The Exorcest-Should I see it?

I like horror movies for the pure scare factor, the things that make your hair stand on end. I just watched a preview of the prequel, and I muted the TV to listen to a CD, but suddenly, it unmuted and I heard that damn creepy voice say "God is not here today...". I've decided to try to check the first (the first film-wise, not plot wise) one out, and if I like the scare factor, the second one. I just want to know: Is it scary? If its only as scary as Ghost Ship, I might rent it for a rainy day, but I want a movie that, like I said before, chills and thrills you pretty good. Is this a good movie for that?

The original is a classic. I think you should see it either way... but yeah, I'd say that it's scary to most people. It's definitely in a completely different league from tripe like the remake of Ghost Ship.

If you are someone who lived in the 1970s you'll find it downright disturbing because of its horrifying images that will stick in your mind whenever you hear the word 'Exorcist'. Linda Blair's acting was extremely good for someone so young.

I recommend you seeing the first film. You'll never regret it. I'm not sure about the second though. Few remakes/sequels, or this time it's 'prequel', outmatch their predecessors but, hey, the year is 2004 and more and more sequels are becoming successful nowadays. And I saw the site and it looks good so I guess I'll see it. ^_~[/B][/SIZE][/COLOR]

[COLOR=SlateGray]Well, I wanted to see it...but I also wanted to do a ouiji(sp?) board. I'm all into the ghosts and things like that but, my mum saw the original Exorcist when it was first released in the cinema, she was about 19 then I think, and she couldn?t sleep properly for a year.

She used to live in an apartment and after a while she needed someone to come and open the door for her because she was too scared.
So, I'm a fan of ghost stories, so is my mum, but after she told me that it put me right off.
But different people react to things in different ways.

My advice would be to at least wait a few years before seeing it, if it were up to me, I wouldn?t see it at all, but you already know I'm a coward, lol.[/COLOR]

I really liked the first Exorcist. I will see this one. The first one was realyl scary, but i think it was actaully more shock value, nonetheless, scared me. I had some trouble sleeping for a few days, but I got over that. This one looks good, much better than the Exorcist 2 (which I beleive is one of IMDB's 50 worst movies ever).
Im anxious to see this.
