The worst anime

The worst anime I think is this anime show on one of the weird channels from India or some place in the Middle East. I didn't get to see the shows name but the animation was awful and though it was all in a different language, I could tell that the sound was very poor.

The show looked like it had been put together in some guys basement or a school toilet (now that?s bad!)

Another Awful anime is flint the time detective. How on earth could a Stone Age boy grasp modern life so easily? And that talking hammer, that?s just complete rubbish. And every episode is based on the same structure:
Go back in time
Find the time monster thingy
Meet a famous historical character
Petra comes along
Turns monster into big scary monster
Flint saves the day.
Repeat.

Well DUH, if im not msitaken, Flint was a North American only release, becouse i dont think that somthing so retarted could come from japan, couse the dubberes are usuaally what kill an anime, not the producers, couse honestly there arent to many anime's that are horrible, it is usually the voices, i advise jsut watching subs.

the only problem with subs is if you have a dub that you like then you watch the sub then go back to watching the dub you usually don't like the dub much anymore... thats what happened to me with Inuyasha I had seen a few of the dub and really liked it then when we went to our freinds house they had some of the sub so we watched that... when I got home and got to watch Inuyasha again (they didn't have Cartoon Network because we were up at their beach house) I relized how of all the voices were... Inuyasha sounded awful... and Koga just scared me

One word (or is it three?) Yu-Gi-Oh! My experience with that show was, like, ten minutes, and then I immediately changed channels. Other bad animes...let's see...Aeon Flux is pretty bad, mainly because the story is so convoluted you can't tell what's going on. Pokemon is obviously one of the worst, for the same reasons a Yu-Gi-Oh! DBZ, and all of it's different incarnations, because if you've seen an episode, you've pretty much seen every episode. I'll post again or edit this if I think of anything else, but it's hard for me to hat an anime unless it's really, really bad.

Young Lord....I HIGHLY disagree with you on the fact that the DBZ series is the worst Anime. Your wrong...if you see one episode of DBZ you HAVENT seen the whole series. DBZ is very well done ...and the episodes are exciting.
And DBGT does have it's weak points but no way is the series horrible...I TOTALY disagree with you.
One word (or is it three?) Yu-Gi-Oh! My experience with that show was, like, ten minutes, and then I immediately changed channels.
In my mind, ten minutes does not constitute a proper experience, especially with such a long-running series. I absolutely hated Digimon when I first saw it but when I actually bothered to pay attention it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was, and it ended up becoming one of my favourite programmes. I'm not saying your opinion isn't valid- 4Kids have certainly carved up YGO a good one- but ten minutes is barely even half an episode. If I based all of my anime opinions on that much time I'd probably hate everything; even series like Trigun and RahXephon have their bad parts (or certainly parts that I prefer to skip through).

Anyway, I'd have to agree that Flint the Time Detective is one of the worst animes I've ever seen. The whole premise is incredibly childish and it looks worse than even the Dragonball serii. The episodes have no variety and the characters are disgustingly one-dimensional. Not nice.

Shin Chan is another of my most hated. I just don't like the idea and the writing disturbs me. Not to mention I can't stand watching anything in that animation style for more than ten seconds anyway. Yuk.

Heh,same thing happened to me. Actually, I'm going to quit wacthing the Inu dub and start wacthing only sub. (Maybe even raw if I learn enough Japanese.) How can I do that you ask? Well, you can download Inu-Yasha episodes off the net. (I'll post some links if you want.) Oh,and are you going to buy the unedited Yu-Gi-Oh coming out soon? Just wondering. (Sorry if I was off topic.)

I don't really think that any anime or manga show really sucks, except that one, never mind. Maybe it's just that some of us are watching animes meant for younger kids that could care less about the plot and others. Except SD Gundam. That just made me crazy, discracing the good name of Gundam! :flaming: Luckily we have the ability to strike back at such shows  !
The only other thing I don't like is the one episode where Megas XLR makes fun of Halo. Halo is a highly respectable video game, easily outdoing any giant robot show (except the Gundam series).

Hey, thats not illegal... it says it has full liability rights to each and every anime episode, and pay full royalties to the companys from the donations (non-manditory). Just saying that it wasent illigal.

Please people! Have a sense of humor! Parody is simply a way of getting humor off an existing source, and is not always insulting. I mean, if it was saying "LOL Halo sucks" then it would be an insult to the game, but the episode wasn't doing that. It was just intentionally copying the events of the game with a sense of humor. I know that George Krstic and Jody Schaeffer, the creators of MEGAS XLR, are huge fans of Halo and did the Halo spoof as a tribute, not as an insult. Also, since they know the game so well, it gave them an easy time making jokes related to Halo. The show has also spoofed Cowboy Bebop, Gundam, Godzilla, The Big O, Transformers, G-Force, FLCL, Clerks, Celeberity Deathmatch, Downtown, The Matrix, Star Wars, and mutiple other things. The creators like those things, they know about them, and they spoof them. Simple enough.

Yes, you can. That's the kind of thing private messages are for. And just to make it extra-clear--links themselves are not forbidden, as there are times when pointing out a specific site may help someone resolve an argument or provide pertinent information. However, linking to illegal material (including fansubs) is not permitted.
Come on, DBZ is soooo redundant. Geez how many different ways can you punch a guy, give me a break, it is usually the same old thing show after show.
True, but you just described nearly every shounen action series on the planet. While I don't personally care for DBZ, I have noticed that a lot of people scorn it without even bothering to watch ten or twenty episodes in sequential order--often the same people who adore extraordinarily repetitive shows like Inuyasha. Does DBZ really screw up in some significant regard (i.e. plot, characterization, and so forth) or do anime fans just like to hate it because its popularity?

Lynn Luck, please PM me, Solo or Queen Asuka the next time you have a question (so as not to drag this thread off-topic). To be honest I'm not quite sure what you're having trouble with--if you want to create a regular hyperlink, use the globe button in the WYSIWYG editor.

The #1 worst anime would probably have to be Beyblade. It really never made any sense whatsoever.
In 2nd place for the worst anime would be FLCL. It doesn't really have a plot that actually shows in just one episode. You have to watch the whole anime to be able to see what the actual plot is. (American Anime never can make it to the level above "good" rating)
The third anime that has earned my vote of worst anime is Please Save my Earth. Okay Okay, it exactly an ANIME but it's close enough to it. That story has got to be one of the weirdest things I've ever read. It's just really, really weird...

I'd have to say that the worst anime ever is Yu-Gi-Oh!. I suppose it's just because the prospect of watching a bunch of people dueling with cards doesn't turn me on. I mean, it's watching people play a game, which isn't a very fun activity. All things considered, I've never seen the Japanese version. Perhaps it could change my mind.

As for Dragon Ball and it's sequels, I really don't think they're that bad. The only real problem is its longevity, which is due mostly in part to its slow pace. It usually takes 10 episodes for the show to get anywhere, but at least I'm interested during those episodes... At least for the first time I watch them.

I loved dragonball Z but hated GT. I actually did not like the Buu saga of Z either. Personally the best was the Sayan and Freeza Sagas. but anyway Yugi-oh is actually so bad that it is funny. How could someone possibly believe that someone can take over the world with a card game, it is so dumb.

That's probably true. Dragon Ball Z/GT is not entirely bad. It's just too long for some people to actually watch all the episodes. I admit I didn't watch everything but for the most part that I did, I enjoyed it. (thinks of the fat Majinbu or whatever the name's spelled =B)

And Astro Boy is not the worst either. I totally thought it sucked, too, just by seeing the quality of animation (think long noses). Now I've only seen an episode and it is a good one. It's dramatic and touching...so let's not judge an anime only by the way it's drawn.

I don't have any worse animes to contribute on this thread since I wouldn't know for sure if they're bad... because if I don't like it, I don't watch it... so I don't have the right to say they're bad. ^_~

You gotta remember that Astro Boy is a classic story. It's like looking at 1988 Akira, and comparing it to the re-make! There are differences in image quality, but that's due to the time between the two.

Anyway, back to the thread!

Anime I can't stand is the stuff they first brought to the UK. Things like Pokemon, Digimon, and Sailor Moon! Oh and Cardcaptors was a mess! They should have just brought over CCS. Better story, better voice acting, better everything!

But, give me GW, Trigun, and Yu Yu Hakusho any day!!!

Anybody can say pokemon is the worst, because it is. But you have to understand there is a whole other world of bad anime out there. I is intersting how each DBz and Gt Saga is weirder and less cool than the last. Or maybe I just out grew it i don't know.
Now to go into detail why i think Yughoh is actually a stupider show than pokemon. In pokemon the initial concept of catching animals and forcing them to fight one and another, is not so bad. It is just the lame ness of the charachters and the animals themselves that bring the show down.
Yugioh the concept is just totally lame. A card game Wow!, big deal. and now they add that cards hoave the power to rule the world. Give me a break! I think the creators were playing too much Magic the gathering :nope:

Sailor Moon isn't that bad! Gezzz, but I do have to admit, that the sub is alot better then the dub. And for DB/Z/GT you have to watch more then one or two episodes to appreciate it. Pokemon and Digimon were and still are, great shows. Yu-gi-oh is awsome, but it's more about the people and the history of the characters then the card game.
