Brielle Stormed out of the room, Zeddrick and Vanilla both rather confused.

"What was that all about? Her parents have been dead for nearly 20 years..." Zeddrick stated before realising the true meaning.

"Hmmm our Lordship went through with the attack Ragnarok...I didn't think he'd become like that."

[So the royal family is dead?]

"Yes, the last real member of the family is right over there....a vegetable. Brielle although loved will not be accepted as the next ruler...It's the chaos he had wanted to spread...you know what tha means..."

[His real toys come out...Isn't that what you said before?]

"Yes....that's what I had said." He turned to see Vanillia looking on obviously hearing the conversation. Zeddrick paid her no mind and went back to sleep...waiting for his captivors to bug him again.

Valo was the next to pay Zeddrick a visit. "The attack's over," he told Vanilla, "but don't go just yet."

Vanilla nodded, and Valo turned to face Zeddrick. "I've been expecting you," Zeddrick said.

"I would have been here earlier, but I was otherwise occupied. You killed Branit before I could pump him for any more information, so I have to pump you."

"What makes you think I'll talk?"

"Because you don't have a choice."

Zeddrick laughed. "What will you do? Kill me? Go ahead."

"Threats of death have no meaning in interrogations," Valo replied. "You can't talk when you're dead. No, I find that breaking things works much better." He drew his poles. "I'll start with the legs, and work my way up. But only if you don't give me answers."

"What do you want me to tell you?"

"Thought you'd never ask. I need details on the dragon breeding program. How fast are the eggs produced? Hhow fast do the they grow under acceleration? How many dragons does Ilthazar have right now? Oh, and I need to know any varieties, like the new ones we saw tonight. Will you talk, or do I have to break some bones?"

-------------------------------------------------

OOC: Two things. First, Valo's serious about breaking bones (he did it with Branit, remember?). And second, Gelgoog, if you decide to have Zeddrick answer Valo's questions, don't have Valo leave afterwards, please. He'll have more questions.

"HAHAHAHAHA! You ask the most idiotic of questions. I'm sure you are aware I am the commander of the invasion forces...not some scientist like that fool. I will tell you this though, since it really makes no difference. Lets take the ones you fought tonight for example. Most were infants, I'd say it took them two days, the others adults in four...anything more than that and....well you haven't seen any of those yet. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Numbers....oh you really do crack me up...such a useless bit of information when an army can be assembled in half a week. Right now....heh, five hundred dragons, NOT counting the ones that were left as normal ones...but who knows, my King has been known to keep secrets."

"What else?" Valo spoke up happy that it was getting somewhere at least.

"HA!....that's all you get. I told you information that I didn't deem worthy of keeping secret. The rest of your questions, you can stick them up your ass."

A cold stare came from Valo, again he raised his poles threateningly.

"Bah, go right ahead...most of my bones are broken anyway." He stood up slowly, then spreading his arms out wide, spit into Valo's face.

The poles connected with his chest. Shattering the already broken ribs. Another blow to his calf, a sickening snap sounded. Zeddrick held back from screaming until his hand was smashed against the floor. His screams echoed through the nearby chambers as Valo continued his 'interragation'.

In the din of the captive?s screams, Vanilla closed her eyes and gritted her teeth. She was thinking of something very important (probably composing another song in her head) but the sight of Valo beating the daylights out of the Zerverian commander was disturbing her line of thought. Vanilla sighed deeply and clucked her tongue.
"Love, stay your weapon. His relentless bawling might wake Kai up."

Valo turned towards the prince. Without taking his eyes off Kai, he cracked the captive?s shinbone. It set off another thunderous howl from the captive; still the prince did not respond.
?Well I guess he won?t wake up.?
?How barbaric.?
?Ah, then have you taken a liking to this bastard??
?Are you jealous, my dove??
?No. I?m doing my job.?
?Do it properly then. My knight, all you?ll get from him with your method are sore arms and a bloody heap.? One of Vanilla's eyebrows was raised, goading Valo to rejoin.

"That's his decision," Valo replied. "His actions determine what mine will be."

Valo turned back to Zeddrick. "And as for you, well, I know you're not a scientist, so I asked questions you should know the answers to. Any competent comander knows how fast his forces are produced. Oh, and numbers are not useless. Knowing how many you have now is very useful, even if there will be a lot more shortly.

"Now, as far as any dragons having over four days of accelleration, I already know of one such project. Branit told me of the dragon that's been kept under accelleration from the development of the process. He told me its estimated age at the time of his return to the castle, but you were there more recently than him, and as the commander, I'm sure you've made sure to keep yourself informed as to the progress of your most deadly warrior."

"So you know of the dragon Plejalta," Zeddrick said. "What you undoubtably don't know is that shortly after Branit left, the rate of accelleration changed. I don't know the details, but I do know that under the new accelleration speed, Plejalta should reach the 2000-year mark sometime today. After the 1000-year mark, the process speeds up by a huge amount." Zeddrick laughed. "by the time you face him, his age will probably be past 3000. You can't win, Valo. There's no way you can stop Plejalta." Zeddrick laughed again.

"I know exactly why you chose to reveal that particular piece of information," Valo replied. "Intimidation won't work here, at least not on me. Some of the others might be afraid, but I'm not one of them. So you can just go to hell." And with that, Valo left.

Valo left, only the sounds of Zeddrick's laughter sounded now. Vanillia still had a disgusted face and hardly looked at the lump of flesh that was now Zeddrick.

"Imagine...that's fool thinks Plejalta is the strongest 'warrior'. What a fool, a dragon is only as good as its rider...even our lord knows that...yet why does he refuse to acknowledge this?"

[Zeddrick...sleep, your pain is unbearable. It seeps through you and into me even.]

"I'm sorry I'm causing you pain Ragnarok. Forgive me..." He bent his head low in an apology, but as he did so pain shot through his back. He fell to the ground screaming again in pain...he had moved an arm to hold his neck, but the wrist bone had punctured the skin. He lay still again.

I can't believe her....how could 'I' do that to my sister? What a lovely hypocrite. At least they will find their peace in death, I have no such comfort. I suppose I could...kill my gaurdian right here...but it would serve nothing. Her dragon would go insane and by then all the others would surely know. I can't wait around here forever. I will take my sister with methough...She's half the reason I'm still here.

He chuckled to himself but this time with the position he was in the laughter only added to the insurmountable pain. He cried out once, and then passed out.

Plejalta is the number one concern, Valo thought. he's easily the greatest threat we'll face, and we can't assume he'll be paired with anyone other than the very best Rider Ilthazar has. And I doubt that Ilthazar is stupid enough to neglect getting Plejalta battle experiance. Zeddrick told me we'll likely face a 3000+-year-old dragon. What he didn't say is that Plejalta will have reached that age long before we can get to Ilthazar's castle. They're probably training it right now. He expects me to think that Plejalta's reaching the 2000 mark today. What he undoubtably meant was that, if Plejalta's acelleration was stopped at 2000, Plejalta would be deemed ready for battle today. Zeddrick thinks I'm not a very good thinker, an image I've tried to live up to in his presence. He underestimates me. If he didn't, I wouldn't have gotten even the information I did out of him.

Valo walked out into the courtyard, and Angelus landed. [Brielle went to the hatchery,] she told Valo. [Heero followed, but I think he and Cyrus were seen. I, however, know how to remain unseen, and I don't believe any of them saw me.]

Why would she go to the hatchery? Valo wondered. [We need to get to the hatchery.] He hopped on Angelus's back, and she took off.

OOC: Sorry haven't been on. comp troubles

Brielle just sat there, cradling the golden egg. She could feel herself hugging Heero but she couldn't see him. Her vision was clouded with tears. In her mind, all she could think off was revenge - revenge against both sets of her parents' deaths. The golden egg she was clutching was the egg left to Celebrynn by the last Dragon Queen. This was her successor.
Why? I loved them......then they were taken away.....just like that. No second thought involved.....how can people be ruthless.....but.......... Brielle lifted her head. I'm like that too.....slaying the Riders of the dragons that Ilthazar sends...do they know they are fighting for evil.......do I know I'm fighting for the right side......
She shook her head, shaking herself mentally.
No. I am fighting for the right side. Ilthazar is in the wrong, but the lives I have taken......... More tears flowed from her eyes.
How could have I been so blind? I shouldn't be the Life Rider.......I don't even know what I'm doing.......

Suddenly she stood up, clutching the golden egg close to her. Heero rose with her.
" Heero, I'm sorry..." she whispered, closing her eyes.
" Sorry? Sorry for what?" he asked, confused.
" For ....... never mind...." WIth that, Brielle walked out of the Hatchery with Heero in tow. ScytheWing and Cyrus Sin walked over to them. Scythe looked at his Rider cautiously. He could sense something was amiss but, like always, Brielle knew how to hide it and did it well. Brielle, with the egg cradled in her arm, slid herself into the saddle and nudged Scythe to take off. Heero jumped onto Cyrus and nudged him to take off too. The two dragons looked at each other and then took off towards the palace in the capital.

After landing in the palace garden Heero watched Brielle walk off without a word...he put his head down..and this time...he walked down the back of the garden, Cyrus Sin looked at Sycthe Wing

'Whats going on???' questioned Sycthe beginning to get fustrated but the sudden silence between Heero and Brielle

Cyrus walked down to where Heero sat by a small stream,

'Heero whats wrong?' questioned Cyrus with worried expression

'I just....I dont' know....Cyrus take me home...,' whispered Heero as he climbed upon to Cyrus's back and with a flutter of Cyrus's huge wings they took off

Cyrus landed outisde the cave of where Cyrus use to sleep, the sun was high and it was warm..but to Heero it was cold

'Now are you going to tell me what's going on?' questioned Cyrus beginning to become agitated

'That's just it....I don't know myself,' spoke Heero as he walked to the river and sat down

'What do you mean?'

'I love her...but...I don't know what to do...she's hurting so badly and I don't know what to do,' spoke Heero as his voice sounded distant

'Just be there for her Heero is all you can really do,' said Cyrus feeling the his pain

'Yes but is that enough for her...I don't want to lose her...I can't...she was going to tell me something...but I don't know what it is...she said she was sorry....but for what though,' sighed Heero looking up at the beast that sat beside him

'Why don't you ask her?' questioned Cyrus

'Because I'm scared at what the answer maybe....I'm scared that I've lost her..I've never been this scared before...I don't want to lose her... because apart from you...she's all I've got to live for...' whispered Heero as he looked into the river

As soon as Scythe had landed, Brielle was off. Nothing would stop her. She marched to Zeddrick's room, telling the guard that he was now off-duty and stalked inside. The first thing she noticed was the drops of blood at her feet. Second was Zeddrick laying flat out on the floor, a pool of blood around him. Brielle walked over to him, checking his pulse. He was alive. Brielle inspected his wounds. She heard Ragnarok growl.
" Oh shut up....." she growled back. Ragnarok stopped instantly, hearing the deadliness in Brielle's voice. Brielle put the egg over in the bed with Kai, walked back over to Zeddrick and placed her hands on his chest. She felt his ribs broken, once from a while ago, twice just recently. She saw the red pole mark on his chest.
" Valo...' she hissed. Closing her eyes, Brielle asked for Scythe's help to heal Zeddrick. The energy flowed from her hands into Zeddrick's body. Ragnarok watched Brielle intensely, ready for any sudden slips. Once finished, Brielle removed her hands and waited for Zeddrick to wake. In a few seconds, he did just that. His eyelids fluttered open.
" What...I thought Valo was here...." Zeddrick started.
" Shut up. Now I want to know one thing, did you order the assassination of Orion and Lillyana?" Brielle asked as calm as death itself. Zeddrick was shocked at the tone Brielle asked it in. Usually, this was the tone in which he interrogated his captives with. He smiled.
" No. I didn't," he replied simply.
" Fine. That's all I needed to know. From now on, you come with me. You too Ragnarok," Brielle ordered. She looked to Kai. He was still laying there, eyes wide open. She got to her feet and walked over to him, leaving Zeddrick to himself. Brielle sat on the edge of the bed, facing Kai.
" For every life I take, another is given.....this will be how I work from now on," she vowed to herself, whispering. With her hands hovering above Kai's chest, she again asked for Scythe's energy. And again, it was given. Brielle revived Kai and walked out of the room, leaving the golden egg behind in Kai's care. Zeddrick and Ragnarok followed her.

Arriving in the garden's, Brielle watched Scythe walk over to her.
" Heero and Cyrus have gone," he said.
" Where?" Brielle replied.
" Back to where Heero grew up I think," the dragon growled, making his disapproval of his energy being taken known.
" I'm so stupid.......I'm sorry Scythe. I just needed it to revive Zeddrick and Kai. I'm sory my friend," Brielle apologised, softening immensely and hugging her dragon. Scythe's empression softened too. Brielle placed herself in the saddle again and took off, heading towards Heero's cave, with Zeddrick and Ragnarok in tow.

OOC: from now on, i will dividing my post into two, one for Brielle and one for Kai since he is going to play a more significant part in this.

Cyrus looked at Heero not knowing for once in his life how to ease Heeros worry and pain, everything had changed..and Cyrus's heart became saddened and Heero felt it

'Cyrus...I'm sorry..I didn't mean to drag you down,' smiled Heero as he patted Cyrus's nose, 'I just don't know what to do...I'm confused and I could Never live without you either,'

Cyrus smiled at Heero feeling his sincerity

'And I without you Heero,' smiled Cyrus as he nudged Heero in the side

'I just don't know what to do...I try not to hurt her but then I do...I try to understand but then I don't....,' heero sighed as he flung backwards, ' and it scares the crap out of me,' spoke Heero as he sat up and looked at the water

'But why does it scare you?' questioned Cyrus

'Because I've never loved before not like this...and you know that,' sighed Heero, 'I love Brielle...more than she'll proberly ever know..I just hope she see's that I love her and that I'l be there for her...I don't want to lose her,'

'Why don't you just tell her that?' questioned Cyrus

'Because I'd proberly stuff it up and make her angry,' spoke Heero as he looked at Cyrus

Brielle, Sycthe Wing, Zeddrick and Ragnarok landed silently, Brielle over heard everything and she smiled..even after what had happened

'Sycthe Wing guard them please,' she whispered softly as she appraoched Heero and Cyrus

'Heero..' spoke Brielle loud enough for him to hear her, Heero quickly jumped and stood up..his face bright red

'Where?....how long have you been standing there?' stuttered Heero

'Long enough..' she smiled as she walked towards him finally understanding why he was the way he was, she looked at him for a moment

Heero was just about to speak when she grabbed him around the neck, pulled him down slightly and kissed him passoinately, she pulled away with her arms wrapped around his neck

'I love you,' she smiled as she hugged him, Heero nervously put his arms around her

'I'm sorry..that..I...well for..not understanding,' he whispered

'Shhh..its ok,' she whispered

Brielle then told him that she had Zeddrick with her and they both walked over to where Sycthe stood boldly watching them, Zeddrick sat leaning against a tree with Ragnarok beside him

'I thought that you would of taken this oppotunity to leave,' spoke Heero looking at him with his head cocked slightly to the side

A smile grew on Zeddricks face.

"You'd think that wouldn't you. However I have unfinished business here."

Heero started, confused by what he heard. "w-What do you mean? You're a captive...unfinished business..."

"Yes, my sister...I've found her and I will take her home. To the place of HER birth."

"Why you....you won't take Brielle away...I'll kill you before that happens!" His rage was apparent. Yet it made Ziddrick only chuckle.

"Heh, I figured you of all people would say something like that...Now both of you listen. I'm going to tell you something. Something about the past." He pushed himself off the trre trunk and stod infront of them both. He labored as he did so, his wounds still stiff and sore.

"During the 100 year war, my father lead the dragons riders near the end of the conflict. On the last assualt we wver made on your capital, he was challenged by a women...My mother. Odd no? A high ranking Zerverian officer and a warrioress from Celebrynn. Well somehow the two feel in love on that battle field. Afterwards they both left out into the wilderness. They then moved into my current residence. Connfident that the King would never dare try anything they were wed. Unfortunetly, my Lordship slaughtered oour family, the eldest daughter he took for himself, I was hidden by some servants, and you.....Brielle were given to some Celebrynn friends of mother's."

"My...Parents..." Brielle looked on in amazement, "But how? How could you serve a man that killed off your family.

"I only learned of it two years back, but by then, I had to bide my time."

"Bide your time!?" Both shouted.

"Yes...perhaps I'll tell you that latter. Like I said...I will not leave until my sister follows...she had things to take care of back home..." Saying that he leaned back against the tree. His expression showed that he would not talk again.

Heero looked away from both of them, his mind in deep thought, Ziddrick wondered why Heero never looked at him as a man who fought for the darker side...he never once saw the hate in Heero's eyes that everyone else gave him, Heero turned back to Ziddrick his expression serious and stern

'I told Brielle that I would stand beside her no matter what...I will always be by her side,' spoke Heero with eyes of determination, 'And if she decides to go..then I'll go to,'

Ziddrick looked at Heero for a moment, 'I knew you'd say that,'

'I wont leave her side for noone,' growled Heero

'Heero..no you don't..' spoke Brielle as she looked at him

'I'm coming whether you like it or not...and the only way to stop me is to kill me,' spoke Heero as he looked at Ziddrick and then looked away

Ziddrick looked at Heero and saw how much he loved Brielle...and knew that he'd risk his own life to save her

An eerie silence fell upon them

"I don't think you're going anywhere, Zeddrick," Valo said, stepping into view. Everyone turned.

"What are you doing here?" Brielle asked. She didn't sound too happy with Valo.

"Relax," Valo replied. "Zeddrick's not why I'm here. After I spoke with him last, Angelus and I folowed you to the hatchery. You were leaving when we got there. We've been shadowing you ever since then. If you're wondering how you could possibly not see us, well, Angelus is an expert at concealing herself, even in flight."

"If you're not here for Zeddrick, then why are you here?"

"Because I'm folowing you, Brielle. Because of how you undoubtably feel right now, there are certain unsensable actions you are likely to take. Attempting a revival of the King and Queen, for example."

"And just what do you know about how I feel?"

"Because my parents are also dead," Valo told her. "In fact, that was a good deal worse than what happened to the King and Queen. For one think, you only had to see one of them killed. They died quickly, too. My stepfather went in battle, but my mother didn't. I saw her beaten. I saw her raped. I saw her driven to suicide. Consider yourself lucky, Brielle. You got off light."

Heero raised an eye brow at Valo

'Hey Valo..reality check for you...your mother took her own life...she had a choice, brielles didn't, they wanted to live and you call that getting off light...Where the hell do you come off thinking that the way her parents died is a matter of getting off light...loosing your parents is never light for anybody...it's all the same because when they're gone...everyone gets the same feeling...loss, betrayal, hatered, anger...yeah everyone gets it,' growled Heero looking coldly towards Valo

'But she isn't in the right frame of mind...,' growled Valo

'And I guess just because your mother was raped, beaten and committed suicide gives you the right to judge others and mark them down as getting off light....gives you the right to make their decisions for them...and makes you an expert on it...who the hell do you think you are?' snapped Heero

'I'm someone who understands her better than you,' Valo spoke with a smirk

Heero laughed sarcastically, 'Your right I don't understand how she's feeling, I don't even understand alot of things why?...we'll let me tell you something...I never knew my parents...I've never know the warmth of a mother...a hug of a father...the love they send out..the many kisses they give you..nothing...Hell i don't even know what they look like...because they didn't want me... noone wanted me..noone cared accept for Drewell but even then...I never saw that kind of warmth..love and whatever else there is... but at least I know I can trust what ever decision she makes...why?....because there is someone here who can understand her a hell of alot better than any of us...Sycthe Wing...I know for a fact that he will never let her make the wrong decision which is something you over stepped when you were making your judgement...Sycthe Wing has been by Brielle longer than anyone else and to me its over stepping the mark when you come out with things like that...when its pretty clear that Sycthe Wing doesn't think like that at all about her...he knows that she hurting...but yet he also knows that he can trust her...which doesn't say much about you,'

Valo looked at Heero with a deep frown but he knew the Heero spoke the truth...the only one who would really understand Brielle was Sycthe Wing, He looked at Sycthe Wing who didn't look to impressed by Valos remarks

'Valo...I know what happened to you must of been pretty bad and i'm sorry for that...but I wouldn't go around saying that others got off lightly because of what happened to my mother..because all and all...the hurtings still the same whether they take their own lives or someone takes it for them..and at least you knew yours, you knew their faces..their love..their warmth...but for someone who never knew there's at all...that has to be one hell of a gift,' spoke Heero with a deep frown as he then turned his back on Valo and walked over to Cyrus Sin and sat down

Brielle slowly walked towards Heero and sat down beside him and lent against him

'Thank you...' she smiled at him

Heero looked at her and placed a gental hand on her cheek, 'It's ok...it'll trust any decision you make...but if you tell me to stay behind...I won't..it's not because I don't trust you...it's because i want to be there for you...I'm sick of pushing you away and hurting you...I don't wanna do that anymore...I wanna be there always if you let me..I know that I don't understand...but I will try..for you,'

Brielle smiled warmly and kissed him on the cheek

[Works every time,] Valo sent to Angelus.

[You're a bastard, you know,] she replied.

[Yes, I know. But the meanest option is often the most effective.] "Nice to see we're all a bit more friendly now," he said. "And Heero, I'm sorry that you think a few things, such as the fact that you believe I meant what I just said."

"What's that suposed to meen?" Heero asked.

"Only that this whole thing would have continued all night if I hadn't done something, and we don't have all night. What I said was calculated to make you pissed off at me. That way, you aren't at each other's throats. I deliberatly provoked you in order to stop your, um, discussion before it got nasty. I'm sure you're not too happy with me, but that's better than what is was before I got here.

"Now, let's get down to business. We're not anywhere near done yet. According to Zeddrick, Ilthazar has about 500 more dragons to throw at us. One of those will probably be around 3000 years old. We'll have our work cut out for us, especially since we'll be taking the fight to Ilthazar. In about a week, when Branit and his escort, Zeddrick, were supposed to reach Ilthazar's castle, Ilthazar will probably come to the conclusion that we captured Branit and Zeddrick, which we did. He'll assume we know everything that they know or, in Branit's case, knew. That could cause problems, so we need to strike before then. That meens we need to leave tomorrow, which meens we need to start preparing. Oh, and you might want to get some sleep. So let's get a omve on."

With that, valo climbed on Angelus's back, and the dragon took off, heading for the castle of Celebrynn.

Zeddrick laughed loudly as Valo took off. The other two looked to him with concern in their eyes.

"What is so funny?" Heero demanded standing up.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA....That's bastard Valo...he knows how to talk his way out of a corner doesn't he?...All a calculated plan...what an idiot. He is such a good planner that he hasyet to strike a severe blow to our forces OR get any decent information out of his captives. HAhahahahah!" He pushed off from the tree wincing a little from pain then stood next to Ragnarok.

"Well I guess we'll be off." Brielle wait, a wasted tone to her voice. She was begining to wear out. Both could see it plainly, niether said a word. The three silently climbed upon their steeds and soared into the night sky.

[Did you ever think that it might be a bad idea to give your allies an incorrect picture of yourself?] Angelus asked Valo as she flew to the castle.

[An enemy was with them. Zeddrick has an inacurate picture of who I am, which is intentional. as long as he is still an enemy, I will continue t mislead him about myself. it's very useful if everything the enemy thinks he knows about you is wrong. For example, he doesn't seem to believe that I know what I'm doing. Of course, he probably doesn't know some of the things the two of us has done. If he did, he'd view me a lot differently then he seems to.]

[You're referring to the Galsonaz breakout, I assume?]

[There are others, of course, but that was certainly the most impressive feat of ours. It's hard to top getting every prisoner out of the most heavily-guarded prision there is without the guards noticing a single thing until we were done.]

[Yes, but the energy expendature almost killed the both of us.]

[That only makes it even more impressive, because we survived the experiance. My point is that if Zeddrick knew that we were behind that, even if that's the only thing he knew we did, his oppinion of me would be a lot different. Right now, I don't think I want him knowing who I really am. The lack of that knolwedge give us an advantage over him, and I don't want to lose it just yet.]

?What a mess??
Perched on top of the highest tower were Vanilla and Caramel. The Dragon was curled up, apparently sleeping, while her Rider stood on the edge examining the vicinity. Indeed, the castle was a sight to behold. The grounds reflected the dull grey of pulverized stone in the fading moonlight. Carcasses from the night?s sortie dotted the garden. In a corner convened three Elemental Riders. Before she could observe what was going on, her view was blocked by the massive body of another dragon.
?Lady Vanilla! The captain?s ---?
Vanilla waved the Rider off. ?Yes, yes. Tell him to wait.?

The Rider lead Vanilla through the maze of ruins. Two figures were huddled together behind a chunk of ornate ceiling; one Vanilla recognized as the captain and the other, a doctor. She greeted the doctor who nodded in reply. ?You wanted to see me??
?Where were you?? Nauross snapped.
?I was with the Princess?s captive. Lovely character, that man ---?
?You were guarding an incapacitated prisoner whilst a battle was raging outside?!??
?Something like that,? the lady Rider replied. ?Just following orders.?
?What kind of imbecile orders something like that??
?Captain, do keep still.? the doctor interrupted.
Clearly, the captain was in a very foul mood. He tried to swat the doctor away but Vanilla held him down. ?Now, love, let the good doctor do his job.?

The moon had rolled behind the horizon yet Vanilla remained beside the captain. Nauross conversed with a few men gathered around him. His voice was a quiet song lulling the lady Rider to sleep. Then the voice stopped; silence woke her up.
?Vanilla.?
?Hrmnh??
?We?ve a favor to ask of you.?
A hush came over the group as they waited for Vanilla?s reply. The lady took her time shaking sleep off before replying. ?Go on.?
?The researchers need a live enemy dragon.?
?That was blunt,? Vanilla muttered. The grim look on the captain?s face told her that he was not in the mood for shooting breezes. She turned to the doctor and asked ?Research? Since when??
?Since the attacks started.?
?And??
?Truly amazing. We were able to find some very unusual modifications in their anatomy. To learn the purpose of these variations though, we need a living specimen.?
?Can?t you just, you know, figure that last part out??
?Ah, if only it were that easy,? the doctor sighed. ?You see my lady, my team ?s having trouble accepting certain implications of these ?unusual characteristics?. For example, these dragons hyperactively secrete GH-releasing hormones, ergo, they may exhibit incredibly accelerated growth.?
?What??
Nauross shook his head. ?What he means is the enemy may have altered the dragons in ways previous studies have deemed impossible.?
?Thus, the need for a living specimen? I see? If we did capture a live dragon, will you be able to contain it? Surely, you need special restraints to hold the nasty buggers down.?
?Yes, the holding facility is ready.?
Vanilla stood up and brushed her pants, muttering ?Oh, my life is so exciting.? She turned to walk away. The doctor cleared his throat. ?Well, Lady Rider??
?Alright. We?ll get you your dragon.?

Heero could see how tired Brielle was, today had been along day...but he didn't say anything...he just put his waery head down and hung back behind Brielle and Zeddrick

'Something wrong?' spoke Cyrus loud enough so only Heero had heard him

'No it's nothing,' said Heero as he looked up to find Zeddrick looking over his shoulder at him, Heero turned his attention somewhere else

The night was lit by the moons eerie glow, Heero looked around...smoke from the smouldering fires filled the air and red ambers lit up below them as they flew across the sky

'More dead to add to the collection...such a waste,' whispered Heero as he looked around, he remembered what Valo had said to him...and in his mind thanked Valo for opening his eyes..although it seemed a little wierd

OOC: didn't know what to write........

They landed on the marble patio of the palace. The hole in the ball room was not visible from where they dismounted, the palace still in its beatiful form. Yet even to Zeddrick the palace seemed to lack it's luster. It's a sign....this contry is losing a war they had won 20 years ago. They'll no doubt make a valiet effort but even elemental riders will soon be ineffective for the things to come.

[Zeddrick...I smell it again...]

"Yes, they are no doubt on their way...He's noticed our absence. Tonight will be hellish..."

Vanillia passed by her dragon in tow. She had with her a large rope, ones used for taming wild dragons. This one however looked especially strong.
You're a bold one...
Zeddrick grabbed her arm as she was passing by, her angry and startled glare showed her tense state. She jerked away once but recieved no slack from his grip.

"Let go of me love or would you like my knight to question you again?"

"Your instrament will not affect the dragons anymore."

"Don't be so sure..."

"Does it work on deaf dragons my lady?" A grin working its way onto his face.

"I'm listening."

"My master has deafened the dragons for your pleasure...they now rely on a mental link...incompassitate the rider and strike the beast right under the jaw line. There is a nerve there that will stun them. You can tow it home after that. OH and when I say incompassitate the rider...I mean it. If he dies...you'll be out one captive and a captain of the guards..."

She finally jerked free walking away with Carmel.

[What was that all about?]

"I don't know...but we'll see if he is correct."

Zeddrick watched Heero and Brielle part and as commanded he followed her and her dragon. As he caught up to her he could see her wore face clearly.

"You won't get much sleep tonight sister..."

She stopped walking and looked at him. Her hands sat on her hips expetantly.

"He's sent a legion of soldiers this way...I'm not sure of the number of dragons, if any. I do know that he's been itching to test out his newest toys. They are...horrible...Our own people, changed into unfeeling, fearless killers. They no longer remember who they were, and now they are coming, not to overthrow your army but to eradicate this entire city. They were tested once...on one of our own villiges...I found out about it and looked at the aftermath. You must NOT let them reach the city. It will be difficult. I can't say why but they don't fight like regular soldiers, sending a huge army like that into a land with a sizable dragon flight would be idiotic...These men though...they'll be near to immpossible to find on dragonback. I can explain more to you...only you if you survive tonight."

Heero walked around to the garden where he sat under a tree, he pulled out his sword and pressed the flat side of the blade to his head, Cyrus sin sat down beside him

'Heero...what is bothering you?..please tell me?' questioned Cyrus looking at Heero with a worried stare

'It's nothing Cyrus,' spoke Heero trying to sound reassuring but it wasn't working

Cyrus grunted, 'Heero please,'

Heero looked at Cyrus, 'It just seems weren't not getting anywhere..the King and Queen are dead...Brielles brother well seraggot brother...is down for the count...and soon there's proberly going to be another attack,'

Cyrus looked at Heero, 'We will win this...don't let the King and Queens deaths be in vain....show their spirits that ours aren't lost and that we wont be defeated so easily...,'

Heero looked at Cyrus, 'You are wise my friend and you are right...I will fight for the honour of this kingdom...I will fight for the king and queen and their son...but most of all I will fight for Brielle..and if I die in doing so...then at least I know that I fought for reason...,'

Cyrus looked at Heero proudly, 'and I will be beside you all the way,'

Heero lent against Cyrus sin and smiled

When Zeddrick walked away from Vanilla, valo, who had been watching, went over to her. "What did he say?"

"That another force is on the way," she told Valo. "According to him, the force will be made up of new dragons, deaf ones that communicate entirly through a telepathic link. And I don't think he means the normal rider-dragon type of link."

[That's not what he's telling Brielle,] Angelus sent to the two of them. [I'm listening in, and I doubt they see me.]

[How could they one behind the Galsonaz breakout when that one desn't want to be seen? now, what is Zeddrick telling her?]

[That the attacking force will have few dragons, if any. Instead, he's saying that it will be comprised of what sounds like horribly altered humans. He's making them sound like super-soldiers of some kind.]

[Both might be true,] Vanilla put in.

[Not likely,] Valo replied. [Remember, Zeddrick's a captive. He's probably trying to get us into a position where our defense against whatever attack is coming will be weakened. My advice: don't listen to him, and be ready for anything.]

Incapacitate the Rider? Nick the dragon under the jaw line.
[Sounds simple enough.]
Hmm? yes, but?
[Come now. Recall what the captive told you.]
Well? Dulcet won?t work on the dragons.
[And?]
And should one of his Riders die by my hands, the Captain?s life? Can he really do that?
[Hrmnh? The man knows how to deal with you.]
No, no. That?s not it. If those dragons have Riders then they could be tamed. I wonder?
[Vanilla, you can?t possibly reason with those dragons.]
Yes, but I can hold their Riders under my sway.
[You think so? What if you fail? What then?]
Caramel, I didn?t say ?I think so?, I said ?I can?.

Around them, everything was still. The eastern sky started to glow, illumined by the morning?s first rays. Caramel sighed. She knew she couldn?t convince her Rider to back out from the flawed plan. Soon they will ride out, give battle to another host of enemy dragons, and come back with a dragon in tow. As she watched Vanilla against the pale sky, an ominous feeling rose in the pit of her stomach.

Kai awoke to the morning rays warming his face gently. He went to turn to his side when something stopped him. He looked. A golden egg lay half buried in the sheets. He picked it up. A sudden crack almost made him drop the precious egg. Kai turned it around, wondering what the hell the crack was. A tiny split in the egg's shell had appeared right at the top. A soft cheeping reached his ears.
" Oh my god, its going to..."
As soon as he was about to say it, the egg split in half and a baby golden dragon flopped out of the shell. It was such a little creature, innocent looking and beautiful. It looked at Kai and launched its slimy golden body onto him. He was amazed. The new Dragon Queen thought he was its mother. He picked up the tiny creature, wrapped it in a sheet and left the room with the precious bundle held tightly in his arms. The memories of what had happened slowly played in his mind. He shuddered. The baby dragon responded to his shudder by snuggling in closer to him. Kai sighed.
" I am now the King of Celebrynn..."

The information Zeddrick had given Brielle ran through her head like clockwork. After Zeddrick had told her about the dragons, she ordered the immediate evacuation of the Elemental Riders to where they would meet Ilthazar's new forces head-on. She watched Vanilla and Caramel steadily wait for the oncoming slaughter.
Heero and Cyrus were at her side, as was Zeddrick and Ragnarok. Valo and Angelus were waiting anxiously for these new forces. Scythe watched out for any sign of these new foe.
Suddenly the dragons felt a huge warmth spread throughout their bodies. Ragnarok was the first to say anything.
" The Dragon Queen..."
" Huh? What did you say?" Brielle questioned. Zeddrick looked at his faithful friend.
" She said the Dragon Queen," Cyrus replied, nodding.
" The new Dragon Queen has been born," Scythe added.
" What?" Heero exclaimed. Brielle smiled.
" Then Kai has awakened." She sighed with relief.

Vanilla's voice pierced the morning air.
" THEY'RE HERE!"
Brielle, Heero and Zeddrick all were wakened from their daze. Black figures covered the sky like storm clouds. Brielle unsheathed her sword, ready for the on-slaught.

Then they came.

The new force of Ilthazar's were exactly what Zeddrick said they would be. Dragons, deaf dragons, with Riders that shared mind links with them, attacked. Brielle and Heero were separated by one particular dragon that sped right through their group, causing them to scatter.
" I never thought he would...." Zeddrick started saying to himself.
" He did," Ragnarok replied. They flew over to Brielle and Scythe, carving their path through the dragons and riders. She was having a hard time killing the dragons. The Riders were easy, but the dragons weren't. No matter how badly she drove through their bodies, they just wouldn't die!
" Brielle! Kill them by running through their jaw from beneath," Zeddrick's voice came to her. Scythe rolled obediently and Brielle drove her sword through the beast's jaw. Warm blood sprayed her as the beast plummeted into the forest below. Brielle turned to see Zeddrick.
" Thanks."
" Brielle, the dragon that split our group apart was the one. The one that is 3000 years old. At our present state, there is no way we can kill it. We don't have enough power."
Brielle stared at him stunned.
" WHAT!?"
" You heard."
Brielle swore as she continued killing the Riders and their dragons.
