Chibi Devil Me
Sailor Moon. Right off the bat. #1. Why? Because Sailor Moon introduced me to the whole category of Anime. I started watching it everyday. Since then, most of my time was trying to find tapes so I could tape the episodes, rather than eating Cheese Puffs all day. :o Hehe... Well, there is more, but Sailor Moon is the main one.
Billy Shears
It all started when I was on vacation 2 years ago. A little show by the name of Trigun was on at 12:00 at night. After watching the episode B.D.N, I grabbed a sheet of paper and a pencil and immediatly tried drawing Vash the Stampede. When I got back fron vacation, I had my dad buy my a "How to draw Manga" book from Walden in the mall. From there on, I started buying Shonen Jump and reading Naruto was like the hi-light of every month. After I started getting recognized at school for my drawings, one thing was clear: I wanted to be an animator for the rest of my life. PS: Read Balinese(sp)'s post about Rem. Its beutiful! What is it about Inuyasha that makes it so appealing? What were you like pre-Inuyasha-fied? I haven't watched much Inuyasha so I don't know anything about it. :)
Sailor Moon. Right off the bat. #1. Why? Because Sailor Moon introduced me to the whole category of Anime. I started watching it everyday. Since then, most of my time was trying to find tapes so I could tape the episodes, rather than eating Cheese Puffs all day. Hehe...
Sailor Moon was my first anime too! It wasn't what got me into watching Anime, but it was a show that clung onto me even until now! What did you like about Sailor Moon and why did it appeal to you so much? Myself, I just liked the character development and the diversity among the scounts. That and Ami-chan was cute. *heh* (Hey, I was what.. eight? Can't blame me. :P) ___ As for myself, Anime that influenced my life would definately have to be Gundam Wing. Gundam Wing helped a friendship evolve. With Kevin, truly one of my closest friends, I would not have been able to bond or even talk had it not been for the many debates and philosphies from Gundam W. Constantly debating and idolizing, we were both Wing fanatics when it was dubbed. Without it, my life would definately be a lot different. Another might be Fushigi Yuugi... Using the Mysterious Play as a backbone of conversation, I got closer to the person who quickly became my current girlfriend and love. :) -ArV
DragonessFei
I would say that the anime that has affected my life the most is Cowboy Bebop. Before I saw the show, I wasn't very fond of any other kind of music such as jazz. I only listened to rock and rap music. Through the cool sounds and tunes of the series I have come to appreciate different types of music. (I'm a jazz maven now. ^_^)
Kidate
The anime that has affected my life is Inuyasha. I really don't know how but it just does and did. It must be how many sides he has to him thats got me. :D I don't know but its there ......I feel like a miko. :wigout: But yes Inuyasha has affected me!! Most likely by his bad boy thing he's got going on, on thee outside. Then his all soft on thee inside!! :excited: Yep thats gotta be it!!

Heero Darkangel
Well Gundam wing has inspired me alot even though i didn't watch every episode actually i hardly ever got time to watch it only listen to my mate tell me...but anyway it's inspired me to try and make up a cartoon series to do with robots and pilots, it's brought back a creative side which i thought that i had lost. Also it's got me thinking about joining the air force, you see i've always wanted to be a pilot every since i was little, sometimes i find myself late at night staring up at the sky or even on sunny days...it's quite fasinating how animes can change your life around
ryo_sagara
My question is have any of you otaku out there heard something from an anime that has completely changed your life? (or manga.) Mine would have to be 'no one ever has the right to take the life of another' and 'our ticket to the future is always blank.' The reasons being that I respect (and sort of love) Vash from Trigun because of how crappy his life is he still uses these sayings to an extreme and I figured that I could probably apply these things to my life as well in small and large ways. I always think twice before squishing spiders...infact I go out of my way to help them get outside.^_^ The second saying has really impacted my life because if you really understand it, it's basically stating that you can do whatever you want and aren't condemed to slave for that goal for the rest of your life and it's opened doors for me to try more things... Have these types of sayings effected you in any way?
eleanor
When I was first introduced to anime [DBZ] I got obsessed with it and started spending all my time on the internet looking at anime things. My science grade sort of died and my math grade got stabbed to death. Joy! And then I started to get cynical and thought I was too good for anyone who thought anime were cartoons...and got arrogant. On the plus side, I started drawing. :)
Vash IDK
You know, I guess the one that really got to me was Dot Hack. I can kind of relate to Tsukasa. Not that I've been abused or anything, just, I've felt very lost and aone sometimes. I thought it was better to shut out the world before it shut out on me. I have been burned countless of times, from friends, and people I thought were really close to me. It actually happened to me all at once. I got out of that slum though before I saw Dot Hack. I got myself out of it by not thinking about it. I got out more with people I could really trust. When I watched Dot Hack, I have to say, I just about broke down and cried. I rarely do that though. I'm kind of emotionless when times seem toughest for me. But when I watched it, I got this feeling that I didn't understand. It was as if it had brought up a lot of memories I had pushed away came rushing back. But what was amazing was that I wasn't bothered by the past anymore. I guess through getting to know new friends, really saw me through the problems, and helped me gain back the self confidence I lost. I guess it wasn't the "Anime" itself that did this for me though. But watching Dot Hack actually made me realize how far I had come. :)

EVA Unit 100
Spirited Away obviously affected my life. Without it, I'd have never liked anime in the first place! :D .HACK//sign also affected me quite a bit. I was surprised to see a cartoon on TV so deep and confusing and serious, and I liked it! However, Evangelion has had the biggest impact in my life. It really changed the way I thought about, well, almost everything!
miss_adriana
yes dbz (which my little brothers were way into) did it for me. it was the first anime thing i ever saw and it totally turned me into an anime person! then i was obsessed with every thing anime and it inspired me draw more because anime is just so darn cool to draw :D. anime makes me happy :)
Guest Sean
Ah for me, Digimon. That was my most influienced anime, thats all i ever talked about, apart from [DBZ - but that was when i was 7]. Digimon changed my life, because my first love was in there. Sora. I don't have a clue know, but she was my first love. Then she broke my heart and went off with Matt in the 2nd series. Oh Joy. IceRose
The first anime that i really dug into was the DB series. I started watching it when i was a kid, and it started my love for anime. It inspired me to watch many more animes like Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, and stuff like that. Ill sometimes surf the TV channels and find some animes on the korean/japanese channels, they arent that great compared to all the other awesome animes. But anime found its way into me, and i have the urge to know much more about it.
More in lines of the rurouni, I liked Samurai X better( more blood) That is what influenced me the most, the battle scenes and the tragedy of all. Camlaren
If I said Sailor Moon would you think I'm insane? It caused me to become the freak that I am today! :D (Ok, so maybe I would've become one anyway...) Sailor Moon was the first anime series I watched and only series I watched where when seeing the last episode - after waiting to see the 5th season for YEARS - felt like an era was ending (other sereis have been better, and with better endings, but I've been able to watch them so quickly it wasn't as profound to see the ending to Sailor Moon), I had liked Sailor Moon for about 8 years untill I got to see it's conclusion. ;_; I didn't want it to end! *shrugs* But after that I was able to move on to other anime because the spot Sailor Moon had been in was empty... How about I said Gravitation? It caused me to become the obessive shounen-ai and yaoi freak ^__^ Not only that, but made me even more understanding on the issue of same-sex relationships :) That's about all I can think of... and they weren't really earth-shaking, were they? Guest tenken87
I know many will say something of the sort but DBZ really inspired me.Goku was a character who was larger than life.Whatever he set out to do he did.Nothing ever got in his way,and besides how many people would give their life for the sake of the world wothout giving it a second thot :D
keisuke shuuken
Love Hina, one of the best and shortest manga/anime ever, somehow(very weirdly)soothed my infernal rage while the girl I liked told me that she hated me...
Guest Asimov
At first, before I was an anime guy, I found Dragon Ball. Plain Dragon Ball, not Z or GT. I fell in love with the series, the perfect music. The sometimes silliness. It was perfect. DBZ came soon after, but didn't compete much with DB. Then DBGT came and was just pretendous. After awhile, I found out about Cowboy Bebop, which, I'm sorry Dragonball, is top. Sometimes I pop in one of my DB tapes, and they're even better after you haven't watched em for awhile. But I have to say that Dragonball and Cowboy Bebop touched my life in a way nothing else can. But who knows, maybe I like DragonBall better than Bebop...they match up pretty damn well with me. :)
Sephiroth_unite
The one anime, or I should say one manga that has affected my life to live it the way I do know is my absolute favorite LOVE HINA I know it's a shojo but still even the childish comedy will get to you. It made me laugh, cry, get angry, and still kept me captivated to obtain every thing to do with love hina. I love manga so very much that I try my hardest to become a sucess story like Keitaro Urishima and Naru Narusegawa. But yet I know that if I do become sucsessful like them I won't know what to do next so I live my own course letting the spirits guide me on my way. natetron46
I would have to say that Inu Yasha efected my life the most. One time I was up late watching adult swin for some US animated show, and I stayed up late enough to watch this wonderful anime. I loved it, and that was the jumping point out into all of my future anime advenures! :) It was what got me hooked, and I still love it, definitely the one with the most impact. poo62.2
I think dragonball z affected my life the most because before i watched it i didn't like anime, i just thought anime was stuff like pokemon, but when i saw dragonball z i realised that anime was cool and wasn't all to do with little monsters and stuff like that Thank you for providing a detailed reponse. ^_^ However, in the future it would be nice if you tightened up your posts a bit (i.e. by using capital letters every so often). Guest Danni
I personally find that Big O had the most effect on me. I've only seen 2 episodes, but then researched more on the show and found how really great the plot is. I saw this one where Angel finds out that
she's not human and there's this old man with her eating tomato soup and then that phsychopathic woman (with the strange accent) explains how Angel's a "tomato" and has no memory.
cool ney? What about you? (oh and if you could explain more bout Big O i'd be much appreciative. Thankies)
