]I'm curious as to how I am to get people to signup for my rpg in the inn. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't know if I'm supposed to do anything special or not, but I can't seem to get anyone to signup for it. Last time I got on (about a year ago) I had about five signups by the end of the day. Well... I thought I'd ask to see if there was anything I could do, though I dout there is. It's no fun if your the only person in a text based rpg.

Frankly, if you've given The Arena a glance or two, you'd have noticed that there are about a hundred .hack RPGs in progress.

Also, if you've been following any of the other discussions in the underground, you'll have read comments from people on OB regarding relatively unsuccessful RPGs. Things such as your paragraph-long story, which is not only tiresome on the eyes but for the mind as well, fail to create a world in a which your participants would inhabit. While I believe (I don't know anything about this .hack business, but I assume it is all based on an anime show or manga) many people assume there is plenty of backstory to this .hack thing, just throwing down a paragraph and hoping for the best is perhaps not the best way to go about it.

I would check out some of the other discussion in The Arena Undeground, especially ones where the moderators have given their input on the matter, and give your RPG some thought.

Cheers,
Phil

Well.... heh, that kind of caught me offguard. Thanks for the advice though. I'm sort of new to this and i havn't done any adventuring things online at all. I've done a few successful fights but that's about it. Well thanks anyway. But one thing. I'd suggest not letting yourself sound so mean. I don't know if that's how you meant it, but with the whole "frankly" thing happening it kind of came that way. (just a hint so don't get mad about it or anything please)

[COLOR=SlateGray]Well I noticed something about this RPG.

I was going to join even if the story seemed very jumbled and unorganised it did have promise.
But when I looked through the sign up and noticed 'Abilities' )I think that's what it was anyway)...well, even though I play .hack I don't know anything else other than Repth, La Repth and Vak Kruz and those are simple.

You should always leave your RPGs open so that people who haven't played the game can also sign up without too much trouble, by adding this section people need to know the game well and it put me off straight away.

But that's just how I feel, good luck with the RP though, I hope it goes well.
