Heero looks at Vahn with a raised eyebrow unphased by the shot and unphased by Vahn aiming the gun at him...he has steared down a barrel many times...Heero smiled coldly as Vahn withdrew his blades and looked at Heero

'You should of been born with a dogs ability,' spoke Heero as he limped passed him as Jericho watched the two

'What? Why's that!,' spoke Vahn his expressionless gaze turning to confusion

Heero stopped and looked over his shoulder with a slight grin

'So you can lick your own nuts,' spoke Heero as Jericho's eyes widened and then bursted out laughing at Heero's smart comment about what Vahn had said, Heero then keep walking, Vahn looked at Heero with disgust, in anger he threw a dagger at Heero who heard the dagged fly threw the ear, Heero spun around and caught the dagger by the blade and sqeezed it in anger as his eyes grew cold, blood began to drip down the dagger as it cut into Heero's hand, Jericho had stopped laughing and looked at Vahn with a raised eyebrow

'On my ship we are all equal...noone is better than the other...you maybe an excellent assassin which I know is true after seeing what you can do..but guess what...when your shot you bleed the same as us, when you were born you were born the same way as us..hell man you eat and shit the same way as everyone else!...noones perfect not unless you've got your head stuck that far up your arse,' growled Heero wildly

'I didn't say that I was perfect!,' growled Vahn

'You didn't have too,' spoke Heero as he walked away, suddenly he flung his arm back and let the dagger go, the dagger flew towards Vahn in the straight line with a great speed behind it, Vahn dodged the dagger but it slashed him across the arm leaving a deep gash as he moved and it embedded itself in a wooden pole behind him. Vahn frowned

'Dammit I should of aimed,' Heero spoke out loud as he keep walking

Vahn then turned to pull out his dagger only to find that the whole blade had disappeared into the wood and that it was only the handle sticking out, Vahn gradded the dagger, put one foot against the pole and pulled it out using all his strength, the blade gave after three tries and Vahn feel backwards, Vahn then cursed under his breath

'Hey man, if your gonna be apart of the Devils Rose...I suggest that you loose the "I'm invincible and better than everyone else" act...because man thats old and noone cares...,' said Jericho as he looked down at Vahn, 'Oh and by the way...trust plays a huge thing on our ship...and after throwing the dagger at Heero...well that doesn't show much trust,'

'I can handle him,' growled Vahn as he stood up

'I wouldn't say that and anyway...it's not him you actually have to worry about,' Jericho smiled wickedly as he looked at the Rose, 'It's her,'

Vahn looked to where he was looking and laughed, 'yeah right!!,'

Vahn keep laughing as they walked towards the Rose at that moment all canons were aimed at Vahn

'heads up,' smiled Jericho as he walked passed as Vahn stopped dead in his tracks as he looked at them with a look of confusion

'Hey! call off you crew!!,' yelled Vahn as he stared down many canon barrels

Jericho looked at him as he walked up onto the deck

'Um...thats another thing...noones on here...only Zero and well...he's standing up here...like I said it isn't Heero you should be worried about...it's the beauty the floats before you...hey she ain't called the devils rose for nothing..,' smiled Jericho

'What!...so the rumours are true..she does live..' spoke Vahn as he stood there looking at the canons

'Yup!...that she does,' smiled Jericho

'Well call her off!,' growled Vahn

'We'll you see..I can't actually do that...you'll have to wait for Heero..because she won't listen to me this time...especially when there's someone around she don't trust..,' spoke Jericho as he lent against the side, 'Hey man...it's a girl...she'll do her own thing if she knows what she's doing is right...thats why she's a beauty,'

'Rose!...let him go!,' growled Heero as he walked along the dock looking at them, with hesitation the canons were slowly and wearily withdrawn

Vahn looked at Heero who looked at him

'Welcome to the Devils Rose,' he spoke coldly

Vahn looked at Heero and then looked at Jericho who shrugged his shoulders, Heero then walked back along the docks suddenly the canons aimed at Vahn once again

'Hey!,' growled Vahn stepping back

'Rose!,' bellowed Heero as he keep walking, the Rose shuddered as the canons were put away once again

Vey had seen the bandits retreating and sighed as Morgan began to move away as well.
"I DON'T THINK SO MORGAN!"
She gripped her sword and flung it heavily as he turned and shot, her sword sunk into his chest as the bullet ripped through her shoulder. SHe screamed and fell to one knee.
"Bastard..."
She retrived her sword and walked away, she found Heero and the others but stto d and watched leaning agians the side of a building for support, she had almost jumped in when the dagger flew at Heero. She smiled as the Rose aimed at him, she spotted Zero at the helm and smiled more. She walked along behind them unnoticed when the cannons aimed again Heero called her off. She had heard the convosation as well. She walked up behind Vahn and scoffed. She slapped the back of his head roughly.
"Don't think that for one moment I'm a maid..."
She continued to walk towards the Rose and smiled gratfully as it pulled her gentlly aboard. She hit the deck almost instantly as her legs gave out. She looked up as Heero and Jericho ran to her, looking around she frowned.
"W-Where's Katrina..."
Heero looked away with tears in his eyes.
"N-No...Heero tell me she's alive...tell me she's here..."
Heero shook his head and looked back at Vey.
"NO!"
Vey slamed her fists against the deck making them bleed, tears splashed the wood as she cried.
"NO! NO GOD WHY! WHY HER? why not me...."
Vey looked around her and sobbed as she remebered Katrina.
"It's not fair...it should have been me...."
Her vision became blurry and she realized that her wounds were bleeding heavily, the bullet wound in her shoulder was pouring blood down her arm, she whispered something in Heero's ear and passed out on the deck unconsious.

Heero picked up Vey and took her down into her quarters, he then put medicine on the wounds and then bandaged them, he looked down at her for a moment and then walked out, he had to find Katrinas body

Late that evening Heero, Jericho, Zero and some of the towns people had made rafts for those who died, the beach was lined with dead bodies aswell as Katrinas, carefully they placed all the bodies on their own rafts, and began pushing them out onto the water and one by one they set them alite, crys sounded out across the water as people cried for the ones they lost, Heero looked over his shoulder and saw the whole town standing up on the bank holding candles, they then walked down and placed the candles on the water and they drifted out with the bodies, tears fell into the sea

'Come on...lets send her out,' whispered Jericho as they looked down at Katrina, they gripped the raft and began pushing it, the towns people began to sing...a song so haunting and sad for the ones who died...tears ran down Heero and Jericho's faces as they pushed the raft out onto the water and followed it out

'Wait!,' screamed Vey as she ran wearily down onto the beach and into the water where Heero and Jericho stood holding the raft, tears streamed down her face as she looked down at Katrina, she then placed a dark red rose on Katrinas chest, 'Good bye Katrina,' she whispered

'Farewell,' smiled Jericho as he wiped the tears from his eyes

'You will always be known as a pirate of the Rose...and forever may you ride the waters...as an angel...rest in peace,' spoke Heero as if the words kept getting stuck in his throat, he then bent down and kissed her forehead, 'I'm sorry..' he whispered as he pushed her off across the water and lit the raft, they stood and watched the raft burn as it drifted out further away from them. Vey looked at Heero and then gently pressed her head against his shoulder as tears ran down her face

The sky was filled with an amber glow from all the rafts that were set alite, they sat on the docks watching people still grieving over the lost

'Those bastards will pay!,' spoke Heero

'Yes they will,' growled Jericho as he raised his gun and aimed it across the water

'Yes for those who have fallen...we will rise for them...,' whispered Vey

They looked at each other and then looked back out across the sea

'When they return we will be ready,' Heero smiled wickedly, 'the whole town will be ready...'

They stood up and ran into town to talk with the towns people...

Vahn was slightly unnerved by the ship's cannons, but he was usually fearless.


Vahn tags behind Heero, watching him. Vahn liked him, despite acting like he didn't. For some strange reason, Vahn was also attracted to him.

Vahn's black cloak sweeps along the ground, the hood casting his eyes in shadow. So far, no one has noticed the strange color, a deep redish brown. He stops and buys an orange, while they do their memorial to the dead. Vahn shoiws up to see people in tears. He seeks out Heero, and stands there, the fadeing light casting in his face. There are no tears.

"You are one cold bastard." Heero states, almost glareing at Vahn. Vahn shrugs. "you live some, you die some. Life ends, but vengence is forever. Keep that in mind." Vahn stalks away, feeling strangely giulty.

Heero watched Vahn walk away and sit down on a wall not far from the town square

'Don't worry...vengence...it's all I have left,' whispered Heero looking out at the ocean, He walked over to a wall and lent against it, he folded his arms and put his head down as if he was asleep...but really he was listening to what the major of the town had to say

'Hey Heero,' spoke Jericho who walked up to him

Heero didn't lift his head

'What do you think we should do?...I have a plan...if your interested,' spoke Jericho, Heero looked up at him with a raised eye brow

'Well...tell,' spoke Heero sounding interested

'Well what I was thinking is that if we're quick enough, maybe we can use the canons off that captains boat...you know the one Vahn came with...maybe we can use his canons and line them against the wall along the sea side, then we can make ambush parties,' suggested Jericho

'Sounds good enough to me, go and explain it to the Major and see what he thinks...I've got the perfect person for making up long distance ambush groups,' spoke Heero as he looked at Vahn

'But isn't he an assassin?' questioned Jericho

'Yes but he should beable to pull out of this lot a few good long shooters,' replied Heero as he looked at the hills that surrounded the town

'Oh I see...the hills we can use for another form of attack but long distance,' smiled Jericho, 'Cool, i'll go talk to the Major...ah anyway...why am i going to talk to the major?'

'Well for one...it's your plan and two you'd be the best one to get the towns people to agree,' spoke Heero as he walked towards Vahn who looked up at him as Jericho ran over to see the Major

'So your an assassin right?' spoke Heero leaning against the wall beside Vahn as he folded his arms and slightly looked down at the ground

'Yeah,' replied Vahn eating the last of his orange

'So tell me, where abouts on those hills would you be able to get a clean shot of those Bandits without them knowing where its coming from?' questioned Heero as he looked up at the hills

Vahn scanned the hills from under the hood of his cloak, he then looked over his shoulder out at the incove and then looked back at the hills

'I'd say there, there and there,' Vahn spoke as he firsted pointed off slightly to his left and then infront of him and off to the right

'What about ambush teams?' questioned Heero

'Well I'd say two teams down on the beach, four in town and five scattered in the woods around the town so that if one group needs help then there's a back up and if all groups are used then the fifth one in the woods would come out but that would be the biggest,' explained Vahn as he stood up

'I knew you were the right one for the job,' spoke Heero as he walked away

'What?...what job?' questioned Vahn, Heero stopped and looked over his shoulder

'To be in charge of setting up ambush teams and long distance shooters,' spoke Heero

'And how am I gonna do that?' questioned Vahn again with a slight frown

Heero looked at the towns people who were gathering around to hear what Jericho had to say, Heero then looked back at Vahn

'Like I said...I knew you were the one for the job now don't make me repeat that again,' Heero spoke as he then carried on walking, Vahn watched Heero walk over to Vey and then he looked back at the towns people

'He's actually trusting me with something like that?...,' whispered Vahn curiously, 'Oh well...better go see whats going on...and if there's any good shooters in this town,'

Heero then spoke to Vey and Zero about the plan aswell as the other two who stood listening carefully, they needed to get everything set up before the next attack began and Heero knew that it would be soon

"Betrayal is thine sweetest enemy...." Vahn states, with no smile. Vahn moves about the city, watching every movement. He is attacked, by masked enemies. He sustains injuries to his chest and shoulder and leg, thewse wre not ordinary people.

Vahn staggers into a pub, but moves out, and tothe last place he had seen Heero, bleeding profusely.

"What the hell happened to you??" Heero demands.

Vahn snatches Heero in his hands, forceing him to look into Vahn's eyes. Heero is surprised by the color, and how warm they are.

"I was attacked. It is as simple as that."

"you gonna die?"

Vahn snorts. "I wish i could. No, I won't. Now , if you please, i will sew myself up."

Heero can't beleive this boy, his arogance or just how much he hides his feelings.

Vahn snatches up a needle and thread, and takes off his clothes, save a pair of underwear.

[I]"Stupid shit heads........."[/I] Vahn says, angry. The wounds are deep. especially on his leg. He notes that the crew is watching him sew himself up.

"Got a problem?" He snarls, showing contempt, but really feeling scared. The others all look away, but still steal glances at him, looking at the long jagged scars that run along his body, the scars where flesh was ripped away, the scars where he was slashed with knives and swords..

Vahn hurridly places his clothing on again, and begins to hunt for the fools who did this to him.

"I shall return. Make no mistake. Do not follow." He walks uickly away, and feels his sewwing job come undone. He had been sloppy, and the thread had broken.

Vahn seemingly fades into the coming night. He is anxious, but he looks back to the ship, her awsome silouette attracting him. Heero appears from it, following Vahn.

"I said do not follow me."

Heero shrugs. "you're not high tailing it out of here, you are bound to us by the Captain of that other ship."

"Vahn shrugs. "Who says?"

"I do. We can be freinds, if you trust me."

Vahn spits in his own native tounge. [I]" I trust no one."[/I]

Heero smiles, answering back.

[I]"You're alone, what do you have to lose?"[/I]

Vahn thinks of being attracted to Heero. He could not help it, he was likeing him more and more. He did not understand why he felt this, nor did he want to feel it.

[I]"Everything that I am."[/I]

Heero shakes his head. "You are really good in a fight, you know that. You'd be an awsome ally."

"Is that all? Just so I can be your soldier? I will not be some fight dog striveing for his master's attention."

Heero can see that Vahn's mind is always suspicous, always vexxed. "No one is asking you to. I only want more comrades in my journey."

Vahn stands away, like he longs to beleive.

"You're in no condition to fight. Come on back to the [I]Rose[/I] , I'll patch you up myself."

"I already did." Vahn's emotions are draining away again. Heero points at Vahn's leg, then chest, where the red stain on his pants and shirt was growing.

"You're good, but you are too upset to medically treat yourself, or fight and win."

Vahn sighs, giveing up. "Yes," Vahn takes a small hesitant step torward Heero, untill Heero Has his arm around Vahn's shoulders. Vahn is uncomfortable with it, but says nothing.

"You're gonna feel fine by moonrise."

Vahn is unsure if he likes that concept....... the concept of letting a complete stranger take care of him. "You...... will not harm me?"

"You're one of us, we take care of our own."

Vahn suddenly chokes. "but..... I'm a bad person...... I';ve killed people....."

"so have I"

"But, I don't feel any regret...... Why don't i feel bad for what I've done???" Tears fall down Vahn's cheeks, and he looks distraught.

"Come on......." Heero guides the upset Vahn to the ship, thinking of just who this boy was............and what in life had made him so complex and sad and hateful and distrustful.

Vey stumbled here and there looking for the gunpowder Heero wanted.

"Vey, your the quietest one we have, your a theif and a damn good one, I need you to steal on the ship and blow it to hell and back."
"Got it."

Vey found what she wanted and stayed there, she leaned agianst the barrel and closed her eyes. She was tired and in pain. She drifted to sleep and waited for the attack to begin, or someone to find her. Either way, she was probably gonna die anyway...no, she'd live, Heero needed her to live. So, she would.

*NIGHT*
Heero sewed up Vahn as he sat there, he stood up and looked down at Vahn who was checking the stitching

'Alright?' asked Heero

'Ah...yeah,' replied Vahn as he put his clothes back on

'You know...we all have things that we would never speak of...and it's those things that set us apart from one another and make us who we are and what we become...believe me...I have alot of skeletons in my closet that...I'll never tell...and ones that I never want to speak of ever...but we all trust one another enough to know that we'd be loyal,' spoke Heero as he lifted his shirt slightly to check his own wound where one of the bandits had stabbed him

'But why are you trusting me?' questioned Vahn as he watched Heero undo the bandage

'Because I know I can,' spoke Heero as he took the last part of the bandage away, 'I don't judge others who join my ship by what they've done in the past, who they are and what they are,'

Vahn sat and watched Heero as he began cleaning the wound

'I can do that...if you want tme too,' said Vahn standing up, Heero quickly backed away

'Its ok,' said Heero as he quickly and roughly put the bandage over it

'I thought you trusted me?' questioned Vahn

'It isn't about the trust,' spoke Heero as his eyes turned cold and he walked away, 'Jericho I'm just going to check on Vey..keep your eyes open and give me a yell if something happens,'

'Ok,' called Jericho as he walked over to Vahn after hearing the conversation, they watched Heero walk off into the night

'I thought that he trusted his crew?' questioned Vahn as he frowned

'It's not that...,' said Jericho

'Well then what is it?' Vahn asked looking at Jericho

'I shouldn't tell you this but it's the only way you'll understand,' said Jericho as they sat down, 'Heero was raped just recently by a Captain and his crew, they beat him badly and done him over more than once, we don't know how many of them did that but we know that the Captain had his way alot...Heero's pretty messed up more than what he care's to show...so don't take it personally...,'

Vahn looked at Jericho and understood

Heero found Vey asleep on the barrels of gun powder

'Hey,' he spoke softly as he brushed her hair away from her face, Vey awoke and looked up at Heero, His eyes were warm and caring for the first time in a while after what had happened to him

'Heero...' she smiled

'Are you alright?' he asked gently

'Just tired and sore,' she replied as she slowly stood up but nearly colapsed, Heero caught her and she looked up at him, with one hand he took off his cape, wraped it around her and lifted her up, watching her carefully for any reaction that might make her feel uncomfortable but there was none

'Heero...I can stay here,' she spoke with a yawn

Heero smiled, 'No, I can get someone else....I need you rested and ready to show those bastard what Vey Flower is made of...and believe me..I think you've done that,'

Vey smiled at Heero as she rested her head on his shoulders, Heero then took her back to the Rose where everyone stood waiting, He walked passed them and put her in his quarters

'I know this is proberly the last place where you'd want to be...but at least I know your close by,' he whispered to her as he lay her on the bed, Vey looked at him and smiled

'It's ok,' she said, 'But just don't leave me behind,'

'I won't...I'll wake you as soon as something happen's but you need rest..I'll be right out here if you need me,' he said as he walked to the door, 'Just live ok..because your the reason why I do,' he spoke with a deep sadness in his eyes after remembering how he hurt her, he winked at her and then left the room, Vey smiled softly and drifted off to sleep..she felt safe something she hadn't felt for a long time

The moon was straight up above them making it proberly around midnight

'So when do you think they'd be here?' questioned Jericho who stood beside Heero

'Any time soon, keep your eyes open,' spoke Heero as his eyes casted over the water, they were cold and distant, and his expression lost

The sky becomes dark, and distant lightning flashes, the roll of thunder soothes Vahn, it makes him feel more alive.

"Raped......" says Vahn. "I've been raped.......lots of times..." Vahn seeks out heero, but stands apart from him.

Vahn's sensitive ears pick up the sound of loose sails, and he looks across the dark water.

A magnificent ship, but ancient and weather worn, with tattered black sails, sails the sea.

Vahn's throat catches.

"Mother.........."

Heero looks at Vahn, he didn't know he was there."what???"

Vahn becomes distant, staring at the abandoned ship. Heero sees what has Vahn upset, And his jaw all but falls off. "That's......"

Vahn becomes cool and harsh. "The Lady Yumura's Rose."

"Yumura????"

Vahn smiles. "She's been abandoned on the highs seas for over ten years.....she holds only one person.

Vahn smiles ar Heero's conderned expression. "My mother....."

Heero stared on as the ghost ship passed and there he saw a ghostly form of the lady standing and waving, Vahn waved back with tears in his eyes

'If I remember rightly it was Revonairs brother who built her but he died before he could get her a float so he handed it over to your family and named it after you's,' smiled Heero as he watched the ship sail ghostly around the harbour

Vahn looked at Heero, 'How'd you know?'

'My father told me the story...he had seen it once..but I was asleep at the time, it drifted passed and she waved out,' smiled Heero remembering the night his father told him, Heero then turned away at that moment canons sounded in the distance

'Oh shit!,' exclaimed Jericho from the crows nest 'Here comes the bandits!!!,' roared Jericho as he made his way down the mast, Heero quickly woke Vey, she was still a little tired but she had more strength than before, Heero jumped down from the ship with his sword drawn with the others right behind him

'Quick! get to your places!!,' roared Heero as the towns poeple quickly moved and suddenly eveything went quiet as the bandits aproached with their canons shooting at fresh air and their loud war crys sounded over the canons as they drew nearer

'just wait until they get a little closer, before firing,' said Heero his eyes focussed on the ships approaching them.......

Everyone was on edge..waiting....waiting....

'FIRE!!!! ALL!!,' roared Heero as row boats came towards them...*BANG* roared the canons as round two started

Vahn sighs, the memories of the past would have to wait.


Vahn joins in the battle, and it goes on for hours. But, eventually, the bandits retreat, and shortly before sunrise.

Vahn retreats as well, but into The Devil's Rose. He wanders her dark halls, her corridors that seemingly invite darkness and light.

Vahn moves back to the deck, where Jericho is watching the water. He does not speak to him, but only stands beside him.

"shy?" Vahn is taken by surprise at this word.

"No....... no. I just have no words to say."

"It figures."

Vahn Looks out across the water, and sees the distant form of The Lady Yumura's Rose. Clouds hang over her it seems, and follow the forsaken ship where ever she goes.

"Mother...." Vahn watches the ship float closer, and closer. There is figure in white among the black wood of a partially ruined ship.

"HARD TO STARBOARD!!!!!" Someone screams, but it is too late. The [I]Lady [/I] rams into the [I]Rose[/I],but they do not sustain much damage. The [I]Lady [/I] and the [I]Rose [/I] however entangle their mastings, binding them together.

Vahn was thrown to the deck, but looks up to see the figure of a woman in white, looking at him from the forward deck.

[I]"My Vahn....... My little Vahn....."[/I] she calls. Vahn is in tears, but does not go.

Hero appears from no where. "Go to her... Put her to rest."

"That ship is the becon of Death......There is nothing on that ship..... it's been abandoned.....

Heero puts a hand on Vahn's shoulder. "But it's not uninhabited...."

The wispy figure on the opisite ship fades, crying.

Vey was still on this damn ship.
"Damn...damndamndamn!"
She slipped away and into another corridor trying to find a way out, and trying to keep her blood off the floor.
"Shit...damnhellshit..."
SHe looked around the corner and saw nothing, she knew that only a fw remained on the ship but she still didn;t want to tango with them in her condition.
"This is SO messed up..."
SHe rounded another corner and stopped, a bandit blinked looking at her and sneered.
"So one was left."
Vey looked around and saw an opening above her.
"And the one was gone!"
She leaped up and way into the rafters.
"You friged little bitch! Get down here!"
Vey stuck her tounge out and giggled as he became beet red.
"Only if your fat ass can catch me!"
He growled and Vey looked around, the sun was coming up, time to make the move. She jumped down and ran for it, taking a gun from he rack she ran for the deck and on the way lit the gunpowder.
"Rot in hell assholes!"
She leaped from the deck and into the water, spreading her hands she whriled around and watched as it blew to pieces. She swam forward and popped out of the wter. Her wounds had reopened for all the running but she had done her job, she could hear the cheers from the shore and the calling of everything she held dear to her.
"VEY!"
She looked up to see the Devils Rose and another ship tangled, a rope let down for Vey to climb up on, she stumbled a little and braced her-self on the side, looking around she spotted Heero and smiled as he winked.
"Good job."
She nodded and smiled, holding her shoulder she watched Vahn. Woundering what was happeing.

Vahn stared at the ship, memories flooding into his head. He is suddenly cold.

"that ship is dead. Whatever is there isn't human."

Vey appears from out of the blue.


"you're lying."

Vahn looks at her, his strangely colored eyes filling with tears. "I wish i was.....How can i face her? I'm not her innocent child anymore....

"She's your mother.......She'll love you no matter what."

The wispy figure appears again, calling in that strange language.

[I]"Vahn...... come to me Vahn......."[/I]

Vahn is torn by indecsision. He finally leaps up the [I]Rose[/I]'s masting, and ofer onto the other ship.

Vahn takes it step by step, the dust lifting.

Vahn looks around, the [I]Lady Yumura's Rose[/I]'s black wood, her once majestic sails, and her aged conosence.

[I]"Mother???Where are you mother?"[/I]

The figure appears again, holding her arms to Vahn.[I] "My baby...... My little Vahn....."[/I]

[I]"Mother...."[/I] Vahn runs to her, but is unable to hug or embrace her.

Vahn's mother takes on a more physical form, no longer wispy.

[I]"I'm sorry....... My baby..... I left you... I didn't want to.... Please understand that...."


"Mother..... I can't touch you........."


"I'm dead....... but I'm held here..... By forces I dare not speak of......Please, leave now......."

"No!!! I'll save you!! I swear!!![/I]

Vahn tries to hug her once more, but passes through her.

[I]"My Vahn, Leave here now, while you can. I don't want you to join me here....."[/I]

Vahn cries. [I]"No! I'll find a way to get you out.... I'll free you."[/I]

[I]"I am held here, bound to the body I no longer have, the bones that i was once bound by flesh to.....Leave, before the ships separate......"[/I]

"I'll find them!!!" Vahn hurries below the decks, away from the fadeing woman.

She looks to the Devil's Rose, at Heero. Her voice has a strange pitch and tone when she speaks next.

"Help him, please."

Vahn himself runs therough the ship, looking for his mother's remains.

He finds them, hidden in her own bedroom. He picks them up, and carries them to the main deck, and flings them in the ocean.

"Good-bye mother....."


Vahn makes his way back to the others, silent as a predator.

Jericho stood still and watched the waters , he looked at Hero.

" Heero somethings not right it's been too quite after Vey blew that ship too hell." said Jericho.

" I know they must have some counter attack or something on it's way."

A small raft of a dozen bandits was comming to the side of the Rose, Heero and Jericho would be the first to encounter them.

" Well boy's it's time to sneak aboard and slaughter the crew ! " smiled a disgusting yellow toothed bandit. Clank went the grapling hook as it connected with the side of the Rose. One by on each bandit got aboard unsheathing there hidden dagers and swords. Soon enough a fearfull war cry of the bandits was heard, Heero and Jericho looked directly at one another.

" Oh shit it looks like we have company." snarled Jericho.

Jericho aimed his pistol at the first bandit nailing him on the forehead, Heero unsheathed his sword , as well did Jericho. Heero and Jericho rushed into combat, it was two on eleven! The two fought hard making sure that no one else would die today, Jericho and Heero fought with the determination that no one else would die today , except bandits. As their swords cut down two more bandits , it made no difference that it was still a numbers game.

" Tch , it's only nine bandits left." Jericho said as took a split second to take in some air.

" Jericho shut up , there is no time for talk." yelled hero as he killed another bandit.

Unknowingly as the two continued to fight a second wave of bandits were ready to take on the crew of the Rose.

Heero pulled his gun and fired upon the next lot that boarded the ship, the Rose began to shudder as the bandits piled aboard, it's ropes began wrapping themselves around the necks of the bandits and snapped them violently ripping them apart

The others then joined the fight, Heero fought violently beside Jericho

'Dammit!!,' roared Heero as he slashed his way through the bandits, suddenly a sharp pain swelled in his back as a loud cheer came from the bandit who had driven the dagger into his side

'I GOT HIM!!!...I GOT THE CAPTAIN!!,' roared the Bandit as Heero dropped to his knees, 'THE SHIPS OURS!!,'

Heero was wild with what the Bandit had said

'HEERO!!,' yelled Jericho as suddenly the bandits wrapped a rope around his neck and he was lifted off the deck and up into the air as they had thrown the rope around the cross part of the mast, Jericho began to choak

He then heard Veys scream as they grabbed her, Vahn was doing his best to kill them but it wasn't working, at that moment two men entered the ship and began shooting at the Bandits, the towns people had also joined, Heero looked at them, they were built like houses, they almost looked like twins, except one had along beared the other didn't...Heero recognized them..it was Byron and Tanzin, they were loyal friends of Cliffs, he remembered meeting them several years ago, they were around the same age as Cliff and were built like him, Heero suddenly stood up and turned on the bandit who had stabbed him and slashed off his head, he cut down Jericho and ran over to help Vey, he began pounding the bandits who had touched her, while Byron and Tanzin throttled the last remaining bandits then...it was over...there were no more Bandits left...they were all slaughtered

Heero lent against the mast and looked around, Jericho was now laying on the deck trying to catch his breath back, Vey sat on the stairs up to the wheel deck, Vahn lent against some crates and Byron and Tanzin cheered

'AH!!..LITTLE HEERO!!..GOOD TO SEE YOU LAD!!!,' they smiled as they walked over to him and hugged him...more like crushed him....Heero let out a painful cry and they looked at him,

'Oh lad they got you pretty bad,' spoke Tanzin as he looked at Heero

'I'll be ok,' smiled Heero as he slid down the mast

'We heard about your father...and we heard about Cliff...both were great men...they didn't deserve to die,' spoke Byron looking at the Heero

'No they didn't,' whispered Heero

'Well...we have come to join you lad, to honour their memory...your father and Cliff would turn in their graves if we didn't,' smiled Byron

'Thank you,' smiled Heero, 'you don't know how glad i am to see you two,'

They laughed, 'thats good to hear,' smiled Tanzin

'You've grown so fast since the last time we seen you, your a very handsome lad...you top your father anyway and as i may add he was very handsome,' smiled Tanzin, 'Lad he'd be proud of you,'

'Thank you,' smiled Heero

He introduced Tanzin and Byron to the others and they began to clean the ship up.

It was late that afternoon when they recieved an invitation

'Heero what is it?' questioned Jericho looking at Heero's expression as the boy who brought the invite ran off

'They're holding a huge celebration in the town square to honour those who were lost and those who lived, it's a victory celebration, it starts at sundown,' explained Heero looking at everyone

'COOL! A PARTY!!,' shouted Byron and Tanzin

Heero smiled at the crew, 'Looks like we're the main guests,'

OOC: Byron and Tanzin are brothers old friend of Heero's father and Cliff....by the way there's a celebration...the bandits are dead so there'll be no more war in this town ok...Hey got to have fun somewhere along the lines!!..LOL

Vey ran over to Heero as he talked with the twins and smiled up at him.
"Heero! We won! We won Heero!"
She looked at the brotheres as they gave her a warm smile and looked at Heero.
"That your lass Heero lad?" Tanzin asked.
Vey found her-self blushing madly.
"Uh...Um.....Heero?"
A loud bang was heard from the shore as the towns people began the celebration, Vey blinked and left Heero to talk to the brothers as she ran ashore with Jericho. They reached the shore and smiled as the music began. SHe grabbed Jericho's hand and began to force him to dance, the sparkle replaced in her eyes, she was actually havign fun for once and enjoying it.
"Come on Jericho! You can dance right?"
SHe laughed as Jericho stumbled and fell, she looked at Heero and smiled warmly.

[Galvatron]

" Haha funny I fell." Jericho said very sarcasticlly as he got back on his feet. Jericho walked over to get something to drink.

" It's been a while since I had a drink nice and cold." Jericho took his sweet time and made sure he tasted every one last drop. He asked for a second drink and drank that one just as slow.

" Oh right two is enough for me , don't want to make a idiot out of my self." He looked around and smiled as he felt relived that trouble was over for one night.

[Heero Darkangel]

Heero smiled as he watched everyone from the the table as he drank but a handle and slammed it down on the table with a smile

'Well lad!..see you've picked up your fathers habit!,' laughed Tanzin as the two brothers slammed their handles down on the table

Heero looked around and saw Vahn sitting on the wall, He stood up and with a jug in his hand he walked over to Vahn

'Hey,' spoke Heero as the music played in the backround

Vahn looked up as Heero handed him a jug

'Drink up,' smiled Heero, Vahn looked at the jug and then took it, it skulled it back and then put his head down again, Heero sat beside him

'Why don't you join in,' asked Heero

'I don't do dancing,' replied vahn harshly suddenly a broad shouldered belle walked over to them

'Oh come on sweety lets dance,' she cheered as she grabbed Vahn and dragged him towards the dancing crowd kicking and yelling death threats, the lady laughed and started finging him around like a rag doll, Heero laughed, he looked around and saw Vey standing in the crowd smiling at him, he smiled at her and then gave her a wink, she blushed, she then walked towards him and he watched her evey step, she was beautiful...he just wished that he had opened his eyes earlier, his heart missed several beats as she drew closer and then sat down beside him

'Now why aren't you dancing?' she questioned as she looked at him

'Because I'd rather watch you,' he spoke softly looking away, Vey smiled as she saw his face redden and she lent against him at that moment a beautiful slow melody came on, it was a song for the dead, Heero stood up and stood infront of Vey, he extended out his arm and bowed

'May I have this dance?' he asked her, Vey blushed and gently accepted placing a hand in his and they walked over to the slow dancing couples and joined in

'Why...I didn't know you danced,' smiled Vey as she looked up at him as he placed a gental hand on her hip hoping that he wouldn't make her uncomfortable

'you never asked you just asked why I wasn't,' smiled Heero looking down at her warmingly, and for once the warmth stayed, they could hear Jericho chatting up some girls who all cheered as he told war stories and drank, Vahn was still yelling at the girl to let go but she just laughed and Byron and Tazin were arm wrestling with the towns people and laughing

Vahn is finally able to get away, and he seeks out Vey and Heero.


"You [I]shomai!!!!!!![/I] Vahn is furious, he received no help.


"I should kick your hide!!!!" Vahn spits. Vey drops Heero like a bad habit, and laughs.

"you're just mad 'cause you wanna sulk abouty the past!" Vey grabs Vahn and proceeds to dance with him, and Vahn is speechless. He has no idea how to get back at her.


"LET ME GO!!!!!" He cries, but Heero joins in. Vahn is them completely helpless, being passed back and forth between the two.

Vahn becomes redder and redder, more and more embarrased. He soon is gotten.....


Tipsy.


Vahn begins to dance funny, like a stripper. He smiles micheiviously at Heero, deciding this was perfect for revenge.

He leaps onto a table as some strange slow music comes on, and begins to show just how agile he really is, before grabbing Heero. "Come on, it's my turn to dance with you......"

Vahn begins to absolutly mortify Heero, and Vey can't beleive her eyes, she laughs so hard.

Here was Vahn, usually so cold and stiff, danceing like a vixen. Heero finally just moves with Vahn, making Vey laugh even harder. Vahn has great stamina, Heero can't keep up.

"What's the matter sugar, tired??" Vahn is laughsing, but it's slurred slightly, like he's beginning to wind down.

"you've drank to much."

"Yeah.....I have...... Vahn sits on his lap, and puts his arms around him. "you're great........ It's noi wonder i decided to be your ally..... I thank you for being my freind....."

Vahn is sudenly up and away again, danceing. The twins see this as an opportunity, and begin to dance with Vahn.

It makes people wonder about their sexual preferences......... Heero was still slightly shocked abot Vahn's advance, buty he dismissed it as Vahn being drunk.


O.O.C perhaps Vahn will have hangover from hell in the morning.........

Vey wiped the tears of mirth from her eyes as Byron and Tanzin danced with Vahn, she looked over at the water and gasped.
"Heero! Look!"
She ran over with Heero a step behind her, no-one else had followed. Many whales surfaced and sang as the migrated to warmer waters.
"Their beatuiful!"
She looked up Heero and blushed, the moon light danced in his eyes. SHe looked up at it and cupped her hands over her mouth and howled startling Heero. She laughed and nugded him.
"Come on try, it's fun! They'll answer you back."
She redid this and smiled as a distant howl was heard. She leaned against Heero putting her head on his shoulder and nothing else, knowing he was still body shy.
"Heero...are you still having nightmares?"
Heero blinked and looked down at her.
"How-?"
"I''ve heard you yell at night...I sometimes sit under your window and listen to see if they get to bad...I've woken you up hundreds of times, you ust never knew it...the knock on your door two nights ago, that was me...and the bird by your window that you threw the shoe at...yea, me too."
Heero stared at her in disbelife.
"Why didn't you just come in?"
"I was afriad of frightening you more and I know how you react to situations like that. You lash out."
Heero thought on this a moment and nodded. He blinked as something hit him.
"Were you the one playing the flute? I heard a flute in my dreams the other night..."
"Yea, that was me. I know you like that tune, so I played it while you were sleeping."
Her eyes were soft and lined with tears.
"You didn't deserve that Heero, what happened to you...you of all people didn't deserve it."
She turned and faced him looking up at him, tears tracked her cheeks.
"Vey? Whats wrong?"
"I miss her Heero!"
She buried her face in his chest and sobbed.
"Why? Why did she have to die? Why not me or one of the bandits?"
Heero stroaked her hair gently and held her close as his own eyes welled with tears.
"It's alright Vey Flower...It's alright...she fought hard and did what she could. She lived happy."
Vey looked up and closed her eyes as Heero wiped away her tears. His eyes were warm and held none of the fear as before when someone touched him. She threw cation to the wind and stood slowly and placed a gentle kiss on his lips, she puled back blushing.

Heero looked deep into her eyes, his heart beating fast and his hands became clamy and began to shake...he wanted noone else but her...and it scared him all memories flowed back into his head, the laughing, the grabbing..the pain, their faces ran across his mind and he blinked them away...the only face he wanted to see was Veys...swallowing hard he put his arm around her waist and drew her closer, her body pressed against his, she could feel his heart racing and his muscles tense and then he kissed her passionately for a while...his body trembled...suddenly feeling himself beginning to loose control he quickly pulled away...scared of hurting her, His face was red and he rubbed the back of his neck

'I'm sorry...' he whispered looking down, Vey smiled at his shyness

'Heero don't be sorry...I love you,' she whispered her voice sounding like a perfect melody

'And I love you..' he spoke looking at her with warmth in his eyes, 'It was always you Vey...I just wish I had opened my eyes sooner...I didn't think that you felt the same...so I supressed my feelings...I'm an idiot for doing that because I hurt you,'

Vey slowly walked towards and grabbed his trembling hands, 'I have loved you for a very long time..and yes it hurt...it hurt badly...but I love you and that will never change,'

At that moment they heard voices coming towards them

'Heero do you trust me?' she asked looking deep into his eyes

'I've always trusted you...and you know that,' he replied looking down, she then pulled him towards the water, 'What are you doing?'

'Come with me..there's a small island just out in the water, it only has a couple of trees on it,' she smiled warmly, 'I just want to be with you without any distractions,'

'Ok,' he smiled as they ran into the water, it was warm and felt good, Heero dove under the water and came up beside Vey as they swam, they could here the voices echoing across the water, they crawled up onto the small Island and flopped back on the sand laughing, she had never heard Heero laugh like that for a long time, He sat up and looked back at the distant Celebration, people were still drinking, dancing and cheering, Vey sat up and saw how happy he was, his eyes sparkled in the moonlight that reflected off the water and he turned and looked at her

'How do you do it Vey?...When I'm with you...I feel free...alive...you set me off in a world where it's only you and I even though there could be a crowd around...you make my heart skip so many beats that it feels as though it's going to jump out of my body and run away..you make me forget what happened...,' whispered Heero as he smiled at her

'Because you do it to me...I guess thats what love does and I couldn't image myself not feeling it...esspecially now..in this moment...I can't imagine a world without you,' she smiled as she blushed, Heero also turned red as he lay back down and put his hands behind his head and looked up at the sky, so perfect and calm

Vey slowly moved closer to him and lay down then rested her head on his shoulder, he didn't jerk or pull away

'You make me tingle all over when you touch me,' spoke Heero as he looked down at her, She cocked her head and smiled at him as she gently placed a had on his chest and he bruahed the hair away from her face, 'Your beautiful Vey Flower,'

She smiled at him and kissed him gently on the lips

Back at the Celebration Jericho began talking with the girl he had met in the bar, while Vahn still danced with the two brothers, all were drunk and having a good time something they all needed

Vahn begins to wind down, so he heads outside. He hears vey and Heeor talking, so he dodges behind a wall.

"You're as beautiful to me as the danceing moonlight....." Heero is wooing Vey, Vahn listens, not understanding. He wonders what they must be feeling, to be like that.

There are some muffled noises, like they are kissing..... or something more. Vahn listens intently, wondering why he felt his rather merry attitude sinking. He pondered this, this emotion stuff.

Vahn listens more, and Vey and Heero talk more.

"So, what do you think about Vahn???" Heero asks, his question singing into Vahn's head, rather elating him.

"He's something....... and so alone......."

Heero sighs. "Please, explain."

" I know how he is....... He's so cold...... so emotional.... but he hides it, or separates himself from his feelings. He is ...........complex as well."

Vey suddenly giggles. Vahn's curiousity skyrockets.

"what's so funny???" Heero demands, sounding slightly annoyed.

"He likes you...... though i know he won't admit it, even if he does figure it out that he does. I think he's wondering why he feels attachment to you."

"Hmph. I might like him as well, but not like that."

Vahn starts, and a rock skids across thew ground. Vey catches this, Heero does not.

"So, " Vey has a strange tone, "Tell me, what do you think of Vahn?"

Vahn's heart stops, Vey knows he's there.

"He's..... good. He's an assassin, but way too emotional at times. He was crying earlier, asking why he felt no guilt over what he'd done... and then there was his mother......... He's got problems, but he'd make a good freind. I hope he at least knows he can talk to me about stuff..... Everyone needs a freind like that."

Vahn feels as though he is being led astray........ or to someone's heart.

"you're a good man...." There are more sounds, sounds that now break Vahn.

Vahn's eyes fill with tears.

"there is no room for me in his heart..... no one's heart can let me in......." Vahn runs as fast and as far away as posssible, not looking back, for fear he wouldn't have the courage to leave.

He seeks the [I]Lady Yumura's Rose[/I], and she shudders as Vahn climbs aboard. She does not make a move to kill him, but it seems she wants to comfort the last of the Yumura line. He was now her master, her proprietor. The ship begins to change, and it's moorings let go of the [I]Rose[/I] as he moves upward into the crow's nest. He crawls in ad curls up, only wanting to die. "Someone please help me... he whispers. The Lady's black tattered sail repairt themselves, ropes reattach, fires light in hearths, the ships' black and dusty wood becomes restored to is majestic glory, as if it think that Vahn needs to see it as it once was.

Vahn peeks out, and sees the ship. There was no hints to the past, the bloodshed this ship was famous for..........

Vahn stands, tears still poring from his eyes. "I am a fool...... But am I in love? I am am....... I am a fool indeed."

The Lady groans in disagreement. Vahn smiles, the ship was telling him otherwise, that he was not alone, that he would find love."


O.O.C if you try to get on the ship, the lady will attack you. Only Vahn can invite you onboard. Amnd right now, he wants to be alone. He's not leaving, either.

Vey smioled wickedly and straddeled Heero's waist.
"So tell me something dear Heero..." SHe placed a hand on either side of his head." Do you know what happened now?"
He cocked hi head sideways and tenesed a little.
"No."
"You...LAUGH!"
Vey attacked his sides tickleing him and making him laugh out loud, he rolled over ontop of her and sighed as she lay there contenet.
"Heero, if you could go anyplace in the world where would it be?"
SHe closed her eyes and listened to the ocean.
"I'd go to the new lands, where no-ones ever been, and see what I can find."
SHe opened her eyes and blushed as he brushed away her hair. She leaned into his hand and smiled.
"Heero I wnat you to be happy, not just you the whole crew, I want to see you smile alot and laugh alot too. I try my best to do that for you. The crew wants you happy Heero. The Devils Rose wants you happy."
She linked her arms around his neck and looked up at him.
"Are you Heero? Are you happy with me?"

Heero looked down at her and smiled, as he got lost in her eyes

'With you yes,' he smiled as he kissed her gently, 'I'd die for you Vey Flower...I'd fight for you...I've never felt like this before...you make me run wild...in your eyes I get lost...it's as if you make me melt inside everytime I see you...I love the feeling I get when I'm around you..you make me want you without even trying,'

Vey wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his head down and kissed him passionately and Heero returned every kiss. The waves crashed on the sand and surrounded them

'dammit!...I've got sand up my shirt,' laughed Heero as he stood up and tried to shake the sand out and out of the blue he unbuttoned his shirt and took it off and began shaking it, Vey watched him...this was something Heero hadn't done for a long time, she could see the scars from where they dug their nails into him, he was still a little bruised..but Vey was caught up and how he looked...watching him made her heart jump, he suddenly turned around and looked at her, Vey smiled as he sat back down beside her, she grabbed his hand and pulled him back down, Heero lay on his side cocked up on one elbow looking at her, he then ran his index finger down her nose which twitched and down over her soft lips where he circled them

'I could lay here forever with you..' he whispered, Vey pulled him down and kissed him again, they kissed passionately and wantingly, Heero's heart raced her touch..everything made his sense's go wild...and he loved it

Vey rolled him on hs stomach and sat on his butt.
"Vey Flower...what are you doing?"
"Shh, you'll see."
She bent down and began to kiss every scar and bruise, from past to present.
"Do they hurt you much?"
"Only when work."
Vey began to knead the muscles in his back til he sighed and relaxed, she rolled off and lay on her side looking at him.
"Heero...I love you."
He smiled warmly and she smiled back, she looked at him and she saw his eyes light up with the look reserved for him alone. he rolled ontop of her and kissed her neck lightly sendign shivers through her body. SHe smiled and arched into him, she bent her head down and mimicked his action agianst his neck.
"Mmm, that feels good Vey Flower..."
"That's the point Heero dear."
She bent one knee between his legs adn smiled as he looked down at her somewhat shocked.
"Vey..."
"Heero, I'm fine, it's completely up to you...only if it's what you want."
"Vey..."
She captured his lips with er's agian and nibbled on his bottom lip sendign shivers throughout his body making him tremble.
"It's your choice Heero."
She felt his hand run up her side and into her shirt, she arched t encourage him.
"It's all up to you Heero Love."
He looked down at her and she met his gaze with her own.
"It's all up to you. If your ready..."
SHe put her head under her chin and nuzzled him much like a cat would do and kissed his collar bone.
"It's your choice."
