Main sat in the lobby, waiting for his form's verification. Of course, it had to be HIM that got saddled with this job. Oh, no, they couldn't pick that guy with the spiky blonde hair, no, he was busy saving the world from a falling meteor. Main sighed and turned in his seat to the guy next to him. The man, about eighteen or so, had a large gash extending across the bridge of his nose and under his eye, and he carried the wierdest sword Main had ever seen, some sort of cross between a gun and a blade.

Main: Why couldn't you do this job?

Man: ....

Main sighed and turned away, picking up his extraordinarily large sword and heading towards the counter, pulling out a card on the way. The instant he got there, an odd, white teddy-bear bat-looking thing with a pink fuzzy on its head handed him his forms, a bright red "APPROVED" stamped on them. Main sighed and sheathed his sword and placed the card back in the deck. No sense in killing needlessly. Main exited the City Hall of the Kingdom of Kingdom for the monster-infested streets and strode off to the nearest bar.

Of course, this being an RPG, Main didn't get two steps before the world spun like crazy and he ended up facing something extraordinarily large. Finding himself with his sword held out in front of him, Main found he could not move. He tried his best to dodge the creatures attack, but failed and ended up wounded.

5 HP Damage

Main stared at the little white number hovering over his head before he heard an odd "ting", and suddenly, before his very eyes, appeared a small list of commands.

Attack Defend
Card
Swordplay
Magic

Main shrugged and mentally chose 'Attack'. Without cause, he suddenly found himself launching forward, jumping into the air a bit, and bringing his blade down on the enemy. Main stared as his sword left a white slash trail in the creature that vanished, but little else. Above the creature appeared a similar phrase to his.

600 HP Damage

Main stared again, in his original postion on the "field", which he just noted expanded in all directions and had little in the way of landmarks, as the creature entered its death throes almost a full thirty seconds behind his attack. Main looked up and saw a white message in a blue box appear.

Main defeated Ogre! 30 EXP Earned, 50 Gil Earned, Potionx2 Obtained!

With that, the world faded to black and Main found himself once agian walking the streets. Shaking his head, he headed for the bar.

Gods knew he needed a drink!

Tilbie hummed and walked down the street, heading towards the direction of the bleeps and cursing.
She rounded a corner to find a man standing above and disappearing monster, a large sword clasped in his hands.

The girl cocked her head to the side and smiled brightly, bouncing over to the man and waving cutely.

"Hi there, my name's Tilbie, wanna be friends?"
"....?"
"You beat that monster good, let me buy you a drink!"
"My name is Main Character, but you can call me Kit if you buy me enough drinks."
"Hiya Main!" she shook hands and 'boinged' again, before starting to walk towards the direction of the nearest Inn.

"Oops, we made a wrong turn, sorry!" she laughed sheepishly but as soon as the duo turned around, sods law kicked in and the whole street span, battle music playing relentlessly.

"Oh, for crap sake!" Main cried out, his sword drawn in the same position as before, he looked to the side and saw Tilbie bouncing in one place, her staff out in front of her, a wide smile on her face.
"My cheeks hurt..." she moaned, still smiling.
Main frowned, "Then stop smiling, you look stupid!"
"I can?t, this is how I always am..."
Main tried to sweatdrop but stayed in the same place, he cursed mentally wondering what in the hell was going on, just as he was hit by the creature in front of him.
"The hell?!"

9 DAMAGE

Tilbie giggled and crouched low, selecting the 'BLACK MAGIC' option in front of her.
She raised her staff and a fireball grew from it
"How do ya like this?!"
The spell engulfed the monster in front of the two and it screeched, disappearing as the street returned to normal.

"Now, where were we?"

OOC: This is gonna be one strange RP....and I know they don't die that easily but too bad!

Meiko walked through a large open field. She whistled an old tune as she put a slight hop in her step. Suddenly a black swirling mass covered her vision and when she could see again there were three large blue birds(Thrustaevius') in front of her in a row and she had her staff in one hand in a fighting stance, learning she couldn't move.

"Not again!! How many of these things do I have to go through to get to that stupid town?!" she cried angrily.

There was a small 'ping!' and the list of commands appeared in front of her. She chose the 'Red Magic' command and selected Thunder, making a gesture and pointing with her staff at the Thrustaevius in the middle.

50 HP Damage. The small white numbers appearing above it's head.

It screeched angrily before falling to the ground and fading away, and the other two of them took their turns at spinning and bombarding her from above.

"That hurt!" Meiko yelled, selecting Thunder from the Red Magic list again, hitting the bird on the left.

55 HP Damage. Meiko watched the digits appear above the bird's head.

It cried out before hitting the grass like the other and faded away.

The last bird crowed angrily and bombarded her from above again.

"Bye, Bye Birdie!" she called, rushing at it, pulling her staff apart into the blades and slashing twice at the bird.

The numbers 50 HP Damage appeared as she made the two slashes.

It cawed and died.

There was a message in white writing in a grey box above her that she craned her head to see.

Meiko defeated Thrustaeviusx3! 60 EXP. gained! 60 gil gained! Shear Featherx2, Potionx2 obtained!

The screen changed back and Meiko shrugged, continuing on her way, hoping to meet some people that could help her in battles.

Another slow day in Fourth Avenue Café. So far, there?ve been only 10 customers since they opened the café 2 hours ago. Their eleventh customer has been there for an hour and ordered only a cup of coffee. Fille was eyeing him from behind the coffee maker for thirty minutes now.

Hmm? maybe he?s waiting for someone. Then again, maybe not. He looks like someone with lots of time to kill. Right, he?s a bum then. When is he going to order cake?

She looked at Manager, who was reading the paper in one of the tables.
Suddenly, the man stood up. He gave Manager a quick nod and ran for the door.
"Oi! Fille!"
"I?m on it!" Fille jumped from behind the counter and ran after the man. Darn these people! Don't even know how much a good cup's worth!
Suddenly the man stopped. His brown overcoat swept gracefully as he turned to face her. He started walking towards the girl and only stopped an arm's length away. "I don't get chased by beautiful women often," he said as he tipped his hat. "Good morning, ma'am."
"Hey, that coffee was worth 50 gil!"
The man grinned. "I've no gil with me right now. Perhaps I could pay in kind?" And with that, he closed the gap between them.
Fille's lips curved into a smile.

100 EXP gained! Exeter obtained!

Fille entered the café and laid a silver shotgun on the counter. ?Hey Manager!?
Manager emerged from the kitchen carrying a tray of small cakes. This man is the owner of Fourth Avenue Café and Fille calls him Manager. He?s still in his early twenties and can bake really good Castellas!
?Fille, I hope you didn?t make him pay---? His eyes traveled towards the rip on her dress. ??Oh, so you did.?
?Um, well, he said that he doesn?t have the money so??
And she smiled sweetly.
?Ah, well.? Manager picked it up and examined the shotgun. "My, my? You've really outdone yourself this time, Fille,? Manager chuckled as he handed the shotgun back to Fille. ?That? that is an Exeter. One of the best shotguns around.?
Fille replied with a blank look. Manager shook his head and smiled.
?Um? keep it!? She jumped to the other side of the counter and busied herself with brewing coffee. Manager, dumbstruck, stared at the shotgun for a longish time before going back to the kitchen with it.
The bells chimed and in came a customer.
?Mornin?! Welcome to Fourth Avenue Café!?

(OOC: Hey, can somebody be the customer? Please? :love2: )

Walking out of the forest, after running away from various creatures to keep her strength, Talisman looked around and had seen that she had arrived at a small town. Before entering the town, Talisman pulled down her hood and unwrapped her mask. She then dusted herself off and set foot towards the town. She arrived with a jaded look upon her face she entered the town and finally noticed that she was parched.

Looking around, Talisman had found a small café and entered. The place seemed empty and a bit quiet. Too quiet for her likes, yet she shrugged this feeling off and walked to the counter. A bright and perky girl welcomed her to the café.

"Mornin'! Welcome to the Fourth Avenue Café!"

Silence came from Talisman. With her face hidden away, there would be no mistake that anyone would recognize her.

"What can I get you today?"

"Iced tea with lemon."

Nodding, the girl went away to her work. But, she kept looking back at Talisman. The girl thought nothing of it, but still eyed her. She came back with Talisman's drink, who took it and drank away in a manner unlike the others.

Once finished, Talisman payed for her drink and walked out. As she did, 2 spider-like monsters appeared from the ground and faced Talisman, who groaned. She couldn't escape this fight.

A young teen raced down the street, his old tophat bobbing up, down and around. It had a hole in it on the side somewhere, and a large open flap up the top, which looked like it was trying to talk as it flapped with the air rushing past it.
Girr Kid was running from a Cockatrice, which rarely appeared in this town, but eventually, if you ran around in enough circles in the same general spot, popped up. It only did that when you were weak and tired from battles though, so it had a huge advantage.
Not that it wasn't strong enough in the first place.

"Help meeeeeeee!" he screamed comically, running with his arms trailing behind him in a flailing manner.
Then there were some beeps. Girr stopped running and listened.
There! And again! Someone was selecting commands during a battle!
Girr listened harder. It sounded like it was near the Fourth Avenue Cafe.
"Don't worry, I'll come and help!" he called out, but got no reply, since the character battling was stuck in their battle stance, and could only hear what was happening within the battle area.

"Hiya! Can I help you?" Girr asked as he slowed down, taking his fighting stance next to the other character, who had just attacked one of two freakishly large spiders.
"No..." she said when she appeared out of nowhere, and got back into her fighting stance.
A small screen came up in front of Girr, and it showed him three commands:
[Attack]
[Summon]
[Item]
He subconsciously hit the "attack" button, and ran forward.
"Oops!" he cried. Battle-cried, that is. As he ran up, he took off his huge tophat and pulled out an extendable-punching glove, which he used to hit one of the spiders with.
A white number appeared above the monster's head:

9 HP Damage

"What?! You came to help me?!" shrieked the woman, who looked quite tantalising, to admit the truth.
"Well I thought I could give my input...and I need to gain some EXP., so I can gain a Level."
The woman sighed and rolled her eyes, but remained in her battle stance.

This was getting ridiculous. Main ran through the streets as fast as he could, trying to avoid battles as best he could. He wasn't watching where he was going, and he was barely aware of Tilbie doing her best to keep.

So, naturally, he ran right into the crowd in front of Fourth Avenue Cafe.

Within seconds, he found himself behind a pair of odd spiders with two people, a child and a woman, facing off against them. Main looked up and saw yet another one of those odd messages appear in the sky.

Pincer Attack!

Main, of course, stood in his sword drawn position. He mentally noted that he'd have to change it somehow or his arms would get tired in a long-winded battle. Once again, the command screen appeared as the chime was heard. This time, however, Main selected "Card".

Main: Dwelling within the heart of darkness lies victory! DARK MAGICIAN!!

A tall, purple-robed elfin mage appeared as the message "Dark Magic Attack" appeared at the top of the field. The mage pulled back his staff, causing a pulsating glow, until he thrust his staff forward, the blst nailing one of the spiders.

258 HP Damage.

The spider fell even as the other woman began to chant. Somehow, Main knew instinctively that his turn would come soon, but before it reached it, the woman's spell was complete.

Talisman: Vulcan's fury be upon you! Fire!

187 HP Damage

The black magic singed the spider, but it wasn't enough to kill it. One look at the creature's carapace told Main he would be unable to hack it with his sword, so once again, he selected Card.

Main: I don't rub salt in wounds, I use sulfur! MOLTEN ARROW!!

No message appeared this time as a mountain apparently rose from the ground, spitting lava to and fro until one particularly sharp projectile speared through the spider's back. The instant it hit, the mountain disappeared and the damage message appeared.

122 HP Damage

Main and party defeated Arachnia! 250 Exp. earned, 300 gil earned, Bracerx2 obtained, Potionx1 obtained!

Main stared at the cafe as the world returned to normal.

Main:What the hell have I gotten myself into?

With a scowling look upon her face, Talisman looked to the two characters and growled. She did not speak to the two characters who helped her in her fight. She merely took one glance at the two and walked away. Before she had left, she dropped a coin, a poisoned and cursed coin for that matter, purposefully so that one of the characters would pick it up.

As predicted the Girr character had seen the coin and picked it up. He shouted after Talisman that she had dropped something, but she was too far away to hear anything. Before they knew it, a swirling wind of dust appeared around Talisman and when it had subsided, she was gone.

With a smirk upon her face, Talisman reappeared within the forest. She looked around and saw that the forest contained just what she was looking for,

Smirking, Talisman, with her face hidden, left the scene. As she did a strange swirl of dust appeared around her and when the swirl subsided, she was gone. Breathing deeply in, Talisman reappeared in what appeared to be the outskirts of a black market city, right across the town where the Fourth Avenue Café was in. Nodding to herself, she entered.

Eyes were peeling away from their business and regular duties as they looked to the strange new woman entering their hometown. This was never awkward for her, considering the fact that all eyes were constantly upon her as she walked to wherever she may wanted to go when she was in her position as the first born of King's kingdom.

Walking down along, a rogue fighter had came across her path. He beckoned her to follow him. Not knowing what would come next, Talisman followed.

"Redemption. Retribution. They are one and the same, a silver thread shot through blackness. The blackness is my soul, though behind it looms the light that welcomes when the past is rectified-"

"Etc, etc. Why are you still here? And put that down, you'll hurt yourself."

Kjaeric R'al Xei sighed, and lowered his hand, claws curving gracefully to rest on the much pitted leather that bespoke many a musing and mournful pose. He alighted from his roof top perch, looking reproachfully at the other speaker, his heart bleak in his eyes, his hair flowing out behind him, blood red cape whipping around him despite the complete lack of wind.

"You disturb me again Vincent, and still understanding eludes me like spiderweb threads, visible only when your light chooses to illuminate them, but covering me, inescapably, nevertheless."

Vincent rolled his eyes, slightly amused that his replacement goth idol was doing so well, partly in sympathy for the people that had had to put up with him for years. He wasn't really too concerned about his charge though, since they wouldn't really be running on a time frame until that aggravating monotone shouter with the grey hair and eye patch got her "Time Junctioning" machine up and running. Having spent many years with Cid, Vincent had seen dodgery machinery to every extent, but this had to take the cake. Of course, it was actually just a time travel machine, and something of a plane hopper as well, but they had to name things oddly here. Just another secret to add onto Kjaeric R'al Xei's broken, tragic past full of unspeakable horror and misdeeds, leaving him full of secrets and the need for redemption. Of course, Vincent had set half of it up, being a lot better at that kind of thing than Kjaeric was, but that was another thing.

Kjaeric rose and spun, flicking his cape out, the corner missing Vincent's eye by the width of an interposed hand. Sighing, Vincent remembered he had to give some kind of cryptic advice, a harbinger of some dreadful fate awaiting his charge.

"Remember, the demons within you do not sleep, and your redemption waits not in your soul, but in your body. Blood runs true, yet another fate lies in store for you. Form is not spirit, but yours must be both. Go in blood, come back in both."

Kjaeric nodded, once, and turned, walking away in apparent slow motion, one of the hardest tricks to teach someone to do conviningly. Mainly in terms of getting your boots to echo properly. Like every other melodramatic, melancholy action, Kjaeric managed it perfectly. As if that wasn't enough, he was actually alright in a fight as well.

Which was a good thing, given the hell house. Hardly a fitting opponent, in fact one of the most ridiculous possible, but Kjaeric was taking himself seriously enough for the both of them.

His speed gauge flashing full in front of his eyes, he ducked under a lazy bomb and drove his claws in several times. Not even bothering to look at the damage, he walked away, feeling his experience increase and a small amount of extra weight in one of the many extra-dimensional pockets that were requisite of all people in his profession. Most people used them to pull things like huge sword out from at random intervals. The alternatives weren't pleasant. Kjaeric used them for various other things, since his weapons were fairly light. At the moment, there was a small menagerie of ice weasels in one of them. But that was another matter.

Stepping into the machine, and hearing "RUN", and a slight bump, and "Ouch, that hurt, ya know?", the world shifted, swirled into a spiral that froze for a second, and then he woke up somewhere else.

"Oh...stupid Main....where'd he get to now?" Tilbie grumbled as she looked around the crowd, desperately trying to find that man. She failed and fell off her perch, much to the delight of the person whose head she had been using.

Tilbie cracked her neck and knuckles, flicking her long blue hair over her shoulder.
"Why is everyone always in such a hurry," she got strange stares from people nearby as she continued the conversation with herself,
"I mean, the world isn?t going anywhere anytime soon...so why waste your life running around and fighting big monsters?"

"Would you like to buy something?"

"No thank you."

"Are you sure?"

Tilbie turned to the man who was trying to sell her something, she pouted and crossed her arms,
"I don't want anything!" she poked him in the forehead, "Ya hear me?!"

The man paused and smiled, "Would you like to buy something?"

-_-

Tilbie continued to walk, annoyed that she had been caught up in such a pointless conversation. Before she even noticed where she was going, the girl hit something, something bouncy...and soft. She blinked and squeezed the bouncy wall, before being smacked hard in the cheek.

"Owie?!"

"Ya pervert!!" a girl stood in front of Tilbie, holding her chest protectively and scowling.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." Tilbie blushed, "I didn't realise you were a girl..."

:twitch:

"Eh hehehehe...."

Needless to say, Tilbie wanted to join the girl's party.

OOC The girl is supposed to be your character, Ohkami, hope you don't mind, lol.
