BlueYoshi
I don't know about my favourite game ever, but there are a lot that I've played and enjoyed... yet, there are also many supposedly great ones that I've never even had the chance to see in action, let alone play, like the Chrono games, and the Dragon Quest/Warrior series. I think FFT qualifies though. It's been too long since I last played it (for shipping reasons) and I've probably gone on about it so much around here that it's not healthy, so I'll make a dodge for now. Hmmm, Lylat Wars (Star Fox 64) was something I really enjoyed. Almost everything about it just screamed out "badass" lol. I always thought of it as a tuned up version of R-Type, actually, because the difficulty level can sometimes become a nuisance and everything is just so hectic. The weapons are bizzare too, and each level adds to the depth of the challenge, so it's not your average shmup game. Unfortunately, of all the games I've played, the bulk of them are on the crappy end of the spectrum, so I'd call a 'good games' scarce in this generation. To tell the truth, SF64 was something I randomly came up with just now, heh.
natetron46
My favorite game is probably Jedi Knight2. Ive always been a star wars fan, and thins is the best star wars game I have ever played. The story is good, the graphics are very good. The game is now 2 years old, but it still provides some awesome visuals. This game also has lightsabers, and the best combat system I have seen in a SW game yet. It is simply awesome.
Guest Mana
I think that I have many favorite games. I like Final Fantasy for the story, I enjoy Tekken for the thrill of the fight, but I'll tell you what game is most fun to me. I believe that Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and of course San Andreas (even though I have yet to play it) are the funnest video games. They are great games and they smoke the competition big time, no doubt about that. Grand Theft Auto has many elements which make it my all time fave. First off, you have the element of freedom. The freedom in Grand Theft Auto to roam around and do practically anything you want is quite something if you ask me. It makes the game fun and very long-lasting. You don't just beat some missions then go put the game in the closet. You can do missions, or do tricks on bikes, or snipe people, or even save lives in an ambulance. The fact is that you can decide your life, and that makes this game get a 5/5 for freedom, lol. The second element is all of the vehicles you can control. Not only can you drive cars and bikes and mopeds, but you can steal them from anyone when you feel like it. And the cars might need to be a little more varied, but they did a good job putting some fun rides in GTA, which gives the vehicle fun element a 4/5. There are many other great things about GTA, but I just named a couple. This game certainly deserves a 10/10, because it is fun, long-lasting, and original. Even the voice-acting's good! This game is a must-have for any PS2 owner. (I can't wait for San Andreas.) :)
Orb
I know this is kind of old back and all but i think the game that i loved the most is Super Mario 64. So many good memories of me and my friends having "star-io parties" lol. I like it because it does take a while to beat (at least for the first time) and its just the right level of difficulty. very fun.

Erika
I know it is a very stupid subject but. What is your favorite video game and why.
Not stupid, just simply boring. Anyways, as long as I'm here, might as well start. I have one favorite game, and a series, in which I love all the games. Final Fantasy VII ranks as my most favorite. Why I like it, well, practically everything about it is bloody awesome (and I like pre-rendered graphics). So, think of practically all the aspects of the game, and there you go. Second, it's Pokemon. I like all of them because they're just simply addictive and fun RPGs that you can take anywhere, play anywhere, and training monsters to kick others' a**es is just amusing in itself. Nuff said.
Shinmaru
I've played a lot of video games, and it's hard to choose my outright favorite game, just because there have been so many amazing games released over the years, with tons more on the way. With that in mind, though, I have a game that I generally name as my favorite game of all time; it's stayed in that position since it was first released in 1992, as a matter of fact. That game is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. To me, this game is a perfect representation of what makes the Legend of Zelda franchise so great: Link to the Past has my favorite dungeons, the best bosses, the most consistent difficulty, and the best gameplay. The Light World serves as a good primer to get you set into the game, as the difficulty gradually rises with each dungeon you go through. Link to the Past's dungeons don't needlessly overwhelm you like so many other games try to do. The difficulty curve is one of the better ones I've seen in gaming. The bosses can get plenty difficult, though, if you don't think that the game's dungeons are hard enough. Link to the Past's bosses are what I think that video game bosses should be: Big, intimidating and hard. The bosses require fast reflexes and faster thinking to beat, and the best strategies for beating each boss always make perfect sense. I also like the wide variety of weaponry that you get in the game. There's tons of different items to use, and like in other Zelda games, they're not just tools to mindlessly beat the enemies of the games with; they're used very well within the puzzles of each dungeon. This is the one area that I feel that every Zelda has gotten right. There are plenty more reasons why I love Link to the Past so much, but the reasons I outlined above are the big ones. I just feel that Link to the Past did so many things better than any game before it, and any game since. Other games that are close to Link to the Past, for me, include Super Metroid, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Eternal Darkness, Star Fox 64, Perfect Dark and Super Mario 64. Gin
my favorite games would have to be the Zelda games, any but the new Windmaker for gamecube... it's got awful animation and not a good plot (besideds Link's gone!:() if I had to chosse a favorite of the Zelda games I would deffedently say Orcirana of Time that was my favorite game for Nintendo 64 and I'd spend so much time playing it... when we first got it I was 7 I rember I'd always freak out when I went on that feild between Hyrule Castle, Lon Lon Ranch, Zora's Domain, Kokiri Forest, Death Montain and all the other places in Zelda I'd freak out at night because I didn't like all the zombies popping up at me so I'd have my big brother go through the feild for me... unless I was on Epona :sighs: Zelda was great I wish we had sold or N64;)
Beorhun
I'm currently diggin' The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. I've been playing that game for more than a month and I'm still finding tons of new stuff. I just barely beat the main plot yesterday! It's really immersive, and the plot is really open and it leaves you to a lot of improvisation. I loved how there was no right or wrong way to complete a quest. Other games...hmmm... I really like any Legend of Zelda, but Ocarina is definantly my favorite. I also didn't see what everyone's problem with Windwaker was. WW is probably my second favorite in the entire series. I also really liked Super Mario 64, it had some really great levels, and you never forgot where anything was, even months after beating it. I like most Final Fantasies, but I like VIII or X the most. I thought seven redefined the series, but eight refined the formula to almost perfection. Oh, and I also love Fire Emblem, if that wasn't obvious already. Hmm... I also really liked Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, for the PS1. Anyway, I really don't have a favorite game, but those are my favorites. I'm guessing that you're not a fan of the cel shaded graphics, and that's all well and good, but to say that Wind Waker's animation is awful is ludicrous lol. I won't argue about the plot, because that's completely subjective - some people will enjoy it, and some people won't. But, yeah, I don't see how you can argue that Wind Waker has bad animation. Guest The Pro
Agreed. Cel-shaded is the best. It is a very special version of animation that reminds me a hell of alot about anime, but i DO agree that it was gay to take out link, i mean he was so damn kool, the whole storyline revolved around him and zelda, so who can it be Legend of Zelda without Zelda? HMM? HOW THE **** CAN IT!
Gin
yes thats wat i feel no Link and no Zelda ...our memory card went for a swim in the washing machine along with a pair of my big brothers pants... so weve had to re-do every game on that memory card (and we had most of our games saved on that one) but he just got to the part with the Deku tree and Kokiris when I first saw them I totaly flipped out because... they werent people in green tonics with pointy ears but... oddness then they explained that they only took on human forms ...oddness -O.O- (glasses... its Harry Potter!) but no I'm not a big fan of the Cel-shaded stuff I really liked the drawings to the original stuff guess it wasn't nesiserily the animation but how it was drawn ...or is that the same thing? :feels stupid:

Unless you had some sort of lapse of consciousness the entire time you were playing Wind Waker and didn't notice that you were controlling Link, I'm going to take a wild stab and guess that you were talking about the Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask Link. So, why does it matter what Link you play as? Link is Link, whether he's the Ocarina style Link or not. Should we disregard every other Legend of Zelda game, too, just because they don't have the same Link in it? Also...I don't get what you're saying when you say that Zelda isn't in Wind Waker lol. It's made quite clear throughout the game that
Tetra is Zelda. Just like many of the Links are different, the Zeldas throughout the series are also different. There is no one Link, and there is no one Zelda. Period.
I don't really see what you're trying to say with that lol.
WW2
Well I haven't played it in a while, but I have to say my favorite game has to be Treasure's Gunstar Heroes for the Sega Genesis. For those who don't know, its a great side scrolling shooter full of great level designs, some great boss battles, and lots of explosions. The subway level along with its giant transforming boss has to be one of the coolest/most enjoyable gaming experiences I've ever had. And who can forget the boardgame level and its massive amounts of mini-bosses? The custom weapon upgrades were also a nice aspect of the game, my favorite always being the enemy seeking green triangle thingys. The game also mixed genre's with it's mid-game space shooter level, adding to its all around greatness. If ya haven't played it you should try and find a copy, or better yet write a bunch of letters to Sega, in favor of re-releasing it on a newer system. That would be great, especially since my Genesis has stopped working.
Kevin129
I agree with a lot of you guys when you say you cant just pick one. So i'll just make a short list. 1.Grandia 2: This game was pretty long for one disc. Good story, nice combat system and a great rpg. 2.All sonic games: I still haven't gotten sick of the intense speed and the adreneline from zippin around all those levels. 3.Megaman Battlenetwork 1-4:These games are addictive and are definitly worth trying for those who haven't heard of it for some strange reason <_< >_>. ^_^ 4.Metroid Prime: This game had me stuck on puzzles for hours. The fights were insane near the end and pretty good detail on the landscapes.
Desbreko
Sigh. ... Okay, anyone who's wanted to see this thread stay open, you have three people to thank: Shinmaru, Lord Eliwood, and WW2. If not for their high quality posts, I would have just closed this thread straight off instead of taking the time to delete the spammy posts and letting the thread continue. So if anyone's wondering where their post in this thread went, that's what happened. This thread has been on the edge of being closed pretty much since it began, but I'm giving it one last chance. Spammy posts that I just deleted ranged from the insufficient "I like such-and-such" answers, to off topic posts, to posts with unacceptably bad levels of spelling/grammar. And if those kinds of posts continue, I won't hesitate to close the thread.
Noside
I'm going deep into the past on this one. The first Kirby game's my favorite, even today it's my favorite game to pick up and play. It was my first non-tetris gameboy game and it rocked! It was just a simple concept, little marshmellow guy can suck up and spit out enemies and fly. That was enough genius for me. I think what really proved to me that it's my favorite is what happened a couple years back. At some point I had totally forgotten about Kirby after Superstar and moved on to N64 and Playstation. Then one day my buddy was playing a gameboy game with a familiar tune and I asked him what it was. He showed me his screen and it was the title screen with a line of dancing Kirbys, out of nowhere all my memories of Kirby hit me and I swear I shed a tear. Once I got home I immediately ransacked my room, found the game, and played it on my old gameboy. I think i'll go play it right now.
Kamuro
I couldn't pick just one, so heres 3... I'm a big fan of FF7 as well, I don't think theres a game I've spent more time on, considering I've beaten it so many times, I wanted to do all the character combinations, get all the materia, etc. I really liked Suikoden III, I've seen VI and well, it looks terrible lol, but Suikoden III was definitely one of my favorite games, it had 108 characters characters for god sake Lastly I liked Star Ocean 2, Star Ocean 3 was of course really good, but Star Ocean 2 is the one that really got me into the series
2010DigitalBoy
While Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy, and Golden Sun are all really great games, but my favorite game of all time is Ratchet and Clank Going Commando. The weapons are amazing, the difficulty is perfect, the platforming is amazing, and it all ties together insanely well. Sure there isn't much story, but its still likeable. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 9.6, he highest score I have ever given a game. I wrote a full review on gamefaqs.com.
JT Darkfire
Have any of you even heard of Tales of Symphonia? I'd have to say that it and Final Fantasy IX are my two favorite games. I mean, come on, the intricate story line, the unexpected plot twists, the undeniable fact that those games are addictive? And don't forget Tales of Symphonia's unique battle style. The only downside to FF IX would have to be the somewhat DBZ feel that I get from it, but I guess that would have to be part of its charm.
