If you're gonna count any anime that has a church in it, throw in Hellsing. I'm sure your mom would love you watching that. haha Chrno Crusade has a lot of blood and killing in it even though the main character is a nun. I'm sure Christian mothers wouldn't want their poor little children being exposed to that kind of stuff.
True. ^^;; Very true. I'll keep it away from small children, don't worry. Haven't seen Hellsing yet. (Looks interesting...)
i don't know any others......sorry...
That's as well as may be, but please don't post like this in future. This really is spam- it's too short and doesn't add anything helpful to the topic anyway. If you want to go with the rule that if it has nuns, priests or churches in the anime it has some sort of Judeo Christian influence in it I guess you could count InuYasha, Tenchi Muyo, and Sailor Moon.

Tenchi Muyo, well, Tenchi's grandpa is a shinto priest so I gues that counts.

InuYasha because of Miroku. Okay so he's a monk, but it's close, right? I think in some ways InuYasha has positive vaules in it because the message is no matter hwo different you are there are still things you can do. Or mayb eits that you shouldn't judge people because of how they look (case in point the episode with Juganshi)

Sailor Moon would be for more reasons. Hino Rei/ SailorMars attends a Catholic school which has nuns (even though she's training to be a shinto priestess)./ Rei's Grandpa is a Shinto priest (even more lecherous than Miroku) And there have been a few episodes involving churches-like the episode where
Eudial discovers that Haruka and Michiru both are holders of two of the Talismen and lures then to the Marine Catherdral which is a church being built.
It even has Eudial playing an organ and angels.
Shinto is not Christian....
No, but Cathlicism is a form of Christianity and there are a few scenes in a few episodes I mentioned.

Besides, I was going by the person who figured that if it has priests (no religious denomination given) nuns or a church it would be acceptable.

I figured back in 10th grade the first time I saw SailorMoon subbed that Shinto wasn't Christian.

Just because there are no biblical or Christian references in an anime doesn't mean that the anime does not teach Christian values. Despite the vast differences between Shintoism and Christianity, the religions have many of the same values. I have learned many good things, that I have even discussed with people at my church, from anime that have nothing to do with Christianity as a religion at all.

I have kinda of that same problem. My parents are very religious (especially my mom). when pokemon was big, my mom called it "the devil's playground." my dad isn't as bad, although i don't think i'd be able to get something like yu-gi-oh or inuyasha past him. basically, it's the magic thing, although my mom does have a problem when there's too much violence. (it's b/c of my dad i've gotten to see movies like the mummy, star wars, lord of the rings, etc. most of which my mom doesn't know we have!)
so, for me, the easiest thing is to just keep it a secret. although that doesn't exactly fall under the catagory easy. it also means i rarely ever get to see shows eps of inuyasha and yu-gi-oh (i've only seen two eps of inuyasha, but the other day me and my bro bought the first movie, yay!, and it's currently stashed in my backpack) although, my mom has seen some of my drawings while digging through my stuff, and had this rant about how wierd i'm drawing people, with big eyes and all that. i just made sure she never saw them again...
i guess you could say this isn't exactly on topic, just my rant about my parents and how my like sucks. :( i can't say i can think of an anime that would fall under my parents good side. there doesn't have to be christianity in the show, more on the side of no magical/mystical stuff (you shou'da heard my mom when the lord of the rings movies came out and were big, and my family wonders why i listen to my headphones all the time!) and not TOO much blood and gore. basically excessively gorey scenes, i myself have a personal limit. and i consider my parents VERY religious, so something along those lines, (if it can be found) should also. also, without any bad portrayals of christianity.
me, i'm hooked on yu-gi-oh and inuyasha and couldn't live without them. so i'm just stuck with my own little secret life that my parents hopefully never find out, although sometimes i wonder how much longer it'll last...

p.s. man, this is a huge post...can't believe i typed that much!

Kala, I feel sorry for you. Not wanting violence is understandable and could allow several animes to get by, but not wanting magic OR violence makes the selections of anime your parents would allow you to see extremely limited. If it was just nonviolence they wanted then you could easily pass My Neighbor Totoro or Kiki's Delivery Service by them but since those contain magic (and in the case of Totoro, Shinto beliefs) that might piss off your extremely strict parents. Lupin III and Azumanga Daioh don't have a lot of violence or magic, but both series have some ecchi humor and occasional bad language that might prevent you from being allowed to watch them (plus, if giant floating alien cats count as magic, then you'll have to cross several Azumanga episodes off the lift immediately). Perhaps your dad might be able to sneak you some animes (since you liked LotR you might enjoy Record of Loddoss War, and since you liked Star Wars some sci-fi like Gundam might be good). It may be the only way you can watch any good anime without being badly punished.

Thank God that my parents let me watch Evangelion. I can't say that many 6th grader's parents would allow that! :D

I'd recommend Rurouni Kenshin. It's not specifically Christian, but it has themes of repentance. Kenshin lives his life to protect others to atone for killing so many in his days as Hitokiri Battousai. It's not overly violent, though there are some violent moments. There's no nudity to speak of either. Some swearing, but all uncut anime has swearing.

only anime things i can think of that would be christian friendly(no nudity, little language, and such) would be Love Hina, FLCL(i think), and Azumanga Daioh. like otaku princess said, Mr. Kimura is a pervert, and ive only seen the first DVD, but it looked mostly tame. one thing i for sure dont reccomend is Chobits. it seems to revolve around Heidaki pervertedness at first, but it later turns into a 'boy meets robot' show, with a twist.

There are a lot of Christian undertones in a lot of different anime series/movies.The Japanese seem to love undertones in everything they watch, whether is be Christian, some other religion, or some other reference. Maybe the reason you see Christianity poking its head through a few series is because you are somewhat familiar with the religion and can spot subtle motifs/imagery.
