Guest shadowmatrix
This christmas is gonna be a battlefield for systems. That is why i would like to know what game you are waiting on the most. Me personally is NFL Street 2. I considered myself with my NFL Challenge squad an almighty force. Shinmaru
Resident Evil 4 is the game I'm most anticipating, but unfortunately, it's not coming out until after Christmas, which makes me sad :( I'm going to have to wait a while until I can pick it up. After that, Metroid Prime: Echoes has piqued my curiosity. I'm eager to see how Retro Studios has improved upon the build for the original Metroid Prime. The dual worlds concept, while not the most original thing in the world, has the potential to add some more punch to some already stellar gameplay from the original Metroid Prime. I also want to see if the multiplayer is any good, but I'm likely going to stick with the single-player stuff in this game. Paper Mario 2 also has my eye. The game looks very sharp, and if it can improve upon the humor and solid gameplay of the original Paper Mario, I'll be a happy camper. GameCube needs more good RPGs. Semjaza
Resident Evil 4... ...Metroid Prime: Echoes... Paper Mario 2....
These are all games I want quite badly... Plus Donkey Konga and Baten Kaitos. GameCube has an awesome upcoming line-up as far as I'm concerned. They're all after one game in particular, however... Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. I absolutely love the MegaTen universe. Persona, Demi-kids, everything involved. SMT:N is the first full-blooded SMT game to ever actually make it to US shores officially (although you can get ROM translations for the earlier games). It's an RPG that delves pretty deeply into good versus evil, particularly from a religious angle. The US is getting the "Director's Cut" version that was later released in Japan... features new additions, particularly the appearance of Dante from Capcom's Devil May Cry. There's a thread on it here, as well as one on GS... Worth reading. It comes out the end of this month, and if you pre-order, you get a free soundtrack CD along with it. Do yourself a favor and buy it. Other than that, I also want Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga... set for November, but I personally think it'll be delayed. BlueYoshi
Paper Mario 2 also has my eye. When you have both a platformer and a RPG rolled into one, you just can't go wrong. Though, how Nintendo will handle the English translations for some of the cheesy Japanese jokes is beyond me lol. Until a few weeks ago, I was all for getting LoZ: FSA, but when I realised that I'd most likely be the only person in my area code with the game, I started to have second thoughts about it. I don't think the game is by all means bad; past reviews say likewise and people around here have generally good impressions on all of its aspects, but many claim that the game is at its peak when in the multiplayer mode with other human players. I don't mind playing single player, as I'd have done that anyway, but I definitely want to kick start things with a group of people rather than on my own. There's also Phantom Brave, the sequel to Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, but I've already mentioned that enough, so I'll spare you.
Guest Mana
I am really looking forward to GTA San Andreas, that's going to be like the best game of the year for me. Grand Theft Auto is always the best game out in my opinion. But if you want to know what game I want most at Christmas time, I'd have to say Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. That game's gonna be tight, you have to admit. It's got a lot going for it. It's going to be the second best game of the year I think. I really can't wait to get this game, it's gonna be so fun, lol. BlueYoshi
As for the GBA, I'm mostly looking forward to getting Metal Slug Advance and CT Special Forces 3: Bioterror. They both share the same concept, genre, and look almost identical in terms of visuals, plus, for both games, the storyline is only there to serve as a lame excuse for you to get shooting (as was so thoughtfully heralded elsewhere), which should state what the games are all about. My main concern with the two, however, is how they both lack in lifespan. With games of these sorts, you'd expect there to be insane levels of difficulty, especially as you progress further regardless of the meter's settings, but with MSA only having five levels (or something short of that), I don't possibly see how difficulty will be effected... unless they make the whole game super-mega-ultra hard from level one, which would be stupid. I think that is what's urging me to get both games, rather than just the one, because I'll be able to fall back on the other once the one I'm playing taps-out on me. Also, I might get Pokemon Leaf Green or Fire Red for the sake of the free Wireless Adaptor they come with. Once I've got it, I'll refund the game without including the adaptor, just like with FFCC and the GBA Connectivity Cable, and voila, I'm laughing. Purple Haze
As of right now Fable is number one on my list. So many different ways to build your character, good side, evil side.Grwing up from a litle kide to a full grown adult. The fact of having people scared that yyou will kill them when they see you.Beating up a billie or help him pick on the kid. Or even beat both of them up. So many different choices you can make. I also wanna get SRS(Strreet Racing Syndicate) but I've paid for my Fable in full so all I have to do is go pick it up when it comes out. But I should have the money for it in about another 2 weeks. On my christmas list I got 4 main games. Dead or Alive: Ultimate, Midnight Club 3: DUB edition, Need For Speed Underground 2 and Tony Hawk underground 2. Devil may Cry 3 was on here but the release date was pushed to early 2005.
Shinmaru
Baten Kaitos
*smacks forehead* I have no idea why, but I keep completely forgetting about Baten Kaitos lol. I always feel stupid after someone reminds me of it, especially since I've been looking forward to the game for a while now. I'm hoping I'll have just enough money to be able to pick up that, as well. It's nice to see that the GameCube is finally going to have a decent stock of RPGs. Skies of Arcadia: Legends, Tales of Symphonia, Crystal Chronicles, Paper Mario 2, Baten Kaitos...that's a pretty formidable lineup there, heh (provided Paper Mario 2 and Baten Kaitos both live up to their potential, which I think they will). James
It's really hard for me to choose just one game that I'm looking forward to more than any other. But I guess these are the ones that are sitting foremost in my mind right now: Resident Evil 4 Paper Mario 2 The Sims 2 Gran Turismo 4 Metroid Prime: Echoes Final Fantasy XII Baten Kaitos The Matrix Online Donkey Kong's Jungle Beat Pikmin 2 I guess those are probably the ones that I'm watching out for at the moment...but that's really just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many more. There are actually some PS2 games that I'm really keen on, but I can't remember their titles. lol In any case, I can say one thing for sure; there is no way I can afford all of these games. I haven't even included GBA and DS stuff on here...let alone PSP. So, I am going to have to work out which stuff I want to buy first. ~_^ I am particularly interested in Resident Evil 4. Obviously, many of the fundamentals are the same as the previous games -- the controls being the most prominent example of something that is almost entirely identical. But apparently it works better with the different viewpoint in RE4. The Resident Evil games are truly fantastic, but it's true that they've become stale. I found that I really didn't like Code Veronica very much, for example. Sure, it looked gorgeous, but it felt like the same old thing over again. It wasn't very scary, either. I found Resident Evil 3 to be much better than Code Veronica. So, based on everything I've seen of RE4, it's going to be a fantastic reinvention of the franchise. I really can't wait to get my hands on it for a long play session.
TheShinje
Grand Theft Auto: SanAndreas, no doubt about it. I guess the reason I'm looking forward to this game the most is the sheer size of the thing. Five times larger than it's last predecessor, Vice City. Getting lost and finding my way around new GTA cities is a heap of fun, and I can do this three times over in SanAndreas. Targeting has been overhauled, as has the lighting and statistics. The game as viewed form the trailer looks stunning, with more pedestrian and gang interaction that was present in either liberty or Vice City. What's so great about that is Rockstar haven't sacrificed quality for quantity, whilst the map is now five times larger, they still have room, thanks to the Dual Layer DVD disc, to improve the quality, and that is good to see.
gumby
Like James I can't wait for Gran Turismo 4 to come out. whether or not it comes out in time for christmas is another story. It was supposed to come out last year but a myriad of ste backs has the game penciled in for a December release. Since Prolouge hit the shelves I have wanted it to come out even more. Second on my list would be GTA: San Andreas. James P. Galvatron
Must have GTA San Andreas will have 3 cities and 12 villages inbetween is made on a new type of cd or hard disk drive that will be used to lower loading time. You will be able to get tatoos, double weild pistols like the desert eagle, buy gas for vehicles, buy homes and rob others, it will take 15 to 20 mins. to get between villages or cities, also when you get new guys your character will have to get used to holding them and at first it will seem akward the way he uses them, and there are 3 new types of shooting stances it sure to make a great game. Desbreko
My most anticipated game would be the new Legend of Zelda game for the GCN, but that won't be arriving for a good while yet. I really can't wait to hear more about improvements to the combat system and more about what the overworld is going to be like. And, of course, once I get it I'll be able to pick apart the storyline and decide where it fits into my timeline, but that's secondary to gameplay. The game I'm most looking forward to purchasing in the near future, though, has actually already been released; that would be Tales of Symphonia. Right now though, I've already got two older games lined up that are and will continue to keep me occupied me for some time, so I'm kind of taking a "wait and see" approach to buying new games. Those two older ones that I mentioned (Skies of Arcadia Legends and Final Fantasy Tactics) are going to last me a good long while, and I'm content to play them while I wait and see if Tales of Symphonia's price drops in the mean time. That's sort of my attitude toward all the new games coming out this fall/winter, too. I mean, I'd love to play a lot of them, but I just sort of think "Well, I'm already busy with these other games that I've wanted to play for a while now. New games can wait." I suppose that's good, though. It'll give me time to save up money for all these new games I want, and then I can pick them up at my leisure without having to worry about getting enough money by the time they're released.
GuyYouMetOnline
Nobody has yet mentioned Prince of Persia 2 or Viewtiful Joe 2? I am angered. Prince of Persia 2 (which seems to be the game's title, even though there's already been a Prince of Persia 2) is the sequal to the excellent game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I have to agree with everyone I've heard talk about that game and say that the combat needed work. I didn't find it too repetitive, but that's probably because I didn't pay attention to the on-screen instructions and ended up discovering many moves by accident on my second play-through. There did need to be more fighting, and apparently there will be in the sequal. I hope you get to fight the Dahaka near or at the end of the game. As for VJ2, well, the original is an awesome game. I was interested, and then I played an in-store demo. I was hooked. It's fun, the three unlockable characters and two unlockable difficulties provide good replay value, but I don't need that incentive. The game doesn't get old. Or easy. Ultra V-Rated is probably the second-hardest thing I've done in a game (the hardest thing I've done is play Ikaruga), but if you don't know what you're doing, play on super-easy Kids mode. Basically, I expect the sequal to, if nothing else, provide more VJ action, and that alone makes it a must-buy for me.
Sol-Blade
Ah yes, Prince of Persia. That was a really great game, a masterpiece almost. The sequel looks to be even better. What really intrgues me is the "Free-Form" fighting system which basically allows you to string all your attacks in a way that you are basically coming up with your own style of fighting. UbiSoft said that they were going to make the game a little more action oriented than the original (Which was more or less, a puzzle game). The storyline is also much, much darker this time around. If you played the first game, its all about when our lovable prince did the unthinkable, he defied Fate by preventing his own death...and Fate is pissed. The supernatural force known as Fate takes on a mortal form and hunts down the prince, who is constantly on the run, cheating death over and over. Plus, he also has a much darker outlook on life, and the treating of people period. You can now decapitate your foes, along with cutting their arms and legs off (They are made of sand, mind you. No blood here.) to defeat them. You can latch on to the bigger foes and climb up them. The developers claim that "No two fights in the game will ever occur the same way.", obvisously refering to the Free-Form system. I can't wait. :D
THE EVIL EYE
The games I am most looking foward to are WWE: Smackdown vs Raw and Rumble Roses- Okay call me a sick perv on the second one but Konami look like it has gotten an excellent grappler together. WWE: Smackdown vs Raw is looking excellent and is going through the last stages of develepment but the funnest bit will be the rock and sock connection- appearing for the first time in a game as an original tag-team. Beorhun
There are so many great games coming out, that all I can do is list the one game I really want for each console. Gamecube: Metrod Prime 2: Echoes; I really liked the first one, and this sequel looks really cool, from what I've seen of it. Really, I'd like it if it was the exact same as the first one, with slightly revamped graphics and maybe a few more weapons. Oh, yeah, and make it a lot longer, because you could get through Prime in a weekend, but man, what a weekend it was. X-Box: Fable; It's close, but Fable looks better than Halo 2 (please don't hurt me...) I'm more of an RPG fan, and the only RPG worth buying on the X-box is KOTOR. This game looks stunning, and the gameplay looks like a mix between Morrowind and KOTOR, which is a very interesting mix. PS2: Kingdom Hearts II: I myself was skeptical when Square decided to cross Final Fantasy and Disney, but Kingdom Hearts 1 was one of the funnest RPGs i've ever played, mainly because the combat wasn't your standard mash X stuff that is in most RPGs nowadays. I also want to play FFXII, but that's not coming out until, like, summer next year, is it? Edit: GBA: Hmmm...well, I have to say that I am anticipating absolutely nothing on the GBA this year. And for everyone who wants to yell at me about KH:COM, I't got the card-combat system, what else has to be said? Besides, I still need to catch up on the old, great titles that I missed. Alright, so those are the big three. I don't have much that I want this holiday, because all the good games are coming out in 2005, along with the DS and PSP.
Guest shadowmatrix
i am patiently waiting for Rumble Roses too. The graphics are designed by the same people that designed DOA beach Volleyball. This will knock the Smackdown series in a place where the sun dont shine. I also want Pokemon Emerald to come out here.

That game must be awesome, I cant wait, but it may not hit the cube until 2006. In the near future, I would like to get the new Star Ocean game for PS2. Iy looks pretty sweet, and I would probably enjoy it. But my geek friend said that he read that all you do in that game is get raped by lizards...... ew. Id also like Tales of Symphonia.... badly. That game looks hot! I love how you can customize your charachters and stuff. Does anyone know if theres a two player mode? Paper Mario 2 looks awesome, but I never really got into Paper mario 1, but I did love Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. I also want Fable.... Iori Yagami
Hmm... What's the game I want the most.... Gamecube: The thing I want most for the Gamecube is Metroid Prime 2 since I beat the first one and what to continue the story because the first one was cool. Next thing I would want is Fire Emblem because I've played every Fire Emblem and I want to see how this one stacks up. Game boy Advance: The game I'd want to play is Megaman Zero 3 because it looks cool... I hope it'll stack up witht the other 2. After that the game I'd want is Metal Slug Advance for the fun of it and I want to see if Tarma is in it. (because he's my favourite) Playstaton 2: Number one game on my list is a tie between Guilty Gear Isuka and Kingdom Hearts 2 because both are awesome games and I've played the first one of each. And I won't list Xbox because I don't have it... :(
BlueYoshi
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is going to be awesome. Anybody who is anyone has played it (not me), and from those people, it has got nothing but good reviews. Everything in it has made its own appeal to me, including the fields I wouldn't normally take into consideration when judging any game, and that's saying something. You know, I still remember how gob smacked I was by the sheer look and sharpness of Samus's Varia Suit when I first saw her ascend out of her space ship in Frigate Orpheon in Metroid Prime. That's a memory I still carry with me to this day, and I can't wait to revisit that expression again in the next game, only this time it'll be tenfold -- I hope. Due to the events of the Light World and the Dark World, and the exclusive types of beams that'll feature with them, there are supposed to me many, many more puzzles in the course of the game than there ever was in any other Metroid, so it'll be pretty neat to see how that blends in with the key exploration aspects that the franchise is so undoubtedly infamous for. I really hope that the one attribute won't overshadow the other, though, because that would ruin the game, I think, or at least not let it pertain its usual charm. It'll also be cool to see how the Screw Attack and wall jumps will be implemented into it, seeing as the game is primarily based in the first person mode, and those techniques have fundamentally been demonstrated in 2D. The Space Jump in Metroid Prime was very limited, I felt, but it was acceptable because of how much the environments between the 2D games and the 3D one differed. In other words, Prime had a very extensive atmosphere, where as Super Metroid/Fusion/Zero Mission were confined with ceilings and narrow hallways. Sounds good overall, though. I was a bit edgy with wall jumping in the 2D games, so I hope I can get to grips with it with the 3D transition, heh.
Falkon
Ok... I know its already out, but I would have to say one of the most anticipated games that I have waited for was Silent Hill 4. The reason is this: I loved Silent Hill 3, and still do, by the way, so much that I'm practically hyperventialting over getting SH4. The game series is the scariest I have ever played (and yes, much scarier than Resident Evil. Resident evil is the type of scare that surprises you. In this game its like: youre walking in a construction site at night, you go into a bathroom (Not a porta-potty), then hear "step step step..." *clunk* *smash* *scream* and theres no one else there.. also, in one part there is a mannequin with a head in a room, and you walk around a shelf, hear a scream, go back and the head is chopped off, and blood everywhere. Scary. Oh, yeah and there are subliminal faces... i guess you could call them that anyway, in the walls.) This is the only game that has ever scared me ^.^
natetron46
Of all the games that are coming out soon, I most want to play Demon Stone on Xbox. I played it on PS2 at a firends and liked it, so now I can't wait for the Xbox version. I want a whole load of games, but this one's at the top of my list right now. Semjaza
All I've picked up so far from my list was Donkey Konga, which has been quite fun... even by myself lol. My main game is still Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. I should be playing it right now, but it's been delayed till October 12th due to some sort of manufacturing issue. Better to wait than get a game that doesn't work. It looks like it's safe to say that I'll probably be the only one here who will buy it. No one to talk to in my thread, which is already dead... :(
Purple Haze
I've gotten Fable off my list and rented SRS. It sucks but back to the point, I've been awaiting the arrival od DOA Ultimate. Now that it will bon on Xbox Live I can kick some *** acroos the world. The graphics are crisp as in all DOA games and they have some new levels to fight in too. Plus you get the Japanes version of DOA that was released on sega saturn. I've also been interested in Resident Evil 4 mainly because they're adding the 3d backrounds. I've stayed away from the other RE games but this one caught my eye. It doesn't come out until next year so I have time to decide if I should get it or not.
