off to peruse her education. After only 6 years of hard work she graduated with a PHD in Wildlife Biology. Crystal then worked at Yellowstone National Forest for a few years, until she got a job offer near where she grew up. Moving back would not be very hard for Dr. Carter, for she had kept in touch with several of her old friends, including Edgar. Relationship with Edgar: Crystal and Edgar were never really very close, but after Amy?s death, Crystal started to try to get to know him. After leaving home she sent him a few Christmas cards, but now that she?s back, Crystal intends to help rebuild Edgar?s shattered life. Crystal could become a love interest, but I?m leaning more towards her and Edgar just being friends. Hope this works!

Cyriel
Name: Leigh Carlson Age: 17 Appearance: attachment. Familiar, Undefeated? ;) Biography: The typical teenage delinquent originating from a broken family and abusive home life. A bastard at birth, Leigh had four other siblings, all born of different fathers. They grew up with their beautiful mother, who lived off of social security, drugs, and different boyfriends. At the age of eight, Leigh was raped by one of her mother's various boyfriends, and again when she was twelve. When she told her mother, she was ignored, because her mother was so desperate to hang on to these men. There were several other occurrences, but Leigh never told anyone again. When Leigh was fifteen, her mother was arrested and convicted for the carrying and usage of illegal substances. She was sent to jail, and Leigh and her half-siblings were split and sent into foster homes. Leigh, alone and afraid, angry and rebellious, enraged at the world, passed through several foster homes, and was sent back repeatedly. Finally, sick and tired of it all, Leigh ran away, and is now currently living on the streets. Relationship with Edgar: Leigh had an odd obsession with cemeteries. She liked to go there and read the gravestones, sometimes sleeping in the graveyards. One day she happened to be spray-painting some certain gravestones. By chance, these were the graves of the three dear people that Edgar had lost on that snowy night fifteen years ago. And by chance, Edgar dropped by to visit those graves. Seeing Leigh, Edgar caught her red-handed, and thus proceeded to force her to clean off everything she had dirtied. She had no choice to obey him (full grown man vs. teenage girl), and slowly, while she was cleaning off the paint, they slowly opened up and began to speak to each other. No doubt, both were very angry, but that seemed to create a bond, however weak. And after that, they continued to meet. They are not good friends. They don't know each other. They don't even really like each other. And both hold grudges. ...But for some reason, both also hold onto this odd relationship. Perhaps because Leigh has never had any single person hold her to doing the morally right thing. Perhaps because Leigh reminds Edgar of one of the three that he lost. Perhaps because Edgar seeks redemption, and Leigh doesn't even believe in it. OC: I know, not the typical thing you really outlined for the people, but I hope this is okay Undefeated. Beautiful seeing you again Inari.
